This is a great spot in LKN... good food, great service, good views. It's a great spot to bring visitors. I brought a friend who was visiting for lunch and they loved the food and the atmosphere. The menu is broad and provides enough offerings to cater to a variety of tastes and dietary restrictions. The staff are all welcoming and friendly, providing great service. You're never left waiting long here. I love the chicken caprese sandwich, it is delicious. Large portion and fresh. The fries are okay, nothing special but a big portion. Lake/Marina views and great cocktails + food make this Davidson gem a true LKN treasure! Pull up by jet ski, boat, car, bicycle or on foot as there are sidewalks all the way from downtown Davidson. One of my favorite places to brunch, lunch or have a leisurely dinner outdoors (ALWAYS). Tbh, inside is kinda dank and dark for me. No reservations for outdoor seating but they have a lot of tables and options for groups of all sizes. Prices are fair and portions are big. North Harbor is a mainstay in the area. you can depend on the menu to be the same and the service to be friendly. Last night , December 20, however, they failed miserably in ambience. Our small group was seated next to a large Christmas party of screaming shouting people. There is a private dining room at the end of the restaurant they could have seated this and the other large group in to spare the hearing and experience of the rest of the diners. These were not terrible people, just living and drinking large and I am sure paying for their space at the same rate we paid for ours. such a simple solution right at hand but ignored. We struggled to hear each other and our waiter. Before we left we made the decision that after holding our Christmas dinner at North Harbor for several years, we would not run the risk of such misery again. read more

My friends and I stopped by here yesterday for a quick bite to eat before a boat day on the lake. We had a pretty big group but luckily they were able to seat us right away with a great view of the lake. Overall the service was great and the drinks were fantastic! I had the pineapple mule- so tasty! The menu was a little limited in variety of choices and a little pricey for what it is, but we ordered the chicken salad sandwich, the spinach artichoke dip and the asparagus fries. Chicken salad sandwich was fairly a fairly big portion and everyone seemed to like it a lot! The spinach dip was tasty as well. We didn't love the asparagus fries though- the sauce on them wasn't very tasty so I don't think we'd order that again. However overall this spot is great for a lake day! Will be back. read more

Looking for a place to eat after church on Sunday and settled on North Harbor. It's a little ways out in Davidson, however worth the drive. Went with my really good friend and we sat outside. The view is beautiful, being able to see the water and boats either on the dock or families taking a ride. You can't beat that view. We started out with the spinach dip and bang bang shrimp. Well the bang bang shrimp didn't stand a chance. The spinach dip started off cold for a dip. Which when we sent it back our waitress Sarah was super nice about correcting it. When it came back, it was piping hot and delicious. We settled on making our own sandwiches which ha, I didn't get the best pic and thought about it after we had split it and taken a few bites. I got the crab cake sandwich with a fried egg and avocado with sweet potatoes fries. The sandwich was amazing. That's the first time i've had a fried egg and avocado on a crab cake sandwich but it didn't disappoint. My friend ordered the build your own black bean sandwich which was very flavorful also. We both got sweet potatoes fries which ended up being cold also . They were sent back and corrected in no time. I truly appreciate how no matter what the issue was, the restaurant corrected it without a problem and apologized. I'd def go back bc despite the minor issue the food and service was great. This place is spectacular for dates especially. Me and my husband went for our first anniversary dinner and it was amazing. I felt like I was in Italy for once because their view was so beautiful as this place is located in Lake Norman. Amazing lake view with amazing boats in it. A nice spot for lunch on the water but a little on the pricey side. The service was rather slow as well. My kids really enjoyed watching the boats coming and going. I ordered the Korean BBQ tacos appetizer for my lunch. They were delicious! It came with 2, and they were stuffed full. My husband ordered a poboy and wasn't overly impressed with it. My kids both ordered grilled cheese and fries off of the kids menu. They have a great patio overlooking the lake. Make sure you get a spot outside! Yesss to the Pistachio Crusted Brie! Such a unique appetizer. The Pistachio crust was delicious as was the Cranberry Chutney that came with it - trust me. This is the first time I've seen Asparagus Fries and I highly recommend. I wasn't sure about this at first but so fresh and loved the Soy Vinaigrette and Honey Mustard Aioli drizzle. If you like salmon, the Salmon Ranchero Bowl is for you. Quinoa, black beans, Queso Fresco & Red Pepper Vinaigrette - it felt like a healthier option. Enjoyable lunch on the patio with friends. 1 person had the beet salad and really enjoyed it, the other 2 had the "build your own" crab cake sandwich, also tasty. Sweet potato fries were partially overdone, partially underdone, and more than I could eat, but didn't detract. We've been going to North Harbor Club for a long time and it was always our go to when visiting family in Davidson. Unfortunately, our food was very disappointing this last visit. My fish was very dry and overpriced for the entree! My husband's pork chop was also overcooked and very tough to cut. So sad that the quality is suffering so much since the atmosphere is always wonderful. read more

My husband and I visited on May 30th for lunch were very impressed by the food (my husband had the Surf and Turf and I had the MahiMahi ) The food was prepared to perfection and our server was both extremely efficient and very friendly! Casual(ish) but classy. We came here for Sunday brunch and were impressed. The foodie choices on the menu were as impressive as the scenic waterside location. We came here to celebrate a family birthday. It was a good choice. We walked in and was informed that since we didn't have reservations our only dining option was outside seating. It was a little chilly but the outside area provided a better view. Our server, Zoe, provided excellent service. We never wanted for anything. She even gave us her opinion on menu options. The food was really great. I ordered Crab Cake Benedict. The poached eggs were perfectly cooked and the crab cakes were mostly lump crab meat. Others at my table got a chicken sandwich with a side Caesar salad, steak and eggs, crab cake burger, sweet potato fried, and a french toast breakfast. The chef-prepared food was excellent. Beautiful spot on Lake Norman with great outdoor area but no heaters. , but still a cooler March evening so opted for the socially distanced inside. Great booth with a view of the lake, so I was happy. Old school club style decor inside. This place caters to a wide age group from what I could tell. Onto drinks! Half price wine by the bottle ....so my friend and I shared a bottle of the Rosé. Our other friend got a French 77 martini. The wine was perfect, nicely chilled. The martini, also on point! Good start. Now appetizers. We got the pan seared scallops and the warm pistachio crusted Brie. Scallops on top of a cauliflower hash, with smoked bacon, cashews and gremolata, and a fabulous balsamic reduction. Lots of flavors going on here, Smokey, sweet, and lots of crunch ...but the scallops were cooked well and everything together was perfect. The Brie, comes with crostini , the pistachio crust was totally different but good! Nice nuttiness. The crostini also very crunchy, so with the soft Brie, a great combo. Loved this appetizer. Ordered the ahi tuna as an entree, and since we had already checked out the desserts, we decided to share the entree, which there was plenty of. Rosemary crusted tuna, this is the best way to have it. My first time with Rosemary. Highly recommend this. Then this plate had so many colors going on. And textures. Crunchy wontons, cucumbers, avocado, red peppers, arugula, toasted almonds, edamame and a fabulous creamy miso-ginger dressing. Even 3 of us couldn't finish this. Nothing bad yet ! So the desserts....so many choices. We seriously couldn't pick two out of our fave 4 , so we got all 4. Yes seriously. So the NY style cheesecake with cardamom scented berries, and an almond tulle(cookie)! Really good, but probably my least favorite. If that makes any sense. Couldn't really taste any cardamom, but the cheesecake was nice, not as creamy as I thought would be though. Next was the flourless chocolate cake with mango sorbet. Delicious! Extremely rich chocolate, but creamy. Amazing sorbet. Mango/chocolate never on my radar before but it is now. Loved this . Not sure I could have eaten much of it if it's the only one we got. As I really mean rich! The key lime pie....probably my favorite. Creamy, tart, with whipped cream. Loved the crust. Always a favorite of mine. The apple tart, also fabulous, why are desserts not ever not good ! Served with a salted caramel gelato, loved the pastry, the apples were nice and cinnamony, the pie crust was my favorite though, buttery and crisp. The gelato also was amazing. Another fabulous combination. 4 desserts, should have felt bad but we didn't. And out server never acted like we were crazy! North harbor club, is high end, summers outside dining will be awesome. I really liked the crab cakes with the combination of the corn and spinach. Just needed more sauce . The lobster Mac-n-cheese I really did not like to bland. I've tried this dish other places was very good . Just wasn't for me . Now I was able to try a friends asparagus fries very good. Something I would try at home . I stopped in for lunch with my daughter. The location is nice and the food was good, but it felt like we went back in time. It's almost like it should really be changed from wanting to be fine dining into just a cool Marina spot. The service was just okay. When I'm spending that kind of money I expect a little more. My daughter has a shellfish allergy and they don't and won't use a separate fryer for chicken nuggets... they use the same one for shrimp. It might be a good dinner date spot. The food really was good, but the place needs a revamp and to consider not being cheap when it comes to kids (or anyone really) with allergies and invest in a second fryer. This was definitely not something I enjoyed. The waitress was great so my knock on the place is 100% the food. My wife and I both got the grilled cheese. The bread just wasn't thick enough to handle the amount of cheese. The bread was soggy and it was impossible to pick up and eat. On top of that, it lacked any sort of flavor. If I could rate the asparagus fries I'd put them at a zero. The tempura batter had absolutely no flavor and tasted terrible. Service was a 5, but the food was a 2 (and I'm being generous I think). Appetizers: Asparagus Fries with Green Tomato. Fried Oysters with Shishito Peppers. Selection of dips. Lobster Chowder...yes, you read right, Lobster. Lobster mac 'n Cheese. Salads: Crab cake, Caesar, Greek & Spinach, Wedge & Fried Oyster & Kale. A bit different...nice touch. A lot of different sandwiches beyond burgers and Po-boys: Grown up Grilled cheese with Poblamo peppers, caramelized onions and wild mushroom Homemade Tomato Jam (!) and asparagus fries. It was sooooo good that you will make a pig out of yourself, but won't care. Pastrami and a southern meat loaf loaded with thick bacon and pimento cheese. Killer, for sure! Of course, you might choose to build your own sandwich...toppings and cheeses suggested. Oh, and there are some entrees. Chicken and Linguini, Sirloin Steak and crisp fried catfish. Kinda of sounds a little dull after the run-down of snackables, eh? Prices are reasonable. Service was great and every one was very friendly. Refilling of beverages. Good full bar. Meets all the Covid safety measures, but you can remove your masks to eat and drink at your table. Get up from the table and you have to put your mask back on your pretty face.
