Service is fast & friendly, the open dining and patio area have plenty of seating options where you can have a quick lunch meeting or a cool place to meet the girls for a longer lunch. The lunch menu has a good mix of sandwiches, salads, pizzas and entrees. Don't miss their dessert options .. trust me they are delish! My gf and I started with the thinly sliced crunchy salty goodness of the zucca chips while we looked over the menu. We decided we couldn't decide so we split the chicken chopped salad & the pig pizza. The kitchen split our salads .. crunchy and nicely dressed. The pig pizza is pretty much that.. all the meats, the crust had a nice chew. Our waitress kept our ice teas full, she checked on us often. Food; We started with the white truffle garlic bread which I would highly recommend, I may order that next time for my entree so delicious. I've been here a couple times and it never disappoints. Food, wine, service, and atmosphere are always great. I also think they have a great happy hour too if you're in the mood for something a little casual but on the nicer end, 3-6pm Monday-Friday but only at the bar area. Also on Mondays, wine bottles are half off so that's a bonus! Parking is limited so you most likely will have to use the complimentary valet, but if you're familiar with this area that's very normal due to limited space around here. When it comes to food, for starters and appetizers; the meatballs are extremely popular and pretty tasty. One time when ordering they did come out rather on the cooler side and not warm, as soon as I mentioned it the server took care of it right away and got us a new order and took care of it for us, so very attentive service as well! You also can't go wrong with a simple Cacio e pepe pizza. Highly recommend the Beef Carpaccio if you've never tried it before. For entrees the Strozrapetti was absolutely delicious and I would order it again. If you love Italian food it's worth a stop in and also a great place to take a date or visitors! read more

Probably the best Italian food in San DiegoPretty much my favorite Italian restaurant. Make fresh pasta the house. In a completely open kitchen, no walls. Wanted to thank my daughter and her family so I took them to North Italia at P83 for dinner. I made reservations and was seated on time- that was the best part of our evening. My wife asked if a dish was made of chicken breast- the server was not sure and said she would find out and let us know- she never told my wife one way or another! The food came out at different times with the salad being served then the an entree came right after with some entrees not coming out for another 5 minutes. The kids had pizza and usually they clean their plate but could not eat the crust, only the cheese. Another had a cheeseburger which was inedible, overcooked and tough. Most of the food lacked flavor. $256 dollars later we left vowing never to return! read more

North Italia is a nice cozy establishment. I love the ambiance when it's daylight but at night is when this place truly establishes an intimate atmosphere. Our waiter was a guy named Dan and he was amazing!! Dan was able to recommend certain wine pairings with our food and give an honest opinion on his choice of what I should eat because I wasn't sure on what I should eat. I ended up ordering the Grilled Branzino while my husband ordered the Chicken Parm. The Branzino was really good especially with the lemon squeezed over top! The potatoes, broccolini, and brussel sprouts paired SO WELL with it too! I'll definitely order it again. My husband said that the Chicken Parm was pretty good but the red sauce could've been heartier for him. Although he's not a big fan of it normally, he REALLY liked the Alfredo pasta that came with the Chicken Parm! For him, the pasta was cooked just right and was overall really good. For alcohol we started with the Golden Fig Old Fashioned and the Diavolo. My husband said that the Old Fashioned was on the lighter side and the flavors hid the whiskey just enough for it to be balanced. The Diavolo has Mezcal (which I love) and was slightly sweet. The spices on the rim of the glass definitely made the drink for me, so if the entire rim was covered with it I wouldn't be bad at all! Okay so I waited way to long to try this place. It's been here for years but I slept on it. I'll start by saying the place is nice, modern, and elegant. I sat outdoors on a cool breezy evening and it was superb. Snacked on the grilled bread and oil with a cup of the daily soup which was Italian wedding. It was delicious starter and a bottle of Portillo Malbec. For the main course we had the spaghetti and meatballs along with the raised short rib lumache. The pastas were obviously cooked to perfection. The thick spaghetti noodles were hardy firm and mildly dense. Served with three large meatballs to ensure you have a bite all the way through the dish. I hoy it with a little Parmesan because unlike it like that. The sauce was thick and chunky like Americans like it but it was far from the Ragú your girlfriend makes. The short rib lumache was delectable. Lite parmesan fonduta sauce was on fire with the rib and thick pasta noodle and a sip of the Malbec!?!? Ohhh man ohh man. Do not sleep on this dish, you will be ready for a nap afterwards. Or you can order the Affogato at the end like we did. It's a nice pick me up with some added chocolate dipped coffee beans on top. I stuck w/ a nonalcoholic Peach Bitters & Soda. The Burrata Di Stagione starter melted in my mouth: a magnificent mix of creamy cheese, roasted butternut squash, Fuji apple, toasted hazelnuts, herbed breadcrumbs, finessed w/ an agrodulce (sweet yet tangy sauce). Was about a 45 minute wait for lunch but they do have a waitlist so you can shop around and they will text you Cocktails - very delicious and creative choices Apps- we had both the burrata cheese board and the meatballs. Both I would highly recommend, we cleaned the plates. We also had the seasonal veggie salad - good choice if you like a dense salad with lots of items in it. Close to our house and wanted to try something new. Parking is crazy and you have to valet, which is kind of standard in the valley but annoying at a neighborhood spot like this. I would walk next time. The atmosphere was okay. It's loud and high ceiling in a big open space, so it's fault loud. We were worried we would be seated in the middle of the restaurant and that would have made it hard to have a conversation but fortunately we were seated along the side and it wasn't too bad. The food.... It was really just okay. We shared the chef's board, a pasta, and the chicken parm. I had to look back at what we had on the menu to finish this because while it was not bad, it was forgettable compared to the other Italian places around town we like. I was anticipating this being on par and it just really wasn't. Nothing stood out. I didn't really want dessert even for a few bites because the meal took awhile and we were just ready to go. I might give it another shot because it's walking distance and maybe we need to try something else on the menu and come on a weeknight for better service and less noise, but I wouldn't go out of my way. I've never had a bad meal. The caprese panini is DELICIOUS. They have a great happy hour and the service is always above and beyond. Nice Italian restaurant, located right on Camelback road. While I'm sure it's great for nice dinners, we actually went here for brunch. It might not look like a brunch spot, but it has a full brunch menu. I got an omelet which I really liked, and a beer I hadn't had before. The setting inside may seem like more fitting for a romantic dinner, and I'm sure it does, but I think it still worked for brunch, especially with the sun coming in. I'm from out of town, my friend who lives down the block recommended it, and I'm glad we went here. I'd be curious to try the dinner menu next time. read more

Finally ate here yesterday with some friends and it was long overdue. I ordered the chicken pesto pasta and it was so delicious- super flavorful and the pestos wasn't overwhelming. It was also a good size serving that was filling. My fiancé got the margarita pizza, it was also very good. The sauce was seasoned well and the dough was both crispy and doughy. My friend got the chicken parmesan and it looked amazing. Our waitress was very thorough and helpful explaining items to us and everything was very efficient.
