Needed to get out, tired of cooking. This restaurant has been on my list to try. My friend and I have only been to a handful of restaurants since the Covid restaurant rules were announced. I made an Open Table reservations for 2 on a Saturday at 7:15. When you arrive in a car be prepared to valet it, parking lot is tiny. When we entered the restaurant all employees were masked, including valet attendant. Hand sanitizers were all around, hostesses were wiping down menus as they were being returned to hostess station. The restaurant was packed. I can't say that tables were 6 ft. apart or people were seated 6 ft apart. To note: toward the end of our meal one particular server did have his mask down around his chin while he took orders from a table of customers. We were seating at a high-top, Dylan our masked server was excellent. We ordered Craft cocktails: Grapefruit Martini and Quiet Italian Gentleman, Yummy! Dishes ordered were the Beef Carpaccio, Black Mediterranean Mussels and the Margherita Pizza. All the food came out hot, fresh and delicious. I would be back again, but maybe not in the near future. Not the restaurants fault, but in this day and age of Covid and wearing masks, I took note that customers picking up food by the bar area, waiting outside, and most of all entering the restaurant talking to the hostess at the hostess table (where everyone stops first) with mask under their chin or hanging off 1 ear. I have been going to and ordering from North Italia for going on eight years. I have to say that they have the best Bolognese with fresh pasta in all the land. I have tried to find other places that are fancier and no place seems to comes close. The other items are spectacular as well. Moreover, I find myself craving their bolognese with fresh pasta and order it from DoorDash as it delivers well. Had it delivered last night and I'm still thinking about it now. It's not hard to understand why the Cheese Cake Factory bought the Fox restaurant group for this concept alone. The service and food quality is the best around. Highly recommend! read more

North is always a good idea! I have come twice to this location with coworkers and my company for lunch in Arcadia! The servers have always been pleasant and efficient when serving us as a large group for lunch. My tea was never left empty the entire visit! Both times I have gotten the seasonal salad - I can't recommend enough! The ingredients were fresh, unique and paired well with each other! It was fresh and I dream about the fall seasonal salad! We finished our meals both times with the butter cake!!!! A must for getting through a Tuesday or celebrating a birthday - so delicious!! My boyfriend and I come to this location quite often, about once a week as of late. And the food and service never disappoints. Our last couple of visits Travis was our waiter and he is awesome! Super friendly, down to earth and recognizes us when we come in. I had an amazing lunch at North Italia in Phoenix! Afternoon vibes were relaxed and bright, I really enjoyed the high windows and mix of table types. To start we shared the zucca chips which are thinly sliced zucchini fried into crispy chips. They are a good option for a light appetizer and to sneak in a green veggie. They kept me happily distracted until the main meal arrived. There happens to be just one shrimp dish on the menu, so I ordered an appetizer for my entree. The smaller serving size is perfect for lunch ;). The shrimp scampi was DIVINE! The combination of cooked tomatoes, herb butter, garlic confit, and lemon makes for DEEP flavors. It was AMAZING! Paired with crusty grilled bread, each bite is a Pop of flavor and crunch. The tomatoes were the best part! If you love cooked tomatoes, it's a must try :) For dessert I couldn't help but get the hazelnut torta again. Chocolate and salted caramel combination is a delicious sweet duo. This is for the restaurant the way it is run from somebody that was in the restaurant business for 45 years. I was there to pick up a to go order. Restaurant was busy of course understandable Friday night when I got there I let them know. I'm here to pick up for so-and-so no big deal the name I was told 10 to 15 minutes. OK no problem. 20 minutes. Go by. I ask if they could check on the order for me, she comes back and makes excuses restaurants extremely busy kitchens behind the excuses because they overbooked themselves for one reason so I said OK. She's 15 more minutes OK 20 minutes later I go up to the front and I ask about the order I was rudely explained that I'm being rude, which I was not being rude. I was asking a question well, I was told that the people who have reservations and are sitting down will get their food before the Chico orders will be completed or even started, which is extremely unacceptable. You put those to go orders in with the other orders. You don't just set them aside and wait until your other people because you overbooked your restaurant with reservations because I was talking to another lady who her son placed her to go order she was there before I got there for my to go order and sad freaking thing is all she had was an order of spaghetti and meatballs she had waited almost an hour. I proceeded to cancel my order and leave because no way is that ever Acceptable for a person to be told well, we're not gonna make your to go out until the people that are in here eating get their food which they've had water drinks, salads, and bread, but we're standing here starving waiting to get our food so we can take it home and eat after getting off of work and we are waiting almost an hour. I just have to say poor management restaurant never take reservations and never overbook your kitchen because you overbooked your restaurant. I'd give it less stars if I could. We ordered quite a bit of food for our production staff and they asked me to wait outside in the cold because they needed more room for guest to come in. We decided on North for dinner to celebrate our anniversary. The atmosphere is beautiful, during the day and especially at night. Parking lot can be a little cramped, but they are a strictly valet lot, unless you're there for takeout. For our dinner, we got the following: Black Mediterranean Mussels - Had a handful that were not open and a few where the shells were broken, which i was slightly disappointed about. A closed mollusk after cooking is a dead one. And broken shells are sketch. You do not eat these. The ones that were open were good, not overcooked. The broth, while flavorful, was extremely salty. Bolognese - Husband had never had Bolognese and was REALLY wanting to try it out. So when he saw this on the menu, that was it. No questions asked. Husband said it was flavorful but was over salted. The boy thought it was the best entrée out of all of them. Strozzapreti - We really enjoyed this one though I thought something was missing. Husband stated it was probably because it had a flavor profile not quite a stroganoff and not quite an alfredo. Husband and the boy both enjoyed it. Short Rib Radiatori - I had my hopes up for this one. But something was amiss. The food here is great. Service was a little slow & they forgot to bring one of our items to the table, but were very attentive and took care of things quickly once you let them know. It was a lot louder than we anticipated. That would be the biggest drawback. If we came again we'd probably opt for sitting outside hoping it was a little quieter. Well....this used to be one of my favorite places, but it seems to have suffered a bit. During our most recent visit we ordered the calamari appetizer (very little calamari and a lot of arugula). The fried pieces of calamari were a bit soggy as well. The entrees we ordered were Tuscan 1/2 chicken (but it wasn't really a half, more like a flattened out small breast and a thigh) and the squid ink pasta. The Tuscan chicken was dry, and there was no zucchini in the mixed vegetables served with the chicken. Zucchini is listed as an ingredient, but I think they replaced it with lots and lots of sliced garlic, see photo below. The garlic was very overpowering, as it was not really cooked thoroughly enough to temper the strong flavor and the sheer volume of it. This entree needs a redo or at least the description on the menu should be changed so people are forewarned. The squid ink pasta was very good, spicy with a fair amount of squid in the dish. A very nice young lady waited on us and checked in frequently to make sure we were enjoying our meal and was very prompt refilling drinks. Restaurant Manager was very visible helping out throughout the restaurant running food and assisting with to-go orders. Note: Try to avoid coming during DoorDash rush hours (6pm-8pm). DoorDashers check in with the hostess who in turn gets the order from the kitchen and delivers it to the driver. We had 3 DoorDashers in front of us when we arrived, and it took a bit for hostess to process them. And there were 2 others waiting on food that wasn't ready yet. This made for a very crowded hostess reception area. Restaurant was maybe 65% full but it's the first time we've not gotten our first course within 10-15 min. It was closer to 20-25 min. Server apologized for the long wait. Their prolific take-out business has definitely slowed down the dine in kitchen to table times. read more

North used to be a great go to spot but the past few visits have really disappointed us. We've been to three different locations and each time we leave dissatisfied. Last night the Arcadia location was packed, totally understand it's a Friday night during the holidays at 6 pm. Our food took forever, the wait staff blamed the kitchen but each dish arrived cold which leads me to believe it was an understaffing issue. I highly recommend North Italia without reservations at all. I've been more times than my one pizza photo suggestions. Every meal I've had has been a slam dunk from all aspects. I particularly love their pizzas but their entrees and drinks are amazing. The service and venue is equally accommodating. They have a wonderful outdoor space too. Waiter was friendly and I had other staff stop by my table to ensure a great experience. Low lighting created a nice ambiance and the food was tasty! I didn't try any other dishes so I can't say but based on the two items I've had I'm not excited to return. We ate here for lunch on a Friday. We came directly from getting picked up at the airport; I think we arrived around 11:15 a.m. We initially missed it driving past; I'm not sure if the signage is obscure or if we were distracted. We were surprised at the valet-only parking; we assumed this was probably mostly due to them having limited area for parking (?). There is a large interior dining space and a small patio, which was partly enclosed with plastic when we were there in February. As it was pleasant outside, we opted for the patio. They had a good selection of pastas and sandwiches for lunch. Two of us got pasta and one got a sandwich. Everyone enjoyed their food. We finished the pasta and everyone helped out on mostly finishing the large chicken sandwich so as to avoid leftovers. We recently had a birthday dinner here. I had been to their North Scottsdale location a couple of times before however I do like this one a little better. I think it's more open and their outdoor seating is great. The star of the night was the burrata, I absolutely loved it. The calamari wasn't as great. Spicy vodka rigatoni was delicious and portions are big so I took some home and it tasted equally good the next day. I forgot the name of the dessert we shared but it was delicious.
