Given we were vacationing in Scottsdale, we didn't get a chance to make a reservation at North Italia. So we put our names down - a one hour wait was promised and the restaurant mostly stood by it. We got a pizza, the scallops and the white truffle garlic bread. All the food tasted pretty good. However, the experience was marred by the excruciatingly long wait times. Our appetizer took 50 minutes to arrive after being ordered and had become soggy by the time we got to it. Clearly it had been ready for a while and nobody fetched it for us. The same for the pizza. The scallops however came out warm and made the meal worth it for us. I'd love to go back and give them another chance - maybe make a reservation so they will remember to serve us. read more

Great outdoor patio. Mussels were delicious but my favorite was the broth they were in. Delicious herb flavors! The bolognese was good, I've had better at a different North location though. The daily special pizza was the highlight for sure! Aperol spritz had a bit too much aperol for my liking but they have a great selection of wines. What a nightmare of an experience I (and others) had at North Italia tonight. I placed a takeout order for a pizza and a pasta dish - my estimated pickup time was 5:49 PM. I arrived around 5:45 and was immediately greeted by a Hostess who went to check on my order. I was informed that the pasta was ready and they were just waiting on the pizza. No worries. 10 minutes went by. Then 20 minutes. Jeez - how long does it take to make a pizza? I did not receive my takeout order until 6:25 PM. That is absolutely insane. They were countless other customers waiting for takeout orders that contained pizzas as well. The FOH staff was extremely apologetic and kind, and a manager checked up on me multiple times. Without their help this would definitely be a 1 star review. It is insane to me that it took 35 minutes to make a Neapolitan style pizza, and due to that wait my pasta was FREEZING cold by the time I got home (I live next door). I've never had such a terrible experience until today. I am giving them 1 star just to post this review. My family was singled out by the manager of the restaurant and asked to "take our kids outside" because they were "too loud." We had a large party and were asked to "move" or "take our kids outside to calm down" because a table behind us of 4 adults was complaining about noise. HORRIBLE! This is NOT family friendly, do not plan to visit with family as it is not a family friendly welcoming environment. We left after being there 30min because the manager gave us two options "take your kids outside or move." We will never be visiting again. Do better!! read more

I have been to North 40 + times over the years; both locations. Went to the 40th and Camelback location for dinner last Thursday and what a disappointment! It took 10 minutes to get a glass of wine and then no check back for our meal. Flagged down a waitress to place our order. Pasta dish came out cold, seafood was undercooked, no dressing on the salad. Waitress never checked back--- no offer for Parmesan. Had to stop her again for second glass of wine. Bad experience!!!! read more

Great spot for a date night, especially if you're craving Italian! My boyfriend took me here on a surprise date night. I am newer to the area and don't know many places so he wanted to take me to an Italian spot. He had never been here either so it was fun that we were both experiencing it for the first time. They have reservations available on Open Table at all of their locations. We got seated on the patio and I ordered a glass of the Montepulciano which was excellent. We also ordered the Italian meatballs as an appetizer. These are among the best meatballs you will have--- so make sure you order that as an appetizer! They were amazing! I ordered the chicken parmesan for dinner. That's one of my go-tos when I'm testing out an Italian restaurant for the first time. The chicken parm itself is solid and I enjoyed it (although not the best chicken parmesan I've ever had). The pasta on the side was rigatoni which made my boyfriend and I laugh because it just looked like Mac and cheese as a side. It was okay-- tasted kind of dry and I didn't end up eating the leftovers the next day. All told, this is a great date spot location tucked away in Arcadia. Delicious Italian food that hit the spot after a long day of travel! I debated for a while between the tortilloni, the Bianca pizza, and the bolognese. Our waitress said that the bolognese is really true to the style of Italian food that they do, so I went with that. It really was amazing. The noodles were cooked perfect and the sauce was fresh and unique. My husband got the chicken parmesan, that came with some pasta on the side. First of all the ambiance is awesome and beautiful. I had an Old Fashioned and it was superb. We ordered the lunch salad, one was with chicken the other an Italian salad. My favorite dishes include a rotating honey/ spicy sopressatta pizza, bolognese and the spicy vodka, the butter cake is good too. very yummy. My husband and I usually sit the pasta and they will bring it out in two plates for us. Ambiance is great as well, the light is dim during dinner. Great place for social gatherings, dates, family dinners, celebrations. I will say it can be loud in there at times with all the chatters. This was my second time at a North Itialia (first time was back home in Orlando) and my only advice is... Get the Spicy Rigatoni Vodka pasta!! I don't have a high tolerance for spice so it was a bit on the spicier side for me, some people might laugh at that statement after trying it, but regardless of the spice level I still ate the entire thing and wished I had more! The pancetta in the meal was sooo good. My boyfriend got the Chicken Pesto and while I thought my meal was better he insisted his was best. We were both happy to disagree! North use to be one of our most fave restaurants. Unfortunately, the take out is awful!! We placed an order and were given a time for pick up. After waiting an extra 20 minutes were told they didn't have it. My sweetie had to go inside and find out what happened since we had an order # and paid for it. They finally found the order but by the time we got home it was so greasy and parts were inedible. Wish we had gone somewhere where we know we can pick up an epic meal w/o the fiasco we got last night. Light flooded seating area, vibrant red accents, wood tables, modern hanging lighting fixtures, and an aesthetic bar. Day or night, the environment is perfect. Food is excellent. All of their pastas are incredible. They have different pasta shapes that pair perfectly with their different sauces. Everything tastes fresh, no soggy overcooked noodles here. This review is a little late but as my mother used to say " better late than never. " The food, ambience, and service was incredible! Our waiter Mike B was hands down the best server we have ever had! His precision to detail, infectious personality, and food/wine knowledge were unparalleled! My wife and I have dined at the best restaurants in the valley and have never experienced the type of hospitality that we received from Mike! Every time I come here it feels like you're with family is such a beautiful ambience and the portions are just perfect.

I decided I wanted some good pasta so we came here due to good reviews! Upon arrival there's very sweet valet attendants to take care of parking for you. We were told by the hostess that it would he about a 30 minute wait time. We sat outside in the waiting area that had misters so it was never too hot. When we were finally seated, we were approached by our server who seemed really nice. The atmosphere can be quite loud and but I equate that to people enjoying themselves and having a good time. I ordered the Bolognese. It was good and plentiful. My only complaint is that my server could've been a little more attentive. We waited over 15 minutes for someone after the check was brought to us. Was excited to try out a new place for my birthday and thought the ambiance of this place was nice with outdoor seating. The bolognese and the prosciutto bruschetta were delicious. The pig pizza and the zucca chips were just okay. The zucca chips were oily and weren't that crispy and the pizza dough itself wasn't as good as other Italian restaurants we've tried.
