Wow, this place is great. Handmade pizzas and pasta, really fresh ingredients, and flavorful dishes. I was very surprised to learn that this is a chain restaurant! The quality of the food is superb, and definitely superior to most chains out there. The arancini are delicious. Crispy fried exterior, with a soft and cheesy interior, served on top of a tasty marinara. Yum. The Funghi pizza is outstanding. Excellent crust, lots of mushrooms, onions, and just the right amount of cheese. It's so flavorful, and one of my favorite pizzas. I had a tomato soup that was also wonderful. I'm not gonna bullsh*t y'all the first time I came here I had a MASSIVE case of food poisoning and threw my brains out the entire night. I honestly didn't even make it home I had to pull over and throw up it was so bad. But never less I ABSOLUTELY LOVED the atmosphere in this establishment and knew as soon as lingering ache of my illness went away I would be back. And two weeks later once I could finally get out of bed I was back. And boy was it worth the wait. It was even better than I remembered the first time... I just stayed away from the vodka pasta this time (the cause of my previous illment- a real shame since it's normally a favorite of mine but now the sheer thought of it transports me back to that one Saturday night gripping the sides of the porcelain throne for dear life just unloading vodka pasta out my throat praying to god he would let me out my Missouri). Never less this time i chanced my luck again and boy was it worth it hey at least if I did get food poisoning a second time it would be in time for summer so it's a win win. I've been here a few times and can tell that Cheesecake Factory has recently took over. Service and food were both not great. We had a reservation for 6, and had to wait to be seated. I love this location. Great atmosphere though when it's full it can be noisy (as is any full restaurant). Always sit at the bar to order. Audrey is fantastic. She's friendly and every cocktail is perfect. The Nonna's Reviver is my favorite cocktail ever. Even though it's on the brunch menu, she (and the other bartenders) are always accommodating and make it (I always go during the week). It's sweet and refreshing. The bolognese is superb, the arancini are incredible and the burrata anolini are delectable. I've never had a bad dish at North. okay.. ive been coming to fox concepts for years now, (even worked at cdo for 2 years so i know the standard of what its supposed to be) ANYWAYS. north is always great when youre craving pasta. i was craving their squid ink pasta and it just was not up to par.. the sauce especially.. it's supposed to be spicy, and all i tasted was extremely salty tapenade or capers.. something of the sort because it overtook the flavor completely and i didnt have the heart to tell them about it, which is why im writing this review. also had some chicken alfredo the other night and the noodles were so tough.. so undercooked.. i sent it back because i just could not enjoy it. step your game up, north italia! read more

Tis the season for Holiday Festivities. I started my holiday season with hosting a White Elephant Brunch for 14 people at North Italia. Oh, what a good time! It was a first time visit for everyone. I made the reservation for my group about 1 month prior and followed up about a week before to confirm our final number. Management, the host staff and server, Robert, were all so accommodating. We visited North Italia this past Sunday ... Sunday Funday ... Happy Hour all day baby! Happy Hour includes $5 Red Sangrias, $6 Mimosas and Bellinis, Half off Bottles of Wine, $20 Board and Bottles. Can't beat it! Majority of us stuck with Red Sangrias and Mimosas. The Dirty Almond Chai was also a winner. Everyone ordered different items ranging from Short Rib Hash, Veggie Scrambles, Breakfast Wrap, Nonna Casserole, Americano, Mussels, Strozzapreti and Lemon Donuts. I must be honest here .... We thoroughly enjoyed the taste of every single dish, everything was season and cooked to perfection. However, a few dishes came out cold, everything else was lukewarm. Nothing came out hot except for the Nonna Casserole (which was my favorite dish by the way). We were starving so we chowed down. Everyone mentioned their food wasn't that warm but one person absolutely had to send her dish back ... the veggie scramble. You can't enjoy cold eggs. Robert was so on point! She told him the food was too cold to enjoy, he took it back and brought a fresh, steaming hot, delicious veggie scramble in no time. Also, the mussels were a little disappointing. Although they had a nice flavor, majority of them were empty or really small. My friend ordered them and told me to dig in. I took about 4. Three of them were empty ... seriously, so I only tried one. They were pretty small too. The manager was kind enough to take them off her final bill. A few of us ordered the short rib hash, again, the flavor was out of this world good but the serving size was small. There may have been 3 small pieces of short rib on top of crispy potatoes with 2 fried (runny) eggs and grilled bread. This is important to note because everyone ordered an extra side of crispy potatoes because the menu didn't say the short rib hash comes with potatoes. Be sure to specify how you'd like your eggs cooked because they come fried very light and runny. It's definitely not your ordinary short rib hash. I hope the pictures illustrate how much of a good time we had because we did. We're planning to try them again soon for Happy Hour. read more

We LOVE North. We usually sit at the bar and every time, the bartender on duty is friendly and informative. Often we ask about their different wines and each time we learn something new. The meatballs and polenta are absolutely amazing. But so are most of the other items on the menu - chicken parm, bolognese, pizzas. They have a daily pizza special which never disappoints. One of my favorite Italian places , if not my favorite Italian restaurant in Phoenix/Scottsdale area . The food is always delicious, and I've tried almost all of their pasta dishes . My absolutely favorite and the one I keep getting is the squid ink . The black noodles are fun and unique to eat , and the sauce is divine ! Another favorite is the braised short ribs - both the pasta and the entre ! The meat is extremely soft and tender. My partner liked the sauce , but I wasn't a huge fan - I liked the meat though ! For the appetizer , we didn't really care for the bruschetta; I'm not a huge fan of fake truffle oil but that's just me . The staff has always been nice and accommodating. One time I brought my puppy in a doggie backpack and the waitress allowed us to stay inside the restaurant because it was blazing hot out . We really appreciated that ! I can't believe I haven't written a review for North yet. It is my go to Italian spot. The spaghetti and meatballs are among the best that I have ever had. The pasta is always cooked to perfection. Dinner here was delicious. We sat outside on the patio and the heaters were great. We shared the striped bass (UNBELIEVABLE), Bolognese pasta (perfectly aldente, hot, and delicious!) and the seasonal veggie salad (heavy on the veggies/ingredients which is just how I like it). Our server Jacob was incredible, and the new manager, Skye, came to check on us and gave us personal service as well. Definitely recommend for date night, birthday dinners, or girls night. I have eaten at this location and the Kierland location at least 20 times. It was a solid 4 star (consistently good but not amazing Fox Restaurant). I have never been disappointed until yesterday. It was busy like it usually is. The staff was still friendly and solid. The first thing I noticed was a slight increase in the price of a few dishes/happy hour items. The second, The Board was a smaller portion with less veggies, cheeses, bread, etc. In addition, the pizza came out slightly warmer than room temperature. The kitchen was VERY slow. I suspect that this is do to new management and new processes. I took a look back at the kitchen and wonder if they also are cutting corners by decreasing staffing?? Good luck. Hadn't been to this location yet, but have loved every visit to the Tucson and Austin locations. The Scottsdale restaurant did not disappoint, it was outstanding! Our party of 4 received excellent service and the meal was simply delicious! Cocktails, service, food - all wonderful. Perfectly Italian! North Italia served delicious thin crust margarita pizza with fresh mozzarella. The chicken cutlet Parmesan was praised by our NY to AZ transplant and smelled so aromatic! I had the scallops with risotto - perfectly cooked and seated in garlic butter. The pasta bolognese was a rich and flavorful dish. Excellent sauce. My husband raves about his short rib dinner. We saved room for dessert and each dessert was uniquely wonderful. Professionally prepared and beautifully presented. Overall, the food was wonderful. Servers are attentive and knowledgeable. Exactly what you would expect from a Fox Concepts restaurant- great food, great service, and a great atmosphere. My friend and I had already eaten so we just stopped in for dessert. This place is one of my sisters favorites! They have a wonderful happy hour special of a bottle of wine and a pizza for $20. Hard to beat. The boards are full of wonderful delights and we have yet to try anything that we did not like. The wait staff is very happy helpful and efficient. Use the valet parking because the parking is minimal and when valeting they get you in and out fast. Seating is great inside or out. They have wonderful misters and heaters to help when seating out on the patio one of our favorite areas or inside has wonderful views of the great looking bar and modern decor. Good place to met for a date with your wife for happy hour or romantic night on the town. Dress can be casual or up scale it all depends on you. We first experienced North Italia in Anaheim, California and we were so excited to learn that there was one here in Arizona. However, our experience with food and service was totally different. We were so pleased with our food and service that we decided to try the Phoenix location. We made reservations, ordered the same items we had in Anaheim, California and the food was not up to par. The pesto spaghetti we ordered was warm and greasy, we didn't finish it and left it there. The calamari was greasy. We did enjoy the Tuna Crudo and the Charcuterie Board. Dessert took forever! We ordered the Banana Coffee Cake and had to wait a very long time, it took so long our server comped it. You can probably see the recording of how long we waited. Went here with my daughter and her boyfriend. While the food was decent ,there were several flies around our table and we were inside. What the worst part was my card was charged twice. I called and spoke to manager who put me on hold for several minutes and hung up on me twice. When I asked when this would be resolved she told me if in fact the charge went through then I'd have to wait for corporate to get involved. This is totally unacceptable. We got the salad which had pine nuts and feta cheese and that was delicious. The dressing was very good. That was the highlight of our meal. We ordered the bolognese and it was not good. It was salty and did not have a good flavor. We ate it because I have a fear of sending food back. Not sure how I went so long before making it to this place! In typical Fox Restaurants fashion this place is full of ambiance and charm. From our table we were able to watch as they made food and it was very entertaining while not being overly distracting. We came here a little before 1 on a Sunday and were seated immediately. I was pleased to find out that Happy Hour is all day on Sunday! We ordered the zucca chips (zucchini chips) and they were fantastic, definite must have. Both the Bolognese and Italian grinder were tasty and I'd be happy to eat either dish again. I regret not having enough room for dessert but that's OK because it just means I'll have to come back soon!
