We dined here recently with a big group, 8 of us. We'd been to a couple of different places before trying to get seating, but they were all full. Nose Dive sat us right away (which maybe was telling?). The atmosphere was really cool and our waiter was very friendly. We ordered a few appetizers: 1. The Mussels: Cooked very well and I liked the sauce they came in 2. Grit Fritters: Sounds great in theory, just kind of OK in reality. A little bland, even with the pork on top. 3. Pulled Pork Nachos: the best of the appetizers we got. 4. Black Eyed Pea Hummus: Good, but a little bland. I liked the idea of it, but I think it could use a little improving. For entrees, I tried the Diggy Burger, which was really delicious, but I was so full from all of the appetizers that I couldn't eat anymore. Drinks: I really liked the candy apple, and I'd come back to the bar for the Hendrix Experience for sure. Have eaten at The Nose Dive twice now and let me tell you, the food is really good, the service is great (water filled the whole time). We got a kick out of the 3D sign out front, in fact, it's what drew us in, that and the menu posted on the sidewalk. This place has a nice atmosphere with a comfortable upstairs bar. Went for some appetizers as opposed to a full meal 1st was the smoked salmon dip platter with chips. This was the wrong starter. Chips were stale and no salmon was to be found in our dip. This was sent back.. I felt like this was from local grocery store or SAMs club 2nd was the hummus and olive appetizer. Now the hummus was truly delicious. The focaccia bread was crisp and tasty but the accompanying olives had pits.. They were good but seriously --who wants to nibble around or spit out pits! 3rd as meal we shared a shrimp burger It was pretty bland it was hard to taste the shrimp and probably over done. We decided to give this restaurant a try based on the open air atmosphere and the unique menu posted out front. We were seated promptly and it was late lunch Sunday .We found all staff to be friendly and attentive . We ordered fish and-chips and Mac n cheese with fried chicken and it was very good and crispy it's the best we've ever had . The menu was reasonably priced for lunch , most items $10 . LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS PLACE!!!!! I can't get over the amazing lunch I had there. Nested in downtown Greenville, my friend and I wanted a quick bite to tie us over until a later dinner. So she took me here because I wanted some good southern food. The menu offering is a new modern twist on traditional Southern dishes. Since it was later in the afternoon, the restuarant wasn't too crowded. We were offer a table outside away from the sun and that was really nice because it was a nice warm afternoon, but with a bit of humidity. Since we weren't really hungry, we decided to share everything. We started with the grilled cauliflower and shishito peppers then we ordered the chicken and waffle with a side of sweet potato fries. I've never had grilled cauliflowers before, but it was delicious. They had an orange dipping sauce that with a hint of spicy which really complimented the dish. Then the fried chicken....WOW. I really enjoyed the chicken. To my dismay, it was a bonless skinless chicken; generally, that tends to be dryer meat. BUT, it was fried to perfection and the breast was very moist. I love putting some hot sauce on the chicken then dip it in real maple syrup for that sweet and hot taste. The sweet potato fries were fried to perfection. Nose Dive also has a good selection of craft and IPA beers. I ordered a hazelnut beer which was a great paring with all the food we ordered. Man I love the food here. read more

Diggy Sandwich (Chopped beef belly , Smoked Chipotle Glaze, Cheddar on Texas Toast) washed down with a Quest Kaldi Impetial Coffee Stout. Even though we had the honors of being the training aids for a waiter in training the service was spot on. The beer was rich, full bodied and smooth with coffee undertones. Very nice indeed. The sandwich was good. Not knock your socks off good but good. It has some flaws with the Texas Toast over powering the rest of the sandwich and the beef belly not as tender as I expected from a belly cut. With that said the overall flavor was good. This will not be my go to meal here but I would try it again . I did sample my wife's Smoke N' Hot Burger and it was much better than my selection. You don't get a lot but the taste makes up for that i guess lol i got the chicken sandwich and that was literally the smallest piece of chicken I've ever seen! This rating averages the 4 dinner visits we've made. Last night,a busy Friday, I called at 730 looking for a table for 4. We were at nearby Northampton Wines at a tasting. The maitre'D said if we came now it would be ok, he needed Table in question for a 9 PM reservation. We arrived by 7:40 and left at 9:05 with just one round of drinks and entrees. The kitchen was badly back logged ! On the positive side they had the positive touch of the Table 301 beverage team with an excellent choice of wines, beers and spirits I had the house salad with a wonderful avocado vinaigrette to start followed by the fish and chips; tasty but lacking moisture (perhaps sitting under lamps at pickup station). We had other guests with us who were first time diners, all the convincing we tried about much better experiences we had fell on deaf ears. Apps: Tried the Deviled Eggs 3 Ways. - i dont eat deviled eggs normally.. Plate came with: chicken salad egg, cheesy egg and normal deviled egg. i give it a 3 stars Black Eyed Peas Hummus: - first time trying - i enjoyed it, very good with an odd but refrehsing flavor. I give it 4 stars Dinner: BROUMANA CHICKEN SANDWICH Lebanese-Spiced Chicken, Mix Veggies, Pickles & Tahini GF* - this was AMAZING.. surprisingly yummy and unique flavors. i was hesitant but this was pretty good and you get a side. I DEF got the HERB TATER TOTS.. - they were big, bigger than normal tots and had a great taste to them. 5 stars Co worker ordered the Mussels app as an entree and for the 'Mussel Snob' she said she is, she said it was a decent plate of mussels and would order again. Spent the weekend in Greenville and had reservations at an Italian restuarant for dinner wanted to find a nice cocktail bar and stumbled into Nose Dive. The bar is upstairs and it's a nice environment. The bartender knew is stuff and made a Smokey and the Bandit for my wife. With a twist of lemon, he sparked the oil and gave the drink a great smokey flavor. We didn't eat but the menu looked good for burgers and salads. read more

If I could only say one thing about my experience with "Nose Dive" it would be that the food here has character. They definitely don't lack creativity and innovation when it comes to "re-factoring" old dishes to satisfy the emerging palate sophistication of the proletariat. This is what sets them apart form the rest of the pub food in Greenville, they go the distance to deliver dishes that we all know and love, with wonderful variations that both excite and engage their guest. PLEASE don't miss out on their "Braveheart Prime Beef" Burgers as this beef really is the best "single ingredient" burger in town. Wonderful fat content, and insatiable seasoning leaves this burger at the top of my 'favorites' list. Add a fried egg and bacon, affectionately called a "little breakfast." Pair this with an Oatmeal Stout and a side of massive in house "herb tater tots," and you cannot go wrong. They are situated in the heart of downtown right across from "Ale Yeah" which puts you in the middle of the action on Friday or Saturday nights which is awesome. They have outdoor seating which is fantastic, but if its all taken and you must sit in the dining room, note that it seems fairly dark inside. I usually do not visit in the middle of the day because there are many other venues that supply me with a little brighter experience, however, I do frequent this place after dark. The staff is fantastic, and have always been cordial. Whether we are just getting drinks upstairs, or eating Sunday brunch on the veranda outside, this place has not failed to deliver great food and courteous service. I came here for brunch with a girlfriend one day and it was a lovely experience. I am a huge champagne fan and they had splits of Moët, which was a nice touch. I have been to a number of places here in Greenville now and their champagne selection always leaves me wanting but here at nosedive I was pleasantly surprised. Ok I wanted to love this place. It was charming and menu looked on point. The one thing you can't afford to slip on is an uninspired cooking staff. This felt like kitchen and staff had no/nada love for the food on menu. Oysters that sounded divine were simply bland and tasteless. Mac and cheese was light and a tad watery. It wasn't terrible. Just plain no shouj. My lobster roll was finely chopped. I know we aren't in Maine, but, please use a tiny bit of copycat and leave lobster chunky. I want to savor it. This was our first visit - meeting friends here for conversation. I was impressed with the selection of beers as well as our waiter's knowledge of said selection. Several darks, some good Wits... decent list of wines also. We ordered a round of Pork Nachos for the table (Corn Tortilla, Cheddar Cheese, Pickled Jalapeños, Pico) they were delicious and plentiful enough to share among four people. Their menu presented an impressive selection of items that were difficult to choose between, an obviously good sign. Not a long menu, but sufficiently varied to make me happy. One in our group picked the Seared Salmon (Pork Belly Fried Rice, Vegetables, Cilantro, Pickled Cucumber Salad) it looked to be perfectly cooked and he indicated it was as good as it appeared to be. Three of us chose The Thai Chicken Curry (Spring Vegetables, Jasmine Rice, Cilantro, Pineapple Salad). This dish is a large bowl of curried chicken with a generous portion of rice on the side to mix to suit your taste. It was excellent, perhaps just a bit more curry than the typical curried dish in this country. Perfectly prepared... The place is informal, not too loud, service was excellent - no hovering with just enough attention to catch the need for refile, etc. We stayed a long time and were never pressed to leave our table. It's a modern place in the middle of the downtown restaurant district so reservations are likely going to be useful. My ultimate test; Would I go back? Yes... UPDATE: We so liked the place that we did, in fact, go back with a different couple. I have to admit that although I enjoy trying new things, I went for the Chicken Curry a second time. Found this spot when me and my boyfriend were in Greenville for the day. Got seated right away at 5:30pm, and got our food fairly quickly. My boyfriend got the Taziki burger which was amazing. A great traditional American pub like establishment with a modern feel. Big windows while located on Main Street makes Nose Dive a great brunch spot for people watching. Being in Greenville you can't be more central than being right on Main Street. The location alone makes this a 5 star restaurant. Now to the food; again it's traditional yet has some modem twists. The spicy chicken sandwich was great, packed with flavors. Another great dish we tried was the Chicken & waffles, which to me was the heat plate on the menu. The flavorful and very mildly spicy chicken with subtle sweet waffles was a great combination. Of course you can't get enough of the mimosas, especially considering the glass was only 4 each and the carafe (holding almost 4 glasses was 12). But have to add that the ratio of orange juice to the champagne made the mimosas a little too sweet. They need to up the champagne portion. Being centrally located do expect a wait time unless you have made reservations. We hadn't so there was a 35 min wait but their wait system is great. They take your number and text you when your table is ready. Meanwhile there's a lot to do nearby (helps with the wait time). Being a popular brunch place in Greenville and being a hotel restaurant, it's busy and hence the service is a bit slower. But again it's a fun place where you can easily enjoy brunch with family & friends without any rush. read more

I was pretty disappointed with my experience here. My wife and I came here for our date night and sat for long periods of time with no word from our waiter. He would sit at a table nearby and mess with his phone and I couldn't get his attention. When he was around he was very "attentive" of my wife. Definitely got a vibe that he was ogling her. He never did anything that was inappropriate, but he was occasionally "weird." For food as expensive as it is I expected it to be better. I got the roasted chicken and it was not bad, until I found a part that was almost raw. I brought it to the waiter's attention, after trying to flag him down for 15 minutes, and he said he would mention it to the chef and proceeded to tell me it was nothing to worry about "that's just the way it looks sometimes." Didn't offer to replace or fix it in any way. For what I ended up spending at this restaurant I was not happy with the quality of service or the food. The J/J Burger Tour stopped in after the Diana Krall show and ordered the Gastro Pub burger. This has American cheese and lettuce and tomato. I thought it was good but just a bit undercooked. It was about medium rare, which is fine. And I just read a review below which say cooking it MR is illegal in S.C.(???)The burger was juicy and tender and I liked the toppings and especially the sweet potato fries. Only one small complaint, and I keep this separate from the food; bartender wasn't too friendly. Maybe a long night, bad day. Doesn't matter. Be professional, ok? We always sit at the bar (the best service), always order the $12 mimosas carafe or two and enjoy our meal (for me, the gluten free grilled cheese ). This is certainly the new Greenville! We stopped here for a quick lunch..I had the best salad! People watching is awesome here, the staff is on top of things. It can be crowded, we had to wait 10-15 minutes for a table, but it was worth it. Our server seemed to read minds, she knew when to ask if we needed help, and when to leave us alone (we were catching up with friends we hadn't seen in years).
