First 5 star review I've left for a restaurant. I had the lamb beef gyro and it was amazing! I would definitely get that again. My son also loved it. My husband had a chicken gyro and he also was very happy with his food. Ambiance was also very pretty and everyone there was friendly. We first came at the recommendation of our Greek neighbors and were thoroughly impressed. This was our third visit, so we've been able to try every gyro pita option and all have been a 10/10. The soup is a must-try, along with everything else. Everything is SO fresh and tastes very authentic. Nothing but good things to say about the service and they have even been giving free samples of their house baklava! Third time is the charm. In the last 10 years or so, this is the third restaurant to be in this building, but I think this time, it will be here to stay! Nostimo took what was previously the JD's BBQ place and converted it to a fast casual Greek restaurant, with a bright, beautiful interior for a fast casual place. Employees were friendly, establishment was clean, and service was quick. Food was unique and excellent. They have the type of gyro where the meat is chopped and formed as opposed to ground and formed. It was quite delicious, as were the other ingredients in the gyro. The fries they serve remind me of when I was a kid and my best friend's grandmother used to make us homemade fries. They are wonderful! On another note, they are also going to be using the drive thru soon, which I look forward to using on busier days. The only thing I didn't like was the pricing, which seems to be a bit on the high side, especially for a la carte sides, but not enough to deter me from a 5 star rating. Everything else was excellent, hopefully they can run some specials to encourage those of us that would like to visit their drive thru weekly without breaking the bank. Best luck Nostimo! read more

Utilizing YELP reviews to assist in my fascination with seeking out new foodie joints, I was intrigued by the description of Nostimo Greek Restaurant in Arlington Heights. My first impression was the clean and welcoming decor, which encouraged me to stay and experience my visit with delight. Unusual that my appetite required little, and as such settled on a side Greek Salad and the appetizer of Spanakopitakia. Both were served in design to entice my tastebuds, and subsequently delivered on the promise. The Salad had the correct variety, temperature, and zest as hoped for. The wonderful tasting and homemade spinach and feta appetizer alas, could use a bit more of the filling ratio inside its wonderfully crisp and flaky envelope. Almost upon completion, I was presented with a 3rd course tasting of Baklava for the finish. This palate is not so appreciative of high level sweetness, but my creative instincts rushed in as I dipped the small parcel into the remains of my Greek Salad Dressing (no judgements!) which balanced the flavors in a surprisingly awesome way! Addendum: I would be remiss not to comment on the less than pleasant service I received at the counter. Not rude as such, yet somehow dismissive. In addition, I feel that the cost of entries are several dollars more than comparable counterparts. Of course, I will be back to try the Beef and Lamb gyros when my tummy growls for it, and my pocketbook feels more relaxed. Overall, a pretty good pick!!!! read more

Really great spot for authentic Greek cuisine with all the offerings. Their gyros were cut and served perfectly and we chose the Greek roasted potatoes which were delicious. Tried this place for the first time tonight and was impressed. They did a nice job with the decor, it looks bright and cheerful and really clean. There were several non-meat items that I could choose from since I don't eat meat. Not even lamb. The rashini (so?) salad was delicious and fresh, the Greek fries were really good. My daughter really liked her chicken, and the Greek pop they have. We were both excited to see they had loukamades bc we'd only ever had them at Greek food festivals before. We took them to go and they give you the honey on the side to drizzle yourself. Sooooo good! Definitely going back soon. read more

Wonderful place for fast casual greek food! Zucchini fritters, Nostimo bowl and traditonal gyro were top favorites. The meat in the gyro was tender and juicy, not dry at all. And the pita was warm and fluffy! The one thing we didnt like was the calamari. The dining area is spacious with a nice esthetic. I finally made it to Nostimo and boy it did not disappoint. We first had wonderful service even though you order at the counter. Everyone was so friendly. We ordered the zucchini fitters and they were amazing! I will go back just for those! We also ordered the hummus. My boyfriend said it was the best he's had and the pitas were warm and delicious. We also shared the lamb and beef gyro entree with lemon rice and it was also good. We will 100% be visiting in the near future. read more

Nostimo is a home-run. Their avgolemono soup is superb. The traditional pork gyros are excellent. I have never had saganaki in the form of a 'fritter" before, but they're tasty. I do prefer the lighting of the fire traditionally but this is perfect for Nostimos' fast-dining atmosphere. Highly recommend. read more

Our first time and we had take out. As I pulled up the place looked inviting which is hard to find Once inside my food was hot and ready. The cups for my drinks were handed to me. This all means alot to me as service take out has declined On to the food the gyros sandwiches and kids meals was plentiful and mouth watering. Went here for late lunch with my dad after work since I was surprised it had opened so quickly. He loves Greek food but has had a hard time finding any nearby as a lot have closed over the years so he was cautiously optimistic as he can be very critical of food authenticity. Similarly the prices seemed quite high at first so we only got an appetizer and one entree to share. But upon our food being brought to us (in very timely manner as well) he recanted his feelings on the price after just one bite of the pork shoulder kalamakia. Aside from being absolutely delicious and perfectly cooked and tender, the one entree and the plentiful sides it comes with were more than enough to fill both of us up and well worth the price. All in all we payed $40 for an appetizer, entree, and a dessert and we both can say it was well worth it. On top of this, they also brought us an amazing baklava on the house and all the staff was very kind and accomodating. In terms of the restaurant itself it is incredible what they did to the place, you would have never guessed it was a sports bar before it nor a BBQ place before that. Its warm and inviting with traditional touches all over that add a nice charm. The signage of where to order and such being modelled off street signs you see in Europe gave my dad a smile as it's been quite a while since he's seen one in person. All in all it was an excellent meal and my family is so glad to have some authentic Greek food back in the area. We will assuredly be coming back again soon. read more
