This is a chain worth going to : ) I think it is the today version of what Long John Silvers was when I was a kid. Few locations in SE Michigan with basic seafood of course. I remember as a kid that LJS was tasty fried goodness, I did try it two years ago and it was horrible. I am not sure if it is a nice memory of the food or how it really tasted, so I will go with the was how it was years ago lol. Nu Wave has good basic deep fried food, nothing fancy. This is about the Lansing location - I am so angry about this. Decided to give them a try last Fri, stopped in and placed a take out order. Waited about 15 min (was treated to the cashier yelling for several min at another employee at the front counter). Finally the cook sticks his head in and says that he just arrived and would start our order right away but it would be another 15 min wait. Immediately told the cashier we weren't willing to wait that long and just wanted a refund. She said she didn't know how, and called the manager. The manager told her that they don't do refunds on credit card orders (we had paid with Discover) and she was not allowed to give cash back. He just offered more food instead. We asked the cashier for the managers information and she said she didn't know his real name (!) they all just called him King and gave us his cell phone number. I was pretty flabbergasted at all of this. I placed a chargeback through Discover, but the $15 is really beside the point. It's going to cost them more than the $15 in the long run, that's not how you treat customers. read more

I have eaten at Nu Wave so many times the fried chicken is like something your mother made when you was a kid but only a little better. My only problem with the fried bird is it looks more like a Cornish hen than a chicken because the wings are so small but they are tasty.
