This is a place you feel like you trust when you walk in. It's look, has a cool look and the staff was super friendly. We sat at the bar top where there is a large selection of beers and the bartender was very attentive. I went for the turkey burger, adding bacon, which was lights out. My GF got the bacon cheese burger on a Gluten free bun, who barely took a breathe between bites. All in all, a good little place to pop in for a drink or something to eat. read more

This is a great place that I will be visiting regularly. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming. I have been twice with my wife. The first time it wasn't too crowded, the second time it was packed. The service was actually faster the second time, but both times it was acceptable. The best thing was the food! Great wings in my opinion, fresh and perfectly cooked. THe menu is full of comfort food type items like Chicken Parm, Steak TIPs, Burgers, Chicken Alfredo, Mac and Cheese, and Meat Loaf. So far I've had the Chicken Parm and Chicken Alfredo and my wife has had the burger and the catch of the day. I really like what you've done with the place :) The decor is really nice, The service was great and the food was solid. Nothing revolutionary, but it was really good food. I had the hummus platter as my meal (I was vegan for a minute) and it was really enjoyable. My cohorts had burgers and both were enjoyed. Probably will not go back again, not happy with our choices burger over cooked, Mediterranean salad with steak tips over priced. The burger was ordered med/rare came out med/well same with the steak tips. Don't order food with a temperature, in the past had to send back burgers being over cooked. We enjoyed the bacon burger and left coast burger, both cooked as desired with tater tots, love tater tots. I got the mac and cheese with jalapeno bacon and it was incredible. Not even that spicy, just super flavorful and the cheese was the perfect amount of creamy. One of the best mac and cheeses I've had. The service was also good and I enjoyed the decor. My wife and I dropped our daughter off at college in Worcester and stopped into the Oak Barrel. Dinner was fine, service was good, but like an idiot I left without signing my credit card slip. I figured they'd run the number okay, but felt really bad for leaviing without leaving our waiter a tip! So after realizing I called next day and explained. Our server actually was there and they put him on I apologized and asked that he pull our bill and add $20 to it, but he insisted it wasn't necessary and thanked us for following up. We went to Oak Barrel Tavern the other night as a family for the first time. We were amazed by the decor as we walked in; everything looks great. Rustic yet classy. The menu provided us with many tantalizing options, which made it hard to choose! We each ended up getting something different so we could try multiple items. My husband got the buffalo Mac and cheese, which was incredible. It was very cheesy and not too spicy. I got the chicken parm sandwich and my sister got the buffalo chicken sandwich so we could share, both were delicious! My chicken parm sandwich was juicy with melted cheese and the perfect amount of sauce to cover everything but not make a mess. The buffalo chicken sandwich was of a similar style. My mom has the country fried steak and was very happy with her choice! It was cooked perfectly and came with multiple sides. A very large portion indeed. We were all very satisfied and enjoyed our meals! The tavern also had a good amount of craft beer and whiskey choices but we all stuck with beer. When he finally came back, there was no apology or hello. Hey hosts, that's your job. You don't serve food or drinks, literally you bring people to tables, try a smile and a pleasant personality. I was at Oak Barrel Tavern on a slow Sunday night. Our waiter was Jim. However, as I was waiting to be served, I saw Jim cough into his hands. Then I saw him start to clean the high chairs and baby seats. I was able to see him clearly and I wondered if he was going to wash or at least sanitize his hand before bringing our food. He did neither. It was disgusting. I watched where his fingers were places on my dishes and avoided any contact with that area. Also, my order came with a sauce that I couldn't eat. Instead of offering me something else to put on the dish, I was served a flavorless entree. Fortunately, I had a little bit of ranch dressing, but it wasn't enough to give the food flavor. We just moved to the area about a year ago and are always looking for new places to enjoy a nice dinner. So glad we found this place! Located just a few blocks off one of Worcester's main drags (Gold Star Blvd), this place is easy to find with it's bold signage. The atmosphere is very friendly, clean, and New England chic. The furniture is comfortable and new - and there are multiple rooms to occupy based on how much privacy and intimacy you want. We sat in the main bar room, which featured a full array of 2 and 4 seat high-tops, a long line of comfy bar stools, and four huge televisions for watching all the big games. (March madness was the theme that night). The drink selection is vast -- featuring pages and pages of draught beer, bottled beers, craft brews, wines, and custom cocktails. Our server was very friendly and gave us time to look it all over. The menu is also huge -- offering plenty for all diets, vegetarians and vegans included! I had a delicious veggie burger and a side of seasonal mixed vegetables. The hummus appetizer is also delicious! It was only our first time there, but the place made a good impression on us and we plan to go back soon. Went to Oak barrel Tavern for the first time Saturday night. When we arrived we were greeted very nicely and shown to our table. Within a very short period of time our waitress came over and introduced herself and took our drink order. Since they have a large selection of bourbon my husband tried a new flavor that he hadn't had before and found that he really didn't like it very much. When our Server came back to check on how he liked his bourbon and he told her he didn't she offered to get him something else. He chose to keep what he ordered and ordered something different for his second drink. My husband had the ribs and I had the sirloin steak. Both meals were cooked to perfection and we enjoyed both our meals very much. For me, dessert was "to die for"!
