I have never written a yelp review before in my life but this place made me want to. I have absolutely no complaints. Service was fast and friendly, the lights were at the perfect setting to see but also not glaring in your face. The beer was fantastic, we got a coffee porter and an orange ale. For entrees, we got the truffle mac and cheese which is quite possibly the best mac and cheese I have ever had, a burger and tots, and the salmon with tons of amazing veggies as a side. Would 100% recommend.

A couple months ago we could not get into OBT on a Saturday night even at 7pm but now we know why. Pros: - Modern rustic vibe (think exposed wood, modern lighting fixtures and leaning into earth tones to complement the wood) - Friendly waitress - Good food options and decent portions - Fair pricing - DELICIOUS onion rings - Not the best blue cheese but it was good - Burger cooked to perfection - The beer cheese was tasty - Pretzels were just salty enough - Chicken tenders were crisped just right Cons: - Not heavy handed on sauces (Our BBQ bourbon burger barely had any sauce on it and I love me some sauce!) - Most of the garlic parm flavor on the tenders was a pile under the tenders on the plate (I had to dip onto the plate for flavor) This place is putting out some good stuff. We will be back to OBT again.

My mouth is watering just looking at my pictures from last night. Oak Barrel Tavern had a rustic comfy feel with a good sized bar with what appeared to have a good selection of beers , wine and cocktails. I'll get right to it and will say the potato nachos were a good portion , big enough to share. If this was my meal I would've added chicken. The southwest salad , again , big portion (great in my book) was packed with flavor I barely needed to add the yummy dressing. All ingredients in the salad were absolutely fresh. Service was good and I would totally recommend coming here. Ps - PLENTY of onsite parking.

Very pleased with our dinner. Me and my mother stopped here on our way back from our Montreal trip because we saw them on Phantom Gourmet. I got the pulled pork sandwich ($15) and for $2 extra I had onion rings on the side. The pork was tender, the bun was great and it was a decent size. But the onion rings were out of this world! So crispy and it had that nostalgic, diner taste to it. We shared some chicken wings for an appetizer ($13). 8 wings came with the order and they were cooked well and juicy. However, we didn't like the BBQ sauce they were tossed in. It almost didn't taste like BBQ sauce and it was way too heavy on the ketchup. If had no sweetness. My mom's entrée was the tavern harvest grain bowl ($15). It had a bunch of healthy stuff on there, but the portion was huge and I had to finish it for her. It would be kind of boring if it wasn't for the amazing ginger sauce they serve with it. My mom ordered a peanut butter stout for $6.50 and I ordered there shark bite cocktail for $10. The stout was really good, but I wasn't a fan of my drink. It tasted water down and I couldn't taste the alcohol. This restaurant is a really cool place to hang out and our server was so sweet and very attentive.

I stopped here on my way home from MA for dinner. The food was good and our service was great. Any questions we had about the menu were answered and she was great to talk to. The restaurant was clean and looked like a great place to come hang out. There were TVs on and we watched some of the Olympics. The food is good but the standouts were the dessert and the Buffalo Trace whiskey flight. It was a long trip home and this was a treat to ease the drive.

A menu board is posted over the order counter and two soft drink coolers to choose a bottled beverage from are next to the cashier. The menu offers a variety of sandwiches, salads and soups. There are a lot of sauces you can add to your sandwich if the menu doesn't specify what condiments are included. You can also make your sandwich a 'platter' if you want to add fries, onion rings and coleslaw to your sandwich. I ordered the roast beef and asked for horse radish sauce. There was a *lot* of sauce on this sandwich. So much so, that was all I could really taste so I'm not sure if I actually like their roast beef or not. I should have asked if I could get it 'on the side' I suppose. Live and learn. From what I could see under the sauce, the roast beef is cooked very rare. It was difficult to chew through and with all that sauce it made for a very messy meal. We ate in their dining room which is a small, pleasant space with lots of old photos of Worcester. The napkins available at the table are kind of useless. They smear the mess, they don't mop it up. I used a LOT of napkins trying to keep tidy while eating my sandwich. The fries were very good when hot. Crispy outside, fluffy inside. The coleslaw was almost without flavor. Salt and pepper are on the table. You're going to want those. Just watch that salt shaker, it comes out FAST! There is one restroom for all guests at the back, past the kitchen. It's clean and in good working condition.

Great people Great prices…read more Great food Great music On of my favorite places to listen to live musicians

Music= 5 stars, venue= 4 stars, food= 1 star, drinks= 4 stars, service= 2 stars, location= 1star…read more We've been here several times specifically to hear bands. It is located in the 'hood...feels sketchy just parking and walking in, even with the street lights on. Something about the trash blowing like tumbleweeds while police sirens blare in the background along with the quiet bump of hip hop just makes it feel so poetically grimy. Inside also feels grimy, which I guess is what some look for in a dive bar. (I personally differentiate "seedy and understated" from "grimy to the point of giving me the heebie jeebies".) There is dusty taxidermy all over the walls, some of which are wearing outfits- funny, I suppose, but just makes me feel uncomfortable to think of the globs of dust flying off into my drink or food. But before I ever noticed this, we had ordered a couple beers and a cheese plate. The beers came quickly, but the keg was definitely tapped- tasted flat. On other occasions we have had a decent mixed drink- the coca cola tastes normal and the ice to drink and liquor to mixer ratio is normal. The cheese plate- why they described this as a cheese plate is beyond me. It was one type of cheese- cheddar I think, with saltines still in the sleeve with a soup cup full of spicy Chinese mustard; some regular white onion slices were also piled sadly on the side. Pretty hilarious in all honesty! On another, busier night we were there and sat outside, which is pretty chill. Except that the staff rarely comes to clear old drinks so some tables are filled with empty glasses, making it so that no one can sit there. When you need a refill, you have to go back inside and shoulder your way through at the bar, which will have just 2 bartenders when they're slammed, one time (of the half dozen times we've been) I saw a bar back behind the bar helping. Needless to say, it takes about 10 to 15 minutes to get a drink at the bar on a busy night. The crowd is definitely mostly white (every time we have been, at least), which could be considered odd? The music is always either honky tonk, old people jazz, or folk music, and the musicians are always white. Overall, a fun place to hear live music (especially if you're white) and get a drink. Would not recommend for an extended stay or to get food.
