Been here maybe 4-5 times always ordering the same thing! Fish and chips and / or fish tacos. We've never ordered anything else, as we come here for that deep fried goodness. Each time, we've always been happy with the hot food and serving amount. We've only been here during/after covid so never experienced how it before but definitely will come again when we're craving! read more

This is a fast food, casual place where they bring your food to your table. I was not happy with my fish and chips that I had this afternoon for lunch. While it looked lovely on the platter, the fish was paper, thin, and strangely chewy. The side of coleslaw was nice and crunchy and fresh. However, there was no dressing of any kind to speak of, or the dressing was so light I really couldn't tell. I tried to peel away the coating of the fish however, it wouldn't peel away as the fish was just mushy on the inside, and it was all attached as one piece. Very strange! I will not be back for fish like that. read more

This was my first time here. I came for lunch with a friend. I have some dietary issues. I let the person taking my order know about all of my food sensitivities and allergies. I even asked / double-checked when the food was dropped off at the table. There was butter on the fish. I have a casein allergy. Of course, I didn't know / realize until several hours after the fact. I was pretty disappointed. I MIGHT give it one more go because my friend loves it so much. I hear they have live music sometimes. read more

Ordered the Ahi Tuna and the fried combo both with Brussel sprouts and zucchini. Ahi tuna was cooked perfectly and it was good size. I got the cajun sauce and garlic butter sauce on the side so I can try them both. The cajun sauce was a little bit salty, so I'd recommend getting it on the side, just in case. As for the veggies, I don't know alot of places that can make Grilled Zucchini taste good. So i think that's a plus. The Fried combo plate is a combo of shrimp and calamari. I thought there will be fish, but it's fine. The calamari was good and not chewy unlike other places I've tried before. Overall satisfied with my meal. Good food decent portions happy tummy..... If I could give this place zero stars, I definitely would. Came here to meet a friend and it just happened to be during happy hour. The restaurant was big, clean, with only workers in sight talking to each other. I go to the counter to order some salmon poke and the beef Korean bbq tacos. The salmon poke here was fresh, but the Korean bbq beef tacos were dry, lacked flavor and just plain terrible. When the employee comes to clean a table next to us, I told him about the tacos being dry. Unfortunately , most of the workers there don't speak English and didn't understand what I was saying. The worker just said "okay". 20 minutes later, the girl with long blonde hair comes and asks me what different tacos I want. At this point I'm already leaving and told her I had told him 20 minutes ago, that I did not want anything anymore. She said "okay" and picked up the tacos and left. While we were leaving, my friend approached her and said that her customer service and the way of handling clients was terrible; as to where the lady just said "yea". I will not be coming here and would rather go to California Fish Grill. Customer service is a huge part of my ratings, and this place doesn't have any. read more

They serve the best fish tacos this side of the 405. Very impressed with the staff and outdoor seating area. I Had a salmon taco plate with a side of brown rice and eggplant. It came with a mild and spicy salsa. I really liked the spicy version, It was both smoky sweet and spicy all at the same time. I'll be back to take some proper food pics. read more

Food: We ordered Fish and Chips and it was great. It was not greasy. It was crispy and flavorful. Damon Plate was good as well with their garlic butter in top. Service: It's not a fancy restaurant so I would not expect the great service. But they can do better by training staff. read more

I'm glad I checked this place out with my wife and daughter earlier this week. Their fish and chips are awesome and they come with a side (I recommend the kale slaw). The fried fish stands out because the batter stays attached to the fish when you take a bite! The portions are pretty big, the seasoning is delicious, and the crunchiness is phenomenal. I plan on coming back just for this dish. Haha. Lily provides great customer service too! read more

Food is to die for!!!! ugh, I come here way too much cuz its so good. Portions are pretty big so definitely get your moneys worth. One entree typically lasts me at least a day of leftovers. Service is great, they recommended the rice pudding and it was so yummy. I am glad I tried it. The ambiance is so cute! Definitely put a lot of time and effort into it. The little waterfalls and fire and so relaxing, especially in the evening. They also have jazz nights for free! I went with my friends and we had a wonderful time and will be back soon. read more

I went there for Happy Hour with my wife. Very nice restaurant with very nicely done decor in a very nice shopping center. There weren't a lot of people and we could pick our table. We sat indoors but the outdoor dining area was very nice as well. We walked to the counter and ordered...very nice young people, very courteous and helpful staff. I was very impressed with the service. I couldn't believe the prices and portions. The beers were pint sized, cold and flavorful. I ordered the street fish tacos and my wife ordered the ahi poke bowl. The fish tacos could be ordered grilled or fried...I ordered grilled salmon. Both dishes were well seasoned and fresh. I also ordered the clam chowder...very good, thick with lots of clams and potatoes. I would definitely order again. I can hardly wait to try other dishes read more

I dined there tonight for the first time. I ordered the starter calamari, which was enough for a meal for me. I also ordered the grilled salmon plate with two sides. The Brussel sprouts came highly recommended and they were delicious. I also got corn which was grilled with nice seasoning. The next time I want to try the coleslaw which I understand is delicious. The salmon plate had two big pieces. You can choose. What do you want to cooked with and I chose the lemon and olive oil. Definitely two meals for just the salmon for me. I highly recommend OC fish grill. read more

Came to OC fish grill on another Friday night for the live jazz. It's always a good time, but particularly good in the summer when the days are longer. Great service from the waiter Emir, but all the staff members are great. The fried zucchini is the best I have found around Irvine and I love their salmon tacos. Also a big fan of the carrot cake, but that's reserved for those nights when I need something sweet. If you can, grab some wine and get a seat outside to see the show. read more

The food is/was okay. When I walked in, I was told to sit anywhere. After a few minutes, no one came to the table... So I got up and went back to the front and asked do I order first... The reply was yes. Next, there was a sandwich board outside that said, happy hour with a menu, items, and prices. When I asked about it, I was told (as the server pointed to the clock) that it's 615 and they don't do that past 6pm. I suggested they take the sign down because about two minutes later, a woman walked in behind me and asked the same question. I could barely understand the server, and he could not understand me. I asked for the shrimp skewer platter ($16). I asked what sauce they grilled the shrimp with ...he had no idea what I was saying. I finally gave up and cross my fingers . The shrimp came with a side... I asked for the grilled zucchini and french fries. The shrimp were covered in a mild Korean chili barbecue sauce that was pretty tasty. BUT, the zucchini was swimming in the sauce. Next, I got a fountain drink. Had to ask for sugar to go with the unsweetened tea (all condiments were behind the counter). I also had asked for ketchup, and received three squeeze packets for the fries. Since I am only in this area a couple of times eight year, I will not be going back. If I was a local... Maybe. There are just too many good places with good service to worry about this one. read more

4.5 but let's round up cuz that Boston accent sounds like an Aussie ;) Happy Hour everyday! Calamari long style never seen this before also no aioli with it just ok. Coconut shrimp good. Another place I can't believe I didn't post - yikes and we go here A LOT! Food is always fantastic - Thai shrimp bowl is just the right amount of spice; taco Tuesdays highly recommend! Had their fish and chips once - HUMONGOUS and so so so yummy. Ambience outside is wonderful - inside is more like a basic cafe (which is fine it just depends on what you are in the mood for) I think my age is showing as I don't enjoy their live music as it's way too loud and you can't continue a conversation while it's going on. That being said the talent they invite is consistently really good. And they make great coffee! read more

I was looking for a healthy lunch option and I came across with this restaurant. First of all, nice facade. The outdoor seating area is cute and the tables were spaced out which it's always appreciated. Second, the ladies taking my order and servicing the food were super nice and friendly. I wrote a review already, but for some reason it gets deleted every time, so here we go again. Ordered food to go and it came extremely greasy and soggy. My tacos were impossible to eat and my fish and chips were disgusting. It was like eating old fried fish dipped in oil. When I got there my order was not ready and I am pretty sure they didn't even have it because they rushed to the tablet once I gave my name. Like, if you take online orders you should be able to handle it. I also went there another time and the food took forever. The salmon was way too cooked and the white fish was way too undercooked. It seems like they wanna make money no matter what and now their quality and services are terrible. I went on a Jazz night so it was pretty packed, but if you can't deliver some decent food for the price you charge (which is not cheap btw) then maybe you should consider changing how you do things around there. read more

I was really looking forward to trying the Turkish breakfast at OC Fish Grill, especially since I've visited Istanbul multiple times and absolutely love authentic Turkish food. Unfortunately, this place didn't come close to meeting expectations. The omelette in the skillet was served cold--almost as if it had just come out of the fridge. We ordered over-hard eggs for the kids, but they arrived runny. Even after asking for them to be cooked more, they still came back over-easy. The potatoes on the combo plates were also cold. On top of that, the coffee was mediocre at best. Today is Monday Jan 27 and picked up some friends to go for lunch. Every-time l eat here l feel l have to praise this owner. His food is so fresh and cooked, grilled, breaded, anyway he cooks l'll eat it. Today I ordered breaded zucchini some lovely grilled salmon e/ asparagus and sweet potato fries. And, of course, key lime pie...... oohhh my key lime pie! Food is fresh and healthy and dessert is decadent. It was warm outside today so we ate on the patio. This place just opened about two weeks ago and I'm so glad they did! They have the best fish and chips I have ever tasted hands down. My friend tried the white fish swai and she absolutely fell in love with it. It's nice that you get two sides of your choice with your meal as they have many options to choose from. The place is super clean and the employee was very attentive with our order. It is obvious that they care about every single one of their customers. I absolutely love grabbing Turkish breakfast at the spot right next to my gym -- it's become part of my routine. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. I have been to a different fish grill and this one is by far the best one! They have a great variety of food choices from fish plates to tacos. This place has a beautiful family environment. But in particular especially customer service oriented and welcoming. The crew working is friendly and The lady who runs this place we just met, is helpful, knowledgeable and kind. It would have been preferable if the cafe provided the olive oil sauce in a separate small container rather than pouring it directly on the to-go box meal. Unfortunately, by the time I arrived home, the sauce had leaked out and accumulated in the plastic bag, resembling a miniature pond - more suitable for a goldfish than my meal. Always heard about this place from close people but never actually tried it until the other day and let me just say, the food was absolutely DELICIOUS and although it can be a bit pricey but it is SO worth it! My server Daniel was very kind, funny and welcoming, I loved his energy and how quick he was to ask if I needed anything and to listen to my requests. Omg, I adore this place. The food is AMAZING, especially for the price. The service is fast and easy and the desserts are super yummy! I would 100% recommend the NY cheesecake.
