Most beach side restaurants are run of the mill, but not this place. * service: Sydney our server was attentive the entire time we were here. *ambience: fabulous decor, over the top music and everyone screened to have a good time *food: it was simply AMAZING. The evening started out nice enough. We ordered a round of cocktails. The espresso martini was awful. I sent it back to be remade, but it came out the same... watered down.. not delicious. Not sure if it was the bar tender or their interpretation of the iconic cocktail. Not up to par. My meal, while flavored well, came out with a hair. They refired the plate (shrimp and scallops) but the wait was too long. My dinner companions were completely finished by the time I got my food. It was very tasty but again just okay in terms of temperature. Scallops should be seared.. they were not seared. Overall the food was okay but nothing special for the price. read more

As for food- my husband enjoyed his burger but I order the only chicken on the Menu -not a sandwich -and was disappointed. Portion was good but the sauce lacked any flavor and I should have asked for salt and pepper since it's not on the tables. Wow! Driving through the area and we need to eat so we decided to stop here based on the interesting menu. After eating here I am really surprised by the mixed reviews. We had the pigs and figs pizza and the shortys pasta. The pizza had so much depth of flavor and was a good size for what I consider a "fancy" pizza. The pasta was homemade, loaded with short ribs which were tender and delicious. And to top it off it had fresh ricotta. For dessert we had the s'mores cheesecake which you can tell was homemade and had a delicious bourbon caramel sauce. The service was excellent, the food was creative and flavorful. If people are complaining about this restaurant- I'm really interested to see where they're going that has better food??? I may have to make more trips from Orlando to Melbourne Beach to come back and try some more dishes. I only took a picture of the dessert as we were so hungry we wolfed down the rest! read more

Visiting from San Diego we chose this place based on the reviews, expecting great service and food. Let's start with our server- it seemed as soon that she realized we were not ordering alcoholic beverages her attention to us dwindled. It took 20-25 mins after she gave us menus to take our order- to note there were at least a dozen ppl on staff and it was not busy. The food came out quickly and looked great; however, the pork chop was not cooked through and had to be sent back. We weren't upset, did not make a scene, just asked nicely to make it right. Not once did the manager or waitress check on us or our order after this- only came back to collect the check- did not apologize, nothing. Customer service alone was awful and we'd never return based on this. read more

Food was just ok- not quite sure why it is so popular. Lively, modern vibe may have to do with it. Entrees have cute names but behind the pithy descriptions, you won't taste anything as creative. From shrimp risotto to a poke bowl, to a kale salad with salmon - everything was good - not great. Cocktails did live up to their catchy monikers - if you you like Bourbon and tart and zesty, try the Backsliding Presbyterian. Side note that set the wrong tone right off the bat- even though we made a reservation, we waited 20 minutes to be seated. We were offered a spot at one of the shared communal tables but we made a reservation and wanted to be seated at a table. Kind of annoying- but lots of apologies helped soften the hangry. read more

Great food & great drinks. We have been three times and it's always been good. My wife has a gluten allergy, and they do have a pizza she loves (gluten free) and there was a mix up in the kitchen, but our waiter intercepted the wrong pizza and literally saved my wife from an allergic reaction. So super thankful for that waiters conscientiousness!! My food was great too, on the special list, a braised beef or something, it was great! Nice atmosphere, definitely recommend it. We have visited this same spot through the years and have seen different eateries come and go but me thinks this place is here to stay. Great vibe and we were glad to see they kept a bar. Service was prompt, friendly and attentive. Salad was not only good but close to a religious food experience if that is even a thing. short ribs didn't disappoint and neither was the chicken dish. It was a busy night but everything came out perfect. I hope the locals will support this place because it deserves the love! Disappointed. Have eaten at Ocean 302 on multiple occasions with friends and family and have always had good food and good service. Took our daughter this week for her work anniversary. Again, food was good and we had exceptional service. Ordered cocktails, appetizers and dinner options for 3; bill was approx. $120, not including a very nice tip for our waiter (Ivan, who was awesome). It was a special occasion and we expected as much. However, on the bill was a 0.75 charge for a extra side of chili sauce requested for our appetizer. Literally a tablespoon of what I would consider a condiment. I did speak to the general manager about it who appeared to be unconcerned and offered many excuses why they would charge extra for such an item. That $0.75 charge cost them a customer and ruined our evening. We'll never be back. Hope it was worth it. read more
