Just awful. We only waited under five minutes to be seated, which was perfectly fine, given the crowded busy restaurant. We were shown to our table and given menus. No water, no silver. We had breakfast on a Sunday. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. We went early, so no wait time. The dining area was clean and orderly. I had the croissant sandwich and home fries, husband had the french toast breakfast. Food came out timely and was good. I will note, the prices are a bit steep, I wanted the burrito, but couldn't justify the $17 cost. It's a tourist town, so it's expected that it's a bit costly, but not really justified for some of the options. Best Mac & Cheese ever. I like to consider myself a mac & cheese connoisseur of sorts. Most mac & cheese is typically gooey and cheesy but not anything truly exemplary. However, this mac & cheese is truly phenomenal. I have had a lot of mac & cheese in my life and genuinely, nothing compares to Ok Cafe's mac & cheese. Incredible cheesy perfection. When dining in I'll usually get their thanksgiving plate with turkey/sweet potato. I like that their turkey isn't dry... I also love how they consider mac & cheese a "vegetable" on their menu. Their cornbread is also good (your classic crumbly cornbread). Grilled cheese is also solid. Honestly, haven't had anything here that I wouldn't mind ordering again. OK Cafe is one of those Atlanta institutions that, when you hear the name, you know EXACTLY where you are. In the heart of the ritzy West Paces Ferry area of Atlanta/ Buckhead, just off I-75 South. I have been coming here for 39 years since the beginning when visiting my Aunt and Uncle off of West Paces Ferry. This is the quintessential diner/family spot with lots of comfort food options. My go to for dinner is usually pot roast or a burger. But we came for breakfast and they do breakfast RIGHT! Come hungry whenever you come! I had an omelette with potatoes and a biscuit and a short stack of griddle cakes. The griddle cakes were bigger than I've seen in most places. Fluffy and perfect! Our service has always been excellent, quick and efficient. The place is spotless! (Most recent score 100!) Lots of table sizes and great for large parties from what I could see. You will find some beautiful folk art and other pieces all over the walls. My favorite is the one I snapped below. Really cool textured painting of Atlanta showing the most identifiable spots in Atlanta. I cannot express enough how much I enjoy this place every time we come here. We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was crowded but we managed to get seated right away. The place remained me of an old school diner. Our waitress was awesome and gave us recommendations and kept our drinks full. From the time we ordered to the time our food showed up was less than ten minutes. The food was great and the portion size was large. Overall it was a good experience but next time I'll order from the takeaway side. The takeaway side has items I like that's not on the menu. Went to OK Cafe for the first time in years (since before the fire) and got the crab/crawfish cake special. I'm always leery, having lived in Maryland for several years and love a real crab cake. I asked if it was lump crab meat and not all filler, and was told yes. They were ok, but no lump crab. The squash soufflé was really good and the sweet potato was delicious. Think of this place as an upscale local diner. Even though it seemed there were many people waiting to be seated, my fiancé and I did not wait more than 5 minutes to be seated. They gave us a big table, but we suggested sitting at the bar since that table could be reserved for others with more people. I had a regular scrambled egg breakfast, and it was good. Finally made it to Ok Cafe which was amazing!! We came here after seeing a movie on a Saturday night and it was PACKED. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes for a table for 3. Once seated I got the house made cherry cola and omg it was stunning. You could tell it was homemade with the red tint and it was crisp and refreshing. For my meal I got the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and green beans it was so yummy. Delicious southern cooking in a charming restaurant. My luncheon companion and I went to OK CAFE, a place I havent been to in a long time. It had a massive fire a few years back and had been rebuilt. WOWZA!!! It is now way larger than before but still has ample parking. We entered through the backdoor through their newly added cafeteria style to go room. There in addition to refrigerated cases, they had almost the whole lunch menu laid out. I saw what I ultimately ordered and it all looked fresh and yummy. The wait staff hustled with purpose and efficiency. The restaurant has a new room whose central theme is a huge tree coming up from the floor with money attached to all branches like leaves. They clearly wanted a dramatic focal point and they hit the mark. Their expanded curving lunch bar accommodates a lot of folks comfortably. The prices were mid range and the portions more than ample. Anytime of day oe night, OK is the OK place to get a fix for superb southern style home cooking. read more

A cool find with delicious food! This spot is right off of I-75 and we were seated right away around 2:30 on a Saturday. The restaurant has two sides- one is a take away bar and has some different options than the restaurant menu and about $12/lb. The restaurant is cutely themed with a retro diner vibe, including the servers and cooks in old school uniforms. The menu is southern fare and let me tell you, is some of the more flavorful southern food you'll find in any restaurant! We loved the flavors of everything we ordered- the pork chop, the Mac and cheese, the collards, the squash casserole, the black-eyed peas, and and the country-fried steak. All delicious! Ok cafe is a misnomer to me. It's not just OK , it never is . It's easy to access right off I75 but the food is far better than OK. Yes it's a cafe but I had a burger here and it was amazing . OK Cafe is so cute! The interior is in a retro 50's style with cute booths and servers in old timey waitress and waiter clothes. The food is classic southern cooking. I had the country fried steak with Mac and cheese and collard greens. All were very tasty. The cornbread was very moist and delicious too. There is ample space inside and they have in big letters on the wall that you'll never have more than a 10 minute wait to be seated, which I found to be true even though I was there on a weekend. The grits are phenomenal. Creamy , without a gritty texture. Not watery and just the right amount of butter. The grits are cooked by someone who understands grits. The only complaint was the store bought biscuit. I have no problem with store bought biscuits as it is expedient for the restaurant. The issue was mine was served cool and not hot. Otherwise 5-star breakfast experience. I only ate half so not worth complaining. This is a nice clean fast service highly quality food experience. This place is UNREAL. Being new to ATL I stumbled upon this place only for it to become my all time favorite restaurant. Food is fantastic! I feel like I'm eating my grandmother's scratch recipes with everything. Everything is super fresh and you can tell too! Staff is always amazing- helpful, bubbly, southern hospitality. I was pleasantly surprised that a place like this still exists- novelty and all. Great throwback, nostalgic vibes for sure! As for the food, you truly can't go wrong. First time here and the food was really good! We got the lunch special with fried chicken, mashed potatoes, and green beans. It also came with cornbread and white gravy. The chicken was really good, crunchy and juicy but not too salty! The mashed potatoes were buttery and the green beans were also good but not special. The cornbread wasn't dry compared to many other places and was also pretty good. Overall really loved the food! The service as fast and our waitress was very friendly! The inside has kind of an older diner feel to it, which is comfortable. The only thing was the price, the portions were quite large but it was still $18 for one portion which is a bit on the higher end. The food was really good though, will be back! read more

Our family went off to the Kristmarket in Buckhead and wanted to stop off at a different place to eat. originally Houston's was on the list but the wait is infamously long. OK Cafe is an Atlanta institution. They are always packed for breakfast on the weekends and busy the rest of the time. Pancakes are fluffy and delicious and the grandkids love them. Burgers are also delicious but we often come here for the meat and two or three. I love the salmon patties and my husband loves the meatloaf. Sides are good (don't miss the squash casserole) and they offer a nice selection. Service is friendly and prompt, and the restaurant itself is so cute.
