It has been WAY too long since I've been to OK Cafe, and forgot how charming it really is! There was a brief wait for party of two at 6pm on a Saturday despite their sign saying no wait. It was only about ten minutes though so not a big deal. Service was initially prompt and friendly as always. I was really craving some warm veggies, and they offer a wide selection to choose from. Carrots were not that flavorful, but everything else was on point. Bustling and colorful dining room filled with patrons of all ages, from young families to elderly couples. We ordered two desserts to-go because the dinner portions were very filling. Had plenty of leftovers and enjoyed every bit of it!

Best Mac & Cheese ever. I like to consider myself a mac & cheese connoisseur of sorts. Most mac & cheese is typically gooey and cheesy but not anything truly exemplary. However, this mac & cheese is truly phenomenal. I have had a lot of mac & cheese in my life and genuinely, nothing compares to Ok Cafe's mac & cheese. Incredible cheesy perfection. When dining in I'll usually get their thanksgiving plate with turkey/sweet potato. I like that their turkey isn't dry... I also love how they consider mac & cheese a "vegetable" on their menu. Their cornbread is also good (your classic crumbly cornbread). Grilled cheese is also solid. Honestly, haven't had anything here that I wouldn't mind ordering again. Such a homey spot and always consistent food and good service. I cannot stress how delicious their mac & cheese is. One of my favorite meals ever.

Very retro inside. Do you see the letters OK carved in the wood rails?

We enjoyed this restaurant with our friends who have been for more than 20 years and love it!! She describes it as going into her grandmothers kitchen Love the retro old fashion feel in the restaurant. So much to look around at while waiting for your meal to arrive. Portions were large. My friend enjoyed warm Peach Cobbler a'la mode which was amazing!! And we enjoyed Key Lime Pie and it also was very good, but we liked the cobbler best. Our service was excellent and love the old time waitress outfits which fits in with the old fashion vibe. It definitely gets busy closer to dinner hour. We happened to arrive way before the normal dinner hour. We had the chicken pot pie and it was good. I just wished it would have had a complete pie crust covering the entire top, my favorite part. lol Otherwise it was tasty. Portions are large. Restaurant is located in a league strip mall with ample parking at least the time we arrived. On the corner of a very busy intersection. Prices were good. I'd love to go back and try something else and also have dessert.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon and it was crowded but we managed to get seated right away. The place remained me of an old school diner. Our waitress was awesome and gave us recommendations and kept our drinks full. From the time we ordered to the time our food showed up was less than ten minutes. The food was great and the portion size was large. Overall it was a good experience but next time I'll order from the takeaway side. The takeaway side has items I like that's not on the menu. For example, fried okra.

Admittedly I don't get the hype. Old cafe with simple food. Stopped in briefly and tried tenders, fries, jalapeños fried cheese, and more. Lots of unrecognizable sauces etc. Didn't try them but they do serve mimosas at least. Three stars for lovely server and clean bathroom.

Mary Mac's Tea Room, Bones, the Varsity, OK Cafe. If you are from Atlanta you know these icons. OK Cafe is one of those Atlanta institutions that, when you hear the name, you know EXACTLY where you are. In the heart of the ritzy West Paces Ferry area of Atlanta/ Buckhead, just off I-75 South. I have been coming here for 39 years since the beginning when visiting my Aunt and Uncle off of West Paces Ferry. This is the quintessential diner/family spot with lots of comfort food options. My go to for dinner is usually pot roast or a burger. But we came for breakfast and they do breakfast RIGHT! Come hungry whenever you come! I had an omelette with potatoes and a biscuit and a short stack of griddle cakes. The griddle cakes were bigger than I've seen in most places. Fluffy and perfect! Our service has always been excellent, quick and efficient. The place is spotless! (Most recent score 100!) Lots of table sizes and great for large parties from what I could see. You will find some beautiful folk art and other pieces all over the walls. My favorite is the one I snapped below. Really cool textured painting of Atlanta showing the most identifiable spots in Atlanta. I cannot express enough how much I enjoy this place every time we come here. The food is always perfect and the service and decor are memorable. You must add this place if you ever visit Atlanta! It IS Atlanta.

Finally made it to Ok Cafe which was amazing!! We came here after seeing a movie on a Saturday night and it was PACKED. We had to wait about 20-30 minutes for a table for 3. Once seated I got the house made cherry cola and omg it was stunning. You could tell it was homemade with the red tint and it was crisp and refreshing. For my meal I got the fried chicken with Mac and cheese and green beans it was so yummy. Delicious southern cooking in a charming restaurant. My only complaint was I wished the green beans were seasoned more. We split the strawberry shortcake for dessert and it was light and delicious. Yummy!

My luncheon companion and I went to OK CAFE, a place I havent been to in a long time. It had a massive fire a few years back and had been rebuilt. WOWZA!!! It is now way larger than before but still has ample parking. We entered through the backdoor through their newly added cafeteria style to go room. There in addition to refrigerated cases, they had almost the whole lunch menu laid out. I saw what I ultimately ordered and it all looked fresh and yummy. The wait staff hustled with purpose and efficiency. The restaurant has a new room whose central theme is a huge tree coming up from the floor with money attached to all branches like leaves. They clearly wanted a dramatic focal point and they hit the mark. Their expanded curving lunch bar accommodates a lot of folks comfortably. The prices were mid range and the portions more than ample. Anytime of day oe night, OK is the OK place to get a fix for superb southern style home cooking.

Our first visit here they host was yelling a greeting down the stairs as we were coming up. He was prepared for us and had menus in hand and led us to a table as soon as we got up there. Sat at a table in front of some big windows that overlook the street down below. A quick look over the menu and I had my choice. Seeing that they serve breakfast all day I knew what I was getting. Biscuits and gravy, upgrading it by adding hashbrowns. That felt like the right thing to do. Like hardcore the right thing to do. When I think biscuits and gravy I usually think a biscuit smothered in sausage gravy. However, they do a bit of a twist on it here. They give you two sausage biscuits drowned in that homestyle gravy. That way you are guaranteed a bite of everything as you go in this meal. It was delightful to have bite like that. Then when you finish that off, you can use that gravy as a flavor enhancer for the hashbrowns. I mean they can hold their own, but combining things are always great. This was so good that when I came back again a few days later, I had the exact same thing. I know if I was in the area, I would be back again and again. The service here is top notch. The servers know the menu quite well. They were able to run down that menu and let you know anything about any given dish. This place is easy to get to if staying nearby in one of the hotels. Or you can access it through The Hub.

I finally pulled up on a Wednesday afternoon for lunch, and honestly, the sheer scale of this place is hilarious. The parking lot alone is a whole ecosystem, and the inside looks like it can comfortably seat half of Metro Atlanta with room to spare. I came with a serious appetite, so I went straight for the classic heavyweight: the Roast Turkey Entrée (all white meat). Now, when the server started listing out everything that came with it, I thought there was a glitch in the simulation. For starters, you get a soup and a salad. I went with the chicken noodle and a Caesar salad. The chicken noodle hit the spot--properly seasoned, warm, and comforting. The Caesar was solid too, crisp and fresh. But then the main plate arrived, and I'm pretty sure they harvested an entire farm for this one meal. Generous portion of white meat turkey, a mountain of mashed potatoes with gravy, stuffing, cranberry sauce and a side of broccoli (gotta respect the greens). Every single item on that main plate was absolute perfection. Tender, savory, and cooked with actual respect for flavor profiles. My only real critique? The bread basket. Look, I don't know what happened there, but that roll was completely devoid of personality. Tasted like straight oxygen and flour. Unseasoned bread in 2026 is an absolute tragedy, but thankfully, the whipped butter spread saved the day and gave it a purpose in life. Between the massive portions and the endless menu options, this place is an absolute unit. You're definitely leaving with a take-home box the size of a carry-on suitcase and a strong urge to take a three-hour nap. Great energy, fast service, and legendary portions. Just bypass the plain bread and dive straight into the turkey.

If you like crazy loopy, different kind of stuff. There's a specific coffee shop and small gift shop in the back with social & environmental conscious products. Even have a film development drop off that I guess locals take advantage of cuz where do you go for that anymore other than some kind of chain pharmacy?. I took pictures for my posting but also for myself to consider coming back and shopping another time. Several of the magnets and signs I would love to own. The food is plentiful and flavorful. I had the daily special of Georgia fresh shrimp sauteed on top of homemade sourdough that had a little bit of a French toast crispy to it, topped with roasted tomatoes and spinach and thin crispy onions that were well seasoned. Most the time for lunch you just hope for something that taste good and this was beyond my wildest dreams of what I was going to eat for lunch today. And it was only $10. The burgers, the fried chicken, the fried shrimp, everything was looking so yummy. I totally have to come back. I don't think we knew what we were getting ourselves into, but I'm glad we made the decision to come here. Homegrown provides great food and coffee with indoor and outdoor seating great art and a "cozy" (read: crowded) feel. Food: 5/5 The food here was amazing. I just got the standard breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and orange juice but those around me had other meals like scrambles and omelettes that smelled amazing. I'm also a big fan of grits was able to taste some from my friend's plate. Service: 4/5 In terms of the food service, our server was extremely nice, but a couple of people in my party had things wrong with their order. We did have a large group though, so I won't put too much stock into that. Ambience: 4/5 When I say this place is crowded, I mean this place is crowded. I won't hold that against them, it's really a testament to how popular their restaurant is with that said, I really do wish they had more seating available. We went during the tail end of the summer, so it was extremely hot outside and eating breakfast out. The wait for a table was well over 30 minutes, so there was no way we were going to also eat our food outside. It was just not feasible without heat stroke. For context we live in the Pacific Northwest. What made up for this was the coffee shop that was connected to the building in the back that served amazing iced coffee to cool us down. Conclusion All in all, I give this place a solid, 4 out of 5 would recommend. Just be prepared to wait if you have more than three people in your party, and try to come early :-)

Ironically, I'm working on a movie production which allowed me a gap in my schedule to stop in for a quick breakfast. I say ironically because I was not aware TSS had become such an iconic set for some well known movies and series over the years. [Yes! I live in a box!] I imagine TSS was the "go to" place for locals in years past. It imagine it still is for some because it is somewhat convenient, has decent parking, and fairly easy to get in and out. In midtown ATL, this is huge!! I sat at the counter and my order was taken immediately. My water and cup of coffee was placed in front of me immediately. The nostalgia was undeniable and I observed the front wait staff seemed happy (inconceivable!). I found myself grinning to myself at their small talk and humor. I ordered a bacon, egg & cheese biscuit (served open faced) with a side of hashbrowns. My food was served hot straight from the grill. My only regret was not ordering toast because the biscuit, to my disappointment, was not homemade. I compare it to the Mary B's Frozen Biscuits I use to buy when I wanted a biscuit but didn't have time to pull out my wooden bowl or had no buttermilk in the fridge. Two clean, single occupancy bathrooms for paying customers are assessable from the outside and entering through the door to the kitchen. That was interesting.. I imagine the building has not changed much over the years. Overall, I enjoyed my visit, (check it off the Bucket List ) but the ($16 + $4 tip) for my breakfast might make me consider The Waffle House before returning for a second visit unless eating for lunch or the Homemade Lemon Ice-Box Pie voted one of the "5 Best Pies in the USA".
