My first time enjoying Hibachi! It was fun, the food was delicious, the chef's "show" was typical of what I have observed at other restaurants, but very enjoyable up close and personal. I passed on the flying veggies and sake pour with out problem. They turned on music and lighting which was fun and tacky, it lighted the mood even more. The chairs were a little loose and oddly low. The lobster was mouth watering. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. It was juicy and tender. It melted in my mouth. The portions were fairly large. My boyfriend and I have ordered almost everything off the Asian cuisine menu. You can't beat the price for the level of quality. The portions are also huge! Every dinner comes with soup, salad, and a full takeout container of each entrée. We have been able to eat two meals out of each order. Our favorites are the Kung Kua and the Szechuan Chicken. Our only miss was the Ginger Duck. The sushi is also decent as well, though my boyfriend prefers it more than me. I'm a stickler for the temperature and it can be lukewarm at times. The customer service is a bit hit or miss, and they have messed up our order from time to time so I advise you to check your order. Other than these minor flaws, we consider it one of the best Asian restaurants in the area. Do yourself a favor and eat here instead of ordering Chinese takeout. read more

My wife and I were looking forward to find a Japanese restaurant locally that offered dine in and gluten free options. Our favorite is Kaizen but that one is all the way to Sturbridge. Before going to OKI I called and asked about their gluten free (GF)options. I was told most items could be made GF and they had GF soy sauce. Reality hit when we were seated and asked the waiter about GF options on the menu. I asked which appetizers were GF - he said none! Finally I asked about the Edamame and he agreed that "it could be made GF" --- Really, it is just soy beans! I did not do much better with the sushi rolls. He insisted that all of the specialty rolls were made with soy sauce. I finally settles on plain tuna, salmon, and yellow tail rolls. I also ordered a plain California roll. They were all served crammed together on a small plate with a container of soy sauce on the side. I asked if the soy sauce was GF and he said no. I asked if he had GF soy sauce. He then brought two small packets of GF soy sauce. When I asked him for more he brought a half dozen and threw them on the table. As for the quality of the sushi - it was fair at best. My wife ordered one of the Asian specialties (she is not allergic to gluten). She ordered Koong Kaprow which is supposed to be shrimp cooked with Thai basil, onions, and peppers. What came out was 50% pineapple chunks without any basil. When we questioned the order, the waiter said that was when we ordered! At that point we were both disgusted with the place and asked for take out boxes. He again threw them on the table. RUDE!!! If we want GF sushi we will drive to Sturbridge and go to Kaizen. I will never ever again set foot in OKI and encourage anyone with dietary restrictions to avoid this place. read more

My only other complaint was the service... our waitress seemed like she didn't care and was not attentive. Came in on a Sunday night after my boyfriend was working a long shift. The restaurant was quiet and there were only a few cars outside. We were immediately greeted and seated and given some time with the menu. Our waiter was lovely and patient with us building our list of rolls we wanted. My first attempt to eat sushi in this area and I debated over which would be the first restaurant to try. Yelp certainly factored in the decision process and I thought the reviews from my fellow yelper friends were critical in making the final decision to try OKI. I thought all the ingredients were fresh and well prepared as was the presentation. I opted for the spicy tuna roll and found it was everything I expected, the soup was meh but I just have never been impressed with this type of soup.
