My first time enjoying Hibachi! It was fun, the food was delicious, the chef's "show" was typical of what I have observed at other restaurants, but very enjoyable up close and personal. I passed on the flying veggies and sake pour with out problem. They turned on music and lighting which was fun and tacky, it lighted the mood even more. The chairs were a little loose and oddly low. However, all said and done, I'd say give it a whirl. The food was great. I will say there was a language barrier with our server and two of my friends ended up with HUGE drinks, not what they expected. read more

I got delivery of some amazing food. I ordered the filet mignon and lobster tail hibachi. It salad was fresh . The noodles were hot and delicious. They were cooked perfectly. The lobster was mouth watering. The filet was cooked to a perfect medium as requested. It was juicy and tender. It melted in my mouth. The portions were fairly large. My meal also came with hibachi soup which tasted delicious also. The vegetables were all cooked well and tasted amazing. The flavors were on point. My son also enjoyed his hibachi chicken. We will definitely order from them again. I definitely recommend this establishment for amazing food and level of service. read more

My boyfriend and I have ordered almost everything off the Asian cuisine menu. You can't beat the price for the level of quality. The portions are also huge! Every dinner comes with soup, salad, and a full takeout container of each entrée. We have been able to eat two meals out of each order. Our favorites are the Kung Kua and the Szechuan Chicken. Our only miss was the Ginger Duck. The sushi is also decent as well, though my boyfriend prefers it more than me. I'm a stickler for the temperature and it can be lukewarm at times. The customer service is a bit hit or miss, and they have messed up our order from time to time so I advise you to check your order. Other than these minor flaws, we consider it one of the best Asian restaurants in the area. Do yourself a favor and eat here instead of ordering Chinese takeout. read more

Nothing worse than ordering take out and getting it home only to be grossed out. The chicken pad Thai had zero flavor, was oily, and the noodles were overcooked. Have had better, waaaay better. Will not be returning. Service was friendly, it was inexpensive, and the place seemed busy but we both have a bad taste in our mouths and actually threw away what was left. read more

My family and I have been going to Oki for years now. The owner recognizes us and thanks us for dining with them. It's the only restaurant we have this recognition despite only going to a few restaurants regularly. It feels special. My daughter and I always order the Hibachi Steak, and my son and husband get the Sushi Loveboat for two. The sushi is always very fresh and the Hibachi Steak hits the spot for my daughter and me. My mother-in-law was with us tonight for dinner and also had the sushi. She commented several times about how fresh and good the sushi was. This is definitely a restaurant worth eating at! My wife and I were looking forward to find a Japanese restaurant locally that offered dine in and gluten free options. Our favorite is Kaizen but that one is all the way to Sturbridge. Before going to OKI I called and asked about their gluten free (GF)options. I was told most items could be made GF and they had GF soy sauce. Reality hit when we were seated and asked the waiter about GF options on the menu. I asked which appetizers were GF - he said none! Finally I asked about the Edamame and he agreed that "it could be made GF" --- Really, it is just soy beans! I did not do much better with the sushi rolls. He insisted that all of the specialty rolls were made with soy sauce. I finally settles on plain tuna, salmon, and yellow tail rolls. I also ordered a plain California roll. They were all served crammed together on a small plate with a container of soy sauce on the side. I asked if the soy sauce was GF and he said no. I asked if he had GF soy sauce. He then brought two small packets of GF soy sauce. When I asked him for more he brought a half dozen and threw them on the table. As for the quality of the sushi - it was fair at best. My wife ordered one of the Asian specialties (she is not allergic to gluten). She ordered Koong Kaprow which is supposed to be shrimp cooked with Thai basil, onions, and peppers. What came out was 50% pineapple chunks without any basil. When we questioned the order, the waiter said that was when we ordered! At that point we were both disgusted with the place and asked for take out boxes. He again threw them on the table. RUDE!!! If we want GF sushi we will drive to Sturbridge and go to Kaizen. I will never ever again set foot in OKI and encourage anyone with dietary restrictions to avoid this place. read more

Great service, friendly waitstaff. We were given dumplings and chicken skewers on the house and the sushi is very good and presented well on the plate. Right off the main road, easy to find and not super loud so good for having a nice meal and a conversation without yelling like some bigger places. read more

Got a Groupon for sushi dinner for 2 and it was really good and tasted fresh! We ordered the California tempura, shrimp tempura, spicy crabmeat and sweet potato rolls. All were great, besides the sweet potato roll which we did not get because they forgot about it and didn't offer to even bring it out after we told them we were missing a roll. My only other complaint was the service... our waitress seemed like she didn't care and was not attentive. She rolled her eyes when she asked for our order and we weren't ready yet... one minute after being seated. Decent experience, would probably order takeout next time though. read more

Came in on a Sunday night after my boyfriend was working a long shift. The restaurant was quiet and there were only a few cars outside. We were immediately greeted and seated and given some time with the menu. Our waiter was lovely and patient with us building our list of rolls we wanted. We got two miso soups which were delicious and 5 different rolls which were each amazing. At the end our waiter informed me he had comped our soups and gave me a Ramune on the house. My first attempt to eat sushi in this area and I debated over which would be the first restaurant to try. Yelp certainly factored in the decision process and I thought the reviews from my fellow yelper friends were critical in making the final decision to try OKI. I thought all the ingredients were fresh and well prepared as was the presentation. I opted for the spicy tuna roll and found it was everything I expected, the soup was meh but I just have never been impressed with this type of soup. I'm glad I gave this place a try and definitely plan to return when I'm not so pressed for time overall I liked it and will try some of the other choices next visit. read more

I was in Manchester looking for a local restaurant on Groupon after a long day of shopping. I came across OKI Asian Bistro. When we drove into the parking lot it looked a little run down and didn't know what to expect. We decided to give it a try and we were very impressed with the services. We were given complimentary sushi and two drinks. The quality of the food was very good and tasted fresh. The staff was very attentive at all times. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Don't put a faded rubber stamp on the bottom of a receipt in a dimly lit restaurant. Check your receipt people! This is a scam that needs to stop! We are extremely disappointed. Please realize we have absolutely NO complaints with the food or service, we just don't like when an establishment takes total advantage of its customers financially. We pay a pretty hefty price for the food and service at these places! The tip is our choice, NOT YOURS!

And presentation was beautiful My husband ordered the Korean fried chicken and waffles ! The waffles came in rose shape which was beautiful 10/10 for the presentation and taste . The interior is large and classically decorated, the kind of dining room that was built to handle volume without feeling like a cafeteria. I noticed the koi fish out front have a quarter machine nearby that dispenses food, a small detail that tends to land well if you are visiting with kids. The overall setup is comfortable and well maintained, and the space gave the restaurant a presence that most Chinese restaurants in the area do not match. The dim sum is the main draw, and it is served until 3pm, so timing my visit accordingly was important. I ordered the har gow and shumai, both well executed and holding up against what I have found at comparable restaurants in Boston or New York. The chili oil is good and worth using liberally. The shrimp wonton noodle soup was a standout and worth ordering on its own. For those coming outside dim sum hours, the full menu covers a solid range of Cantonese dishes. I also tried the fried rice, salt and pepper squid, and chow fun, all of which performed well. The portions throughout were generous enough that ordering with a group and sharing made the most sense. On quieter days, the food quality is noticeably more consistent, which I experienced during my visit. For good dim sum in Connecticut and a Cantonese dining room that takes the food seriously, Oriental Bar and Grill is worth the effort of finding.

We were there many times for hibachi.Last time is friday night,hibachi room was full.After we finished our appertizer,our hibachi chef showed up right on time.Vocano and baby sake are our favor parts.My son love baby sake and I drink pretty much sake from hibachi chef every time.We always order filet mignon and scallop ,filet were very tender and scallop were cooked perfect.Their fried rice is soft and yummy,not like other reataurant just taste like soy sauce.I don't know how the chef make it,I try to cook fried rice at home but never came out like that! My son usualy does not eat too much ,but he could clean the place every time there.That is one of the reasons why we keep coming back. My girlfriend and I have been regulars here for nearly four years now, this is our go to restaurant overall. The servers are attentive, service is quick, and they often provide samples of food we haven't tried yet. Their menu provides good options for all price points which makes it an appealing option whether you want a quick cheap lunch, or to splurge on some higher quality sushi with amazing presentation. The hibachi is also incredible. They provide a wonderful atmosphere for a light hearted dinner out. If you can get 10+ people together the Shogun special is incredibly worthwhile. This place is so much fun! We went as a group after work one night of about 6. I had never been to hibatchi before and all my coworkes recommended it, so we went. Watching them cook right in front of you was so neat! The chefs had awesome personalities, and the little shows and tricks they did with the good was fun to watch! We've been to OKI several times and have always had great service. I have celiac disease and the staff always makes sure to accommodate my gluten free needs. The pan seared dumplings were absolutely delicious, and I would definitely get again. The crab Rangoon to me was a little bit off and flavorless. Also, it wasn't deep fried enough, so it was a little bit spongy and tough, instead of crunchy on the outside with an exploding filling My friend loved the curry shrimp ramen, which had a very generous portion of shrimp included. The salmon sashimi I had appeared to have been colored a deeper hue, which tells me it was probably farm raised. It also was very oily, and very hard to pick up with the chopsticks. I had to fork it. The salmon was also room temperature, which kind of set up a little warning for me like maybe it was a gas station sushi.... I ate it. It was meh The signature roll I ordered was terrible in presentation. It looked like it was wrapped in human skin and kind of grossed me out. The highlights being the garlic shrimp and the pepper tuna tataki. The sushi rice is seasoned correctly, and the fish was fresh. The taste of the rolls was a little bland, but soy and the wasabi aoli helped out. They do have the stipulation of food waste costing more, so the mass amounts of food did give us pause. The server assured us that there would not be any charges as they figure out how to portion. But it did limit our ordering. For the price, the quality is actually pretty good. It's pricy for the area, but you're not going to go hungry. If you get a chance to try them, they are a great option for a meal. It's not worthy of a trek, but versus other restaurants of that style you would be hard pressed to find better.
