For the most part the food was pretty good , my Family and I came to the restaurant for nice outing. The restaurant was very busy our sever "Ella" had a busy section to handle. another server took our order . we received our food, by the time I the check came. I paid the check in cash with. "Ella"took the change of $20 and never came back to bring the change nor did she bring the reseat. I had to wait 30 min and ask the sever for the change and receipt. she act confuse as if she didn't understand what I was saying. she stuttered and proceed to get my change. I took the change and did not leave her a tip and walked out of the restaurant with my family. "Ella" Chase my daughter and family out of the restaurant yelling and screaming saying that she cannot find her tip. She referred me and my family to "you type of people". she would not stop yelling a server had to come out of the restaurant to calm her down. I proceed to walk back into the restaurant to speak to the owner " Wei Zhu" but he was not present . I was given his phone number and I've attempted numerous phone calls but no answer. i've left messages nothing has been done ! We made a reservation here tonight for hibachi. To start I got the green paradise drink, it was great. We began with the hibachi soup and salad, the salad dressing they used was really good and the soup had a nice broth. I got the hibachi chicken with rice and veggies. I thought it was pretty good, definitely very delicious. The hibachi chefs always make it fun and put on a show. We ate at OKKO during our trip to Hilton Head Island at the end of September 2022. Being that this was the middle of our road trip, we were craving some Asian food and OKKO was it. We started off with their calamari with was good but a bit on the bread-y side. We also ordered and eel avocado roll which was good. For our entrees, we got steak and chicken hibachi. The chicken was good and the steak was cooked perfectly. We were very surprised at the quality of the steak in the best way possible. The hibachi meals come with fried rice and vegetables as well. Rice could've been seasoned more but the veggies were good. For drinks, I had a lychee martini. I wasn't a fan of it but I think it would taste good to other people. CUSTOMER SERVICE WAS GARBAGE!!!! "Kate" had an attitude from the beginning of the phone call. In fact, she hung up on me while I was placing my order. When I called back and stated that she hung up on me, she replied "Mmhmm!" Red flag but I proceeded and finished placing my order. We get there and the attitude continues. Kate is mad because we want to check the order. She says that she has already checked it and sarcastically added "but you don't trust me!" and rudely slung the bag of food on the table. However, there was a problem with the order which we couldn't resolve due to her VERY POOR CUSTOMER SERVICE. Other customers came in who appeared to be regulars and she laughed and treated them as all customers should be treated. As I told Kate, my money is just as green and my card swipes the same. Maybe she doesn't like tourists, I don't know. What I do know is that her attitude needs to change. I asked for a supervisor, she insisted that no manager or supervisor was there. So I asked to speak to another employee (since they are all equal) with customer service skills. She told me that I could cancel the transaction BUT then she ignored us and refused to void it. Thankfully, another employee stepped in and voided the transaction. He also gave me a phone number to reach the owner. After trying this place several times, it's safe to say each night impressed. I usually go with very large parties and the food still comes out relatively quickly (even on super busy nights). The food is a fair price, the size of the rolls are there, and it's super yummy. They have a separate specialty sushi menu and the prices average $13-15. Some rolls are worth it- like the spider roll, others are still good but not in comparison to rolls priced at $4.50-6. If you enjoy a sushi night, I would definitely recommend OKKO. read more

I recommend the Tuna Amazing roll, Spicy Girl roll, Treasure Island appetizer, and the Tom Kha Gai soup. Let me start by saying I would easily have given 5 stars if it weren't for the deafening noise throughout our meal. The restaurant is beautiful but with no soft surfaces, it is VERY loud. The restaurant overbooked and lied to us about how that happened. As a result, our reservations for teppan yaki experience was not honored. The hostess couldn't look us in the eyes as she said her nonsense. The service was passable as they only have two overworked waitresses. Be prepared for tips to be automatically added to your bill. The ambiance was modern and cool, but the real shining star was our server Christine. This is probably my 4th time here and the food is always fresh and amazing! The presentation is always on point. Our waitress was very attentive. My favorite roll is the watchman roll, which seems to be the restaurants most popular roll. My sister really liked the kamikaze roll. I haven't been disappointed with any of the rolls I've tried there so far. They may have been in a rush to make our rolls though because they didn't seem like they were rolled tight enough. Some fell a part the second you touched them. The only reason I give this 4 stars is because we had made a reservation for a party of 9, showed up an hour and half before our reservation, but were not seated until 25 min after our reservation. We were all hangry at that point. I also did not appreciate how rude the host was to my mom when she asked her how much longer it would take them to seat us. She also avoided us until our table was ready... they did give us free edamame because of the situation, which I suppose was the least that they could do. Overall, service needs improvement. This restaurant gives regular table or table side cooking option which is nice. The food is good, but they put shrimp sauce on everything. Typically I wouldn't mind, but the shrimp sauce here is a little different. It was good on salad, but not on the shrimp, meats, etc. It was put on everything as it was cooked.
