Five very enthusiastic stars! On the way to NYC, our small group was looking at dinner options, and everyone agreed Italian sounded good. After seeing Olio E Più pop up with rave reviews, we booked a reservation. (I am glad we booked ahead, as they were telling customers it was a 2+ hour wait that evening.) The decor in the room was really pretty, and there was a steady buzz of activity throughout our visit. Our waiter was absolutely lovely. Although he said he was new, we wouldn't have known it unless he told us, as he expertly made recommendations and served us well throughout the evening. One of the first culinary standouts was the olive oil that came with the bread. This is the REAL single-source non-adulterated EVOO that has a distinctive earthy taste. I can't remember the last time I got to enjoy oil like this at a restaurant. I ordered the Spaghetti alle Vongole. In my Italian family, there's no such thing as too much garlic. If a recipe calls for a clove, it gets a bulb. But this dish was beautifully garlic-forward with a generous portion of clams atop the handmade spaghetti. We joked that the vampires of The Lost Boys wouldn't dare mess with us after our dinner! It also went perfectly with a glass of Prosecco. Although we were pretty full from the meal, the chocolate mousse looked too interesting to pass up. It was so amazing that we ended up ordering a second! The salt flakes and light EVOO drizzle really brought the depth out of the chocolate, and the cocoa nibs added a nice crunch to contrast with the softer mousse. I highly recommend a visit here, and it's going to be at the top of my list next time I'm in NYC!
I unfortunately think the West Village location is superior to this one. My cup of water had two random dots floating in it so I didn't really drink it. Idk if the prices went up recently but I feel like it's gotten more expensive but the pasta portions aren't reflecting the prices fairly. The ravioli dish is $28 for 5 pieces which felt like a big rip off. However, the Olio Club was quite big and came with nice hot crispy fries. I was able to share the sandwich with my friend whose ravioli portion was so small and barely filled her up. I do wish the bread on the sandwich was toasted a bit longer. It's a nice space inside and the service was good, but I think there's better Italian spots in Midtown for sure.
Olio E Più is one of my favorite places to brings friends and family to. At this newer location across the way from Bryant Park, it's a bit more upscale than the Greenwich (my personal favorite) location which has more of a homier, boutique feel. But the two share the same excellence in food and service. Gabriella here at this location was incredible to myself and family, and made it a dinner they will remember. Olio is such a great place for larger groups, families, kids, and even date night. Great food, great service. 10 out of 10. Not pictured but recommended by Gabriella was their Lasagnetta Classico which was incredible. The tagliatelle is rich, creamy and fresh...perfect for keeping things light. And the carbonara is a staple there for a reason.
Love the feel of this restaurant that's right next to Bryant Park. High ceiling and a bar area in the back. I loved the spaghetti carbonara and the focaccia San Daniele (pistachio pesto, prosciutto and cherry tomatoes) this was such a good recommendation. The focaccia was soft and everything on top was light and fresh! It was a nice compliment with the carbonara. The calamari was also very fresh and the dipping aioli was amazing! I took my mother here for Mother's Day brunch and will definitely be back again. (Mom was also very obsessed with their complimentary olives) They also had many families with little kids. So family friendly is a big plus!! (With high chairs)
My husband took me here for dinner on Mother's Day, and overall we had a really pleasant experience. I loved the ambiance and decor, though the restaurant did feel quite hot due to the small space and limited airflow, so I was sweating quite a bit. Other than that, the food was phenomenal. The tartufa pizza was genuinely one of the best bites I've ever had, and I'd come back just for that alone. The espresso martini was also the best I've ever had. The carbonara was incredibly rich and flavorful, though I do wish it had a bit more pepper or chili flake to help balance the richness. The hospitality was wonderful as well. We were even given a scoop of lemon sorbetto on the house, which was such a nice touch. I've always wanted to go to the one in the village, but couldn't, so I was excited they opened one in Bryant Park. I can't wait to come back!
This Olio E Più is the Bryant Park location for the expanding chain and we able to get reservations. First off, this place is huge. Like a couple of hundred diners huge and it's noisy. Like crazy noisy. I could hear the person next to me better than my spouse across the table. The food however, more than makes up for the noise and we enjoyed ourselves. If you're a late eater, you might find getting a table here easier than trying to get ithe after work drinking crowd.
My waitress Ayla W. was very kind and patient with me as I asked various questions about different meals for a first-timer. She gave her honest opinions and consistently checked on me. Shoutout to her for the great service! As for the ambiance, it's a very dim and intimate setting, but the dress code is free. I ordered the popular Spaghetti Carbonara - it was finely crafted, the meat within was pretty flavorful, and it was topped with an egg. Could've used a pinch of salt and maybe pepper for the overall flavoring (aside from the meat that was sprinkled within), but that's just my personal opinion when it came to the overall meal (to each his/her own). Note that this meal is also a medium-sized portion, so I'd advise ordering a side or salad, if you're pretty hungry. Overall, I'd give it a 7/10. I also ordered the Polenta Fritta. This was my first time hearing of this, and the best I can do to explain it would be mashed potatoes with a mozzarella stick-like breading (if that makes sense). It'd give this an 8/10. Overall, I'd visit this restaurant again, trying something new next time around.
solid NYC italian institution. i'm a big fan of sausage and broccoli/broccolini pasta so the orecchiette pasta was a must order for me. both the carbonara and orecchiette were yummy when i first started eating but then as i continued eating got to to be way to heavy and salty lol but also i'm generally not the biggest fan of the restaurant italian food i've had so take that with a grain of salt. they give free bread as every italian institution should but i felt judged when i asked for more bread. service was reallllyyyy mid like this waiter guy must've not liked us that much also we got sat at this tiny 2 seater table and my friend had a giant pillar behind her so we just didn't have that much space even though the restaurant is pretty big on the inside. overall the pasta was yummy but i don't know if i would necessarily come back.
Sat at the bar for dinner service early Friday evening, no reservation just first come first serve seating. Service was so nice, with great recommendations, and kept checking in to see if we wanted more off the happy hour menu before the happy hour "hours" were up. They had good wine suggestions and let me try some before choosing my glass. The fritto primavera was a huge portion, especially off the happy hour menu, it was nicely fried and had great seasoning. The burrata & figs had a great sweet and salty contrast with the prosciutto crisps. And finally the risotto alla milanese was also good with the rich saffron butter.
Olio e Più near Bryant Park gave us one of those meals that stays with you long after you leave. We started with the tuna tartare and the grilled octopus, and both were absolute standouts. The tartare was incredibly fresh and bright, with clean flavors that let the quality of the fish shine. The octopus was tender with a perfect char -- one of the best versions I've had in the city. Next came the Insalata di Spinaci, a simple but beautifully executed salad that added a fresh, crisp break between courses. For mains, we shared the branzino and the carbonara, and they couldn't have been more different yet equally delicious. The branzino was delicate, flaky, and seasoned just right -- light but full of flavor. The carbonara, on the other hand, was rich, silky, and exactly what you want from a classic Roman dish. Perfectly cooked pasta, creamy without being heavy, and that deep pecorino bite. To top it all off, our server Alex surprised us with a tiramisu on the house, which was such a thoughtful gesture and genuinely made the night. It was airy, balanced, and the perfect sweet finish. Between the warm, rustic atmosphere, the consistently excellent food, and service that truly goes above and beyond, Olio e Più is an easy recommendation. We left full, happy, and already talking about coming back.
Solid NYC Italian spot / great choice for a week night dinner. We arrived on the earlier side (5pm res) and it definitely filled in as the evening went on. The restaurant itself is quite large and elaborately decorated. It's also a bit loud in there but not in a bad way. We shared the burrata app and each had a pasta. The burrata was okay, but the pastas were outstanding. I had the cavatelli agnello e verdure and my friend had the spaghetti alla carbonara. The carbonara is one of their specialties. They also have an extensive wine list- we each had the lambrusco which was very good. read more

The food was so delicious and the restaurant is beautiful. We didn't realize the bruschetta would have so many olives, but we should've read the menu more closely. I didn't mind and my partner just removed most of the olives. The arancini tartufo was amazing and we had to fight over the 3rd one! Carbonara was just creamy and delicious, and we completely demolished that and the tiramisu. We were extremely happy with everything we ate and will be back! read more

Friend and I met up for belated birthday dinner, on a cold January evening. The restaurant was packed, making it very tight. Enjoyed the food, salads, pasta and chicken piccata, all tasted great. Shared a pear crostata which was fabulous, crispy tart shell and poached pear. They did mix up the check at the end, by giving me someone else's, hope I didn't get charged twice! read more
This was on my Italian food list from my last trip and we were able to make a stop here for lunch. It was on a weekday next to lots of offices so I was sure to make a reservation. We all ordered pasta dishes which were really tasty! However, we weren't offered the option to add cheese (which I noticed as we were leaving other waitstaff offered to their tables). We also had to repeatedly ask for water refills and when it was time to pay we couldn't find our waiter. Granted, it was extremely busy by the time we finished so he might have been swamped. read more

The pasta tasted extremely fresh and delicious! We had an amazing service! Gabriel did a great job and made sure we were accommodated throughout the entire meal!!! We've dined at Olio e Piu in West Village before, and my hubby really enjoyed the Pappardelle Agnello e Verdure. Since it wasn't on the menu this time, we both ordered the Cavatelli Agnello e Verdure instead--featuring roasted lamb, diced vegetables, herbs, and Parmigiano. We also shared the Condiglione alla Ligure with tomatoes, red onions, olives, yellow peppers, boiled potatoes, cucumber, basil leaves, hard eggs and Champagne dressing and the Polpo in Casetta--boiled red octopus, dried tomoato pesto, capers, preserved lemon, cucumber and chive oil. Our daughter had the Spaghetti alla Carbonara with guanciale, black pepper, egg, Parmigiano and chili oil. All of our dishes were great, and we were very pleased with our meal. read more

Dined on a Wednesday night with a reservation. Our table wasn't ready so we went to the bar. Hostess and server were both rude and it made for a horrible dining experience. (Side note: bar staff were wonderful) We were forced to order all our food at once and then it all arrived at the same time. Our pasta essentially got cold and coagulated while we ate our appetizers. We hardly ever saw our server and water was always empty. I love the west village location but this one is not that. They need to get their act together. read more

A friend of ours recommended we dine here while we were visiting from Atlanta. We were looking for a place that wasn't heavy Italian, but had pasta options. The menu looked fresh so we decided to try it and were glad we did! Got a table for two right in the corner by the window around 8pm on a Tuesday. We had the spinach salad with pears, almonds, and a champagne vinaigrette along with the Arancini tartufa. Both were great but Arancini could've used a little bit more salt, but otherwise delicious. For entrées, We got the spaghetti carbonara which was delicious and the ricotta Pomodoro ravioli, which was light and super flavorful. Of course we had to get dessert which was the olive oil cake. The only thing I would change is the coffee mousse on top seem to take over the cake. Our server was Alex was super friendly and knowledgeable of the menu. Super crowded with tight spaces and small tables. The spinach pear salad was excellent to start with. The handmade spaghetti was the best I've ever had. The white chocolate lemon gel dessert was phenomenal. However. What knocks this down one star is how terrible and disappointing the ravioli was. Five tiny, tiny reheated pieces of ravioli with hot sauce poured on top. It's not just how disappointing the portion size it was listed in the same section as the amazing handmade pasta, but that THEY WERENT EVEN REHEATED EVENLY. The first piece was cooled with chewy dough. One was actually hot and ok. The rest were lukewarm and chewy. There's more bacon bits in the spaghetti then short rib parts in the ravioli. Just extremely disappointing in an otherwise very good meal and offering. read more

We so enjoyed our meal and experience. Our food was fantastic and fresh. We highly recommend our server, Ayla. Her recommendations were on point! We had the carbonara, lamb ragu, and lemon burrata tagliatelle. For dessert we had the panna cotta. This was so refreshing and light! I wanted another to take with us. Definitely will come back! Food was good, but horrible service. So many servers but not one came up to us to ask if we needed anything. It took forever to get a server's attention and took even longer to ask for our check. Even though this was the case, the second we finished eating something our plate was taken away so quickly before we could ask them a question. Also, all the other tables received bread and we didn't. Just go to the West Village location. This one is horrible. read more

Had dinner here after walking around NYC all day was super excited to try some delicious Italian food. The venue is gorgeous. It was decorated for Christmas with wreathes and red and gold. They also had chandeliers all around the restaurant, all beautifully crafted and different variations the restaurant felt like a cozy home. I knew based on the vibes the food was gonna be equally delicious . We started off with some wine, after looking over the extensive wine menu, I picked the Moscato it was sweet and refreshing. For my entrée, I decided to get the truffle pasta, the cheese sauce with the truffles was out of this world it was worth a $37. Definitely something you get as a treat. I also had a bite of my friend's pasta. The carbonara and Fuseli were also really good. Our waitress was sweet enough to come around with fresh Parmesan and fresh black pepper to put on our pasta. We decided to end dinner with dessert. We got three scoops of their gelato/sorbet the raspberry and lemon were my favorite.Also as a thank you from the restaurant they gave us a recipe book to take home. You can place it on your counter for decoration, but they had a lot of recipes based on their menu, which I thought was cool. I will be looking at those recipes and trying to make their Bronzino. The total for the three of us including tip was $208 (about 65-67 each) which isn't bad at all for the food and ambiance we got. This ended up walking distance from the hotel we were at and they had a short walk in availability despite being New Year's Eve. The seating was tight but we were able to eat comfortably. The carbonara was great as often in Los Angeles I can't find it made with Guanciale. The service was spot on despite them having to go through a gauntlet of customers. read more
