I've been getting takeout from here for a very long time, since they opened. I always get the same thing - Triple Delight. It includes these jumbo shrimp that have a lot of flavor. I always call in to place my order, and they make the food so quick. It's always ready within 5-10 minutes for pickup. I ordered the sesame chicken meal. The chicken was of really good quality, as was the eggroll. I will say that the sesame sauce was much more runnier than I've encountered in the past. Stopped here for food after work.. There were 2 tables, one had a social distancing sign, the other did NOT. There was another customer eating at the table with no sign. I ordered and received the roast duck noodle soup and as I was unpacking my food (the other customer already left), the employee told me I couldn't eat there and pointed to the other table with the social distancing sign. I don't know why they had let someone else eat there just moments before and besides, only one of the tables had a social distance sign- very misleading! What can only be described as average at best, the pork dumplings were the best part of my order. The dumpling sauce has WAY too much vinegar while the egg roll was incredibly dry and clearly made using frozen dough. The garlic chicken resembled a pair of rubber shoes I once owned and had very little garlic taste as it was over powered by the oil they use. The "fried rice" reminded me of a great egg explosion (despite asking to not have egg in the dish) that happened in my kitchen when I was a little boy. I usually order the Szechuan Chicken (although noted spicy on the menu, it's not very spicy which works for me). Not too salty and not overpowered with salt. The Hunan Chicken is good but the Szechuan is preferred. I like the steamed veggie with chicken platter-that's always good. The restaurant seating space is extremely small, and the kitchen must be as cramped because the first time I visited, a man was rolling wontons on one of the tables and I couldn't sit which was inconvenient, but I appreciated how they actually make their own wontons. While the boneless BBQ ribs were grilled really well, both times there were very charred pieces - not the delicious BBQ charred, the "I'm eating burned sand" charred. This effect would have been lessened if there was any hint of BBQ sauce on the ribs...(there wasn't) I don't think I'd return honestly because for the amount they charge, the meat to rice ratio isn't equal at all, there's way more rice than meat and I don't need a generous helping but I do need my money's worth! read more

I was very pleased with the quality of the chicken. It was completely cooked and not over fried, so it had the fried taste and firm texture we all love, without being chewy. The sauce was excellent and the sesame seeds were abundant but not overbearingly so. The broccoli in the combo had clearly been steamed, and was bright green and still crispy (not wilty and overcooked, which is my typical experience). Bodes well for their veggie dishes, which I'll definitely be trying in the future. The rice was perfectly average, good quality but nothing to write home about. The egg roll was larger than I'm used to which was a pleasant surprise, and it tasted good too. No complaints! read more

Rice don't get soggy from the sauce! They use sweet tupperware type containers that can be reused (yes, we be ghetto fab like that)! And hey, nothing we ordered was greasy (even the aforementioned deep fried goodness)! Everything just tasted fresh fresh fresh. Notables: Steamed Chicken dumplings - perfectly spiced. LOVE their dipping sauce. Beef Chow Mein - thick noodles, slices of tender beef, YUM! Sweet and sour pork - deep fried pork with sweet red sauce to dunk it in, yes please! The numerous positive reviews of this place make me question yelp (say it ain't so!). I evaluate Chinese restaurants by their Shrimp Fried Rice ($10ish)--a simple dish, but the number/freshness/size/quality of the shrimp, other veggies included, and overall flavor can tell you a lot about a place. Their flavorless shrimp fried rice doesn't make the cut. There aren't a lot of complex flavors in this dish, so I don't see how they could get it wrong, but it was a major disappointment and waste of my time, money, and belly. Onward I go. Six Happiness is a (typically) small shop right along Second Ave. Their inside is a lot nicer and more updated than most places... looks like it was renovated recently. During lunch time this place is pretty packed. I only had to wait a few minutes after I ordered. They were really quick and non-stop behind the counter. I ordered the Steam Roast Pork Bun and Scallion Pancakes. The pork bun was nothing special, there was barely any pork inside. Mostly just bread, womp. As for the scallion pancakes, they were very crispy however very greasy. They tasted okay but I think I am spoiled with the prosperity pancakes. I'll have to try their lunch special sometime soon. We were really struggling to find a good Chinese restaurant in our neighborhood after being creeped out by "B" (or "C"!) ratings and disappointed by bleak food. By some miracle, we found Six Happiness and are so glad we did! We've ordered delivery from there several times and the quality of food and speed of delivery has always been great. It's also reasonably priced. Portions are large (we always have leftovers!) and food is really delicious. You don't find yourself in an MSG coma afterward. Both the Chicken Chow Mein w/ mandarin noodle and Gen Tso Chicken with Brown rice and of course the Won Ton that came with each were exceptional for the price.
