    celebrating my birthday!

I am celebrating my birthday here. And now it's my favourite place in Bay Area! Everything is so tasty and delicious! Beer is something different. I have never tried beer like this before. Thank you so much!

I always love coming here because they are friendly and the outdoor seating is comfy and fosters a good sense of community. They also have a great beer selection and really good beer prices for the South Bay area. Today, I have to give the food mixed reviews. I enjoyed my knockwurst with grilled onions, sauerkraut and brown mustard. The sausage was tasty and the bun was soft and sweet. The krinkle fries held the ketchup well but were otherwise a little dull. I had to add salt. My wife felt the same about her fries and also the steak wrap. She said the steak was tender but not super flavorful, nor did the tzaziki have much flavor. The baklava was sweet and crunchy, but again the dough could have had more flavor. I enjoyed the pistachio over the chocolate.

Cozy, friendly owner and lovely outdoor seating on the main strip on Mountain Views food alley. We love various great selection of German beers on draft. A lots of authentic Mediterranean & German bakeries to choose from. We tried various baklava & really think it has great texture and not too sweet. My veal jager schnitzel came with large portion & tasty. The mushroom topping was crunchy & not overcook. The sauce is well blended. The crispy and tasty fried veal really complement the whole dishes esp. when you paired with some German beer. I also like the dolma, hummus & babaghanoush. They are great appetizer. The owner is very friendly. Talking to us and asked for feedback. Also, gave us complimentary feta fries! Would love to go back again in the future.

Located right at almost the end of Castro Street by the train station is this Turkish gem. Whenever you are in Mountain View and you want to try some real nice middle eastern food with more of a Turkish spin I would make this your stop. Whatever it is that you like they have it. Along with beers for you to savor during your meal or their "Happy Hour", they also have coffee and desserts. WE recently made a stop here for lunch and I had the Falafel wrap and it was great. It was the perfect lunch for that day. It most certainly has its own twist and was a bit different than what I have had before, but I loved it. The staff are great and friendly. I most certainly would come back again to try the wonderful looking bakery and caffe items.

Searching for a place to grab a quick meal, my party and I stumbled upon this restaurant. I found the environment very pleasant and the food to be alright. The prices were very fair, but I felt the food was just average overall. My party did not like their items and felt that what they paid for was not met. They have a great selection of alcohol but the advice they gave to my wife on how to pour her beer backfired as she ended up drinking 40% foam. I don't know if I'd ever come here again, but do you recommend the place as it's a decent place for parties to enjoy time together. 3/5.

I think the vibes were really cool, but something threw me off. There was an obvious greek theme they were going with but i felt like it was also pretty german due to the food and beer. I like the desserts. My favorite one has to be the napoleon because the taste was creamy and sweet but not enough for me to get tired of the flavor. The tiramisu tasted average but a little more on the sweeter side. My friends got beers and they liked the hibiscus one and a cider that i forgot the name of. The pistachio cake and carrot cake tasted pretty similar but not worth mentioning. My friends got the wurst platter and the sausage in the right was my favorite with the snap and string flavor. It was meaty without the gaminess. THE APPLE STRUDEL TASTED REALLY GOOD OMG I LIKED THE FLAVOR IT WAS MISSING ICE CREAM BUT OTHERWISE I LIKED IT

    Gyro bowl
    Vivi B.

Really delicious but the bowl was mainly rice and the gyro was really salty for me. The hummus and veggies were awesome. The patio seating is so nice! The line to order can get long on a Friday at 6:30 pm but the food comes out pretty fast. They have wine and beer too.

It was an okay place to be dine, they have varieties of the beers, and foods and drink tastes okay. It was a relaxing Saturday, people show up after 11:30am. some People came dine here have extensive knowledges about the type of the beers they would like to orders. My friends said the foods were good. I tried their beer couple years ago.

This place is a decent place to gather with a big group. They have both QR code and counter ordering, which makes it easy to have separate checks and manage people showing up at different times. Also, their patio (on the side facing the Caltrain station) has plenty of tables with bench seating. Since the patio tables are pretty close together, it's easy to spread a group across a few of them, though it makes getting out a little hard for folks in the middle of the bench. But, the food is nothing special. The quantities are okay for the price, but the flavors aren't that pronounced. The beers looked good, though, so this place may be better for grabbing a drink than grabbing a meal.

Nice place to sit alone or be with company. The staff were friendly and served my food quickly, I hope to come back and try more dishes!

PERFECT MV BRUNCH SPOT! this is my third time visiting this place for brunch, absolutely love it! Shakshuka is my go-to here but this time I tried Menemen and it was equally delish. Iced Latte with Hazelnut is not to be missed. It usually gets busy on Saturdays but we came here on a Sunday and no wait. Ambiance is as Californian as it gets, outdoor seating is my favorite on a good sunny day. Highly recommended!

    Falafel Salad
    Heather I.

The falafel salad was HUGE! I couldn't believe how full I was after eating it. We sat outside since it was a nice, sunny day. They have plenty of outside seating! Service was wonderful. They were kind and helped us a lot.

I would definitely come back here! We had a mishap on the food and was brought the wrong order. After letting them know immediately of this mistake they took it back and made me my right order. We do regret ordering the Blueberry Pancakes though. The blueberry flavor was lacking and we were expecting more blueberries in it. The rest of the food did make up for it though! My partner loved her Chicken Wrap! She said it made up for the pancakes! And the fries were so delicious! I couldn't stop eating off of her plate. I also love how they give you ketchup, ranch, and hummus with the order. With the Nutella Texas French Toast I do wish that the pieces were thicker and there were more strawberries. But we did not leave one thing left on that plate!!!!!! It was so delicious and if I go back I will be getting that again! The restaurant has a tavern/pub vibe but we sat outside.

None of us had ever eaten here before. We made reservations and got there at 5 pm, such beautiful decor. It almost felt like we were being transported and not in Los Altos anymore. They have indoor and outdoor seating options. Our table was the first one from the entrance, which was great because we had the chance to partake in some "people watching" and seeing some adorable doggies on their walk from the window. As we were eating, more and more people started showing up. Our service did not decline and we were treated wonderfully. We all shared a couple of appetizers: Saganaki, Barbayani Thalasa Tiganites, Octopodi, Horiatiki Salad and Greek Fries. Drinks ordered were a mocktail and Bee's Knee. For dessert, we got the Lemoni Crème Brûlée. Everything was delicious, but the Lemoni Crème Brûlée, OMG!!! The best! It was tangy and sweet, the perfect combo. We each had a lemon half...if only these yellow lemons were the size of a grapefruit! Ahahaha. I was trying to savor every last bit of the filling. Plus, the plating looked superb. Parking is street parking, so it can get hectic. There are also parking lots in the surrounding areas. I did see a 3% living wage surcharge added to the bill. Don't know if this disclaimer was noted on the menu or anywhere else. Didn't look for it, didn't see it. I am just stating for those that want to know ahead of time. Enjoyable night, I would come back here again.

From those recommendations we ended up ordering, the Barbayani Pikilia, Octapodi, Moussaka, Lavraki, Paidakia, the Galaktoboureko, and the Whisper cocktail. We got the Barbayani Pikilia as a tasting platter, which had their House-Made Pita Bread along with a Pomegranate Dip, Tiroakafteri (a dip of Feta, Garlic, and Red Bellpepper), Tzatziki (a dip of Greek Yogurt, Cucumber, and Dill), Melitzanosalata (a dip of Roasted Eggplant and Herbs). All of it wasn't bad, but our favorite was the Melitzanosalata and Tzatziki for their fresher taste. The other dips, especially the Tirokafteri was our least favorite since it was so heavy with all the Feta in it. The Octopodi had one Charbroiled Octopus Tentacle with Red Wine Vinaigrette, Oregano, and the House Pesto Sauce. The Octopus was cooked perfectly tender, and had a fresh taste with the sauces. The Moussaka was a casserole with Roasted Potatoes, Grilled Eggplant, Lamb Ragout, and Bechamel Sauce. This whole dish blended together nicely, especially with the Bechamel Sauce. The Lavraki was a whole Mediterranean Seabass, which was cooked perfectly and was nice and flakey. The Potatoes and Braised Greens were also cooked nicely and had great flavor. The Paidakia was Lamb Chops with Potatoes and Greens, which also had good flavor and was cooked perfectly. The Galaktoboureko was a nice finish for dessert, being mild in sweetness, and having nice textures combining the Semolina Custard with Phyllo Dough. The Whisper cocktail had Thyme Gin, Elderflower, Ginger, and Chamomile, which really blended well together. Thankfully it wasn't too sweet and had the right amount of alcohol. However, the later service we received or should I say, didn't receive put a damper on our evening. After our original waiter left, another waiter took over who completely ignored us and never came to check on us. Also, when we had our meals boxed up, the waiter that boxed them threw out some of the dishes, which we later realized when we got home. Overall, everything was cooked perfectly and well made, however some of the customer service needs some work.

I'm happy to report that the experience holds up just as well as the takeout. * The Service: The service was excellent across the board. Our server was incredibly patient and friendly, which really adds to the welcoming, bustling energy of the place. * The Food: Everything was very well prepared and packed with those authentic Mediterranean flavors you expect here. ** Small Hummus Dip: The namesake of this place is the absolute star. It is thick, creamy, and so flavorful that I honestly think using it as a "dip" is doing it a disservice. You should really just spoon it directly into your mouth! Don't waste this hummus on enhancing something else--let the hummus be selfish - haha. ** Falafel (Side): We ordered the 5-piece side, and they were perfectly fried with a great texture. ** Beef Kebab Rice Bowl: My main was the rice bowl with beef kebabs. The meat was well-seasoned, and like most things here, the portion was definitely substantial. * The Drinks: The biggest pleasant surprise was the seasonal hot mulled wine. On a cold afternoon, this was exactly what I needed. It's hard to find a place that serves it piping hot without losing the natural flavors to a boil, but they nailed it. My date's hot apple cider was equally flavorful and served at that same perfect, steaming temperature. * The Environment & Value: The space is casual but nice, with those signature Moroccan floor tiles giving it some great character. While Castro Street prices can sometimes feel a bit high, the quality and the "village-sized" portions make it a fair trade-off. * The Bottom Line: Whether you're grabbing a container to-go or sitting down for a hot meal and some mulled wine, Oren's remains a Mountain View staple. I'll definitely be back--and I'll probably still be eating that hummus with a spoon :)

I've ordered from Kali before, but I usually go with the beef wrap since it's been my favorite item on their menu. This time, I wanted to switch things up and try the chicken version for the first time. The chicken pita wrap was decent overall and the portion size was satisfying, but it didn't quite live up to my expectations. The wrap had fresh ingredients and was put together well, but the flavor felt a bit lacking. It seemed like it was missing an extra seasoning, sauce, or some additional ingredient to help bring everything together. The chicken itself was also a little dry and not as juicy or tender as I had hoped, which made the wrap less enjoyable than the beef version I've had in the past. The baklava was a nice sweet treat to finish the meal. It had the classic flaky layers and sweetness you'd expect, making it the highlight of my order. While Kali Greek Kitchen is still a solid lunch option, this particular meal didn't leave a strong impression on me. Personally, when it comes to Greek-style wraps and pitas, I still prefer Nick the Greek. Their wraps tend to be more flavorful, and the meats are usually more tender and juicy. I'm glad I gave the chicken wrap a try, but next time I'd probably go back to ordering the beef wrap instead.
