Came on a friday afternoon and there was a short line, but overall moved pretty quickly. I ordered the OMOMO matcha which was a blended matcha slush and got it at 30 percent sugar. Usually boba places water down their matcha with too much cream and sugar and barely add any matcha. THIS DRINK HAD SO MUCH MATCHA, it was amazing. Their drinks run on the sweet side but 30 percent sugar was still sweet enough in my opinion. The overall look of this tea shoppe is very minimalistic and forward. We loved it on the first sip. I tried the Camo Thai and loved the creaminess and strong tea flavor. Expect a line when you come because they even have ropes set up outside for you to line up in. Staff are quick, efficient, and friendly. read more

Despite the long line stretched out in front of the store, the line went by pretty quickly. We waited about 20 minutes and got our drinks, which wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. We got the itchy peachy drink (seasonal drink; peach slush w/ some cream swirled together) with brown sugar boba and watermelon green tea with lychee jelly. We got both of the drinks at 80% sweetness. Itchy peachy drink was surprisingly really good since the blended peach flavor and cream went together nicely and boba was very chewy. 100% would recommend! Watermelon green tea was my personal favorite. It was so refreshing and light so it would be perfect on a sunny day! I finally was able to find a time to try this place out without waiting through an hour+ line!! I gotta say, the line is justified. I got the Omomo Matcha, and I'm hooked. Not only is this drink thicc, but it's full of matcha flavors that get me going! I also got to try a couple of other drinks as well, and i think there's just something about their brulee cream that is just soo good. I've been here around three times this month (May 2021), and OMOMO has always fulfilled my boba cravings! Line is pretty standard for an OMOMO shop, personally I have waited an average of 15-20 minutes every time I've been here. Service is quick and efficient, you can adjust your sweetness and ice levels. You can put in your phone number for their rewards system, which later syncs with your credit card. There are also outdoor seats where you can sit and enjoy your drink :) DRINKS: Camo Thai - 10/10 One of my favs, it's creamy and sweet, refreshing and very yummy Mango Tornado - 10/10 My current fav, similar to a mango smoothie with cheese foam around the bottom of the drink (which adds to the deliciousness) and they use real fruit for their mango chunks (if you have a big sweet tooth like me, you'll enjoy this drink and Camo Thai) White Peach - 6/10 Honestly, this was my least liked drink yet, probably because it has a slight artificial flavor? This was my first time here, but I've heard this place was fantastic! Upon arrival, there was a long line wrapping around the neighboring store. My husband, brother-in-law, and I were in line for 25min. We placed our orders inside, and the options available for the drinks were wide and variable, which is always a plus. I ordered the omomo matcha, 50% sweet with oat milk. Decided not to get boba in my drink as I was a bit full. My husband ordered the strawberry green tea with aloe vera, and my brother-in-law got black jade milk tea with boba. I didn't really enjoy the omomo matcha drink as the caramel brulee was a bit too much for my liking. Please pardon my ignorance, but I'm not quite sure why it is called "caramel brulee," as it does not taste like caramel. Regardless, the cheesy texture and taste did not pair well with the matcha frappe, but this is just my personal opinion. I wouldn't get this particular drink in the future. Thought the matcha frappe at Dunkin Donuts was better, for comparison sake. Or the matcha milk tea at Ding Tea is definitely better. Again, for comparison sake. The strawberry green tea with aloe was a bit strong for me. My husband liked it, but preferred it to be sweeter, although it was 100% sweet. The boba was cooked well though, a lot better than other boba shoppes. Their cups are certainly durable and reusable- which is also a plus! Overall, the customer service was great, and the shop was clean. The female staff member taking our order was super nice and friendly. She was awesome. The pickup time after ordering was only 10min, which was super fast. Were the drinks worth the wait and as good as they were hyped up to be? Personally, not so much. This is the first time being able to try this place and I can understand why there is always a long line. It probably took 20 minutes of waiting in line but they make the drink pretty quickly I would say. I got a oreo brûlée matcha and it was something I never had before. The oreo and cream brûlée complement the earthy taste of the matcha very well. The drink isn't as sweet as one would expected with oreo and cream brûlée which I really enjoy. The cream brûlée and oreo made the drink taste more creamy. They also have cheese foam and tiramisu foam which isn't find at most boba place. 5/5 drink The place might still be remodeling is die since the chairs are not seated. I think having a self ordering kiosk would make the line go faster also. The place is very beautiful and modern inside. read more

The line is ridiculously long for what it is. Bottom line, not worth the wait. I had high expectation, given that there are this many people willing to wait for boba. Compare to boba around Los Angeles, this is far below average boba. I had the Black Jade Milk Tea with boba, and the boba was overcooked, the drink was bland with very minimal milk, and the tea flavor pretty much didn't exist. It's super loud inside, and throughout the line, but that's understandable. Parking is relatively easy, but the wait and the boba is really not worth it. read more

Wowza, what a line! With COVID, they only allowed one customer in the shop at a time so the line extended to the back of the alley! They also don't take phone orders at this location, so everything needs to be ordered in person. There goes the COVID precautions outside the shop lol. We probably waited ~ 30 minutes to get a drink, and obviously we weren't the only ones willing to wait. Since we were in the neighborhood, we had to see what the hype was about ! The final verdict? The Omomo Matcha is pretty unique, I have to say. Interesting snow slush-like consistency with bits of creamy goodness that occasionally makes its way through the straw. Nice matcha flavor and overall a filling drink. Honestly, it reminds me of Jamba Juice's Matcha Green Tea Blast with a slightly more authentic matcha taste to it. But would I make the drive out to OC or wait more than 10 minutes to order this again? Probably not. There's some other interesting items on the menu here, and maybe if the line wasn't so long I'd get to try more of them. Or hey, maybe open one closer to LA? :) read more

Since the other location in Irvine closed, this location has been pretty crowded every time we come. It's a small shop in a big plaza. Just simple decors, mostly takeout orders, some people usually sit outside. There are some tables and chairs outdoor for customers in the plaza. The drinks are pretty good. Not too sweet. Is it bad I don't understand the hype about this place? :( I feel really bad, but I don't understand the long line being worth it. If there's a consistent long line, I guess it means many many people like it! :) I went in right as they opened (no line) and it still took 15 minutes to make one drink (with no substitutions). I also went in a different time where there was also no line (around 3p on a weekday) and it took 20 minutes to make a drink. The tea itself is pretty good, but even with low sweet levels, they can still get quite sweet. Keep that in mind when you add in boba! I went to OMOMO Tea Shoppe after a late lunch at EMC Seafood. I ordered the mango tornado, the seasonal drink called the itchy peach, and the white peach with cheese foam. Well, I have to honestly admit that waiting in that long line to get these drinks was totally worth it. Each one of these drinks was 5 stars of yumminess!! Really delicious drinks with a refreshing combination of high-quality products and perfectly concocted genius. However, to make it a pleasant experience I do suggest you come here outside of rush hours lest you find yourself in a line reminiscent of one at Disneyland. I arrived about 15 minutes prior to closing and waited maybe 10 minutes before ordering. I ordered the Ceylon milk tea and it was sooo good! Omomo's line and hype is insane. I came here on a fun little trip to grab boba because there will be a supposed shortage coming up. I chose omomo because they have better tasting drinks than other boba shops. I ordered the strawberry tornado and the cashier who was so kind and nice asked me if I wanted the cheese foam. To be completely honest I didn't know what that meant so I said no since I don't usually like cheese in my drinks. What I didn't know what that the strawberry tornado would not have any milk in it what so ever. It tastes horrible without the cheese foam and is actually extremely sour without it. I did ask for it to be 100% sweet. It's extremely upsetting because when I came back to see if I could get my drink redone, I was met with resistance from all the staff. Marlene in particular told me that it since it was my personal preference she couldn't remake my drink. Honestly, I have NEVER went to a boba shop where they couldn't remake my drink for me regardless of how long their lines were. I'm absolutely shocked and disgusted by the lack of customer service here. Just because you're busy doesn't mean you can disregard a customer. I'm extremely disappointed in this business and I'm extremely unhappy with my service. I will say the only person that gave me a solution was the cashier where he suggested to give me cheese foam on the side. Thank you for being helpful. 5 stars for their Omomo Matcha, knocking off a star for the lack of online orders (so line is always super long), and very limited hours. The Omomo matcha is a blended matcha drink and while I usually don't like blended drinks, this one is delicious! Matcha flavor is strong, not too sweet, and not bitter. The blended isn't icy either which is good, it's more creamy. No other place makes a drink like this. I've tried their black and matcha milk teas and a few fruit teas and those are just ok, I personally wouldn't wait in line for those. I think they used to do mobile orders before 2020, but since then have not. As a result, lines and crowds are always present. The lines do usually move fast but expect a 30 ish minute wait if you go. Their hours are pretty lame too (and the fact that the locations have diff hours so you always gotta Yelp or google beforehand), I think this location is 12-8, and the other location is 10-5, or something like that or vice versa. Wish it was open like a lot of other boba spots from morning til night...ie 10-10!! I always want to get it before leaving town but can't because it's not open early enough or after dinner but can't because it closes earlier. read more

So finally decided to brave the 1 hr line for what amounted to iced tea with tapioca. Sorry - this place is ridiculous and overhyped. As far as I can tell the average age of its customers is around 14. Where they get the funds to pay high prices for tea and tapioca is a mystery. And yet they line up - ostensibly to take one of the same photos that thousands have taken before. Hey - it's me and tea and tapioca! I suppose if your goal in life is likes on a social media platform then have at it. But this is not that great of a product to justify an hour-plus of my life. Will never return. read more

TLDR: good but not worth the wait, even if you're visiting; unless you get the omomo matcha or other highly rated drinks It's a crazy long line, it took me about an hour to get through the line around 2pm on Black Friday and about 6 minutes to wait for the actual drink. We tried Omomo matcha 80% sweet with boba - this was good, the boba was soft and chewy, but not warm. The matcha came in clumps so there was a lot of strong matcha flavor, and it went really well with the rest of the blended drink Como thai 80% boba less ice I was disappointed with this drink. It's not bad but I thought it would be an icy drink like the matcha. It basically tastes like a slightly creamier not-as-strong Thai tea. The crème brûlée cream was subtle at best. Strawberry tornado 80% boba It doesn't look as pretty but it did taste good and refreshing; but I can find similar blended strawberry drinks elsewhere without the wait. Lemon alice 80% boba This tastes like a fresher chick-fil-a lemon shake. I don't feel as bad after drinking this and it goes well with boba. It is a good drink though and I found that I couldn't stop drinking it XD Overall the drinks are good but not exceptional except for the omomo matcha; I could find most of these drinks in the Bay Area. It would be good if I only had to wait for 15 minutes but not for an hour. I might have had a better opinion if I wasn't expecting so much from it; since I heard it was once of the best boba shops in Irvine. I would have rated it 4-5 stars then. I came on a Saturday afternoon and I anticipated there would be a wait so I did not mind it, the wait was about 30 minutes. I ordered the strawberry tornado and the oreo brulee green milk tea both with brown sugar boba. To start, the boba is not that great it was supposed to be brown sugar boba but I didn't not get any brown sugar flavor out of it or any sweetness at all... it was bland and needed flavor. Moving on to the drinks, they were both very light refreshing drinks but that is all they had going for them. The strawberry tornado tasted fresh and tangy but it was so weird... interestingly enough the tangy tasted like oranges but not like fresh-squeezed orange juice it just tasted orangey like Tang. I didn't get a strawberry tastes unless I was chewing on a piece of strawberry. The oreo brulee tasted off too nothing like its name. The tea was not strong I did not taste any tea flavor or brulee and the only oreo flavor I tasted was chunks of the white filling inside of oreos, it was not pleasant and sadly showed up in every sip. read more

There is always a long line for this place and I totally see why. The drinks are huge, beautiful, and tasty. We tried the omomo matcha and the strawberry tornado. The matcha flavor is strong and had globs of something that tasted like cream cheese? It was definitely on the sweet side and would recommend lowering the sugar level for customization. My brother is not the biggest matcha fan and found the flavor overpowering but I love matcha and found it perfect. It's definitely a fun drinks place to catch up with friends, and don't come if you're in a rush because there's always a long line! My favorites are: mango tornado, itchy peachy (seasonal) & Omomo matcha. The line could be long but it moves p quick. Parking lot could be busy/packed so I highly recommend coming here with a friend & get dropped off/ get in line before finding a parking spot. Omomo also enforced Covid-19 safety very strictly & employees are masked up/constantly enforcing 6ft social distancing. I feel very safe here even though the store/ plaza could be hectic. Worst customer service ever! I only come here because it is one of the newer boba places in Irvine and Im bored but wont be coming anymore. They have no accountability what so ever since they're really arrogant.
