I've had this place on my radar for a while, so I was so glad I finally had a chance to try them. Ate outside with my dog Muffin (there was no ramp that could have helped me bring her stroller up, but luckily I was able to lift it up...they may want to consider one in the future), which was very lovely and was somewhat reminiscent of the outdoor cafes I've remembered seeing in Europe. Service was pretty prompt, but she did give me plenty of time to make my selection and was helpful in describing the food so I would know what I was getting. Well, I think I made the right choice. I almost never drink soda, but when it comes to handmaid crafted soda, I'll happily make an exception. For my drink i got the blueberry vanilla soda. The tart blueberry flavor went very nicely with the smooth vanilla. My aranci app came next. Lightly breaded and fried, i thought the saffron gave it a unique flavor and the dipping sauce gave it a little kick. It was filling but not overwhelming, and left me with enough room for the scallop dish, which was light and delicious, with sauces that give it just a touch of decadence. Great dinner. Had a reservation for 2 and they tried squeezing us next to a large party that was too big for their table. Tried seating several people after us at the same spot and everyone declined. Moved us to another table that was sooo small and soooo sunny could barely see. It was very uncomfortable. Asked for a larger table and they said needed it for larger parties, yet it stayed empty our entire time there. Our waiter was nice but clearly inundated with too many other tables and short on patience. Never came around that often. Shared the French toast and avocado toast. French toast was undercooked, had very little taste and was not that hot when delivered. The avocado toast had more salad on it than avocado. I finally made it to On Swann and man was it worth the wait and the hype. Listen to the reviews and make a reservation ahead of time. Otherwise I'd imagine a long wait given they were jam packed on a Thursday evening. Tony greeted us almost immediately and helped explain the menu throughly while sharing guest favorites. We started with the kale salad which is an absolute must. The bacon added a salty bite while the cherries were a nice touch. The steak frites were chef kiss. The bone barrow and chimichurri were the right pairing. Although I'd ask for more chimichurri next time. There is plenty to share if you're into that. I can't overemphasize how much this restaurant went above and beyond expectations. I chose On Swann to celebrate my anniversary with my wife. Our table was set up with custom menus and the staff went out of their way to make our day feel special (which is always something we feel a little bit of anxiety about when we go out in FL as a same-sex couple). We were seated in an area next to a window where it was a little quieter, which felt intentional. The food was phenomenal, perfectly portioned, and presented beautifully. We ordered the cheese board to start, which was delicious. The specialty cocktails were reasonably priced for the quality and very good. I ordered the grouper, which had a perfect crispy texture with a tender fillet underneath. My wife had the steak, which is something she doesn't usually order, but she said it was cooked exactly as she requested. We finished with the cobbler, which is topped with a vanilla gelato. It's not too rich and it's got a good amount of tartness, which is my preference. Overall, we loved our experience here and could not recommend On Swann enough. It truly earns 5 stars. read more

Absolutely delicious! It was my first experience here. It started off quiet but got busy quite quickly... our waitress was attentive and brought us drinks promptly. My grouper was very good... the scallops looked amazing. The star of the show was the bread pudding. I will be back, if for just that. I wish I could have experienced the bar that evening, but I'll probably go back and sit at the bar, socialize with a cocktail or 2. And have the bread pudding. Maybe I'll have an app or even dinner too. The deduction of one star was the location of the table. And it's a very open and bare floored space, it's fairly loud, so be prepared for that. We weren't rushed; our server was very sweet and helpful. My friend had a couple of drinks from the bar. A great spot with a youthful vibe in Hyde Park! Came in on a Thursday night for dinner (definitely make a reservation!) and really enjoyed the night. You can find parking in one of the nearby garages (I think there are two) for free, and then walk over to the restaurant. There are tons of other restaurants and shops along the way which make it a great place to explore after dinner or during the day. When we walked in, the restaurant was packed with every table being full and close together. We were seated and ordered some cocktails. I had the Garden Social ($15) and it was very light and refreshing. The Winter in Oaxaca ($17) was sweet but smoky at the end. The Mi Alma ($15) was sweet as well. For the appetizers, we went for the Pimento Cheese with Lavash ($7) which was really yummy. I loved the soft cheese with the crunchy bread. We also had the Marinated Olives ($7) which I didn't try but everyone seemed to really enjoy. For the main, I went for the Grouper ($42) which was buttery and light. Maybe not $42 worth for such a small portion though. My friend ordered the Steak Frites ($54) and WOW was it good! The portion was huge and everything from the steak to the bone marrow chimichurri to the salad was good. Definitely upgrade to the truffle fries too, those were great. Another friend ordered the Short Rib Pasta ($25) and loved it as well. So much so that they made a short rib pasta a few nights later at home haha. Lastly, my friend had the Squash Ravioli ($24) and loved it. You can also add protein to the dish if you want it as well. She added burrata but it was never added to her dish. She decided to eat it without the burrata instead of sending it back, but I'm not sure if we were charged for it on the bill. After our meal, the manager brought over two Amuse-Bouches (small single bites) for our table. I'm not exactly sure why we got them but they were great! It was a fruit jam with a soft cheese, salty meat, crunchy toast, and herbs on top. A few minutes later she brought over two more so that everyone at our table could have one - so sweet! For a birthday at our table, our waitress brought over two giant sugar cookies which were delicious and so special. It was a great ending to the meal. The only negative of the meal was that there was a hair found in one of our drinks, which was promptly taken back and remade. It would have been nice to be taken off the bill but with all the free birthday goodies and new drink, all was well. Overall, the customer service was top notch and very welcoming, and I would absolutely come back to On Swann. read more

She would check in periodically but drinks were left empty for a bit too long for my liking. Once everything did come out it was really good. On Swann is hands down my favorite restaurant in Tampa. I have been numerous times and the food never lets me down. They have made a few changes to the menu over the years and although I preferred some of their dishes more before the changes, their food is always delicious. I actually prefer the starters to the entrees because they have some very unique options. When I go out with friends or family, we often get many different starters and eat family style. My favorite dish is the mushroom tartine. If you love tarragon, this dish is absolutely for you; the flavors are vibrant and fresh. I also love the carrot soup (seasonal), kale salad, and beet salad (have not seen the beet salad on the menu in quite a while, I would love it if they brought it back!!). I loved the mussels when they were served in a green curry, but they have changed the sauce and although it's still good, it doesn't match my prior experiences. Their hot chicken is CRAZY good. Perfectly cooked every time and with incredible hot honey and romesco aioli. Their entrees are also delicious (I love the short rib ragu best), but I am obsessed with the starters. Both their alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks are delicious. I love the blueberry-vanilla craft soda. The service is always wonderful and the restaurant itself is perfect for both an upscale or dressy casual night out. read more

We both got an extremely pretentious vibe here. As we're walking in to the restaurant there was two gentlemen right outside the door with wide stances dropping a few F bombs in their loud conversation but it's whatever... the front staff didn't even notice us until we got 4 feet close to them. Didn't really get a warm welcoming from them but again it is what it is. Our waiter was interesting that he didn't really seem to understand or be able to explain the menu to us. The food on the other hand was excellent! My wife got the pork chop, I got short rib pasta and we also got the wild mushroom toast. The wild mushroom toast was great. The combination of the roasted mushroom and the goat cheese spread was the perfect balance of savory and flavor. My wife's pork chop came with creamy grits and some kind of caramelized onions and cabbage. The sides were alright but the pork chop itself was possibly the best I've had in a long time. The portion could easily feed two grown adults or a very hungry person. My pasta was absolutely delicious. There was short rib, mushrooms and probably a few carrots in it. The different ingredients in the pasta definitely clicked very well with each other. Overall the food was phenomenal, I give the food a top quality grade when it comes to presentation and taste but customer service needs some refurbishing for sure. read more

It is a large place with both indoor and outdoor seating. It was noisy, but still enjoyable. The food and service were excellent. I was Pleasantly surprised because of how busy the restaurant was. The menu has a large amount of appetizers and small plates. There are several entrees consisting of beef, chicken seafood and pasta. We ordered 7 small plates and some drinks. We tried lamb meatballs with cheese grits, fig tart, spicy chicken, aracini, kale salad and a very unique mushroom dish. Everything was delicious.
