    White Fish plate JAN2026
    Franklin M.

I received some more BOGO coupons to use for this restaurant. They have nine different combo plates I could choose from so I ordered the White Fish and a Pork combo plate. These combos come with salad, rice, and macaroni salad. While I sat inside enjoying my dinner I saw at least ten orders being picked up, indeed it's popular for dinner.

This location is located inside a plaza behind panera. Parking is somewhat simple, just have to walk a little. I came during lunch time, so it was a little busy. The staff was nice and friendly. I was hungry but not too hungry, so I asked if I could order the kids meal. Plus, they had a Lilo and Stitch bag that was part of the meal which was too cute not to have. They accepted, awesome! My meal came pretty fast because none of it was fried. My coworker had to wait a bit for theirs because it was fried. One thing I noticed was once a customer leaves, their table never got cleaned. We wanted to clean the table, but there weren't any napkins available without bothering the staff. They have two gender neutral restrooms that are handicap accessible.

I think this is one of the worst Ono's I've been to. I came to pick up my order and I showed the worker my phone, which I brightened and enlarged so they can see. He started touching my phone with his hands and I immediately get the ick. He goes your orders not ready yet. I tell him that I need to go to work soon and he just stares at me and turns away to the counter behind him with all the boxes of food. He gives out someone else's orders, and goes to the next and wow the order that was sitting up on the counter is actually mine. What are the chances if you read? He proceeds to give me my food in a dirty bag.

Ono is a family-owned, fast-casual restaurant that serves authentic Hawaiian plate meals and other island specialties. The company recently celebrated its 20th anniversary last year. There are over 100 locations across California, and they are looking to expand to Arizona in the near future. I had a craving for Hawaiian food and saw that this place was nearby. I received a friendly greeting from Monica when I arrived. She was so sweet and very personable. I selected the Fried Shrimp Combo. It came with Mac Salad, steamed rice, and steamed vegetables. I also got an order of Crab Rangoon and a diet coke. I rarely drink soda, but I have to say fountain soft drinks are so much better than bottled or canned. Monica and I had an enjoyable conversation while I waited for my food, which was ready in less than 10 minutes. Driving home was torture because my meal smelled so good. I wanted to pull over and take a bite but as Yelpers know - "Phone Eats First." The serving size of the combo plate was generous. Enough for two people or two meals. The shrimp was fantastic! Crispy outside - tender & juicy inside and tasted good dipped in the Katsu sauce. The steamed rice was moist and not dry at all. The veggies (broccoli & cabbage) were perfectly steamed. The rice and veggies went well with the Teriyaki Sauce. I'm not a macaroni salad fan but this Mac Salad was very tasty! The Crab Rangoon was also a winner. The wonton was crispy and cream cheese crab filling was delightful. It also tasted good dipped in the Katsu Sauce. Ono means delicious in Hawaiian, and I can honestly say that my meal was 'Ono loa and definitely satisfied my craving. *Catering available *Ample parking in the lot.

The food was perfectly cooked and the teriyaki was sweet but not overpowering. The katsu had a great texture and flavor. The service was relatively quick since it was empty. The staff was friendly and informative to our questions. The restaurant is decorated with the restaurants items and fits the ambience perfectly. I will definitely return again to this restaurant.

Yes yes and yes. Showed up and the staff was really nice and they looked up my name for the Yelp elite event. They helped me decide what to get because I'm so indecisive per usual, Christian helped me he was super nice and asked what I like or what I was craving. It was a plate combo with a drink and an extra side! And you know I got the extra side as the macaroni salad. They gifted me a little bag Which was super cute!

It was late but Ono was still open so we came here and ordered a spam musubi. The seaweed and rice were warm and tender. Spam had just a small hint of sauce. It was good. Place is relatively clean. Didn't have to wait in line. Free and easy to find parking in the parking lot. Would come back again.

    Happy holidays in Hawaiian

Is it worth ordering a family meal vs 4 combo meals, trying to see what gives better value?

No! It's not a better value. If you check Ono's nutritional information, you'll see based on protein and calories, the ohana family meal is $7 higher than three à la carte…

It's more than I expected honestly. I usually do need quite a bit of food to keep my energy up, so I didn't really look up the portion size. I ordered a large macadamia nut pancake (comes with 3) with the cream on the side and an order of spam musubi (comes with 4). Highly recommend getting the cream on the side so you can control how much you want on your pancake. It's pretty sweet so I only wanted a light layer. Originally we planned to just share the pancakes and another dish, but when it came out, everyone's jaws just dropped. It is WAY bigger than any of us really imagined. We expected a small Denny's sized pancake. Nope, the pancakes were HUGE. Even when sharing, we were only able to share one pancake and had to to-go the other two for later. It fed me for 3 meals after that. I would like to say, being in here really reminded me of Hawaii. A few other things to keep in mind for your visits. I wasn't too thrilled about the flies, as I did spend a bit of our visit trying to swat them away. So do expect to battle flies every now and then. There's also a bathroom that's outside the restaurant that you have to get a key to open with. So if you're a super clean freak, you might want to make sure you don't need the bathroom while you're here. The water is also self served. This makes it easier so I don't have to keep flagging down someone.

The plate lunches were served with a generous portion of rice, steamed mixed vegetables, and a scoop of mac salad. The katsu was perfectly breaded and fried, while the chicken was tender and moist. The chicken teriyaki was tender and juicy, with a flavorful sweet-and-savory sauce that complemented the chicken nicely. The beef teriyaki was flavorful. The 2 spam musubis were loosely wrapped and came apart easily. The 2 mac nut pancakes were a large portion size. It was topped with a cream sauce that was not too sweet. Despite how busy the restaurant was, the staff remained friendly and hospitable. Overall, it was a satisfying and enjoyable brunch.

While I was staring at the menu deciding whether I wanted to get anything, several people came and went with their orders and everyone told me to get the fried chicken. So, I went inside and got the fried chicken with macaroni salad. A few mintues later, I added a katsu musubi to the order. This is not fast-food. The wait is real. About 12 minutes. I then had probably about 10 minutes of driving before I sat down to eat. The fried chicken is delicious and has a great crispy/crunchy skin. There is a faint sweetness that coats the chicken. The meat was not super plump like some national-chain places (I think those places brine-injected the chicken). Depending on your preference, this might feel too dry to you. Their dipping sauce for the chicken is very tasty. If they just sold that in bottles, I'd come just to buy that for use at home! Speaking of preferences, the macaroni salad is also well made, but it's simple and might be disappointing if you're expecting some kind of flavor kick. I liked it very much, because it is in the style of the basic macaroni salad -- someone described it as going home to Hawaii for them -- and I think that's what it is. Portions were enough to split into two meals. So I had half of my chicken and the mac salad. I had planned to also only eat half of the musubi. But it was delicious and had a nice crunch which I'm sure would not have held up being kept in the fridge. I really enjoyed the musubi on its own, but also enjoyed taking turns with bites with that sauce added on. I stored the rest of the chicken and mac salad in the fridge and then had them for dinner 6 hours later. Despite being in the fridge, the chicken still had a bit of a crunchy bite to it - it wasn't a mushy soggy mess. Very friendly service. This is not a sit-down place you go to for a dining experience - just a solid place to get food to go that will be delicious. Now that I've had the fried chicken that everyone seems to recommend, I'm looking forward to trying the rest of their menu.

I loved the batter: it was shatteringly crisp. The chicken was tender and flavored well, but I loved the sauce that came with it! For the mac salad, I thought it was just okay. It tasted a bit plain from other mac salads I've tried, but the noodles were cooked perfectly. For the price, the portion size is okay, but I'm not complaining since the food was good. Overall, the friendly service and fried chicken is what makes me want to come back again! I definitely want to try their other offerings too. Would recommend!

Whatever spice rub they use must contain MSG because, today (the day after) I feel dizzy, upset stomach, my joints ache, and I have a headache.
