Absolutely unacceptable. This location served my family raw chicken. Not "slightly undercooked"--raw. The chicken was cut, boxed, and sent out as if no one preparing or packaging the food bothered to notice. My pregnant wife and 2 1/2-year-old daughter nearly ate it. When I called, the employee was rude, dismissive, and showed zero concern that they had just served unsafe food. No apology. No accountability. No urgency. This isn't bad customer service--it's a food safety failure. If this is the level of care given before food leaves the kitchen, I have serious concerns about what happens behind the scenes. I came to Ono Hawaiian BBQ for dinner tonight at approximately 8:48 PM. Their posted hours state they close at 9:30 PM, so I expected there would still be plenty of time to order and dine in. When we arrived, the dining room had already been cleaned and was essentially closed. We were told they would be closing in about 10 minutes because one of the employees was going home. At that point, I suppose we were lucky to have made it through the door, because shortly afterward an employee began locking the entrance as the remaining customers left. I understand that unexpected staffing issues happen, and I don't fault the employee for explaining the situation. What I do find frustrating is that the restaurant was operating as though it had already closed, despite the posted closing time still being over 30 minutes away. If your posted hours say you're open until 9:30 PM, customers should reasonably expect to be able to order and dine in until then. If circumstances require an earlier closing, the posted hours should be updated or at the very least have a sign posted on the door. It was a disappointing experience and not the level of customer service I expected. read more

Lady at the window did not understand our order took many times of repeating many times. The food was off, the chicken katsu was under cooked our chicken was still pink! The teriyaki and katsu sauce were all watered down. This was the first time our experience was so bad, but it was so bad I do not see myself returning. The salad replaces the macaroni salad and veggies. Two scoops of rice is still included. Not keto friendly with all the carbs. lol I was pleased. No complaints. For hubby I got the Teriyaki Chicken plate. The portion size for the sides are filling. I couldn't finish my rice and salad. There was a lot of teriyaki chicken. I also got an appetizer of crispy shrimp for him. He said his food was good. I tasted his chicken. I might get the teriyaki for my entree on my next visit. Maybe we'll dine in next time. I come here a few times because, depending on who's doing the cooking I guess, the beef ends up over cooked or burned a few times. But today was amazing. Mariah took my mom and I order and she was so sweet and kind. She went ABOVE AND BEYOND with us!! I've never had someone who treated me like that at any Ono before. Of course, I'm not saying all the people there are rude, some are very nice. It's just I felt she was super attentive to the customer's needs! The food was GREAT and Mariah was EXCEPTIONAL!!! She deserves a raise!! :) She really made my day!! P.S. the tables do need a little cleaning as we had to look around for a table that didn't have sauce stains and crumbs. What a surprise! The salad was rich with it's fresh and strong dressing, the island fire chicken was sauced perfectly and had good spice to it, however the beef was a little dry. Not to worry, they have a Teriyaki pump so you can sauce it right up to your preference and even add flavor to that rice beneath the protein. You can also add hot sauce, soy sauce, or salt to your rice to liven it up a bit so no problems there. The portions were plentiful - this was actually two meals for the both of us. Dinner tonight and lunch tomorrow haha, which means it was a good value for these plates. They came in to-go containers already, so there was no problem there. The staff was friendly and allowed us to look over the menu and take others in line to keep it moving without hounding us for our order. This was my first time visiting Ono Hawaiian BBQ. After reading many positive Yelp reviews I decided to try it myself. Upon walking in I was greeted with a warm Aloha and welcomed in. Ordering from their menu is simple and I selected the BBQ Chicken and Katsu Chicken Combo. It was accompanied with delicious macaroni salad, steamed vegetables and perfectly cooked white rice. The food took less then 10 minutes to arrive at our table, leaving me ample time to self serve myself a drink and fill a cup of warm Teriyaki sauce from their self serve pump. The dining room is a bit sparse and the seating and tables are basic but very clean and serviceable. I will definitely be back and plan on making this my new go to for Hawaiian BBQ! read more

Let me start by saying I like the food. I usually get the Hawaiian BBQ Chicken plate and spam musubi. They're tasty and the portions are good sized. The employees are mostly friendly and courteous. Nothing to complain about. My major beef with this place is the long wait for the food, and the wait is getting longer. I've been coming here ever since they opened this location. Tonight, I called in my order knowing that it'll take them 15-20 minutes to have my order ready. I was placed on hold for more than 1 minute before they even helped me. I arrive at the restaurant 15 minutes after I placed my order. There were 5 orders ready to be picked up and 5 people in line waiting to order, and the employees are on the phone taking orders. I ended up waiting another 10 minutes before getting my food. That's 25 minutes to wait for what should be fast food. The manager should schedule more employees to work if the food can't be served in a timely manner. If the manager thinks 25 minutes is a reasonable time to wait at this place then I won't be dining here anymore. read more

When I went to the counter to get the right order I was accused of eating most of the meal when in fact I had one bite and spent about 8-9 minutes waiting at the counter. Ono Hawaiian BBQ teriyaki chicken bowl: This would have been outstanding. Why do I say "would have been"? Two things. 1) even though that looks like a bunch of cut up pieces of chicken, it's not. Someone forgot to finish cutting them. (I've noticed another reviewer had a similar experience) So. It was really one piece of chicken all connected to all the other pieces of chicken. (See pic). If you can't finish cutting the chicken then st least give me a plastic knife in my togo bag. Also. The chicken was a little gristly. b) the cabbage. Come one man! When cut up cabbage is so big, one bite is bigger than your mouth, cut it smaller! Again. Could have used a plastic knife... Oh. And a third one, I guess... only two tiny pieces of broccoli. (Sad face emoticon) Lots of steamed white rice though. And the teriyaki sauce is very, very mild. On a positive note, the food tasted very fresh! And the Krab Rangoon (cream cheese with krab mixture) was very tasty. Maybe I'll try something else next time and update this review accordingly.
