Paninis here are to die for! Especially the veggie! Food/drinks don't come out quickly..but good things come to those who wait, right? :-)

This spot is quite small and on the second floor of a mall so I suppose the ambiance wasn't the greatest. Also, there is only one woman working here so you can expect a long wait if they are doing any business. Now, I ordered a fresh veggie juice cuz I was a little hungover(extremely), the waffle, and the chicken pesto panini. The juice was perfect, no sugar added like you would get from a chain juice spot. The waffle came with whipped cream, sliced almonds, bananas, syrup and strawberries.... So damn good broseph! The panini was so good I punched myself in the face when I got home. It had a delicious pesto and was so juicy it was cray cray. The panini came with a side salad that was very fresh and simple with a little feta on top and what looked and tasted like a pesto vinagrette, which might have actually been for the Sammy, but who cares. I dropped four stars on this spot cuz there was a long wait and the ambiance is very mallesque, but I will definetly be back. read more

I went to this little cafe after doing some shopping at the Zion Market in K Town. My friend told me about the sweet potato latte so I had to check it out. The only sweet potatoes I know are the ones my mom makes covered in butter and sugar lol This was a bit of a departure for me. Anyway, I ordered a small and it tasted pretty good. I was searching for a new place to eat breakfast and read the Yelp reviews for the Orange Tree Cafe and decided to give it a shot. First off, readers need to know that this tiny smoothie/coffee stand is located in the middle of the "City Center on 6th" mall in the middle of Korea Town. I was confused as to where it was located until I wondered up to the second level, where I found the Orange Tree. I was a bit surprised to see how small it is (inside seating for 8) and how it appeared to only sell coffee and smoothies. Still, I entered and ordered a Belgian waffle and bacon from the nice woman who apparently owns the place. I was pleasantly surprised when she brought me a beautifully browned waffle, topped with freshly made whipped cream, strawberries, bananas and shaved almonds. The bacon, while tiny, was perfectly cooked. Overall, the meal was not only tasty, buy only set me back $7.20, including a large cup of upscale coffee! Even better, visiting the Orange Tree introduced me to the City Center on 6th, which houses a great grocery store and the Cake House, a truly amazing Korean bakery. This is my first review on yelp. Let me start by saying, I actually really used to like this place. I work in the building right next door so we started ordering lunches from here as soon as they opened. I'm pretty sure we were one of their first customers. The food was tasty, the lady was sweet and I appreciated how quickly and diligently she worked all by herself. They have solid sandwiches, salad options are just okay and their breakfast is great. I also really liked the pumpernickel bread that they use for the tuna sandwich, which you can also substitute for their usual panini bread. I would have rated the food and service a 4 for the sort of establishment it is - fast-food deli/cafe. But, as popularity started to grow, service began to slow... This is understandable of course and I was happy for her and her growing business. We learned to start putting in our lunch orders well in advance. She was still very nice, but when it would be busy, she would become very impatient. I didn't even have a problem with this because I thought.."Eh, she does pretty much everything on her own and busts a**. I know she doesn't mean it and the food is still good so it's worth it." The food and service at this time rated a 3.5. Today, I phoned in a lunch order and had a question about an item on the menu. I was wondering if I could make an addition to a sandwich. It must have been busy because she did not welcome my question very happily. Actually, it was pretty angrily. Then I went on and was about to start my order when....silence. She had hung up on me. I called back and started my order once more. I got out 1 sandwich and there were words still coming out of my mouth in an attempt to continue the order when....silence. She had hung up on me once again. Once again, I dialed the number. When she picked up I said I had not finished my order. She responded with, well can't you say it more quickly? ...I was astonished at her rudeness. And it's not like I was drawling or anything... I can't respect any establishment that would be so rude to a customer, and a long-time one at that. The food is still decent, but the service has really soured the taste. Down to 1 star you go. Seems harsh? Maybe.. But I'll happily raise the rating should this business earn it back and I fully intend on giving it the opportunity. more than a few people recommended coming here some drink that is really good for you when you have a cold/flu, and since I was almost ready to die, I thought I'd give it a try.... long story short, so gross, didn't get past 2 sips before I decided that having the flu was better than drinking this, anywhoo... the better part of the experience was the customer before us who order his coffee, butter-hands fumbled it when they person gave it to him and let it fall on the floor where it exploded everywhere. Worker didn't even flinch, just smiled, made him a new one (no charge), and came around to clean up all the mess. read more

I am an absolute fanatic for green tea. If there is anything with the word green tea, I will try it. So I stopped by this place for a drink because I was so thirsty and decided to try the green tea frap. OMG this place has the best green tea frap I have ever had... EVER. The quality of the green tea is obvious good and the proportion of the tea, milk, and sweetness is just perfect. The drink isn't overly sweet, the frap is very smooth without ice chunks, and is velvety all around. It is a little pricey, $4 for a drink, but its not a lot more than what you would pay at starbucks. I will definitely come back for this drink and maybe try a couple of different things :) read more

Been living down the street for almost 2 years now and I only just recently got a chance to try this place. I originally came for the waffle which I tried once but decided was too sweet for my liking. The next time I came I saw that they had an açai bowl and now I need my fix at LEAST once a week! The huge bowl is definitely worth $8. The açai tastes fresh, the amount of granola is more than fair, and the strawberries and bananas are always perfectly ripe. It also comes with sliced almonds and raisins. I don't even like raisins but they get all frozen and crunchy when you mix it with the açai and it really adds a nice touch. The lady who runs this place doesn't talk much but I can tell she works really hard to serve quality food and she seems super sweet and respected by the regulars who come here. When you pay with card it doesn't give you the option to tip but I told her to charge me $1 extra and keep it as her tip and she was super nice and thankful about it. Come to this place for the açai bowl! It's so much better tasting and more worth the price than ubatuba down the street. read more

On any given day you can get a delicious breakfast or lunch at Orange Tree Cafe. I've had the breakfast burrito and the Belgian waffle and could tell they were made with care. Ehhh...this place is 3 stars at best. I came in at 12 and waited at least 10 minutes before the lady even talked to me, but she stared at me a couple times and completely IGNORED me. I just stood there awkwardly waiting for her to acknowledge me. She was waiting for her waitress/cook? who was running late and got yelled at by the asian lady that ignored me. Finally the lady took my order, I ordered the waffle even though on their menu it says they stop serving waffles after 11am. But hey. I wanted to make sure the price included the toppings but she didn't answer me and seems like she barely speaks english so idk how this place survives. I was stressed out while waiting for the food because it's a food place inside a small mall and the lady would wear gloves then take them off, so I was pretty scared about that, and whether the strawberries and whipped cream were fresh. The whipped cream was different and sweeter than "normal" whipped cream. The waffle itself was pretty good, a little overcooked. It was very small but surprisingly filling. I waited 10 minutes to be acknowledged by a human, and about 25 minutes for the waffle to come out. I have to write this review because this place is a hidden gem. Other reviewers mention how the lady is not friendly and what not but they're obviously intimidated by an old Asian lady with a language barrier. Don't worry she ain't gonna hit you. I love the artichoke turkey sandwich. I've had it every time I've stopped in. The lady is always asking for input on her sandwiches and looking to improve on them. I love the fact she takes her time to make sure they're made right and to her standards. It may be a little slow to get out but I appreciate it all the more for the quality. The pesto type sauce for the salads is delish and there's usually a small layer of it in the sandwich. I think its great but don't want to over hype it. I hope people give this place a try, I'd hate for it not to be around. Location probably isn't the greatest but you definitely get a good deal. read more

I came here to eat lunch when I just landed. I was super hungry and wanted something quick to eat because I was eating by myself and had to do some shopping in Ktown. 5 stars! we are from Australia and we stayed in los angeles for 2 weeks and ate from this place almost every day for either breakfast or lunch. why did we go back so many times? The food was all made up of fresh ingredients and the secret family recipes tasted great! We must have tried almost every salad on the menu as well as several different juices and coffees. The stuff are great! friendly and very helpful. Of all the places we ate at during our trip around the states this place stood out to us.
