My husband and I came to Buffalo to visit my mom for Thanksgiving. She didn't want to cook, so we checked around online for places offering a turkey lunch/dinner. The menu on Orazios website looked great so we reserved a table for 1:30pm. First thing I noticed was the menu provided was different from the Thanksgiving menu on their website. There were 3 tables with customers but only one table had a server come and take orders. The restaurant was not busy at that point. Our server finally made an appearance after 15 min to take drink orders from the table next to us but didn't bother to greet our table. When she came to take our order for drinks, we put our food in too hoping to expedite things because it had already been a half hour. We were patient and tried to be understanding given it was Thanksgiving and many places short staffed with covid and all. 1 hour after our arrival time we received our soup. One hour. The tables in our section with another server were already eating entrees. Not really pleasant to watch other people eating when they come in half hour after you have. Soup isn't a hard thing to serve either as most places have it prepped and ready to go in a crock pot. When our turkey dinners came they were served smaller portions on different plates to the table next to us. And the food wasn't warm. Again, we didn't complain. The food was good. Just small and cold considering the $35 for a turkey dinner. Our server was more eager to provide the check as I am guessing her next reservation must have been due in as it was 2 hours since we arrived. She then gave us the wrong check. My mom asked for a box which was never provided. We had to ask another server who was more than willing to assist. We also overheard the other table complaining over the fact that the restaurant wouldn't accept their gift certificate. I really wanted to like this place. I read good things and my friend even recommended it. But based on that experience, none of us will be back. read more

Haven't been here for years until today. And this was the first time back since the change in ownership. The interior has certainly received a welcomed updating. Staff was friendly and efficient. Portions remain gargantuan in proportion. Very good fresh baked bread. Although smallish clams in size, an interesting and enjoyable preparation of clams casino contained shrimp as well. The chicken Francaise special was very good but perhaps had a bit tooooooo much butter as did the accompanying spaghetti. Lemoncello cake was fresh and light. The price of alcohol can add up quickly......a draft Peroni runs $9.50 plus tax and tip brings that close to $12.50. On the high end for beer. Have ordered takeout several times and have been very happy. The spaghetti parm is amazing here. Not something I would normally order but you get so much bubbly cheese. The pasta itself, I'm not sure if they cook it in oil or butter but it is sooo good. Probably unhealthy but makes the dish. I have had the chicken parm which is also fantastic. The salad and bread you get with the meals is average for the price. The inside of the restaurant looks nice but a little out dated. Would recommend for pasta in the Clarence area. read more

I brought my husband here for his birthday. We had never been here before but heard the food was great so we decided to give it a try! There were a handful of open spots in the parking lot so we figured we came at a good time (around 6:30 on a Saturday). It looked packed when we walked in though. The hostess asked if we had reservations. Uh oh. "No, we don't" I hesitantly replied. She said "I could get you seats at the bar..." and we said "nooo, we'd prefer a table." A moment of panic hit me! What if we came all this way and couldn't get a table? I didn't know this was a "reservations recommended" type of restaurant. Would we have to wait a long time for a spot to open? Would they have to seat us in the kitchen? Luckily, just a few seconds later, she cheerfully told us that she had a table for us. *Phew* We were seated in a quiet back corner by the bar. The floors are creaky and it smells like old varnished wood. It's definitely a building with history and character. For being busy, it wasn't obnoxious and loud! I actually loved the spot we were in. Servers were coming around every 10-15 minutes to refill waters. It seems like that is their only job- to walk around the restaurant with pitchers of ice water and refill glasses. It seems quite efficient! I never had an empty glass, which was pretty great! Our server was very pleasant. It took a few people coming to our table asking if we had been taken care of yet and "I'll go let the server know" before she came around, but it was actually ok because we had our waters already and had time to look at the menu and figure out what we wanted. She brought a basket of warm, fresh bread (yummmm) with some butter and fresh pesto. The crust was tough, so we couldn't eat the ends, but the warm, soft inside was very good. We started with the bruschetta appetizer, which was PHENOMENAL. I could've eaten way more of that but I had to remind myself to share it with my husband. I opted to eat it with a fork & knife because I found it to be too messy to pick up and eat. The menu says that the entrees come with a choice of soup or salad but our server only gave us a salad option. We both ordered our salads with the house Italian vinaigrette. It was very good, but there was too much poured on. (And I like a lot of dressing!) I would suggest asking for your dressing on the side. The homemade croutons are delicious! I wish there were more vegetarian options on the menu but I am happy with what I ordered. Husband ordered the pasta & broccoli dish. He loved it! I ordered the fettuccine alfredo with broccoli. Let me tell you... It was eye-closing good. Do you know what I mean? When you take a bite of something and it's so amazing you just stop moving and close your eyes? It happened to me. I was actually happy that I was too full to finish it because I couldn't wait to take it home to have leftovers. The portions are huge. Note that there is a $5 charge to split plates. Our server took our plates to box them up (yeah it's one of them fancy places that box your leftovers for you!). We had to ask for them when she dropped off our check though because I think she forgot to bring them back. There was no way I wasn't going home without those heavenly noodles! Our bill came to about $45, which is a bit pricey considering it was just one app and two entrees, but the ambience is nice and the portions are large. I recently went to a wedding shower that was held at Orazio's. I had never heard of them and found out they had moved from the city out to Main Street in Clarence. So the menu we were served was from the catering selection. They served a lemon chicken cutlet with lemon butter pasta and garlic butter green beans. They also started with a truly fresh and delicious salad which had a lovely Italian dressing that had a bit of zip in the vinegar. The table also had a basket of bread and butter which was nice and soft with a crunchy crust and butter. The chicken looked breaded and browned beautifully and everyone finished theirs but because I'm a vegetarian I didn't taste it. When I asked for a vegetarian meal they brought me a huge portion of the lemon butter pasta and an equally huge portion of the garlic green beans. They were both delicious and I would definitely have taken the rest home if I had a chance to ask. The service was impeccable!! The waiters were very efficient without making anyone feel like the were hovering or hurrying us out. The room was very private and had lots of bright windows and was decorated very nicely. Orazio's is much more upscale than the common mom and pop converted house restaurant that is around this area. There is a big parking lot and professionally designed dining and bar area. The place is always busy anytime of the week and when we went it was busy. While the service was a bit slow it worked in our favor since the portions were so big it took some time to digest between courses. The prices are downright fair. We had the ravioli, spaghetti, lasagna, sausage, meatballs and chicken parmesan. Everyone loved their entre's and I though the red sauce was nothing short of amazing. The bread was big and warm and the soups and salad where delicious as well. The doggy bags were past around to enjoy the meal another day. Orazio's is one of the best Italian places in town. Orazios has now become one of my favorite Italian restaurants in the area. The feel of it is relaxed. It is decorated nicely, has low Italian music playing with candles lit on the tables. Orazios sauce is delicious. I have ordered their pasta con vodka and spaghetti parm before. Their dishes are huge and you will be absolutely be taking left overs home. Between the fresh bread, an appetizer, soup/salad, then a large main course; there's no way I could ever finish it all. Each time I'd like to try their peanut butter pie but haven't had the room yet. The most recent time I went we ordered the rice balls. They were larger than others I've had at other Italian restaurants. Reheated their spaghetti parm doesn't turn extremely greasey like others I've had, which tells me they really use quality ingredients. Their prices are extremely reasonable I feel. For as much for as we get, I'm never left feeling like we broke the bank on a night out to dinner. Have been frequenting here since I was a child (thanks Mom and Dad for introducing me to great food!) and it has never disappointed, so much so that I had my wedding reception here at Portofino's (the back banquet hall). Personal favorite is their specialty, the Pasta con Vodka, which is just excellent. On a normal night for dinner, the servings are so large and the bread is fantastic that you leave so stuffed. For our wedding, the case was not any different and the food/service was so excellent; all of our guests felt the same. Now, I am not typically a peanut butter pie kind of girl, but I can (and will) down a piece of theirs. So rich and creamy, just delicious. We just found this little gem. Our server Sam was a delight, very pleasant and accommodating!! First warm bread w/oil . We got the mozzarella 'logs', we were told we had to get em -- YUM. We went here hoping to enjoy their outdoor seating option, however it ended up raining so we had to eat inside. Luckily for us the dining room was pretty empty and they had tables sectioned off to ensure social distancing. The food was so delicious and the portion sizes were huge. I really enjoyed the Mahi special and my husband thought his seafood risotto was great. We both had leftovers. For dessert we had the peanut butter pie and the cheesecake, also both delicious. Such a disappointing Easter brunch for $32. Where do I start? The chicken cutlets were so tough I think we were eating shoe leather. Went here for a birthday dinner with the girls. First off, it's not a gigantic place, so why oh WHY do hostesses insist on sitting people RIGHT NEXT to other occupied tables? It's not like wait staff has to walk far from one end of the restaurant to the other. We were all carrying gifts, she knew it was a birthday get-together and probably not going to be super quiet--- why sit us right next to a family sitting together when the restaurant was 3/4 empty??? We requested to move tables and thankfully were allowed to do so. 2nd issue: The restaurant was COLD. I mean... super chilly to the point where I ate with my coat and scarf on. Eventually the bartender came over to adjust the thermostat, stating that it must be on a timer that is messed up b/c the heat kept going down to 63. Uhhhhhh... yeah, that's chilly. 3rd issue: the food just wasn't awesome. Two of us really liked our food (the pasta con vodka got good reviews and the spaghetti parm with meatball too. portions were HUGE, also) but note that their spaghetti sauce is SWEET. Super sweet, actually, almost to the point where sweet-sauce lovers are turned off. The big issue: the chicken in the dishes looked boiled - totally white, no seasoning or flavor on it - and chewy. Yuck. Now, I'm a fan of extra saucy dishes, but the Chicken Amelia that was served was DROWNED in the garlic butter sauce. It was swimming in it and the sauce inundated the other ingredients to the point where ALL you tasted was garlic butter. We didn't get a HINT of wine in this "wine sauce" as described on the menu - it tasted like shrimp scampi sauce without the shrimp. The meal went totally uneaten and the waitress just boxed it up without comment. Guess the dog is eating well later.... 4th issue: No creamy blue cheese dressing?!!?!? They offer "only blue cheese crumbles" - no thanks. It's a shame, b/c the salad was actually quite nice. Service was really good (and she had mentioned she only started within the last week). They allowed us to bring in our own birthday cake and sliced it up for us, which was nice! The ambience is nice for an adults-night out. Maybe we had an off night... My husband and I just love going to Orazios by Zarcone. I usually get some type of seafood pasta with this time. I changed it up and took chicken parmesan I forgot to mention that I wanted angel hair pasta and I was told by Rick the waiter that there was no problem at all for me to make that change after a few minutes after placing my order. This review is based off the Father's Day buffet , not off the restaurant menu and service they have typically. All you can eat including beverage for $30 per person . Service was slow at first, took about 10 minutes for the server to greet us and take our drink orders, then she forgot to give coffee to one of us, plus eating utensils were missing from the table. A great selection of pastas, breakfast choices, meats and salads, but I must admit the food could have been fresher and hotter. We only saw the cooks replenish a few items in the hour and a half we sat there and while some of the chafing dishes still had food in them, the quality decreases while sitting that long. (for instance the seafood Mac and cheese would have been amazing if the sauce didn't break and it was fresh) A word to the wise though-save room for dessert! Several of their desserts are made in house and had tons of flavor.... peanut butter pie is their specialty! The server also got it together and made some great suggestions dessert-wise. I came here with my girlfriend on a Wednesday evening. The property itself has plenty of parking, and clearly visable signage from the road. We made a reservation for 5pm but after arriving, we realized a reservation was not needed at this time of day. If you have your pick of seating i wouldn't recommend near a window during the colder months, we had to keep our jackets on the whole time due to the cold air seeping through. This was our second time coming here, and it was just as amazing as the first time even though ownership had transferred. The mixed drinks hit the spot, and I couldn't get enough of my dish. I ordered the same dish as the first time, shrimp and scallop Alfredo. I've ordered it twice now, and will be ordering it again when i go back, i just cant get enough of it. I cant comment on the desserts because the main meal is so filling and the portions are big so i had more to bring home. We went here for a thank you dinner. Some of the highlights were the huge lasagna, chicken parm and peppadel di (a steak truffle dish that was great). The pasta is homemade. Sauces are great! The chicken pastina soup was very good. I would not recommend the stuffed artichoke. It was all bread crumbs and no artichoke. It was like eating plastic leaves. We let the waitress know, but she didn't do anything about it. I'm guessing ours was over cooked possibly?? The calamari was pretty good. Please never go to this restaurant. We made reservations for Christmas Eve and were so disappointed. We arrived early to find absolutely no ambiance or decorations and shabby treatment. After waiting at our table for over 45 minutes, we were greeted by a waitress whom I felt sorry for- she was clearly under stress and said we would get water shortly- another 15 min and we received water. The menu was shortened ( not told on phone about this in advance) with nothing appealing- special was lamb stew. We made a drink order of 3 old fashioned, one martini and a white wine. Drinks came about 15 min later: old fashioned drinks were full of grenadine (never ordered that way), martini was espresso, set on table in a wine glass- waitress said "sorry, but we ran out of martini glasses" ( it was 6pm). The martini looked like swiss miss chocolate drink with floaters in it. We told the waitress that this was not what we ordered and asked her to please send them back. She apologized and said "I'm sorry, but I knew the drinks didn't look right, and that they didn't know what they were doing" She also said "We are short staffed and have all new people" At this point, when waitress returned to take an order, we had decided not to stay- gave her our card and said to charge us for the wine (some was sipped, but no other drinks were touched) She came back with a check that was already charged, without our permission for 81.57! This included all drinks that were sent back ( drinks were charged, plus a "muddling fee of 6 dollars per drink) There was a charge of 15.00 "bread service" for a small basket of bread waitress had set on table that looked unappealing. We told her we were NOT paying a bill for drinks we didn't drink and, by her acknowledgement, were made incorrectly and that she returned to the bar. She sent the owner to our table. He came to our table and stated firmly in an argumentative tone that he would not remove the charges from our card - tried to blame the waitress for bringing us " the wrong drinks" and insisted we would not be refunded- all of this on Christmas Eve. We promptly left to avoid further embarrassment from the owner. One lesson learned, is never give your card( assuming good faith and fairness) in advance of seeing what the charge would be in this kind of situation. Feeling sorry for the waitress (and any employee here) we left her a cash tip. It's too bad for our "good will" to have been thrown in our faces by a restaurant owner on Christmas Eve. read more

I have recently moved away from Clarence but am always excited to come back to the area, this time it was Orazio's for some good, home-style Italian food. I came with a large party of eight for a birthday and the experience was quite delectable. The restaurant is on Main St. in Clarence and the inside of the restaurant definitely had a more upscale feel to it. The menu offered quite a wide variety of appetizers, entrees and desserts. I was in between the shrimp marinara and tripe but ended up going with the shrimp marinara. Before our entrees came out the server brought out plenty of warm bread that was fresh out of the oven. As for the entrees, the portion size was just gigantic. I am still eating leftovers ~5 days later. I swear they gave me about a pound of pasta. I almost wish they gave you less food and thus charged you less. The serving size is just too overwhelming. Overall the dish had a generous amount of shrimp and a sweet marinara sauce. Overall it was very flavorful but just too big of a portion. They also have a wide variety of desserts with gelato and sorbet flavors that regularly change. The servings of gelato are also very big and could even be shared among 3-4 people, which we did not know so we each ended up getting our own with some going to waste. The birthday girl was even given some gelato with a candle on top! Overall this place offers home-style Italian food with some insane portions. The server was very attentive with our large party of eight. Be very careful. We received a gift certificate that they wouldn't honor. The first time we tried, they were too busy to look up the code on the certificate. We called two other times to ensure the gift certificate could be used, but the gentleman who answered the phone was still unwilling to help. I asked for the owner to call me - he never did. I ordered Pepperdelle De Manzo - very tasty. A lot of sun dried tomatoes, so I would probably order without next time, but it was delicious. My husband had the Bolognese and he really enjoyed it. Today was my first visit to Orazios and I must say I was pleasantly surprised at the experience. First off the ambience is definitely casual Italian for sure and not noisy at all so you can actually have a great conversation or dinner. As an appetizer I had the 3 cheese jalapeño soup, warm, tasty, creamy with just enough heat to it. Very good! Along with this we where served a loaf of homemade bread which was also fresh out of the oven to it was nice and fresh and warm as can be!!! Loved it! For the main course I had the pasta con vodka and added chicken to it. I had to try this dish since it won best tasting in NYS. The dish looked terrific when it reach the table wish is always a plus! The dish was nice and hot and after tasting I thought the sauce tasted fantastic! It was very nice to try something new and "out of normal" when going out for Italian food. They serve you a very generous portion as well I might add for your meals! The noodles where cooked perfect, the chicken was flavorful with just the right amount of flavors swirling about in the sauce! Great job Orazios! I can see why this dish has won awards.
