Just wanted to say I visited here last week with my gf...She got a creamy pasta dish with asparagus that was on special...She loved it and without hesitation gave it a 5 out of 5 when I asked her to rate it....I got the ravioli....It was homemade but nothing crazy about it....One thing i really enjoyed was their red sauce....It was very sweet, and tasted delicious...Jojo tried it, and she agreed as well.... We both also had salads, and chose their "famous" homemade italian dressing as the waiter described....We both enjoy the dressing very much....Very tasty ! They also give you homemade bread...It was soft and warm in the middle but the outer edges were one the very crispy side....Jojo liked this, I don't care for the super crispy crust.... We asked the waiter to pick one of two red wines that Jojo picked out for our dinner...He did, but it turned out to be a little dry for out tastes....The waiter was attentive, and returned to our table multiple times. Like other posts, we too had a less than favorable experience for the Thanksgiving buffet. We were lured in by the advertisement of carving stations but they did not deliver. Presentation was poor and quality of food was mediocre at best. Considering this was a buffet, we thought having 2 servers for our table would guarantee service, but we barely could get server attention to order refills on drinks. I get the difficulties with COVID, but expected a meal that was worth the $42 price tag. Unfortunately, we made the wrong choice for our celebratory Thanksgiving meal. read more

My favorite dishes here are the pasta con vodka, chicken salvatore, and the eggplant Parmesan. Desserts are pretty good too. You will never leave hungry. I always end up packing food to go. They really know how to package your food. Ceramic wrap the entire box so no sauce leaks out while you are driving home. Keeps your car food-smell free too. The service is fantastic. Friendly, classy and professional. The restaurant is a bit far from where I lived but it is always worth the drive. You get more than what you pay for. read more

I can't say enough about the incredible meal we thoroughly enjoyed at Orazio's on Christmas Eve. Western New York ex-pats that we are, our infrequent visits are always peppered with visits to local eateries. And, our family made reservations here for the holiday. To begin with, it was simply a delightful surprise that I was able to order and be served a stinger cocktail. Most restaurants have no white Creme de Menthe and this is a key component. Thank you, Orazio's, for knowing this classic cocktail and for being able to serve it. House made bread was hot and ample, a treat that is becoming more rare every day. We stared with crab and shrimp beignets served with a spicy caper sauce and shrimp cocktail for appetizers. A little saltier than expected, the beignets were fantastic otherwise and the sauce an amazing compliment. The shrimp cocktail was fresh and chilled perfectly with a great snap at each bite. As for the seafood bisque, what an exceptional soup. Where often bisques can take on an overpowering pungency, this seafood bisque was light and sweet with the delicacy of a well made and homemade seafood stock. For dinner, we chose lobster tail with roasted potatoes, lasagna, Christmas pasta, and Bleu cheese crusted tenderloin. All selections were part of the special Christmas menu. Not one dish was a disappointment. Starting with the last ax the red sauces was rich and deep in roasted roma tomato flavor, perfectly balanced with a slight sweetness. This is a house sauce made on site. The lasagna noodles and layered meat and cheese were on perfect balance, a feat that is kit easily achieved but for expertise and years of experience. The lobster was a perfectly butterflied and puffed tail, sweet, mellow, and tender--worth every bit. As for the tenderloin filet, what an exquisitely theses and well-season cut topped with a fires crust of blue cheese. The traditional sharpness of the Bleu cheese, which I normally love, was tempered by the end broil. It was a wonderfully delicate balance to the dish. Christmas pasta was the final dish for our foursome and truly an amazing feat of masterful saucing with delicate seafood cooked to tender perfection(and, we are talking scallops that were at the perfect texture and sweetness along with tender fresh shrimp). Green peppers and sautéed tomatoes rounded out what I can only describe as a fantastic meal suited perfectly for a joyous holiday. It is a shame that this dish is available only in Christmas Eve. If it were possible to kiss the cheeks of all the chefs and kitchen staff, I would have done in thanks for their excellent preparation and execution of home made fantastic food! This is the stuff that feeds your belly after it fills your soul. We capped off our meal with cannoli in two favors: citron and chocolate chip. Although the shells are not house made, the filling was divine. Had I thought ahead, I would have chosen a lovely grappa to compliment the dessert. A well-deserved nod must gimme given to our server Diane who was so very knowledgable, friendly, and honest in her service--an added appeal and warmth that was the perfect highlight to our evening. In Clarence, New York, Orazio's is an unpretentious quality Italian restaurant fully able to hold more than its own in a market that has plenty of home-based Italian restaurants. I had the broiled scallops which were perfectly prepared. I don't think I've had better. The dish comes with potato, garden salad, and a cooked vegetable. I had red potatoes along with yellow and zucchini squash. Both were excellent with good portion size. There were two minor things that prevent five stars. The drinks and salads arrived quickly but the meals took longer than normal. It was about 45 minutes and we arrived at the restaurant well before the heaviest dinner rush. Maybe there was a problem but it would have been nice to know. We were forced to skip dessert because of tight timing, and the desserts sounded great. The second issue is the chairs. They have seen better days and aren't very comfortable due to the fact that the seat cushions are starting to sink into the chair frame. Overall, very good. read more

Came here for a baby shower at Portofino's on Saturday. Was a GREAT meal! I think it was honestly the best brunch I've ever had because there was a great variety of foods and they were ALL good! The champagne punch was delicious. Had a kind of tropical flavor to it. They had a great variety of teas, including herbal- a huge perk for me since I try to steer clear of caffeine for the most part. The brunch included 3 salads- 1 was fresh fruit and looked amazing though I didn't try it. Another was a sort of chopped salad with walnuts and dried cranberries with a balsamic vinaigrette. YUM! And the third was a perfect seasoned caesar salad. My mouth is literally watering just thinking about it. Their fresh bread is AMAZING. Not sure if it's made in house or if they buy it from someplace, but it's awesome! They had eggs with sausage and peppers- it has a fancy name but I don't remember it. Pasta con vodka, homefries, bacon, and french toast. Everything was seasoned perfectly and was of very high quality. We had a bridal shower here for my sister a few years ago and I had the eggplant parmesan- it was DELICIOUS. I really have nothing negative to say about the food nor the venue, which is really nice and classy. The service was outstanding as well. Orazio's food is consistently high quality and delicious. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!!! My boyfriend and I went here to celebrate my birthday and it was quite possibly the worst restaurant we've ever been to. It started out with a lipstick stained water glass, very appetizing. We ordered mozzarella sticks to start, they were ok, WAY too much cheese in them though. We then ordered the salmon special, a shrimp and scallop linguine, and a seafood risotto. We could only eat a few bites, it was some of the worst food we've ever been served. Not to mention the dishes ranged from $35-$45 each. BEYOND overpriced. We don't mind paying for good food, and weren't phased by the prices until we tasted the low quality food. Do not waste your money here! The restaurant was almost completely empty, which after I tasted the food I was not surprised by. Service was average however the server lacked any menu or drink knowledge, as well as had mediocre table presence. I am a server myself so I am always very understanding when it comes to poor service or even poor food, however this was beyond disgusting and I am only leaving this review in hopes others don't make the same mistake I did. First time here while in Buffalo for work. Very open friendly atmosphere with Sinatra playing in the background, as any Italian place should have. Casual yet nicely dressed patrons with a family/kid friendly vibe. Reservations not necessary but good idea to call ahead. Megan took care of me tonight. Got my wine choice and fresh baked bread. Wow the bread was a whole 1/2 loaf of warm fresh baked goodness. With olive oil (great flavor as far as I'm concerned) parm cheese and crushed red pepper to make your own dipping oil... big thumbs up for this! Had a glass of the Merlot from Italy, nice flavor and went great with the bread. I also got a Ceaser salad surprise to me it comes with tomatoes. So if you don't want them better ask. On to main course. I picked the Rafael. It's sautéed Shrimp & Scallops on a bed of fresh house made angel hair pasta with olive oil garlic & chives. The dish was very hot (temperature wise) and presented very well with a sprinkle of Parmesan on top. Very tasty as well about 5 shrimp and same for the scallops. BIG portion of pasta. I finished all the shrimp and scallops. As expected I did not finish the pasta. It was good but I couldn't eat a pound of pasta by myself. The only weird thing was that when I said I was done with my plate and didn't want dessert Megan took my plate and also grabbed my wine glass which had a sip left in it...??? Huh? Worst dining experience I have had in a very long time. We had a reservation for a party of 12 to celebrate a birthday. There was a line out the door of people waiting to be helped due to nobody at the host stand, for about 10 minutes we stood in the doorway without being helped along with 4/5 other groups. They were very obviously under staffed. Once we were seated we were informed that they were out of most of their appetizers, a few entrees, and certain ingredients to other entrees. We still decided to stay because it was easiest for our group. We ordered 2 portions of mussels because they claimed to be out of clams, and the smell was absolutely awful. Soup/salad came with most entrees, which most of the party agreed the soup was better than the entrees. Clam shells came in the pasta for one entree where they claimed they were out of clams. I ordered the fettuccini alfredo and after about 4 bites pulled a hair from the center of the plate. I asked them to take it off the check and throw the rest out. After we get the check and are about to pay we notice a "Bread/Salad service" charge for $10. I ask our server and she said she has to ask and she's never seen it before. When she came back she informed us it was a $10 charge for the cup of soup that came with the entree that was taken off the check. I found this to be absolutely ridiculous and a cheap money grab, especially due to the other circumstances throughout our visit and an otherwise large check of $700+. This experience was enough to ensure it is highly unlikely we come back in the future, especially because nothing was done to make this right. read more

My husband and I had our wedding reception here this past weekend and I cannot say how happy we were with everything. From the tiniest detail to their massive meatballs, everything was near perfect! Diane I think was the head waitress and she was so nice and kept us on the up and up with food timelines etc. Their presentation of the appetizers was amazing and looked so grand. Half my guests came up to us and said they couldn't get enough of the spinach dip- it was out of this world! And their homemade bread??! I wanted to take 10 loaves home with me! They set up everything without any mishap so that was one less thing I had to worry about and everything looked exactly how I imagined it would. I had their Famous Seafood Fra Diablo which should be famous, it was unbelievable (wish I had a camera phone), you wouldn't believe its size. We came here for a birthday celebration for 10 adults and 5 kids. Reservations were easily secured and everything was ready upon arrival. The decor was homey, and my only complaint would be that the tables are packed quite closely together. It was ok since our group basically took up the entire area, but I would be leery eating so close to other people. But that is my personal preference. The service was great. Our server was very attentive and kind, even to the young kiddos who were ordering their own food. I don't think our glasses were ever empty and we were definitely impressed that everyone got their food exactly the way we wanted it, and all at the same time. I hate it when the group awkwardly sits while half the food gets cold. This was certainly not the case! All in all, it was a great experience. The only thing what would have made it better is more space because as the night progressed with more dinner guests, I felt cramped and disliked hearing other people's conversations. I like trying out new restaurants and decided to come here for restaurant week with a few friends. The restaurant felt homey - I felt like many customers are regulars and probably have been coming here for many years. The staff seemed to really know some of their customers as well. Now for the food, we were served a 4 course meal, starting with soup - broccoli cheddar or chicken pastina, then garden salad, the main entree, and lastly dessert - peanut butter pie or spumoni. I had the broccoli cheddar and thought the soup was standard and a bit too salty. I was told the chicken pastina was quite good. The garden salad was also standard. For main entree I had pasta con vodka with chicken tenders and my friends had seafood fusilli and prime rib. I choose the pasta con vodka because it had the 'NY state best dish award' and I had high hopes for the dish. Unfortunately I did not enjoy the dish as much as I had hoped. I was expecting the chicken tenders to be actual chicken tenders, just cut up and placed on top of the dish, but it turned out to just be chunks of chicken thrown in the mix. I felt like that should not be called chicken tenders on the menu... it was very misleading. Mixed reviews on the seafood fusilli from my friends - one really liked it and one barely touched her dish. And after trying the prime rib we all agreed that it was not worth it's price tag. The desserts however were delicious. The peanut butter pie and spumoni actually went really well together. The spumoni was very refreshing - I loved the combination of chocolate, pistachios, and cherry. The peanut butter pie was rich but not overly sweet. Overall, I don't see myself returning again, I just personally did not enjoy the food as much. I'm not Italian so I can only judge the food based on my own palate. But I can see why many customers return - the atmosphere is homey, the staff get to know you, the food portions are HUGE (I love having leftovers for another meal!), and the desserts are quite good as well. read more

Amazing ! We went for lunch and it wasn't busy at all which at first scared me because we just picked a random place to eat so I was nervous it wasn't going to be good. I unfortunately forgot our waiters name but he was an older gentleman and was so kind and knew the menu and could answer any questions we had honestly, he really knew his stuff! Went to dinner early for my mother Birthday. She's 72. We were the only ones there at 3:30 started out great. Appetizers were great! Soup was great also. I ordered Steak Diane, my mother ordered the Bolognese pasta. She gets back it was cold. How is a bowl of pasta cold???? Then as I start to eat my asparagus it's Luke warm. I cut into my steak it's not even hot!!!!!!! Really? A message well steak wasn't hot at all!!!! Not only did the waitress not apologize or have the "owner" come over or WAN!!! Who ever he is. My mother complained after not one of them said anything. Then "WAN" the manager guy came over because they said the owner was too busy. He acted as if we we were some bum off the street. I've been wanting to try Orazio's for a while now and FINALLY came here a week or so with my boyfriend. We came on a Tuesday evening and were seated pretty quickly. Our waitress was very friendly and we both ordered the Fettuccini Alfredo with Chicken. Both meals came with salads and bread for the table. The bread is definitely delicious, it comes out warm and is very tasty. The salads are your typical salads, but their house dressing is what I recommend with it. As for the Fettuccini Alfredo - it was delicious. Came out very hot, the chicken is mouth watering and the sauce is amazing. Very creamy. It is a big dish, so be prepared to take some home with you. I didn't finish it all and the waitress seemed disappointed when I said I didn't want a box to take it home, but is wasn't because it wasn't good!! I just find when you reheat fettuccini alfredo, the sauce seperates and doesn't really taste the same. I would definitely recommend it to others as I really enjoyed it. My boyfriend liked his as well. We also had the whipped cheesecake for desert. It is a creamy homemade whipped cheesecake, frosted with a whipped cream cheese frosting and garnished with chopped walnuts. Definitely a different texture then what you are used to with cheesecake, but it was definitely "lighter". Very tasty and the chopped walnuts really gave it an extra flair. It was perfect. All in all, yeah - it is a little pricy, but I personally think it is well worth it. Especially for a date night or special occasion. I can't wait to go back! read more

I've always been a fan of Orazio's. We have dined with them frequently and every New Year's Eve. This year, however, was a terrible disappointment. We were seated in an overflow room even though we had early evening reservations and most tables were empty. The room was cold and boring and far placed away from the restaurant itself. The menu lacked variety. No steak, pork to speak of. The sauce used on both my husband's order and mine was loaded with sugar. Almost sickening. Salads were boring. 1st time back since new owners and we wait 1.5 hours for our food. My friends shrimp was bad and the kitchen said "NO ITS not, it's fresh" They didn't offer to fix the issue and the waitress felt bad and asked the manager Lon for it to be taken off the bill and he said NO. My food was not hot and meh, my other friends soup was cold as well and the food didn't even all come out at the same time. Every time I come here, it is always a great meal and always a LOT of food! Tremendous deal! The Seafood Rafael is a great dish for the lighter minded. But the Chicken Parm is always my favorite! This restaurant strikes me as the kind of place families have been going to for a long while -- a tradition if you will. It's filled with local patrons -- the meal is clearly intended as a treat. It's the epitome of "old-school Italian" but the inside of the restaurant has a wedding-reception venue kind of vibe. The tables, settings and chairs contribute to this. Likewise, the food is traditional Americanized Italian. I don't know this for a fact, but it's easy to imagine the menu today is the same (or very similar) as it was twenty years ago. We were a party of five and ordered the following -- servings are ENORMOUS: Chicken Parmesan (at the cordial and friendly waiter's recommendation) Spaghetti with tomato sauce and sausage the meat Lasagne Manicotti with meat sauce Cheese Ravioli with meat sauce Everyone enjoyed their meal, which comes with a choice of soup or salad. There were three choices for soup, and I ordered the one described as "like chicken noodle," which it wasn't anything like at all. It was a very light chicken broth with tomatoes, tender chunks of chicken and tiny round pasta -- and it was delicious. Upon further reflection, at least three of us found the sauce (both the meat and tomato) a little on the sweet side, which isn't our favorite kind of sauce. It was okay and I'd certainly go back there if someone in our party selected it (but might not actually suggest it). For apps we ordered the Bruschetta and Mozzarella "sticks." The latter were logs of cheese, each the size of the giant dill pickles they (used to?/currently) sell in big brine jars at the checkout counter of 7/11 -type establishments. Breaded and gooey, there were five in the order, but could've easily been sampled by a group of 10 or more. The bruschetta was served on the bread they serve at the table in baskets, big thick slices. The tomato mixture was sensational, but the bread was too thick, and therefore not toasted enough for the crispiness a bruschetta needs and deserves. It was not an inexpensive meal, and our bill, I believe was $144 (no one ordered alcohol). With tip, it was $172 for five -- or $34.40 pp. read more
