I've been to Oregano's several times at other locations in the past and this is the worst location. The Big Rig pasta was very watery and did not have any flavor. The calamari was served cold. The Bellini was way too sweet to even finish. The servers were friendly - the only good thing about this place apart from the convenience of the location. Oregano's used to be THE place. It's been going downhill for years, maybe just this location, but I have to say - tonight was the night that ended our family ever eating here again. We threw away 90% of a $100+ order just because the food was so terrible. Kid's chicken tender meal was inedible, sweet potato fries were so soggy they also couldn't be eaten, beef on top of a salad we ordered smelled rancid so that wasn't worth the risk, and the thin crust pizza tasted like Bisquick so there was that. I will say that my husband thought the wings were edible, so that is a positive. Overall? Probably a dying brand. Not worth the price. Too bad as this was an OG establishment. read more

This is a great place! Huge inside you would never know how big the place is until you wander around inside. True Italian large kitchen, knowledgeable, weight, staff, huge menu. Four of us came here for lunch. Two of us were on strict diet due to health, so we had a good menu to look at to satisfy everybody's needs. I have no health issues, but I picked the chicken club with avocado and tomato and it was absolutely fantastic! Sweet potato fries were crunchy the sandwich had great bread and tender chicken breast, very tasty. One of the others had lasagna and it was huge. She ate probably 1/4 of it and took the rest home but very tasty and she had a Caesar salad that was crispy, not wilted just the right amount of salad dressing. One other had the chicken club as I did , and I can't remember the other dish that our waiter was superb, I was drinking some cocktail that was recommended that was quite tasty as well so I had several since I was driving and we were having a leisurely lunch after a long week of work. I called 5 times to place an order and was placed on hold over 10 min each time and then the phone rings to alert them and no one ver picks up. We ordered the oregano salad with chicken and a pepperoni pizza. They forgot the chicken in the salad and the pepperoni on the pizza. The salad was delicious and pizza was good but the fact that both meats were extra and we asked to ha e them added and both of them were missing seems like a big miss on their part. This was only our second time at an Oregano's and we came because we felt the first time wasn't a fair chance. It was a Flagstaff location and they were slammed. This time was much better. We didn't get any bread at the table while we waited (saw that in a Yelp posting and was confused but no nearby tables did either). Kids liked their meals and portions were generous. I also liked that you could get a cheap slice of pizza and everyone can nibble on it. They cut it in many pieces to make it easy for kids to eat, but also shareable for the table. I got an unlimited bowl and obvs got a refill so I could have lunch tomorrow. Favorite two things were garlic bread and the peanut butter chocolate chip pizza cookie. That thing was 10/10. First of all, let me say the food is always good, but a great server changes it from a meal to an experience. Thank you for making our meal a great experience Amy. Our party, at lunch today, ordered a fried zucchini appetizer, a Numero One-O pizza, a Meatball sandwich, and white chocolate macadamia nut pizza cookie. All were delicious. YUM But what really made it great was being seated in Amy's section and her outstanding service. Nothing but smiles and cheerfulness. She acted more as we were her friends than her customers. She had the perfect combination of being unobtrusive, but keeping an eye on us so that she was always there when we were ready for the next phase of the meal, but not hovering. We spoke to the manager (drat, I wish I remembered his name. All I know for sure is that he is a veteran of the Marines) and he further made us feel great about our visit as we discussed his team and how outstanding they all are. I can't say enough about them, but if you go, make sure to ask for Amy. Not much to say about the ambiance as it is what you would expect from traditional Italian/pizza/bar type of place. Seating is comfortable, We sat inside, but they also have a nice outdoor patio. Restaurant is clean (the crew was constantly cleaning when they were not actively working with customers). Came in this past weekend with my whole family. It was pretty busy and we were worried we wouldn't be able to get sat in a timely manner. Although, the Manager Julio? I believe his name was. HUGE shoutout to Pete and this Oregano's! I have been going to Oregano's for as long as I can remember, it has always been nothing but incredible and it is now a place that holds sentimental value since we've celebrated so many exciting life events at here. I called this weekend to buy some pizza dough in order to do a "DIY Pizza Night" with friends. I wasn't sure if they sold their dough, but called and asked because why not? I talked to Pete on the phone and he told me "come on in and he will take care of me". I got to Oregano's and he greeted me with a smile, a handshake, and three huge portions of pizza dough and told me that it was on him and to "not worry about it, just have fun tonight". It is because of people like Pete that I still believe there are good people in this world and that the magic of Oregano's is alive and well. This was my second time here. We had guests in town with a small child and we knew this place would be kid friendly. We had an amazing time, from the friendly waitstaff to the food. We all really enjoyed our meals starting with some awesome appetizers, the Calamari, wings with the rub of choice and Boom Dip ( my personal favorite). I have to recommend the El Diablo Shrimp Pasta, this dish has delicious flavor and the right amount of kick. Really bad food, worse service. Won't return. We went there today... ordered a margarita pizza and a chicken sandwich with a side and order of fries. Food arrived, driest most leathery pizza while it also felt like it was under cooked. He gave us the fries with nothing - no ketchup or even an offer for it and hurried back away to clean his bar... The waiter that was working did not even offer a water refill... and was very busy cleaning the bar. We walked over to find a jug of water in a counter and refilled ourselves. One leathery pizza that was we did not eat ... one fries so dry and cold... the sandwich was good - for $40 We will not return to any of the oregano's again. I love this restaurant. I enjoy the pizza and the pasta is great. Pine top ravioli is scrumptious. Garlic bread is THE BEST. At lunch, they do not like solo people to request a table. They much prefer a 'one' to not occupy a table. I was asked FOUR times if I wanted the bar for seating. A table would be great was my reply each time and the last time I got the side eye after my reply.... Really?!?! I can wait if you don't want to seat me, or you can give the the option, 'bar is open right now but a table will be 10 minutes' and let Me decide.... First off, we were walking to to the entrance where Asher opened the door for us very kind, friendly and with a great smile. He took us to our table where Dillon waited on us. He was very polite and friendly and smiled as well. Both Dillion and Asher were attentive and prompt with everything. Asher was right there as well with his promptness. My wife asked for a gluten free menu and brought it over right away, then after we had offered from Dillon, which he gave us a couple of different options, Asher brought over a fortune cookie for me and then remembered that my wife was gluten free and brought her mint candies instead. And was very humorous about it which was great and made us laugh. When I mean attentive, neither of us could finish our meal and we were talking to Dillon about to go boxes, Asher was no where near us that we saw, but somehow knew what we were requesting from Dillion and brought us over a to go box after Dillion left to grab them. Your pizza will, in fact, fall to the floor when the weight goes to one side and your servers and managers will say "well, that happens." Or, "yea." Which will surely make you upset because that's your hard earned money that they just so carelessly waisted. Your hard earned money is nothing to these people. I've admittedly reminisced about the delicious pizza cookie at Oreganos for years but I have not been back to an Oreganos since. I remember Oreganos being like an Olive Garden on steroids. When I recently had a thin crust cheese pizza it reminded me of the pizza that I used to eat at first grade birthday parties. I was genuinely disappointed at let down. A few friends from out of town decided to have dinner at Oregano's in the Sonoran Village which is off the 101 and Frank Lloyd Wright. I have to say every time my buddy is in town, he has to have at least one meal at an Oregano's and finish the meal with their famous Pizza Cookie. This all started when we had a business in Tempe in the early 2000's and ate at the Oregano's on University probably every other day. Fast forward 20 some years and perhaps 100+ meals later, we had a very unpleasant experience at this location tonight. Our party made a pre-reservation on their website for dinner, party of 4, at 7:30. 3 of the 4, arrived a bit early and told the Host (tall, brown haired male) that they were going to wait at the bar until the 4th showed up. (I was the late one). I finally arrived around 7:40 and found my friends at the bar. After exchanging pleasantries and noticing the restaurant wasn't super busy, I asked how long it would be to get our table. My friend went to the host desk and was "greeted" by one of the two male hosts. He wasn't aware of the situation with our table, so he summoned the taller host to assist. The taller host proceeded to tell my friend that he was sure my friend said that we would be at the bar and not need a table, so he basically didn't reserve a table for us. As you can imagine, the conversation went a bit sideways, with the host arguing what he thought he heard and my friend saying, that wasn't the case. It went ridiculously long when our other friend felt the need to chime in as well. I'm not sure what happened to the customer is always right, but seriously, what was the point of having an argument when there were several tables that were available. How about, "I'm sorry for the misunderstanding. We can seat you now", but I guess testosterone ruled the day. Eventually, we were seated with lots of attitude from the other host. I swear, I was given the stink eye. If that wasn't bad enough, our waitress, Lindsey, seemed like she was having a bad day. She greeted us and asked what we were drinking. We ordered one alcoholic beverage, two waters and a club soda. She didn't seem happy that we weren't going to ring up the tab with alcohol. She dropped the drinks off, took our order for appetizers, and then our main meal. One of the friends asked if she could split the pasta dish. Well, I guess they don't do that either. She offered to bring an extra bowl. Again, probably thinking the tab would not justify her time waiting on us. Maybe she overheard us arguing with the Hosts, can't say for sure, but seriously, I kid you not, every time she left our table, we commented that she hated us. When we were almost finished, we ordered two Pizza cookies and received our check. One friend wanted to pay the entire bill and the other wanted to split it. He chased down Lindsey to give her his card when she commented "I'm not going to get in the middle of you guys fighting to pay the bill. I'm going to leave the bill for you to figure it out". I'm paraphrasing but it was close enough, and again, with lots of attitude. Seriously, both Lindsey and the hosts should seek other employment where interacting with customers isn't part of the job description. Lastly, I need to comment about the food. Please note that we love Oregano's. Probably spent 10's of thousands of dollars over 20+ years and even with this bad experience, will still eat here when they visit again. So it brings me no joy in saying the food was also disappointing. We ordered two appetizers, the fried Zucchini and a BBQ chicken pizza. The Zucchini was very good and the pizza was just average. My buddy split the Big Rig with chicken and I had the Alfredo the Dark with a meatball and sausage link. The Big Rig was awful. The pasta was overcooked and the Chipotle Cream sauce wasn't very flavorful. Maybe it was because the pasta was kind of dry or the sauce needed more seasoning, but it wasn't good. We always order the Big Rig, so this was extra disappointing. I tried the Alfredo the Dark and I was pleasantly surprised. It definitely could have used more sauce, but at that point in the evening, I was afraid to engage Lindsey. The meatball and sausage link was very good. In summary, I've noticed a lot of Oreganos opening up across the valley. There's even one opening up near Happy Valley and I-17, where I live. I was super excited to welcome them to our neighborhood, but now, not so sure. Owners and Managers, please provide better training and don't expand unless you are committed to delivering a quality product with great service. Quick Update: Tom Heinicke, the GM of this location, reached out to me to discuss our experience. I would say Tom gets it and understands the core of every great dining experience begins with service. I'm looking forward to coming back to see if they've improved. Stay tuned. read more

We have been going to oreganos for over 20 years and something changed recently . They changed their ovens. Horrible. Why would you wreck your pizza like that. We ordered the deep dish first and when it came there was Noway you could cut into the crust. It was burnt. So they switched it to make us a thin crust. That was even worse. It was black on the bottom. You felt like you were eating the box. Just terrible. Will never go there again. It's to bad because they didn't know they had a good thing going and niw people will not go anymore. read more
