An outstanding dining experience for a perfectly planned Mother's Day. From start to finish the service was attentive and seamless, food was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the decor created a warm, elegant atmosphere. The creative cocktails were a standout-unique, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch. Orsay is the perfect spot for a memorable night out.

My wife and I had dinner last night at Orsay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had an early reservation (5:15) in the Park Street dining room which is adjacent to the kitchen. It was a little noisier than the main dining room, but I enjoyed being able to see & hear the kitchen operating efficiently. We were greeted warmly and wished a happy anniversary by both the hostess and our excellent server Tony who presented us with complementary white wine as yet another warm anniversary greeting. I don't drink, but that just meant more for my lovely bride. We decided to splurge a little and ordered the Wellington (which requires a minimum 24 hour notice). Tony was very informative and explained the process for the preparation and gave us the opportunity to map out our meal. My wife started with the French onion soup which is excellent as always. I wanted to save room for the main event of the evening. Finally it was showtime. A server brought the Wellington to the table whole to give folks (like me) the chance to take a photo before it goes back to the kitchen to be sliced. The Wellington is MASSIVE which is why it's suggested for 2-4 people. The steak is cooked beautifully, the pastry is delicious, the filling was amazing, and the jus gave it a real punch that set it off and brought everything into sharp focus. We had pommes frites and Brussels sprouts as sides. Definitely ordered too much food (no regrets). Frites are always tasty, but the sprouts are next level. Roasted with bacon lardon & pearl onions. Absolutely delicious. For dessert we were torn. My wife wanted the vanilla crème brûlée, but was very intrigued by the mini key lime crème brûlée. Tony, being a real mensch, gave her the mini on the house so she could try both. I went with the banana cake which was incredibly disappointing - firm, dry cake, think & gummy ganache. And this is where my only criticism of the evening comes in. Apparently the banana cake is a vegan dessert despite that not being indicated anywhere on the menu. If I had known that it was vegan, I would not have ordered it. I expressed my disappointment and our server had the cake taken off our bill. Again, shouts to Tony, stand-up dude. That wasn't enough to take the shine off a delicious meal and a delightful evening. We have been several times and will be back. Hopefully by then they can figure out that whole vegan dessert transparency thing.

This place did not disappoint! We had oysters to start. The lobster pot pie for our main meal and the dessert tower to end a perfect dinner. Be sure to get reservations as you're gonna need it. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite places to dine,came here for an anniversary and on New Years Eve,Always great drinks and delicious food. Dim lightening for a more romantic feel. Upscale service we were seated immediately with reservation and my server was prompt and made modifications very easy. The prices are fare but not too expensive and won't break the bank. Parking not the best if it's a busy night, but uber is always a good option

I had takeout and it was pretty good, a very nice flavor, not overwhelming, a little less beef than I would prefer but the sauce was decadent and the provided bread (though on the harder side - I know some people prefer it that way), really soaked it up when I used the bread for dipping! During a work trip to Jacksonville, I had this place on my radar from a Yelp friend recommending who is in Orlando - thanks Ronnald M! After visiting and discussing with local coworkers, they all raved about this place and I can see why it's loved by locals. Heck, even Yelpers I spoke with in the area loved this place too. Both beautiful in decor and seating, and in the food and beverages served. My coworker and I went on a Saturday early evening with no reservation, and were seated within 5-10 minutes which was great. We were there in time to make the last few moments of Saturday Cocktail Hour (11am - 6pm), so I had to have a dirty vodka martini since they had blue cheese stuffed olives. Be rude not to! Same with enjoying some fresh bread and butter they bring you to start the meal. For food, we splurged on various items and I had a non-vegetarian meal to treat myself (try to avoid meat for health reasons). For starters, I had the Black Truffle Mac N Cheese and Duck Wings while my coworker had the French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. I haven't had Duck since going vegetarian for the first time at 16 years old so it was definitely an experience! I found it to be a darker meat with a more gamey flavor than chicken. Interesting, but not sure I'd have every day or even yearly as a treat. As for the black truffle Mac n Cheese? I could and would easily eat that every day if calories and distance to this location were not obstacles! My coworker also raved about her two items, and would return in a heartbeat! For entrees, we enjoyed beef stroganoff and vegetable shepherds pie. Both rich and decadent. Loved the recommendation to try both from our amazing server - Ayla. Every dish meeting the mark just when you thought this location couldn't top the last item! Which leads me to dessert, which elevated this location to easily one of my top meals in 2025 and you know I dine out a lot! Bread Pudding Du Jour: Baked to Order, our bread pudding is encrusted with Demerara sugar, served hot with a scoop of our house-made ice cream. Madagascar Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée: Vanilla Bean chantilly, baked meringue, fresh berries To say we were in heaven was an absolute understatement. The desserts were divine and paired lovely with a pot of earl grey tea split between us. My first time trying Serendipitea brand and found to be quite lovely. What a way to finish the meal and truly remarkable to have every item served with perfection and presented gorgeously. Hands down, one of my best dining experiences in 2025. If you are in Jacksonville, Florida then you need to come check out Orsay!

We were here for brunch. Hubby was disappointed that the menu only had vegetarian Shepherd's Pie. When we mentioned it, server, or better, hospitality professional, Ayla, said the chef could make it but Carl already had changed his mind with his heart now set on the shrimp and grits. The music was fantastic, yet we could still easily converse. Coincidentally the executive chef was in today, which was kind of exciting to me as a die hard foodie. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a Cucumber Mule. Both were excellent. I've never had a more unique version that was still true to the drink. The bread was outstanding. Warm, fresh, soft with a perfect crunchy crust. The butter was so flavorful! We wondered if they made it and if not, I want to know where I can buy it. I'm not a preserves person but Carl loved it. I'm not sure what flavor it was. For app we shared the escargot. The entire dish was so delicate. Soft, buttery escargot, garlicky sauce with depth, served in a perfect vol au vent. I had the Beef Stroganoff. The beef was melt in your mouth. The pappardelle pasta was fresh and al dente. The mushrooms were fresh and so tasty! The portion was much bigger than the picture implies. Carl had shrimp and grits. Easily the best he's ever had. I tasted the grits. They were velvety, cheesy, and buttery. I have NEVER had grits like this. The Cajun sauce was spicy but not overpowering. Shrimp were perfectly cooked. I want to say it's the best meal we've ever had. Including New York and Vegas. Ayla has the best laugh and was spot on with every detail. She was kind enough to laugh at all our jokes. We crack ourselves up. When you go, ask for Ayla as your hospitality professional. We are going back in a couple weeks.

On the morning of Mother's Day, I wanted to see if by chance I could get a reservation for a solo brunch before my other activities for the day. I tried Orsay because I've been once but have always wanted to try them again. I fortunately did get a reservation for one! When I arrived, they were very busy (to be expected on Mother's Day), but I was greeted right away. As she was telling me my table would be ready shortly, I saw an empty seat at the bar and asked if I could sit there instead. She confirmed I could so I had my brunch bar too with a great bar staff and other patrons enjoying the day. I ordered the Hey Jealously drink, which is gin based. It was a nice balanced drink, not too sweet and so refreshing! To eat I ordered Eden Farms Berkshire Pork chop but requested my egg fried hard vs. sunny side up. It was so good! The batter on the pork chop was very well seasoned as was the pork chop itself. It was also a nice size. The warm potatoes and arugula salad were also super good. I wasn't sure what to expect for a potato and arugula salad and found them to complement each other very well. I expected there to be an understandable longer wait, considering the day and how busy they were. However they were very efficient and my meal came much quicker than expected, fresh and hot. The bar staff were very attentive as they served everyone at the bar and took and made drink orders from the restaurant. It was a great experience and allowed me to start my Mother's Day off very well.

Orsay has been a longtime favorite of mine, and brunch here is always a win. We came for a birthday celebration this time, and they struck the perfect balance; acknowledging the occasion with a candle and macaron (classy) instead of a group sing-along (merciful). The bourbon orange French toast deserves its own standing ovation. The bread? Absolute perfection! Crispy outside, soft inside, and not a hint of sogginess. The orange flavor is front and center (orange is definitely the star here), but it plays nicely with everything else. And you can skip the butter (although it's delicious in its own right). The crème fraîche is all you need. I balanced it with bacon (gotta have the salty with the sweet) and it was perfectly crisp and tasty. I usually spring for a brunch cocktail, but I went the caffeine route this time with an iced latte made with Bold Bean coffee. Smooth and satisfying. That said, I couldn't resist sampling around the table: the Corpse Reviver #2 (bright, lemony, not cloyingly sweet), the red sangria (my future go-to). Food wise I sampled eggs à la Orsay (hello, truffle), and onion soup (closest to being in France I've found for this!). Oh, and beef stroganoff and west coast oysters made their way to the table too...both solid choices. For dessert, the toasted coconut macaron reminded me why theirs are always a treat. From start to finish, Orsay nails the experience every time: delicious food, attentive staff, and an ambiance that manages to feel both lively and intimate. Whether you're celebrating something special or just celebrating the fact that it's Sunday, it's always worth a visit.

The service was great, the food was even better, but it is a tiny bit loud in there. I wish I had room to try more items, but what we did try was outstanding- lobster pot pie, beef stroganoff and pierogis. When booking a reservation, make sure you don't book the one in New York. Haven't been to Orsay in a while and I love their lunch/ brunch menu. The staff there were amazing and made my visit a little extra special as I celebrated my birthday. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my husband ordered the steak and eggs, paired with an espresso martini and red wine. I quite enjoyed everything we ordered and can't wait to go back.

It was busy -- in the best way -- with that lively weekend energy that makes the place feel warm and buzzing. We sat outside, which was perfect for brunch and only offered on the weekends, and the whole setup felt relaxed and stylish without trying too hard. The food was delicious, classic French with a fresh twist, and everything came out beautifully prepared. The service was genuinely great -- attentive, friendly, and on top of things even with the crowd. It made the whole experience feel effortless. Orsay is the kind of spot you look forward to returning to, whether for a slow brunch or a cozy dinner. It's a true Avondale gem.

I was delighted when my friend suggested brunch at Orsay. It had been some time since my last visit, and it is undoubtedly a restaurant I always long to revisit. This is not only due to the exceptional quality of the cuisine but also the outstanding service. We enjoyed our brunch with a shared brunch plateau which offers biscuits and gravy, cheesy grits and they're delicious bacon or you can have ham and a couple of eggs..accompanied before hand with their assortment of their daily selection of fresh pastries. We also ordered a Jambon Omelette and concluded with macarons for dessert. Every aspect of the experience was exceptional, particularly sharing tbe experience with friends.

Stopped in for late brunch today. Saturday's happy hour and brunch menus both available in aft. Had a couple glasses of a nice cote de Rhône wine at half price and we also tried the Bait and Switch beer which had a coffee taste but otherwise very light. Really enjoyed that. Started with 2 orders of their roasted oysters as they are 3 to an order for happy hour. They were very good, as usual, and mostly a decent size. Then tried their new burger au poivre. I may have a new favorite dish. The burger perfectly cooked ok brioche bun, with gruyère cheese and shallots. But the au poivre sauce so put it over the top - so yummy. Second entree was the duck confit hash - my usual go to. Delicious as always. The sauce on it also puts it totally over the top. Hadn't been in a while but will definitely put them back in our rotation. Also at 1:30 the restaurant and bar were relatively slow so no problem getting in. Our bartender Julian was excellent. Offered us a taste of any of their beers. They were out of the wit beer I would normally have tried. But we noticed the Bait and Switch. After trying it, had a definite coffee flavor, ordered one. He also did a great job with our leftovers, making sure we had extra au poivre sauce and condiments for our frites and separating the hash and burger. Appreciated his attention to detail. Great service definitely makes a difference. read more

Orsay is a staple not only in the Avondale area but in Jacksonville overall. Focusing on French cuisine, their menu brings great options from starters all the way to desserts. I have been to Orsay countless times for a variety of events, but I will say some of my favorite experiences here are during brunch. Their brunch menu is packed full of delicious options, some of my favorites are the steak frites, biscuit & gravy, and the omelette. There is something for everyone on their brunch menu. Their bar staff also creates perfect cocktails, I love ordering a French 75 from Orsay. During my latest visit for brunch, my server Lauren, did a fantastic job waiting our table and providing a multi-course experience. We started with starters and ended with a variety of amazing desserts. I can't get enough of their macarons and truffles. The dessert menu changes, so I love that there are re new and returning flavors/options each time, providing a whole new experience with your visit. The restaurant is very clean and modern. It makes for a great dining experience for any event whether casual, special occasion, date night, etc. There is no dress code here but I would say patrons typically dress up a bit more when dining here to get the full upscale experience. I love Orsay and it is definitely a must visit for anyone who has never been! read more

We had great service here with Griffin. His recommendations were spot on. We started with half off oysters, gulf coast and we enjoyed them almost as much as west coast oysters. The baguette with butter was nothing special. I got the blood orange cocktail and it was delicious and not too sweet: my husband got the French mistake. We were also created with champagne to celebrate our anniversary. Griffin recommended the duck breast and they let me sub lentils for truffle mashed potatoes. It was delicious including the sauces and it was cooked just right. My husband got the pork that was recommended and it was delicious as well. We got the pbj dessert and it was good but not something I'd have to get again. We will definitely be back. We have other dishes that we want to try. read more

I've been to Orsay maybe 5 times. This was my least favorite. But the service was great, the drinks were great too. I actually didn't really like my entree today. The lobster Mac and cheese was delicious as always!! Will come back for the beef stroganoff, that's my favorite! read more

Came here for our anniversary. The ambiance was very nice, very grown up and chill. We got a complimentary glass of champagne for our anniversary. They drinks were very good. They were very tedious when it came to making sure the food was prepared properly being that my husband has a shellfish allergy. Orsay is just a whole *mood*. Come for happy hour, brunch, dinner, whatever. It's upscale but not stuffy or unwelcoming. A chill vibe. GREAT menu. TASTY drinks. SUPER service. The last time I came in, I made a reservation to bring my parents for brunch. A little birthday celebration - this was the best spot for it. My mom and I had espresso martinis with reposado (omg so good) and my dad had a Bloody Mary -- with the tincture from the kitchen to make it extra spicy. The potato leek soup was breathtaking - so silky and velvety and the flavors they developed were outstanding. Pommes Frites are a must and we devoured them. Tomato tartare: PERFECTION. This will definitely be our date night go to. Orsay has been on our "must visit" yelp spots. I thought I would surprise my wife with a date night and we weren't disappointed. Caden, our server was top notch! He took the time to share his favorites at the restaurant. We started our meal with the oysters rockefeller which were devine. They had the perfect amount of saltiness from the bacon and cheese to accompany the garlic. My wife ordered scallops and risotto and I was torn between the lobster mac and cheese and risotto. Caden entertained my request asking the chef if I could have meal size portion of risotto instead of scallops. Surprisingly enough, the chef said yes, even during the busiest night of the week. I decided to "sample" my wife's mushroom risotto and order a side of lobster mac and cheese. We ended dinner with a creme brulee that was so smooth and velvety. The only issue is a common theme in Jacksonville, parking is terrible. I can't wait to go back again. read more

We have lived in the area for a few years now and constantly passed by the restaurant and chatted about going for a meal. Last night was our first experience and it will for sure now be a family tradition to visit regularly. We were seated at a lovely table in a corner so it was a nice and cozy setting for our party to catch up and enjoy the evening. We ordered a large charcuterie board for our appetizer and there was more than enough for our party. The entrees were very special and I couldn't believe how well everything on the plate paired. Celebrated my birthday here. Ordered the Lobster Mac and cheese again and it did not disappoint. Had their house red wine to share which was pretty good. We shared the tomato tartar and duck fat French fries (amazing!!) as well. Had the Cesar salad as a main but that dish wasn't that flavorful. Glad I had the Mac and cheese, which was the star. Service was attentive as usual. Definitely a go-to for good service and food! read more

Just moved to the top of my local favorites. We started with the muscles and an Orsay salad; both were delightful. Main course was the Boeuf Wellington (which requires 24 hours notice) and it was fantastic, beautifully made, savory flavor in every bite! We ended with the apple frangipani and it was so good! I have been wanting to go to an upscale restaurant for a while. My best friend was in town for Christmas and we decided to go to Orsay. There were two options for seating to choose from when making the reservation: one was said to be more lively and the other was more subdued - perfect for those who want to have pleasant conversations while enjoying their meal. Finding a place to park was a bit challenging, so plan accordingly. They gave us bread to start the meal, but it was too tough to eat. My best friend and I shared two happy hour appetizers: roasted oysters and escargot. I have always wanted to try escargot, so I was excited to finally have my chance. The escargot was cooked in a sauce with mushrooms and placed in a miniature filo dough - akin to a pot pie - with the top opened and placed on the side. It was difficult knowing what was mushroom and what was escargot. The taste was not bad - I appreciated the slight crisp of the filo dough and the creaminess of the sauce combined with the escargot. It was a nice experience, but a repeat may not be in my future as the snails themselves did not have much flavor. The roasted oysters were definitely a hit! The bestie and I really enjoyed those. For our main meal, we both had the rack of lamb and vegetables. The presentation of the food was definitely reminiscent of fine dining I have seen on various cooking shows. The taste of the lamb paired with the vegetables and sauce was absolutely delicious. We also ordered drinks which were delicious as well. The server was very friendly. This is an upscale place, so the check was pretty steep - expect to spend around $100 or more, not including tip. I will definitely be returning for another upscale experience. read more

Orsay is French cuisine at its finest. We have been here several times. If you want extremely good service and food that makes you drool then this is it. There are two areas to eat in and we pick the oldest part of the restaurant. It's so romantic and cozy at the same time. My husband always gets the Steak Frites and I always get the Lobster Pot Pie. We usually get a couple of appetizers each time as well. A must is the Lobster Mac n Cheese. The desserts change at times. We also tend to get a third entree to split to try new things. Friday night dinner. Called for reservations that same day and we were offered the Patio, because nothing else was available. I didn't like the experience outside, but in part it was my fault for making a late reservation; inside looked so much better and classier. As for the food goes, the steak tartar was delicious and paired great with the crunchy bread. I had high expectations about the onion soup, but it ended up being way too salty. Pro bar staff and enticing cocktails make the bar a best bet before dinner. Salad was tasty but gritty. Octopus was excellent! Cassoulet was good, not great. Ratio of beans to meat was off. Love the ambiance so having a conversation is not an issue even with music playing. read more

5 SHINING STARS FOR ORSAY! I feel like its been a while since I've seen such an in-depth and great happy hour, so I'm ecstatic that Rachel T brought me here while I was in town. French cuisine at its finest, you can try an array of foods just off the happy hour menu. Walking in, I thought it was just the one room- super intimate with tables and a bar area. To our surprise, there was a whole other room, which had even more tables and another bar section. The setting had romantic, low lighting and great ambiance for a date night. Lively but not too loud where you can't hold a great conversation. Their happy hour specials are from 4-7pm & 10pm-12am. From 1/2 off oysters to $8-$10 small plates, you'll have trouble choosing what you want. We decided to go big instead of go home, so we got: a dozen oysters, potato croquettes, sea scallop tartare, the roasted mushrooms tarte flambée, bouillabaisse, and lobster mac. For drinks, Rachel got some wine since it was 1/2 off and I tried their Czech Please which was a cocktail with Camarena tequila, Orchard Apricot, Becherovka, lemon juice, & orange blossom water. My fav of the dishes were the roasted mushroom tarte flambee & the lobster mac. The tarte flambee was basically a flatbread but had so much flavor and I can't ever say no to mushrooms. The lobster mac was probably one of the best I've ever had with cavatappi, roasted lobster reduction, and fine herbs. The Czech Please cocktail was super refreshing and everything I'd want in a drink. I definitely recommend if you want something refreshing and love tequila. If you know me, you know I live by, "there's always room for dessert" so of course we had to look at the dessert menu. They had a wonderful selection and I was lucky enough to try some of Pastry Chef Rebecca Reed's creations since I heard she was leaving soon. We had the house made ice cream with their specialty flavor (Rachel described it perfectly as an almond joy), the petite creme brulee and the pistachio white chocolate shells. Everything was... *chef's kiss*! The service was awesome, from the minute we walked in to the moment we walked out. We lucked out with a reservation on a Friday evening and our server was super attentive and readily answered any questions we had. So excited to come back again next time I'm in town! read more

The food was great and the staff were excellent but my oh my what's up with some of the customers? It's like they think they are the only ones who deserve to be there. One couple sat at the table next to us and asked to be moved. Personally I thought they had a bad smell under their nose. But rather than tell the staff that they were obnoxious and ruin our anniversary I thought to heck with them. I hope the sun keeps shining for them. I think to make it up to us a bit the staff were extra nice to us and as I said the food was fine. Served very tastefully and the staff actually took us to a nice spot to have a photo of us taken to remember our visit. My wife loves anything French and I would recommend the restaurant and the staff. read more

We had dinner tonight at this restaurant for my husband's birthday. We were a little late due to heavy traffic but all of the staff were very accommodating and friendly. The restaurant has indoor, outdoor, and bar seating. The menu has plenty of appetizers, soups, and salads. We started with the French onion soup and it was very good. For entrees, we had the steak frittes, mussels with frittes, and rack of lamb. All of the portions were plentiful. We had the creme Brule for dessert, along with a complimentary macaroon with a candle in it. It was a nice touch. read more

My husband and I celebrated my birthday and our 1 year anniversary here this past weekend and we had a wonderful experience! We sat outside since they were so busy but the service and the food were soooo good that we didn't even care that it was raining. Our server brought us champagne on the house, told us about house specials, and made sure we had everything we needed when we needed it. I got the pan roasted duck and my husband got the lamb chops and we honestly couldn't have picked better options! I hope we get to visit again one day because this was the best experience we've had in a while! read more

I am new to the Riverside/Avondale area and I am trying many of the restaurants and bars in the neighborhood. This place is amazing. The quality of the food is top notch, service impeccable and prices are not too bad considering the higher end type of restaurant that this is. Ordered the pate to start, Rack of Lamb as the entre- both excellent. Not a huge dessert guy, but had this coconut, taro root ice cream that has to be one of the best things I have had in years. Go early to take advantage of Happy Hour and the possibility of getting a seat. read more

I've been told on several occasions this is one of the top spots in Jax, so have been wanting to come for a while. It has an interesting vibe: dining hall, meets, chill, with an air of fancy? We started with the table bread and wine. Bread was pretty good, so was the wine. I ordered the filet and my friend ordered the lobster pot pie. The filet was great, brussel sprouts were good, mashed potatoes were not very good. The lobster pot pie was not good at all. I will say the amount of lobster was solid, but the flavors, the breading, and the gravy were just all off. With the entrees and the wine, the check was ~$130. I don't feel the taste or the amount of food we got warranted that amount. Considering the other reviews, I may have just come on a bad night. I might come back at some point, but for this review, minus a star for mediocre fare and minus a star for total bill. read more

This is, far and away, my favorite restaurant in Jacksonville. I've visited hundreds of times, and when visitors come in from out of town, I bring them here. I'm sort of amazed that I haven't previously left a review. The food is consistently great, and the staff are always friendly and attentive. I've enjoyed sitting outside at the tables they have there, indoors at a regular table, and when dining solo, the bar staff have done a great job of recommending pairings for what I've ordered. Not cheap, but you get what you pay for. read more

We went here for our anniversary dinner and it was a great experience. The service was amazing and they provided us with a complimentary glass of champagne when we arrived. My husband had ordered the beef Wellington in advance so we already knew what we were having, we added a cream spinach and fries side and had a roasted oyster appetizer. I would have given a 5 star review but everything was slightly over-salted, it could have been the prosciutto in the Wellington , but the spinach was extra salty also. and I tend to like salty foods. I would go back in a heartbeat, but probably order something else. read more

Amazing restaurant in Jacksonville! Made a reservation for an anniversary on a Thursday evening. Not busy at all, so no reservation needed at that time. Parking is in a small lot nearby and it might get busy over the weekends so keep in mind that you might be looking for street parking. The restaurant itself is a bit small but so tastefully designed. I loved all the neutral, warm, cozy decor. Felt very high class and deluxe. Our server (Griffin) was awesome - very attentive and prompt with cleaning silverware and refilling glasses. He was great and really added to the experience! The service began with complimentary glasses of champagne for our anniversary - so so special and unexpected! Since we went during Cocktail Hour (4-7pm daily), they had good deals on drinks ($10 cocktails). We ordered the French Pear (quite sweet and really yummy) and the Blood Orange (good but quite tart). They also have some good deals on food during the Cocktail Hour - we tried the small Lobster Mac and Cheese ($14) and wowwwwww! Big chunks of lobster, gooey cheese, great flavor...amazing! For dinner, I had the Pan Roasted Fish ($42, today it was Red Snapper) - super yummy! My boyfriend and I both really loved it. I especially loved the freshness of the salad and the corn with the fish. My boyfriend had the Pan Roasted Duck Breast ($42) and it was really good too! I loved the skin crispness and flavor with the tender inside. We were stuffed so we opted for no dessert but they had a wide variety. Overall, I love love love Orsay! It was my first time visiting this restaurant although I've been hearing about it from friends for years. I came for brunch to celebrate my birthday and I was very pleased with all the options offered to vegans/vegetarians. I ordered the pasta primavera and I really enjoyed it. I also got the potato and leek soup. My husband ordered the shrimp and grits. The food was very good and our server was very friendly and attentive. Walked in and sat at the bar due to not being able to make it to our reservation at another nearby restaurant that was flooded out after a deluge. Felt like we were traveling in Europe and just popped in to a local establishment for nosh, drink and respite from the storm. Excellent service and dining experience. Looking forward to coming back and having a proper sit down affair. The red snapper special was seared and crispy with a nice combination of romesco and a basil/mint sauce. The skin on the snapper was delicious. Also had the PEI mussels and frites. Man, that was a lot of fries. The mayo was amazing. Schlumberger pinot gris was great. Also the house Moulin de Gassac rose was delicious. The only rose on the list. The cocktails looked great but we were driving so we didn't imbibe. Will be back when we are able to partake. read more

This restaurant EXCEEDED my expectations. I called American Express Concierge to help me get same night reservations at 9:30pm. I was told the kitchen closes at 10pm. So the agent called the restaurant on my behalf. We arrived at 9:57pm and were the only guests. Our waiter, Chris, was exceptionally attentive to us and our requests. Let me start with the fact that the kitchen stayed open late for us! The food was amazing! I ordered the following: - Lobster Mac - It had huge chunks of lobster and was creamy/cheesy - Bread platter - the baguette was fresh and the butter was so smooth. The butter tasted like it was creamed on a Danish farm. -Pan roasted fish - very delicious - Crème Brûlée - I was initially told the list of desserts that were available. So I decided to pass on dessert because I'd only wanted the crème brûlée and it wasn't in the list. To my surprise, when we boxed up our meal, the waiter included the this! I devoured this when I got back to my hotel. This is the second best version I've ever had. Chris even brought out a fresh baguette with containers of butter for us to take away because I loved the bread. Listen, this restaurant is officially a must visit for me whenever I'm in Jacksonville. The decor is understated, but tasteful. There is an outside patio that will be perfect for happy hour. The restroom was clean. They even had a stash of feminine products for life's emergencies. Our entire evening was perfect. This is the level of service that more restaurants should emulate. How have I not left a review for Orsay? Apologies as you have always been one of my faves locally. I've never had a bad meal and I always have incredible service. Things you must order -- Escargot. The last time I had it, it was in shell. For brunch, it was on toasted bread (baguette or ciabatta?) served with cress, mushrooms, lemon, garlic and butter. Oooof. The way the flavors dance around in your mouth...I dream about it. Dessert -- they are always serving something unique and crafted with top quality ingredients. The pistachio dacquoise was something special. Was my first time for brunch and everyone enjoyed their eats. I had the the omelette which was delish too and huge. Dinner is always fantastic -- the duck, cassoulet and boullabaise, and of course, lobster Mac are all fine choices. If you've never been, highly suggest. read more

Had a reservation for dinner but we showed up early for happy hour. Was really disappointed at first by the bar trader who was extremely short and unhelpful. Handed us menus (rudely) and walked away.... Thankfully as we were standing near the bar another employee spoke with ya and handed us the happy hour menu and provided us with some great recommendations. We ordered the French pear and Jealous drink and calamari app. Our table was ready early, our server forgot to put in our food early so they ended up bringing that to our table and comped it. They ended up not having much flavor thou. The scallops were absolutely amazing !!! Servers were top notch too. read more

We came to Orsay for brunch and loved every minute! From the moment we walked in, we were hooked. The hostess had the best personality and the server was just as pleasant and knowledgeable about the menu. She kept ordering coming and suggested a tincture made in the kitchen. to spice up our Bloody Mary's. Amazing!! The potato leek soup was silky and full of flavor. We love the Pommes Frites and everyone at our table fought over them. A spinach salad is always a hot but the dressing put it over the top. The tomato tartare may as well have been tuna. It was prepared with the same finesse, and had the best freshest tomatoes. What a cute trendy restaurant that hits all the right notes! read more

We got into town kind of late on a Friday night and were looking for a good local restaurant to grab a bite to eat. My boujee cravings were in full swing even though it was 10 o'clock at night, so I was thrilled to see that Orsay was open late with their delicious French cuisine being so highly rated on Yelp. I was even more ecstatic when I got there and discovered that they have a late Night Cap menu from 10pm-12am featuring discounted cocktails, wine, small plates, and entrees! They were still pretty busy at this time, but we were able to score 2 seats at the bar. I got a glass of sparkling cava and we decided to share some plates: Escargot, Onion Soup, Black Truffle Mac N' Cheese, and the Mussels Frites (white wine, garlic, butter, thyme, house made pommes frites). The escargots were mixed with mushrooms, garlic, lemon and butter -- just the way I like them. And that has to be one of the best onion soups I've ever had with the perfect amount of broiled gruyere on top. The truffle mac was super creamy and delicious. The star of the show were the biggest PEI mussels I've ever seen! I love when restaurants serve fries with mussels to dip in the white wine garlic sauce... heavenly. The portion sizes of everything were very generous and I definitely ordered way too much food, but no regrets because they made for some good leftovers the next day. The bartender was really cool and he said that we chose the best restaurant in Jax as our first meal of the trip. He might be biased (lol), but I have to say that we were super impressed! read more

Lauren was the perfect server! It was our first time visiting and we were so excited. She never made us feel rushed and we felt celebrated the entire time. They started us off with a pitcher of water and glasses of complimentary champagne for our anniversary. We started with the escargot, which was good, but not my favorite I've ever had. The bread and butter was yummy too! My hubby got the "cereal killer" drink and I had the pear jalapeño margarita. They were both divine! While in line I was greeted by the owner Ian. He was so friendly and charismatic. He sat me down as I waited for my husband and kid to join and handed me a nice hot coffee which was soooooo good! The restaurant is decorated with all vintage art work and hand drawn art work from patrons. As well as different signs with funny phrases. My favorite was sign said " If you are grouchy, irritable or just plain mean, there will be a $10 charge for putting up with you". Hahah I read it to my son because he tried to get mad about his dad taking forever to get the tablet out the car lol. Now back to the food! I had the French toast, with eggs over medium, turkey sausage and fruit. Everything was so good! I also caught a glimpse of their biscuits and I will definitely be back to try them. Besides the excellent service there I like that my Togo items were in a bag that said "Eat Local, Eat Often". I try to buy local as much but more importantly I love being able to support a local business as well as something that is a staple in the community. I was looking for a fine dining restaurant in which to celebrate a special occasion. In the category of "French Dining" the word "restaurant" implies a certain level of elegance and sophistication. The menu of the Orsay certainly promises restaurant level cuisine but they do have the tagline "Elegance without pretension" Okay. The bar area looks like a college dorm day room with low couches and chairs and lots of noisy ,happy people enjoying a very happy hour. The dining room is hard surfaced all round ( no tablecloths) and quite noisy. The menu is extensive and the wine list is impressive. Our food was okay, shrimp that are fresh do not need to dipped in brine for flavor. We get fresh shrimp in Jacksonville. My duck was tough and hard to cut even with the extra sharp knife provided. My wife's dish was over salted I think this place would be better described as a bistro or gastro pub not a restaurant. $45 for a filet mignon and everything ala carte IS pretentious. Service was pleasant but our server was torn between multiple tables. A good place for a rowdy dinner with friends, especially if you must wear your ball cap in the dining room. Great happy hour and interesting cocktails. otherwise an overly expensive concept that does not deliver on the food or the experience. Wow! So happy to try this amazing experience for the taste buds!! My hubby and I enjoyed a slow, relaxed dinner with drinks and an appetizer and --yum!! I'm a beer lover and a beer snob, but I ventured into the cocktail menu because the recipes were so enticing. They did not disappoint either. This restaurant is one that is so good at flavor combinations that you may find yourself enjoying things with ingredients you typically don't like. For me, that's things like, cucumbers, gin, fennel, and the list goes on. My husband was very impressed with the duck leg, how tender it was with a crispy skin. Everything we tasted here was so full of abundant and complex flavor. I cannot wait to come back as so many items on the menu looked delicious. The portions are smaller so this restaurant stands apart from traditional American meals in that regard. Having said that, this completely appeals to me as I do not like to feel stuffed after dining out. I have been several times for dinner, happy hour and brunch and have never been disappointed. The service is phenomenal, the menu selection is wonderful. Staff is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Be sure to try the Bouillabaisse, Duck Breast and the best ever Steak Frites you will put in your mouth! The desserts are also wonderful, yummy homemade Smoothies and Ice Creams are delicious! Also their Sunday brunch is a good choice for breakfast (omelettes, quiche) and lunch type menu items along with some great brunch cocktails - mimosas, Bloody Mary, etc. One of their staple cocktails has become my favourite - the French pear martini. Orsay Restaurant did not disappoint me at all in this regard. We hosted a private party in the Brocade Room on November 30, 2013. It was attended by 22 people. The party included a cocktail reception followed by a dinner where all guests ordered off the full menu. The food, service and ambiance was beyond expectation. We have dined at Orsay for dinner on several occasions and had brunch there as well, and were always happy with quality, service and overall value. The bar gets raised for a party that celebrates a special life event and Orsay hit a home run. I would highly recommend Orsay to anyone who wants an intimate setting for a memorable evening. Our go-to place when in Jacksonville, this is arguably the best restaurant in the city. Knowledgeable, very friendly staff greet you and make you feel very welcome as you take in the beautiful and relaxing ambiance. An extensive wine list is available along with an experienced Sommelier who is happy to guide you to the perfect pairing with your cuisine. I've always enjoyed the dining experience at Orsay. My personal favorite server is Tony, he is spot on!! This guy is very attentive and will do his best to make your experience enjoyable. One of the nicest things about Orsay is that they gladly bring to your table fish warm bread and the jam of the day, and btw it always delicious. Brunch and Lunch has always been my favorite dining experiences at Orsay, especially the Brunch, its really my particular favorite. The omelettes are to die for, and I also love their grits, they are really special. You cannot go wrong selecting restaurant Orsay for a unique, enjoyable and delicious dining experience. read more

Went to Orsay for a celebratory brunch (for our anniversary) and it was a delicious and memorable meal. We had reservations, and after being promptly sat our server wished us a happy anniversary and brought us each a glass of champagne. I love little thoughtful touches like that! When we left, our hostess even wished us a happy anniversary. Our meals certainly matched the occasion as well. Their assorted pastry/scone app and bloody Mary never disappoints and my main course of beef stroganoff was the best I've ever had. Looking forward to more celebratory meals at Orsay! read more

Everything from the service to the main course to the dessert was simply divine. The space itself is relaxing with dimmed lighting (but not too dim) and comfortable seating arrangements. Our waiter was fantastic! He knew the menu inside and out and easily made recommendations for us. We ordered the oysters, several cocktails (all very tasty), the mussels and steak. The quality of food being served is well worth the price, which compared to other establishments I've gone to of similar caliber up north is considerably cheaper! 10/10 would reccomend for a nice evening out read more

OMG! What a fabulous dinner we had! After a wine pairing in San Marco, a very sweet friend and I were still a little hungry. She made some suggestions, one of which was Orsay - I hadn't been, so the choice was easy! We made it there before Happy Hour ended and were treated to some incredible offerings: I've always sat at the bar and had excellent service. Had a great cocktail. The oysters were great at half-price during happy hour. The bouillabaisse was bangin! Everything was delicious! Service was top-notch! What a fantastic night - can't wait to go back! read more

we got recommendation of this restaurant from one of our co-workers. All the foods are good. We are satisfied what we ordered. HOWEVER, the server.. was little bit weird. And the way how she treated me as a customer was not nice at all. Also, she has been keep staring at me all the time right before we left. what the h.. ? I was so uncomfortable while I was eating this place. I did not want to give her any tips, even $1. I would not recommend this place to others. I was hoping this restaurant would live up to the hype I read about, but it left a little to be desired. The lobster mac was great and was cooked perfectly, but my steak was not cooked to how I ordered it, and it really just didn't have great flavor. It's definitely not a bad restaurant by any means, but I would go elsewhere if you're looking for fine dining in Jacksonville. read more

Great dining experience last evening, wonderful wine as well as great company. Monday's pretty slow, but it was fine with us, as we had pretty much the whole back area to ourselves. It was great to see our favorite waiter, Mark, and we were re-introduced to some old favorites in the pork chop, croque madam, steak tartare and of course, delicious red wine to top it off. read more

Amazing food. It's neither fast nor cheap but it's worth the time and money. The dinner is meant to be an event not a quick bite then on to the next thing. The staff is quick to help you and friendly. Everything from the fennel soup to the truffle mac and cheese, lamb and steak to the desert was fabulous (crème brûlée and chocolate something or other was spectacular)! read more

Great food. Friendly, attractive door staff. By far one of the nicest restaurants in the US. There is a traditional seating area that leads to a modern, posh lounge/bar. The prices are what you should expect when dining first class. Music was a touch too loud for me but I am old. Will go again. Recommend to everyone I know. It's worth the trip to Jax. read more

This place is the best! I've never had a bad experience here. If I could eat their Lobster Pot Pie every single day for the rest of my life, I would. The atmosphere is quiet and romantic. Can't say enough good things about this place. My husband and I went for a rare date night. The specialty martinis were wonderful. We started with the sauteed calamari which was perfect. For an entree I had the duck which is probably the best that I have ever had in Jacksonville. I highly recommend that everyone try Orsay. read more
