An outstanding dining experience for a perfectly planned Mother's Day. From start to finish the service was attentive and seamless, food was beautifully presented and full of flavor, and the decor created a warm, elegant atmosphere. The creative cocktails were a standout-unique, well-balanced, and the perfect complement to the meal. The pork chop was perfectly seasoned with just the right amount of crunch. Orsay is the perfect spot for a memorable night out.

My wife and I had dinner last night at Orsay to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We had an early reservation (5:15) in the Park Street dining room which is adjacent to the kitchen. It was a little noisier than the main dining room, but I enjoyed being able to see & hear the kitchen operating efficiently. We were greeted warmly and wished a happy anniversary by both the hostess and our excellent server Tony who presented us with complementary white wine as yet another warm anniversary greeting. I don't drink, but that just meant more for my lovely bride. We decided to splurge a little and ordered the Wellington (which requires a minimum 24 hour notice). Tony was very informative and explained the process for the preparation and gave us the opportunity to map out our meal. My wife started with the French onion soup which is excellent as always. I wanted to save room for the main event of the evening. Finally it was showtime. A server brought the Wellington to the table whole to give folks (like me) the chance to take a photo before it goes back to the kitchen to be sliced. The Wellington is MASSIVE which is why it's suggested for 2-4 people. The steak is cooked beautifully, the pastry is delicious, the filling was amazing, and the jus gave it a real punch that set it off and brought everything into sharp focus. We had pommes frites and Brussels sprouts as sides. Definitely ordered too much food (no regrets). Frites are always tasty, but the sprouts are next level. Roasted with bacon lardon & pearl onions. Absolutely delicious. For dessert we were torn. My wife wanted the vanilla crème brûlée, but was very intrigued by the mini key lime crème brûlée. Tony, being a real mensch, gave her the mini on the house so she could try both. I went with the banana cake which was incredibly disappointing - firm, dry cake, think & gummy ganache. And this is where my only criticism of the evening comes in. Apparently the banana cake is a vegan dessert despite that not being indicated anywhere on the menu. If I had known that it was vegan, I would not have ordered it. I expressed my disappointment and our server had the cake taken off our bill. Again, shouts to Tony, stand-up dude. That wasn't enough to take the shine off a delicious meal and a delightful evening. We have been several times and will be back. Hopefully by then they can figure out that whole vegan dessert transparency thing.

This place did not disappoint! We had oysters to start. The lobster pot pie for our main meal and the dessert tower to end a perfect dinner. Be sure to get reservations as you're gonna need it. We will definitely be back!

One of my favorite places to dine,came here for an anniversary and on New Years Eve,Always great drinks and delicious food. Dim lightening for a more romantic feel. Upscale service we were seated immediately with reservation and my server was prompt and made modifications very easy. The prices are fare but not too expensive and won't break the bank. Parking not the best if it's a busy night, but uber is always a good option

I had takeout and it was pretty good, a very nice flavor, not overwhelming, a little less beef than I would prefer but the sauce was decadent and the provided bread (though on the harder side - I know some people prefer it that way), really soaked it up when I used the bread for dipping! During a work trip to Jacksonville, I had this place on my radar from a Yelp friend recommending who is in Orlando - thanks Ronnald M! After visiting and discussing with local coworkers, they all raved about this place and I can see why it's loved by locals. Heck, even Yelpers I spoke with in the area loved this place too. Both beautiful in decor and seating, and in the food and beverages served. My coworker and I went on a Saturday early evening with no reservation, and were seated within 5-10 minutes which was great. We were there in time to make the last few moments of Saturday Cocktail Hour (11am - 6pm), so I had to have a dirty vodka martini since they had blue cheese stuffed olives. Be rude not to! Same with enjoying some fresh bread and butter they bring you to start the meal. For food, we splurged on various items and I had a non-vegetarian meal to treat myself (try to avoid meat for health reasons). For starters, I had the Black Truffle Mac N Cheese and Duck Wings while my coworker had the French onion soup and shrimp cocktail. I haven't had Duck since going vegetarian for the first time at 16 years old so it was definitely an experience! I found it to be a darker meat with a more gamey flavor than chicken. Interesting, but not sure I'd have every day or even yearly as a treat. As for the black truffle Mac n Cheese? I could and would easily eat that every day if calories and distance to this location were not obstacles! My coworker also raved about her two items, and would return in a heartbeat! For entrees, we enjoyed beef stroganoff and vegetable shepherds pie. Both rich and decadent. Loved the recommendation to try both from our amazing server - Ayla. Every dish meeting the mark just when you thought this location couldn't top the last item! Which leads me to dessert, which elevated this location to easily one of my top meals in 2025 and you know I dine out a lot! Bread Pudding Du Jour: Baked to Order, our bread pudding is encrusted with Demerara sugar, served hot with a scoop of our house-made ice cream. Madagascar Vanilla Bean Crème Brûlée: Vanilla Bean chantilly, baked meringue, fresh berries To say we were in heaven was an absolute understatement. The desserts were divine and paired lovely with a pot of earl grey tea split between us. My first time trying Serendipitea brand and found to be quite lovely. What a way to finish the meal and truly remarkable to have every item served with perfection and presented gorgeously. Hands down, one of my best dining experiences in 2025. If you are in Jacksonville, Florida then you need to come check out Orsay!

We were here for brunch. Hubby was disappointed that the menu only had vegetarian Shepherd's Pie. When we mentioned it, server, or better, hospitality professional, Ayla, said the chef could make it but Carl already had changed his mind with his heart now set on the shrimp and grits. The music was fantastic, yet we could still easily converse. Coincidentally the executive chef was in today, which was kind of exciting to me as a die hard foodie. We ordered a Bloody Mary and a Cucumber Mule. Both were excellent. I've never had a more unique version that was still true to the drink. The bread was outstanding. Warm, fresh, soft with a perfect crunchy crust. The butter was so flavorful! We wondered if they made it and if not, I want to know where I can buy it. I'm not a preserves person but Carl loved it. I'm not sure what flavor it was. For app we shared the escargot. The entire dish was so delicate. Soft, buttery escargot, garlicky sauce with depth, served in a perfect vol au vent. I had the Beef Stroganoff. The beef was melt in your mouth. The pappardelle pasta was fresh and al dente. The mushrooms were fresh and so tasty! The portion was much bigger than the picture implies. Carl had shrimp and grits. Easily the best he's ever had. I tasted the grits. They were velvety, cheesy, and buttery. I have NEVER had grits like this. The Cajun sauce was spicy but not overpowering. Shrimp were perfectly cooked. I want to say it's the best meal we've ever had. Including New York and Vegas. Ayla has the best laugh and was spot on with every detail. She was kind enough to laugh at all our jokes. We crack ourselves up. When you go, ask for Ayla as your hospitality professional. We are going back in a couple weeks.

On the morning of Mother's Day, I wanted to see if by chance I could get a reservation for a solo brunch before my other activities for the day. I tried Orsay because I've been once but have always wanted to try them again. I fortunately did get a reservation for one! When I arrived, they were very busy (to be expected on Mother's Day), but I was greeted right away. As she was telling me my table would be ready shortly, I saw an empty seat at the bar and asked if I could sit there instead. She confirmed I could so I had my brunch bar too with a great bar staff and other patrons enjoying the day. I ordered the Hey Jealously drink, which is gin based. It was a nice balanced drink, not too sweet and so refreshing! To eat I ordered Eden Farms Berkshire Pork chop but requested my egg fried hard vs. sunny side up. It was so good! The batter on the pork chop was very well seasoned as was the pork chop itself. It was also a nice size. The warm potatoes and arugula salad were also super good. I wasn't sure what to expect for a potato and arugula salad and found them to complement each other very well. I expected there to be an understandable longer wait, considering the day and how busy they were. However they were very efficient and my meal came much quicker than expected, fresh and hot. The bar staff were very attentive as they served everyone at the bar and took and made drink orders from the restaurant. It was a great experience and allowed me to start my Mother's Day off very well.

Orsay has been a longtime favorite of mine, and brunch here is always a win. We came for a birthday celebration this time, and they struck the perfect balance; acknowledging the occasion with a candle and macaron (classy) instead of a group sing-along (merciful). The bourbon orange French toast deserves its own standing ovation. The bread? Absolute perfection! Crispy outside, soft inside, and not a hint of sogginess. The orange flavor is front and center (orange is definitely the star here), but it plays nicely with everything else. And you can skip the butter (although it's delicious in its own right). The crème fraîche is all you need. I balanced it with bacon (gotta have the salty with the sweet) and it was perfectly crisp and tasty. I usually spring for a brunch cocktail, but I went the caffeine route this time with an iced latte made with Bold Bean coffee. Smooth and satisfying. That said, I couldn't resist sampling around the table: the Corpse Reviver #2 (bright, lemony, not cloyingly sweet), the red sangria (my future go-to). Food wise I sampled eggs à la Orsay (hello, truffle), and onion soup (closest to being in France I've found for this!). Oh, and beef stroganoff and west coast oysters made their way to the table too...both solid choices. For dessert, the toasted coconut macaron reminded me why theirs are always a treat. From start to finish, Orsay nails the experience every time: delicious food, attentive staff, and an ambiance that manages to feel both lively and intimate. Whether you're celebrating something special or just celebrating the fact that it's Sunday, it's always worth a visit.

The service was great, the food was even better, but it is a tiny bit loud in there. I wish I had room to try more items, but what we did try was outstanding- lobster pot pie, beef stroganoff and pierogis. When booking a reservation, make sure you don't book the one in New York. Haven't been to Orsay in a while and I love their lunch/ brunch menu. The staff there were amazing and made my visit a little extra special as I celebrated my birthday. I ordered the shrimp and grits, and my husband ordered the steak and eggs, paired with an espresso martini and red wine. I quite enjoyed everything we ordered and can't wait to go back.

It was busy -- in the best way -- with that lively weekend energy that makes the place feel warm and buzzing. We sat outside, which was perfect for brunch and only offered on the weekends, and the whole setup felt relaxed and stylish without trying too hard. The food was delicious, classic French with a fresh twist, and everything came out beautifully prepared. The service was genuinely great -- attentive, friendly, and on top of things even with the crowd. It made the whole experience feel effortless. Orsay is the kind of spot you look forward to returning to, whether for a slow brunch or a cozy dinner. It's a true Avondale gem.

I was delighted when my friend suggested brunch at Orsay. It had been some time since my last visit, and it is undoubtedly a restaurant I always long to revisit. This is not only due to the exceptional quality of the cuisine but also the outstanding service. We enjoyed our brunch with a shared brunch plateau which offers biscuits and gravy, cheesy grits and they're delicious bacon or you can have ham and a couple of eggs..accompanied before hand with their assortment of their daily selection of fresh pastries. We also ordered a Jambon Omelette and concluded with macarons for dessert. Every aspect of the experience was exceptional, particularly sharing tbe experience with friends.

We loved our experience here! I brought my parents here for Christmas Eve dinner and it did not disappoint! Cain was our server and they were so great. They explained everything and so patient. Everything tasted great from the bread to the drinks, the entrees and the dessert. I loved the low lights and the decor. It felt upscale without feeling stuffy. I've been coming here for over a decade, and it used to be amazing but lately every visit has come with issues. The timing of the food is off - everything comes out at once including cold soup and cold entrées. The salads have had wilted yellow lettuce, which I personally think should be served. I sat at the bar, and the bartender had to look up every drink recipe for each of us something you wouldn't expect at a restaurant like tjis. On another visit I ordered soup to go with our appetizers, but it came out with the entrées instead. I told the server I didn't want it anymore, but they brought it anyway and charged me for it, even though I never touched it. The drink selection is excellent, and the bouillabaisse was one of the best I've had. Unfortunately due to the inconsistencies, I wouldn't recommend this place for a special occasion but would for a casual dinner. read more

as a jax native that moved away 5 years ago, anytime i'm in town i have to have to have to make a stop at orsay. the food is consistently delicious, the staff is always so friendly and knowledgeable, and have i mentioned the food?!?? i recommend ordering a handful of small plates and an entree and just sharing everything, but make sure you save room for dessert- this is the best creme brulee you'll ever have i live laugh LOVE orsay so much so good, always read more

I'm honestly shocked I didn't enjoy my food more. I've waited for some time to visit this restaurant and I was not impressed. Maybe I built up my hopes to high. I went for a friend brunch date. I ordered the steak and eggs. The steak was cooked to my liking but nothing that wowed me. The bread/jam spread was more impressive. Maybe I'll try them again and have a more flavorful experience or maybe I'll just go to the bar because the best part of my visit was the Espresso Martini. It's a must try. read more

Who knew you can find such a gem in Jacksonville?! Absolutely loved everything about it. This one of those places that I will be making up a business trip to Jax for. Great ambiance and the service, but the food is to die for. Also for us living in high cost locations, Orsay is pretty reasonable. I loved their escargot appetizer - not like anything I tried before, and large enough to make it an entree. My favorite restaurant in Jacksonville! However, the escargots were better when they were served in their shells. They get cold too quickly served out of their shell on a plate. Please return to the old way you plated the escargot!! The lobster pot pie and beef stroganoff never miss. I also really enjoyed the bouillabaisse and cassoulet. The steak frites was just okay. Service is always on point. Ambiance is definitely more posh than most Jacksonville restaurants. Orsay is definitely good for special occasions or work dinners. read more

We celebrated our Friendsgiving with a Brunch at restaurant Orsay and we are so thankful that we did. Our server was amazing. She was thoughtful and very knowledgeable about the menu. The food was excellent and full of flavor. I had the burgers and fries and didn't leave anything on my plate. I also had the mimosas with pineapple juice and they made them to perfection. Orsay is easily one of Jacksonville's best dining spots--perfect for date nights or special occasions. Must-try dishes include the steak frites, onion soup, beef stroganoff, and bouillabaisse. Desserts like the crème brûlée, cheesecake, and bread pudding are unforgettable. Dinner for 2. - Ambiance (3*) The Resy portal could be clearer about the differences between lounge and Park St. When I made my reservation, I didn't even notice the Park St option. The lounge area is really spartan, and it is loud when full. - Service (5*) Extremely professional and very quick. - Scallop Tartare (3*) There was a slightly off putting bitter flavor permeating throughout. Thought the potato chips were really yummy. - Fresh Fish (5*) Today was flounder from NC. An almost impossibly crispy skin. Great flavor. Cleaned this dish. - Value (3*) Higher end of pricing, not copious portions, and some execution flaws. - Final Word Certainly a nice enough spot to return. Inconsistent. Will seek other menu items next time. Tantalizing potential found in the fish dish. read more

I've been to Orsay for special occasions probably 6 times in the last 4 years, tonight I was disappointed. Started out at "happy hour". My daughter had a 52$ filet ordered " medium", was overcooked and had to be replaced. The Irish coffee I had for dessert looked like a regular coffee, no whipped cream, wasn't actually hot and minimal whiskey. We had a 325$ check( for 4 people) and the meal and experience was less than I had grown to appreciate.. service was mediocre. Having to wait for one of 4 meals to be remade was not acknowledged or compensated. read more

Inconsistent, Overpriced, and Disappointing for Vegetarians I've given Orsay three chances, the first one was phenomenal with just dessert, but the second two were a letdown--especially as a vegetarian. Visit 1 (May last year): My girlfriend and I came just for dessert. The chocolate mousse, the turtle cheesecake, and the mini creme brûlée of the day (a chocolate raspberry one) were excellent and we couldn't wait to come back. Visit 2 (about a month later): Encouraged by the dessert, we came back for dinner and ordered the vegan shepherd's pie and the faux croque madame. The shepherd's pie was listed with mashed potatoes in the physical menu, but showed fingerling potatoes online--and that's what we were served: lukewarm fingerlings with no flavor. The faux croque madame was bland and difficult to eat, it was more like an open faced sandwich with the toppings falling off. Again we ordered the chocolate mousse and it was great, the only good part of this experience. Minor detail - the first time we ordered the chocolate mousse it came with gold flakes and the second time it didn't. Small, but we noticed. Visit 3 (nearly a year later): After a long break, we gave Orsay one last shot. I ordered the pasta primavera, which was just pasta topped with oily vegetables--no seasoning, no effort, just bland. My girlfriend ordered the mushroom pappardelle, which was similarly disappointing: the sauce was described as a cream sauce but came out more like a soup. Extremely thin, almost watery. On the last two visits, service was consistently slow. I feel like we don't ask for much, but on the third visit our waitress checked in shortly after we received our food, but we didn't see her again the rest of the meal. We had been finished eating for at least 20 minutes before a busboy came to clear our table. Another 20 minutes passed before our waitress came by to ask if we were interested in dessert. We originally did want dessert, but after having waited so long with an empty table for the check, we figured it was better to spend our money elsewhere so we wound up at Biscottis. The most frustrating part is that the specifically vegetarian/vegan menu is full of misleading information. The online vegetarian options say they come with fries, but in person they come with a side salad--and the fries are cooked in animal fat anyway. Several "vegetarian" items also include Parmigiano-Reggiano, which contains animal rennet and isn't actually vegetarian. It's hard to trust a menu that shows this little care for dietary accuracy. If you're vegetarian or vegan, Orsay just isn't worth it. The desserts are excellent, but everything else feels like an afterthought. It's disappointing to see a place that presents itself as thoughtful and refined fall this flat on execution and care. read more

Orsay never disappoints... wait I want to give 6 stars! Visited today for brunch and I can tell you l, I am still full, had a wonderful time, service was impecable and drinks are amazing! Now on to the details. When we arrived we all ordered drinks, they make a fantastic old fashioned here, and the Bloody Mary was so tasty! Appetizer, we had a sample of all the devil eggs, they didn't have the 10 dollars egg, but what we had was amazing, highly recommend the 5 dollars egg, with lobster, so delicious, no arguments. The pastry basket was amazing, today we had a savory cheese danish that was out of this world and paired with the sweetness of all the toppings we had.. wait, I can't describe anymore. I ordered the mussels and they were not only super tasty but they were so clean. No sand at all, I also had a side of French fries and they came with this deliciously tangy aioli. Definitely go or run to Orsay, I wish I lived closer, this is the place to go for good Eats. read more

Service provided by Mo the bartender and we sat at the bar. The ambiance is romantic and dark . They played light music , not too loud just enough to have dinner conversation. You can eat inside and out (they have heaters). I ordered the escargot , didn't come how I usually like it . It was just okay , came out warm instead of hot. The Mac and cheese was good, made with catavali noodles. It's very saucy but got the job done. The lobster pot pie sounded nice but it's really lobster with a biscuit and veggies. The lobster was good but beware , it ain't no pot pie . Haha other than that , a simple Caesar salad and good service. You could go or not go. It was okay , but go get your own experience. read more

This is my new favorite Jacksonville restaurant for 5 star quality foodies. The atmosphere and food are surely a delight. The service was top notch and impressive. Oh, the food oh boy the food, starting with the Filet Mignon which was so tender and delicious you could cut it with a fork. The Filet was tasty and far better than any specialty steakhouse. The Lobster Mac and Cheese was mouth watering and delectable. Don't forget to try the shrimp cocktail too. The food quality was superb and will leave you desiring more. What a pleasant surprise Our dinner plans had an unexpected change and we needed to find another place to eat.. we just showed up at Orsay, the dining room/reservations and bar were full but we persevered and got two seats at the bar! All 3 bar staff were great; drinks were perfect and the entree recommendations were appreciated for this first timer! We ordered (apps, not pictured) lobster macaroni, onion soup, beef stroganoff, Special: duck breast w/ truffle papardelle and crème brûlée for dessert. Four of us set out to enjoy a celebratory dinner at Orsay on a Friday night. The staff honored the request on our reservation and sat us at a really nice, semi-secluded corner table - our dining experience from that point on was totally outstanding! The service was low-key while being completely attentive; our waitress always wore a smile, and gave us a number of spot-on recommendations :-) I could tell it was going to be a great meal when our appetizers arrived. We got two orders of the lobster mac & cheese, as well as the French onion soup. I've had both dishes in many places over the years, but Orsay's rendition of both was first-shelf, and the lobster mac & cheese an absolute thing of beauty! The dish was rich and creamy, with a subtle flavor profile that was so enticing that I was almost tempted to order another helping :-) Our entrees (filet mignon, beef stroganoff, lamb sirlon, and the pan seared fish) were all excellent, but the pan seared fish totally took the prize! It was served with bacon, grits, and creamed corn, then topped with a delicous cress - completely amazing! For dessert we all opted for their house-made ice cream with mini creme brulees. It was a wonderful finish to a perfect meal :-) To sum it all up, the combination of warm, welcoming atmopshere, world-class cuisine and exceptional service totally made our evening; I look forward to returning soon. read more

I went in for an appetizer and a drink. The grilled octopus was amazing. The staff was welcoming. The bartender made this amazing floral margarita with 100 proof tequila because I was looking for a non-alcoholic beverage. She took the time to find out the flavor profile that I was looking for. I didn't even know there was 100 proof tequila. It was a wonderful experience. A true gem of a place. And quite busy for a Thursday at 5:30 PM. Certainly a very popular place. read more

We went for a birthday dinner. I called ahead about a special dessert and Head Pastry Chef Sarah Harper contacted me directly and helped me figure out a special dessert - which was to die for! She even came out afterwards to check that we loved it. Her attention to detail made the evening spectacular. We started with the foie gras and steak tartare. We enjoyed both but thought the foie won't the appetizer round. For main courses we enjoyed the duck, lamb chops and lobster pot pie. All were perfectly seasoned and beautifully plated. We decided the duck won by a hair but the lamb and lobster tied for silver. Our waiter was knowledgeable, patient with all our questions and available when needed. Absolutely love this restaurant! We have sat outside, lounge, bar, back or restaurant etc all locations are equally as great and have their own atmosphere. Every server I have had has been thorough, knowledgeable and provided excellent suggestions. All food and cocktails ordered here have been incredible and made with passion and love. It is evident in the prevention. Would recommend this establishment for date night, girl friends getting together, small, medium or large parties. 5 stars for Orsay happy hour/dinner! I picked this restaurant for my birthday after hearing rave reviews from locals. We didn't have a reservation since we were planning to sit at the bar for happy hour at 5 pm. When we arrive the hostess notified us that she did have a table available, and we could do happy hour at a table. Amazing! Our server was great. I started with a glass of rose prosecco and my boyfriend had a daiquiri. All of the wine is half off for happy hour. Insane! I knew I wanted to order oysters, so I started with 6, plus the scallop crudo, and a small lobster mac. Our waiter also brought out warm bread and butter. My boyfriend ordered the cheeseburger and fries and all of our dishes came out at the same time. These were the best oysters I have ever had! Seriously! I don't remember where they were from, but our waiter described them as a "boutique" oyster. The scallop crudo was fresh and buttery. I scooped some of it on the chips, but could have eaten a whole bowl of it just with a spoon. On to the lobster mac. HEAVEN! It had huge chunks of lobster meat throughout and was such a treat. There were a few pieces of lobster shell that I had to spit out, but it wasn't that much of a problem. My boyfriend loved his burger and fries and I enjoyed snacking on the fries too. I decided to order a glass of red wine when I was eating the mac and cheese, and was between bordeaux and cab franc. I also ordered 6 more oysters (did I mention they are half off 4-7pm), and the waiter recommended the Cab Franc to pair with the oysters. I thought that was an odd suggestion, but the Cab Franc was peppery and earthy while still fruity. Loved it! Finished with that Bordeaux I was contemplating before plus 2 small creme brulees and homemade ferrero roche chocolates with huge chunks of hazelnuts. This meal was sooo good and the atmosphere is very comfortable and casual. It felt like such a splurge and was really not that expensive at all during happy hour. We will be back soon! read more

Everything about orsay was great. A little fun fact for you if you book on Resy make sure it's orsay in Jacksonville and not NY. The hostess was very sweet and helped us fix our error. Our waitress was very friendly and gave us some really good recommendations and I now know why this is one of Jacksonville's most popular restaurant. read more

The roasted oysters were amazing, and the service was excellent. I'd highly recommend the happy hour. It's available in both the dining room and at the bar. As you would expect, the prices are on the higher end. The steak frites was good, but I'm not sure I would order it again. Lots of yummy frites, but the steak wasn't my favorite. read more

My friends have been telling me about Orsay for a while now. I was so excited to try them for the first time last weekend. We arrived at opening and luckily they had one table that was not reserved. We also were fortunate enough to hit happy hour. We ordered three appetizers to share and I tried a custom cocktail. We started with a tomato tartare. I love tomatoes but I had no idea I could love them more. This dish was amazing! So many flavors. And the crostinis paired perfectly. Next we tried the roasted oysters. I can't stop thinking about them LOL! The blend of bacon, spinach, roasted garlic and cheeses was magnificent. I could have eaten a whole order myself (or two). Last but not least was the roasted mushroom flatbread. There were a lot of herbs and fresh shaved parmesan to top it off. One of the tastiest flat breads I have ever had the pleasure of eating. My French pear cocktail was crisp and refreshing on a hot summer day. It was quite potent so I sipped it and made it last for the entire meal. Orsay made a lasting impression. Amazing restaurant! Would probably recommend having a reservation. They have indoor outdoor seating. We had a reservation for outdoor seating. Unfortunately there was a cold front so it was freezing. We asked the waiter if we can change our seat for indoor but they said they had no more tables. They did have a heater by our table so that was nice. If you're celebrating birthdays they do complimentary deserts, we had the a macaroon. Small menu which means delicious food! read more

I was looking for a fine dining restaurant in which to celebrate a special occasion. In the category of "French Dining" the word "restaurant" implies a certain level of elegance and sophistication. The menu of the Orsay certainly promises restaurant level cuisine but they do have the tagline "Elegance without pretension" Okay. The bar area looks like a college dorm day room with low couches and chairs and lots of noisy ,happy people enjoying a very happy hour. The dining room is hard surfaced all round ( no tablecloths) and quite noisy. The menu is extensive and the wine list is impressive. Our food was okay, shrimp that are fresh do not need to dipped in brine for flavor. We get fresh shrimp in Jacksonville. My duck was tough and hard to cut even with the extra sharp knife provided. My wife's dish was over salted I think this place would be better described as a bistro or gastro pub not a restaurant. $45 for a filet mignon and everything ala carte IS pretentious. Service was pleasant but our server was torn between multiple tables. A good place for a rowdy dinner with friends, especially if you must wear your ball cap in the dining room. Great happy hour and interesting cocktails. otherwise an overly expensive concept that does not deliver on the food or the experience. Wow! So happy to try this amazing experience for the taste buds!! My hubby and I enjoyed a slow, relaxed dinner with drinks and an appetizer and --yum!! I'm a beer lover and a beer snob, but I ventured into the cocktail menu because the recipes were so enticing. They did not disappoint either. This restaurant is one that is so good at flavor combinations that you may find yourself enjoying things with ingredients you typically don't like. For me, that's things like, cucumbers, gin, fennel, and the list goes on. My husband was very impressed with the duck leg, how tender it was with a crispy skin. Everything we tasted here was so full of abundant and complex flavor. I cannot wait to come back as so many items on the menu looked delicious. The portions are smaller so this restaurant stands apart from traditional American meals in that regard. Having said that, this completely appeals to me as I do not like to feel stuffed after dining out. Some people may think it's to expensive for the portions but obviously you're paying for the culinary expertise and it's so worth it IMO. Excellent service and atmosphere. I have been several times for dinner, happy hour and brunch and have never been disappointed. The service is phenomenal, the menu selection is wonderful. Staff is extremely knowledgeable about the menu and the wine list. Be sure to try the Bouillabaisse, Duck Breast and the best ever Steak Frites you will put in your mouth! The desserts are also wonderful, yummy homemade Smoothies and Ice Creams are delicious! Also their Sunday brunch is a good choice for breakfast (omelettes, quiche) and lunch type menu items along with some great brunch cocktails - mimosas, Bloody Mary, etc. One of their staple cocktails has become my favourite - the French pear martini. Last time I was with my boss Alexander near Orsay and I invited him to have a rest. He ordered the duck hash and it was outstanding! Alex was pleasantly surprised. We hosted a private party in the Brocade Room on November 30, 2013. It was attended by 22 people. The party included a cocktail reception followed by a dinner where all guests ordered off the full menu. The food, service and ambiance was beyond expectation. We have dined at Orsay for dinner on several occasions and had brunch there as well, and were always happy with quality, service and overall value. The bar gets raised for a party that celebrates a special life event and Orsay hit a home run. I would highly recommend Orsay to anyone who wants an intimate setting for a memorable evening. Our go-to place when in Jacksonville, this is arguably the best restaurant in the city. Knowledgeable, very friendly staff greet you and make you feel very welcome as you take in the beautiful and relaxing ambiance. An extensive wine list is available along with an experienced Sommelier who is happy to guide you to the perfect pairing with your cuisine. I highly recommend the bone-in pork chop, which is over an inch thick, bursting with juicy flavor which will certainly redefine your definition of what a "pork chop" should be. I've always enjoyed the dining experience at Orsay. My personal favorite server is Tony, he is spot on!! This guy is very attentive and will do his best to make your experience enjoyable. One of the nicest things about Orsay is that they gladly bring to your table fish warm bread and the jam of the day, and btw it always delicious. Brunch and Lunch has always been my favorite dining experiences at Orsay, especially the Brunch, its really my particular favorite. Went to Orsay for a celebratory brunch (for our anniversary) and it was a delicious and memorable meal. We had reservations, and after being promptly sat our server wished us a happy anniversary and brought us each a glass of champagne. I love little thoughtful touches like that! When we left, our hostess even wished us a happy anniversary. Our meals certainly matched the occasion as well. Everything from the service to the main course to the dessert was simply divine. The space itself is relaxing with dimmed lighting (but not too dim) and comfortable seating arrangements. Our waiter was fantastic! He knew the menu inside and out and easily made recommendations for us. We ordered the oysters, several cocktails (all very tasty), the mussels and steak. The quality of food being served is well worth the price, which compared to other establishments I've gone to of similar caliber up north is considerably cheaper! 10/10 would reccomend for a nice evening out read more

OMG! What a fabulous dinner we had! After a wine pairing in San Marco, a very sweet friend and I were still a little hungry. She made some suggestions, one of which was Orsay - I hadn't been, so the choice was easy! We made it there before Happy Hour ended and were treated to some incredible offerings: I've always sat at the bar and had excellent service. Had a great cocktail. we got recommendation of this restaurant from one of our co-workers. All the foods are good. We are satisfied what we ordered. HOWEVER, the server.. was little bit weird. And the way how she treated me as a customer was not nice at all. Also, she has been keep staring at me all the time right before we left. what the h.. ? I was so uncomfortable while I was eating this place. I did not want to give her any tips, even $1. I would not recommend this place to others.
