Husband and I were in the area and wanted Korean-Chinese food, so we stopped by. The place itself is cute and clean, and service is pretty friendly, although most of them are older ajummas. We ordered the jjajangmyun and the jjamppong -- extra spicy. When we received our food, we were shocked at how large the portions were. Two people could easily share the jjamppong. However, it wasn't spicy at all!! It had the potential to be really good, if it had any sort of spice to it. The jjajangmyun was fine, not amazing. Overall, food is a solid 3 stars, but considering the service and portion sizes, it's worth 4 stars. read more

This place has a really good spicy cold noodle with broth. The serving size is big and comes with broth on the side when you order togo. I usually order togo from here and they take the time to package it very well in nice container and put the soup on the side. There is radish and cucumber that comes with the noodles. There's no meat it in but I do not think it comes with meat at any other restaurant either. They also pack kimchi and pickled radish with the togo order which is very nice. The food takes about 15 minutes to be made after you place the phone order so it gives me just enough time to come pick it up without having to wait there. The food here is fresh; but it is not tasty. I ordered the traditional beef and chicken bowl combo. Both the proteins were soft and cooked well. However, it was not seasoned enough it can use stronger spices - it became bland halfway eating it. The combo meal includes many items: white rice, salad (mostly cabbage & lettce) with light dressing, and two egg rolls. The rice is soft and the salad adds an extra crunch to the heavy meat and rice. The egg rolls were filled with vegetables and they were crispy on the outside. A combo meal is good to share with two people as they give you plenty of proteins and carbs. For most of the combo meals it comes with miso soup serve piping hot. They also provide many sides: radish, kimchi, and all types of sauces. They give enough sides for the meal where you do not have to order extras. The sides are fresh and they give you the right one that helps compliment the meal. The menu has many items from cold soups to sushi if you are looking for something different. The prices are affordable and you get plenty for what you pay for which is great. There are many seatings inside as this is an actual restaurant and there is practically no wait for large parties having many large tables available. This restaurant might be a little hard to find as this is the only restaurant in the plaza it is located in. Driving by you can tell you found it with the many cars parked outside, this is in a plaza where it does not get crowded and you might pass it driving by. They are close on Sundays and close early during the week at 8 so no late night cravings if you need it. read more

I placed an order on the phone for dinner, and was very pleased with the food. I got the spicy jjajamyeon and fried dumplings. The spicy jjajangmyeon was unlike any jjajangmyeon I had before, as the sauce was thick. It was spicy as well, so beware towards people who can't handle spice! Flavor wise it was great, but it just had a thicker consistency than what I was used too. It also had some potatoes inside, which was new to me but worked together well! The fried dumplings were deep fried, and not pan fried and had a beef filling- it was alright but I definitely enjoyed the jjajangmyeon more. I also wanted to order kimbap but they said they didn't have it anymore when I called. The order took about 15 minutes, and pick up was a breeze. I usually get the teriyaki beef bowl but I notice there's an inconsistency with how it's flavored. Some days it's so good but I guess it depends who the cook is for the day. So I was crakin open a cold one with the boys on a chilly Thursday night during bowling and when we decided we wanted to grab some delicious Korean food. We heard about this place from another friend and so we decided to check it out. First off this place was POPPIN for Thursday night. I came in and was told that there would be a 15 minute wait. There wasn't anywhere to sit and wait but lemme tell you it was definitely worth it. After we were seated immediately and pointed to a self serve water/hot tea station. Idk what kind of tea they're using, but I'm pretty sure it was grown in a land where stress doesn't exist because the first sip of that tea instantly melted all of mine away. But I digress; it's time for the real part of this review. Our waitress, Sujan, recommended we try the ja ja man and fried dumplings. We ordered that and these dumplings were crispy like you've never SEEN. They were crispy and juice and you can tell the Mexicans in cooking in the back know what's up (major props btw). Absolutely love this place...really small family run Korean noodles. Basic menu with small variety of noodle soup and rice dishes, and they do it well. The food quality is surprisingly pretty good for the really good value pricing. Portions are generous and staff are friendly and very accommodating. New local go to when we don't feel like cooking and you just want to go somewhere and know it's going to be good. The tangsuyuk was definitely extra crispy but still pretty ok. The kimbap is your basic kimbap so it was ok. The bibimnaengymyun was tasty and I would order this again. This is probably one of my favorite Korean places in Cerritos. I usually get their chicken/beef bowl for lunch and it fills me up pretty well. The meat is always tender, juicy and the right amount of burnt for the caramelized aroma to kick in. I also really appreciate their open kitchen design. You can see the whole process of your food being cooked right in front of you as you wait. Prices are reasonable as well. Highly recommend this place! read more

Great location for lunch. Food comes fast and service is great. If you love Korean food and are short on time, this is a great place. Children friendly, clean, old Korean style metal water cups :) I love the JjaJangMyeon (Korean noodle with bean sauce, veggies and beef) and TangSuYuk (fried pork with sweet sour sauce). My son loves their JjangBong (spicy noodle soup with frutty de mare). They play K-Pop music and K-Drama on TV. Store has a Paris Baguette design, but for Korean food. But this location is open for dinner as well, therefore not only a lunch location. Prices are affordable and never empty when I was there, it is a well known location in this neighborhood. read more

Food - 2/5 Technically there was nothing wrong with the food. However, the food was shy of mediocre at best. It's typical Korean Chinese fast food along with Korean Diner style fast food. It was made quick, which was nice, but the quality was like instant frozen food. We had the tonkatsu, dumplings, and black bean noodle. I would not be craving food from this place anytime soon. Price - 1/5 We paid over $50 along with a tip. If the food was a bit tastier then the price point of the food would not have mattered. For what we ordered and what we got I would never come back to this place. Service. 3/5 The lady taking orders was amicable and the staff said their greetings. For the type of restaurant the type of service makes sense. However, there was nothing above and beyond that justified the price point. You even have to put away your own dishes. Delicious Korean food with some really kind servers! If you're here to grab some of their kimbap, I'd recommend that you come earlier in the day, since they make their kimbap in the morning and if it sells out, it sells out. I came two days in a row craving kimbap and tteokbokki, but since I came around 7PM, the kimbap was all gone :( But the other food I've had here all taste amazing, come in generous portions, and priced well- but keep in mind, I'm not Korean, but my Korean friend enjoyed this place as well! The water and tea are self-serve, and the dishes come with delicious kimchi and yellow pickled radish that complement spicy dishes very well. Here's what I had: 1) Tteokbokki (Regular) (5/5) - Absolutely delicious. The rice cakes were cooked perfectly, and dish comes with plenty of thickened sauce for you to dip other things you order, such as kimbap or their dumplings. I've had way too many tteokbokki that came with watery sauce, rather than the thickened one they serve here - and that provide way less fish cakes + onion. Aside the rice cake, it also comes with a generous amount of fishcakes, and though the bowl might look small, it's more food than you might think. It also comes with a bowl of soup. 2) Steamed Dumplings (5/5) - Hand-made goodness! Their dumplings are huge, and the skin is of decent thickness, with moist meat filling on the inside. 3) JjolMyeon (5/5) - I've never actually had JjolMyeon before coming here, but of the two times I came here, I got this dish both times. I love the consistency of the chewy noodles, and the fresh vegetables give this dish a lighter feel. As for the parking, there's plenty of parking in the huge plaza parking lot that doesn't ever get packed. I'll definitely be back - I've got to try their kimbap!! read more

I went here with my brother on our lunch break today and we ordered: 1. Spicy Rice Cake Combo (W/ Gimbap) $10.99 2. Spicy Squid with Rice $8.99 When we were ordering at the counter, I asked for the spicy rice cake combo and the waitress leans over to the cashier and says, "tell them we can't make gimbap because we're too busy." First of all, you can tell us directly if you guys cant make it. Second, gimbap is known to be the staple of "fast food" and just because you guys are busy, you can't make it? My brother makes a comment and the cashier asks her mom (im guessing the owner) if they can make it for us and the mom agrees. This experience was already negative but oh well, they took our order so let's move on. Now the food review. Spicy rice cake tasted really good, the portion is enough for 1 person. Gimbap comes out and unlike the picture on the menu, there was only 1 row (6 pieces). We asked the waitress why the picture has 2 rows of the roll and she states that the picture is wrong and combo item only comes with 1 row of rolls. My brother's spicy squid with rice finally comes out and holy #$%^. I don't even know how they can mess this dish up. The entire dish tasted like an old wok. It had so much wok and gas taste on the food that it was difficult to eat. There was no taste of squid and strong cabbage taste with a strong scent of the wok. The ajumma waitress with glasses needs to take a chill pill and try not to show so much stress and exhaustion when shes running around serving people. First time and not the last time here.... food was really good. Rice was cooked perfectly. I got the beef and chicken teriyaki plate. Both meats were marinated perfectly. Not dry. The kids got the Ramyeon noodles and it was a hit! Good portions and good food. Can't beat the price. The atmosphere is very welcoming and down to earth. The servers are very friendly and also very attentive. This is a place that has an A+ service. One can only hope that it doesn't become too commercialized and loose it's service quality. This family owned restaurant has great service. Shoutout to the fam. I have been here a few times and the JaJangMyeon is A1. Also, the chicken bowl is value, a solid sized bowl for $3.99 plus tax. The Udon, which has an interesting twist on the traditional Japanese noodle dish is pretty bomb. Water is self serve with a dope machine. Also, you can pick up sauce and even take some sauce to go.
