Purchase a couple of pizzas this week and when we got the pizzas home and opened the boxes, one looked great, the other absolutely burned to a crisp. I don't know how in the world they could have sent it out the door. I want to like Otto in Yarmouth, but they keep tripping over themselves. The service is rough. The mistakes are often. I'm sorry, but for the price of premier pizza, they should be better. Whoever manages this store does his/her employees no favors. Hunting a place for a quick lunch as we traveled I295 heading from Maine to Massachusetts, Otto was a perfect stop. Easy off and easy on at exit 15. We were on the early side of lunch so parking was easy. We ordered a small meatball, ricotta and basil pizza and sat at the bar in the adjoining room. Nice, new, clean appearance to the room. Our server was very friendly and efficient. Pizza was perfectly cooked and the toppings were just right...not too little, not too much. A small pizza was plenty for the two of us. If I could rate it six stars I would because of the amazing service we received from Lauren. From the moment it was realized that we wanted to eat a slice while we waited for our Hot Honey/goat cheese/pepperoni to go , she escorted us to the restaurant side and had our order in within moments. We would have to wait for the individual slices of pepperoni with Jalapeños, so she brought out their mashed potato/bacon/scallions slice and the seasonal street corn style slice with cilantro (both freaking delicious) as a treat. The pizza, thin, crisp and just the right amount of chewiness. Bravo Otto on your hire of Lauren (so hard to find someone who goes above and beyond the call of duty) and on pizza well done! OTTO offers a clean, trendy eating experience with local beers on tap. The staff during my visit was incredibly friendly and the service was quick. I decided to go with the Margherita pie - which turned out to be a great decision. The pie featured an ultra-thin base that was browned nicely by the oven. The fresh, juicy tomatoes were well distributed and did not slide when eating slices. The crisp exterior on the thin crust added a great crunch. The fresh basil ribbons and the spicy herb blend added to the cheese carried a ton of flavor. There are many other pizza options available at OTTO, including gluten-free and vegan options. I will definitely be returning so that I can work my way through the rest of the pizza menu. read more

Traveling to Maine for the first time, we are looking for something to eat for lunch after landing at the airport and on our way to the LL Bean Store. As we were driving, we saw the sign and decided to stop in. I wasn't familiar with the place, but was up for trying something new. People we saw were friendly. When we first went in, there was a counter where you could order to-go or pick up an order. But we were looking to dine in. The dining area has about 10 tables as well as a bar. It wasn't busy but we arrived around 1:30 and ordered shortly after. Took about 15 minutes for a pepperoni pizza. It was hot and more of a thin crust, brick oven style. Really liked the taste. They have a variety of unique combinations, like potato bacon. Price seemed a little steep for a 12-inch pepperoni pizza at $15.50, so I wouldn't be looking to do this pizza for a group. But overall, I was happy that I found this place to try during my first visit to Maine. read more

I'm so disappointed in this location. Our pizza was cooked to annihilation and not edible at all, it was like chewing a rubber tire. It is disgraceful that they have a worker who thinks sending a pizza like this out the door is acceptable at all. No one should ever have to contact them about a pizza this terrible. It was also an hour late so to say it's disappointing when it arrived and we were starving is an understatement (it was the middle of the day on a random Tuesday! 2pm was expected time done. Was finished at 3:15!) They also never responded to my complaint and request for refund which now makes the company and not only the worker terrible. My wife and I have always enjoyed the pizza from Otto's but have never visited this location. The pizza here did not disappoint.... great crisp crust with delicious and unique toppings. Superb! This space is peculiar and confusing if you have never been before. If you enter from the side street it is hard to tell you are even in the right place. Once inside, you are greeted by a large sign for Andy's which is a corner store that also serves food which is the front of the establishment; a sign for Moxie groceries and another sign for the Gorham Savings Bank Community Board Room?! All of this was inside a room about the size of my living room. After dinner, we exited through the front and saw the Ottos kitchen area which made things a bit clearer, but still a weird set up. The service was a very friendly but a little strange. The young man asked us if we wanted plates or if we were "just going to eat it off the pan"? After returning with the requested plates, he asked us if we wanted silverware and napkins. Seriously, I have never been asked if I wanted utensils and a plate before. Though they were slammed with orders on Halloween, the staff of OTTO made two delicious pizzas - each crust was perfectly cooked (and we all liked the 'new' crust recipe). The mushroom, manchego, herb pizza was a hit with all three generations, and the Sriracha chicken with avocado was almost finished as well. I appreciate being able to have an easy dinner that allows us to focus upon our family and the holiday rather than being too busy cooking a meal on such a hectic day. Thank you! read more

The girl answering the phone kept putting me on hold in middle of taking my order and I just knew she was not paying attention. I clarified with her on what I wanted. My wife goes and picks up pizza and they sent home one that I did not order leaving out one I wanted. It was an expensive pizza for a small as it is and a 30 minute drive each way so no, I'm not driving all the way back because YOU screwed up and didn't care enough about your customer to listen to the order and get it right. Said manager would call me because I asked for a refund on the missing pizza. ( the wrong one they sent was a pizza i do not like at all otherwise I would just have grumpily eaten it). Manager NEVER gave the courtesy of a single call back. I called them again the next day. Was told AGAIN manager would call me. Yeah that NEVER happened. Will NEVER buy another Ottos product ever again. Extremely piss poor to not even call your customer back after they gave you money for a product that YOU got wrong. Clearly don't care. At all. Pizza itself is good for most part when they get it right however they are awful thin and light on toppings. Especially for a company that is one of the most expensive small pizzas in the entire region. Do yourself a favor and find somewhere else. Look at my reviews. Oh my god I love Otto, but I hadn't had it in about 5 years, since I was going to grad school in Portland (one of my professors used to order it for us on the last day of classes and got me hooked). I was so happy to see that the Yarmouth location delivered to Freeport, where I was staying, and happily ordered a mashed potato pizza, which, if I'm being honest, is the penultimate mashed potato pizza. Other places may have theirs, but Otto will always be the best mashed potato pizza ever to me. We also got the spicy pulled pork, pepperoni, bacon, and sausage pizza which was (yes, spicy) but really good. I'm used to New York style pizza and the Italian brick oven personal sized pizzas. I didn't expect much when I moved to Portland regarding pizza. It's simple to do, but so easy to mess up. Everyone ranted and raved about Otto's pizza. Considering it's a chain restaurant, I had extremely low expectations, but I still wanted to try it. Boy was I caught by surprise. I'm a carnivore - love meat, but I decided to go the eggplant, ricotta, basil route and holy cannoli - it was delicious. The sauce, the cheese, the texture - my taste buds were knocked for a loop. They didn't see it coming. I liked it so much that I finished half of a large pie on my own. What can I say, I like to keep my taste buds happy. I absolutely recommend Otto's. It's definitely a "must-try". It can get a little pricey after awhile, but I like to order it as a nice treat here and there. One person from our group ordered the chicken ceaser, the salad was super dry, we couldn't get any dressing because There was 1 bartender doing all of the tables in the dining room. So after waiting 50 minutes for a pepperoni pizza we decided to take the pizza to go because the rest of our group was finished eating.. I Will not be coming back and genuinely really like Otto's pizza, but this is the WORST Otto's Experience I've EVER been apart of. You might as well go to Romeo's If you want good service or if you really like Otto's pizza please go to any other establishment but this one. My husband, toddler and I were driving through Yarmouth and stopped to get their amazing pizza. I was so enthralled in the food that I forgot my cel there. The wonderful staff got in touch with my mom somehow and let us know. We were already an hour away so it was an impossible situation for us to turn back with a toddler. Their delivery driver Ava, offered to send it to our home in Boston on her day off. Sure enough early the next day we got the tracking number. We are so thankful. Servers are on the young and inexperienced side. Friendly, but not very professional. Our server got part of our order wrong and rather than just correct it he told us that he brought us what we ordered. Um, actually, no. We did not order what you brought because of a food allergy. I first discovered OTTO's in Portland, Maine! When I found out they were opening a branch in Newburyport, I was thrilled! There's nothing better than a double-dough, 4meat Pizza. OTTO's is definitely a staple in our home. I do wish I could find really good classic NY style pizza in Portland but OTTO for sure makes a great crispy crust and is very creative with their toppings. Personally I find the pizzas are a little hit or miss but once you find your favorites you'll probably keep going back like me. Hits: -Ricotta with bacon and jalapeño -Four cheese -Eggplant, basil and ricotta -Chicken, pear and fontina Basically anything with their ricotta topping is great as far as I'm concerned. Misses: -Mashed potato (I get that it's a fun thing, it just doesn't do it for me) -Tortellini suffers the same fate -Mango-habanero chicken and pineapple salsa (I think this one suffers the same fate that other reviewers have touched on with some of the pizzas. If you put too much on they lose their finesse and just become sloppy slabs of pizza but also being skimpy with the toppings can lead to a somewhat bland pizza) I will echo what other reviewers have also said that the actual experience at this location is not my favorite. The building is pretty confusing because it shares a space with another restaurant but there are really no signs that I could find making this clear. So you walk into the front door under the sign for OTTO's and you are actually entering a different restaurant. Additionally the staff there does some a little inexperienced/unprofessional. But then again it's a chain pizza place which is a common way for teenagers to get into the work space and I'm not going there expecting five star service. read more
