I went to outback on Saturday around 3.30 pm there weren't that many people which I liked. We ordered the bloomin onion, the seafood sampler trio and a French onion soup to start. The bloomin onion is huge and reminds me of onion rings. The sampler trio is in fact a sampler- the crab avocado stack was very very small but delicious and the ahi tuna was amazing as usual. The coconut shrimp had a sweet pineapple sauce that was really great! My boyfriend got the steak focaccia sandwich with au jus. He said he really enjoyed it. I got hamburger which seems pretty plain but it was really good and cooked exactly how I asked. The waitress provided excellent service and I was overall very pleased. read more

As with all Chains, service is inconsistent, some days the servers are fine, some days they seem like they don't even care. When it gets busy, (most nights) between 8-10 you can be stuck waiting for your waiter to take your drink order for 5 minutes or more. However, as a carnivore i love all their steak entrees and have never had a problem with my steak being overcooked (i like medium rare). read more

Who is still eating here?? I hadn't been to an Outback for about 20 years. Last night, we had a craving for an uncomplicated night out and some steak. We were incredibly disappointed right out of the gate. Their 'spinach dip' was a travesty, bland and oversalted - at the same time - which is some magic trick. Speaking of salt, you will get your month's quota for sodium during an average meal here. I'm assuming the 'chef' covers all of their subpar ingredients in salt to confuse the middle American taste buds that they're experiencing eating delicious food. My kids even complained that the chicken fingers off the kid's menu were too salty. The steaks are thin and, I assume, grade B beef--no marbling, lots of exterior fat, and chewy. Vegetable medley was cooked to a nursing home level. The decor is late 80's, dark and depressing. The waitress was charming, but we will NEVER venture back in time again. read more

What a great meal we had last night at Outback Steakhouse in Parsippany! From the appetizer (awesome chicken wings) to the salads to the entrees (ribeyes), everything was perfect. We were in the mood for steak & had never eaten at Outback before & decided to give it at try. Sorry but we won't be back for a second visit. My husband & I ordered the prime rib & we were disappointed. It had no flavor & was small. The mashed potatoes were so dry they were almost inedible. My son had the steak tips on the kids meal & I have to say that it tastes better than the prime rib. We are not a big fan of chain restaurants & it's hard to get a good steak. read more

Wow, what a disaster !! I one of 3% of people allergic to onions. I can eat food prepared with onion powder but eating into an onion will cause an immediate allergic reaction. I ordered potato soup and a medium steak. I let the waitress know I wanted no onions. She took the order and when the soup was delivered, the top was garnished with green onions. I waited for about 5 minutes and when no one came, I walked up to her near the bar and I then advised her I was allergic to onions and she said she would replace the bowl. I received the new bowl of potato soup and when I spooned out the soup, there were large onions in the potato soup. When she returned sometime later, I advised her the potato soup was loaded with onions ! I thought she would have known that but I let it go but here's where it gets amazing; she asked me if I would like to change my soup order to clam chowder or french onion !! I'm not kidding !! The last straw was my sirloin steak was absolutely burned and wasn't even close to medium. I took one bite and gave it up. I tip extremely well and this is the first time in years that I should not have left a tip but my wife made me give her a 10% tip for trying. This poor review is really against this location as we eat almost once a week at the outback steakhouse in Mission Viejo Calif. and the food is great. This is also the first time I deviated from a salad to soup so I was not aware the potato soup was loaded with large onions. This location needs to get their act together !! Hate the franchises, and the long lines, but the Victoria Filet at this place just melts in your mouth. I am a big fan of steak and went to most high end steak houses, so while it can't compete with service and ambiance of those steakhouses, the Victoria Filet has been very consistently a sumptuous treat. read more

I had such a horrible experience today during lunch.. I came here with my six other co-workers and was greeted by a nice gentlemen(our server). We explained that we're on our lunch break and would like our checks as soon as our food came out. We ordered our free blooming onion and enjoyed the bread and for over an hour no entrees. There was no manager in today, no hostess, no bartender. Just 2 servers. Our server disappeared multiple times and at some point when we found him he said our food was coming out. It was way too late to eat there so we asked him to pack it up. Unfortunately, it appears they must have been short staffed because it took him forever to pack our food. We waited another 15 minutes and decided to leave. We left $10 for the 3 sodas we ordered just out of courtesy. He also finally had the food packed when we were getting to our cars. We were 1 of 6 tables and we were definitely the largest party they had. We all ordered either sandwiches or apps, nothing too complicated. No meats to cook. It just made no sense. We know it takes time there (not acceptable, they are just generally slow) We obviously will not come back to this location. I witnessed an older couple wait 10 minutes at the door to be seated. Let me start by saying the food was delicious and the waitress was really good. No complaints there. However, at 6:35 I put my name on their waitlist online, so that I wouldn't have to wait long once I arrived. No such luck. Checked in at the podium at 7:10 and didn't get seated until 7:53. A 43 minute wait when they were telling people who walked up that the wait was 30 minutes. What good is the waitlist if it DOUBLES your wait time. If I had driven to the restaurant at 6:35, I would have been finishing dinner at 7:53 instead of just getting seated. When I've used Longhorn's wait list online, I waited a maximum of 5 minutes to be seated. read more

This place has really gone downhill. Ordered the steak sandwich and it was super skimpy and mostly bread. Wanted the sweet potato on the side which was a premium side which means I was paying close to $16 for both. Not to mention the sweet potato was the smallest I've seen. Tons of fruit flies buzzing around us, two mops right near the table and everything felt sticky. Service was great but definitely not ever going back. We have been here several times over the past 10 - 15 years. In general, we have always had a good experience. The service at our last visit (yesterday) was above an beyond expectations. Our server was very attentive, but not obtrusive. The only complaint I had was about my steak, which was significantly overcooked. I mentioned this to her, not so much as to complain but just in reaction to her checking how everything was. I told her it was fine, and I would still have it (this is the first time I experienced this issue at Longhorn). She immediately brought over the manager, who was very apologetic, and insisted on taking the cost of the steak off of our bill. Now that is customer service the way it should be!!! I did not make a "big deal" at all about the cook of the steak, but he insisted on this. In general, I have liked the steaks there. You get what you pay for...not the top quality of steaks, but the quality is consistent with the pricing...which is all you should expect. I almost always enjoy our meals there, which is why we keep returning, and will continue to do so. read more

Probably our last time coming to this restaurant. Came in last night, haven't been here in awhile and now I remember why. We were sat in the bar area, all of 3 tables were taken in there. The rest of the restaurant had about 8-10 taken, if that. We waited a good 10 mins to be greeted by the waitress. We ordered everything in one shot (2 beers, kids meals, 2 appetizers, soup, and 2 lobster tails). The drinks came out, the one app came out (blooming onion was actually very good, compared to soggy or old oil tasting we've had in the past), about 15 mins later the kids meals came out (still no soup, and still no waitress), and our drinks have been empty for quite a bit now. Soup comes out about 15 more mins later, and then the lobster. Still no appetizer #2. We finally flag down a food runner & they go off to look for it. Turns out it was thrown in a to-go box for someone at the Carry Out on accident. At this point, it's almost 90 minutes later and we just didn't even want it. We never saw our waitress, our beers were empty for a solid 45 minutes. The manager came over & comped both appetizers, should have comped round 2 on beers since we had to practically go to the bar ourselves to ask for another as nobody was tending to our table. I saw the manager popping by a few tables throughout with various customers complaining about their meals. Extremely poor service - I can understand if they're busy, but there was nobody in there! Their food is lackluster compared to the other steakhouses in the area- and their service has gotten worse & worse. And they didnt ask for my Dine Rewards and I completely forgot because we were so aggravated from dinner - so now there goes that reward bonus even if I wanted to use it! read more

I had a great experience -- we came Sunday night and the steak was perfectly cooked rare just as I like it. The service was fantastic.

The other day, my underage daughter ordered a non-alcoholic drink. Both my daughter and wife had a few sips and immediately began to feel dizzy and became flushed. They are both highly sensitive to alcohol. My intelligent and beautiful wife asked the waitress if there was alcohol in the drink. Her response was "no" and she just laughed it off. The way the waitress treated my wife was disrespectful. What made the situation even worse was that she charged us for the drink. My wife and daughter felt terrible and had headaches that night. We have been to many restaurants and we can compare this restaurant to others. When similar problems arose, other restaurants have apologized to us and admitted their mistakes immediately. Additionally, these restaurants offered us free drinks and deserts. Although we were not looking for money or free food, we greatly appreciated their gestures. We declined their offers, but they didn't charge for the dessert anyway. We did not get the same gesture from either the waitress or the manager at this restaurant when we brought the issue to them. They only said sorry. It is too bad that we liked this restaurant until this happened. Hopefully, they will learn from their mistakes. read more

This place is ridiculous. Went here on lunch this week and walked out after almost an hour of waiting on our meals. We told the waiter that we were on our lunch hour and to please bring the check out with our meals. If we were given an update on whether the food was going to take some time or be out soon then we wouldn't have walked out. There was no one on the floor most of the time, my coworker was going to walk into the kitchen but the waiter popped out. we told the waiter that we needed our food packed up because we don't have time to eat it. Another 15 minutes went by and we had enough. We left enough money to cover for the drinks we ordered. Never going back to this location again. I don't understand why it's extremely slow, especially when it's empty. I don't recommend going here on lunch. There are better restaurants nearby. read more

Do not use their curbside pick up. The three times we ordered, our food order was either incorrect, rung up incorrectly or the one time they dropped one of our meals on the floor. Very rarely do I write reviews, especially a month after the fact. But this just ate away at me for some reason, so I decided to post something about it. Back in July, while I was traveling for work, I had a hankering for a steak. Staying in a hotel, by myself, I decided to order online and pick it up. I ordered a rare steak and put in the notes "as rare as possible". Drive myself over and the nice girl at the pick up handed me my food. I decided to check the steak while I was there (for the correct temp). I pushed down on it with my finger and it felt way more done than rare. So I ripped it open. It was basically medium well. So I run in and ask for a new steak. The girl says "no problem!" It was hot in the waiting room, so I said I was going to just wait in my car. That's when the active manager comes out and tells me the steak is "more like medium rare". Well let me tell you something buddy. If it was more like medium rare, I would have let it slide. I have been cooking in restaurants for over 12 years, I have a bachelors in culinary arts and nutrition and I know what a medium rare steak looks like. But I didn't say any of that. I just said "ok, but that's not what I ordered." And he just said "Well what is it that you want then?" Obviously a rare steak? Like I ordered. Why am I getting attitude as a customer when my steak was over cooked? When I drove a half an hour to get a steak? I'm basically writing this because I didn't appreciate having someone come out to my car and argue with me about what I ordered. Even IF the steak was medium rare, I ordered a rare steak and therefore should have had no argument whatsoever. It pissed me off. I'm almost 30 years old, but I look young. So maybe he thought it was ok to argue with a young girl. Maybe he thought I just didn't know what I was talking about and didn't feel like having the kitchen make me what I ordered. Who knows. I just wanted to write this to tell you that you can't judge a book by its cover. You wouldn't know by looking at me that I've been cooking in restaurants since I was 16 years old. I've been at this place 3 times and every time it was great! The menu is really diverse and when you look at the pictures you want to try everything. I usually take ribay stake, fries and I highly recommend to try sautéed mushrooms + glass of wine. They also have great combos: meat and lobster tail.
