We had a giftcard and decided to come here about 5pm on Sunday. We've been to Outback many times before and have always liked it, but we have been trying to check out other options especially local to the area. We took a seat at a booth in the bar and were provided both the regular and specials menu. The standard pumpernickel bread and sweet butter was brought to our table as well. We each ordered a beverage and we chose to get the bloom petals appetizer. It's about half the price and size of the Bloomin Onion, which is perfect for the two of us. We usually end up throwing away about half of the Bloomin Onion because we can't eat it all. When the drinks and appetizer arrived we also placed our order. My wife ordered the Queensland chicken and shrimp pasta and I chose the Steakhouse Philly. Yep go figure, it's one of my standard go to items! Our meals arrived in a timely manner and looked delicious! Everything tasted very good and we had leftovers to take home. My wife and I both commented to each other about how good the service was. Ben who was working the bar area and took care of us and did an amazing job. We felt like we didn't have to ask for anything. Like I said we have been here before and we will be back again. 8:00pm on a Monday evening. Two cars in the parking lot. Maybe two or three tables occupied. I travel ALOT for work all over the US, so I've been to many Outback's. Walked in, sat at the bar and waited for the bartender to finish her conversation before greeting me, the customer. Food: has steadily declined at Outback's over the past few years. I specifically ask for "easy" seasoning on my filet because I don't like a lot of salt. I couldn't finish a 6 oz. Steak because it was too salty. No HB eggs in the salad and large core pieces of the lettuce head to fill space. The fries were good. Service: the service was fine, as long as the bartender was finished her conversation with the wait staff. That seemed to be the priority over refilling drinks or noticing my empty beer glass - until I ask for a refill. Ambiance: peaceful, due to the lack of customers. This by far has collectively been the best experience we've ever had at an Outback Steakhouse. We are usually on the larger size (10 ppl) when we dine out/ eat in and that can be overwhelming to some waitresses. We had the pleasure of having Bria S. as our waitress. Bria greeted us upon arrival and did not appear to be taken aback by how large of a group we were. She paid special attention to the fact that we had two very small children seated with us and took care not to place our drinks, silverware or food within their reach. After our orders were placed, we asked to change an order placed for our son if it weren't too late. Bria spoke with her manager and arranged to have it switched out. What stuck out to us was how Bria still considered our small child and sent out a complimentary side of fruit since the meal change did not come with one. I found Bria to be two steps ahead of all our requests. She anticipated our needs and was able to effectively and efficiently meet our needs. Our requests were met with understanding and handled in a timely manner. Bria tended to our tables (one table for adults and one for children) with ease and treated everyone respectfully. I am beyond pleased with our experience and we are grateful for Bria's attentiveness. Having a great, thoughtful, timely waitress is the best part and most important part of a dining experience. The steak was cooked to perfection. The wings were so delicious and flavorful. The wings were by far a hit for everyone! The best we've had an any Outback from Reno- California. The shrimp was well seasoned and tender. All food arrived hot. The children's meals were brought out warm (perfect) and ready to eat. All meals arrived within minutes of each other allowing us to eat together. I found this establishment to be in compliance with the mandated orders regarding Covid procedures. Stopped by to enjoy some dinner with friends on my birthday. We were served by Brie and it was by far the best service we've ever had. Anything we needed, she was on top of it. Drinks running low? Not today! She was quick, efficient & didn't skip a beat. She had us smiling, and laughing the entire evening. We didn't realize they closed at 9pm on Sundays and stayed a little passed closing. Violent food poisoning after eating the salmon. I have never been so sick in my life.

Sunday evening we decided to order some take out. We placed our order online and once my friend got there to pick it up there was still a huge wait. When we got the food home it was discovered that the request we had made for the salad were completely ignored. But the worst part was they gave us a baked potato that was. It edible. You can see that the potato was bad and had been bad for a while. It not only had a weird smell but looked horrible. We came last night for my teen's birthday. Haven't been to an Outback in years. The staff was very nice. Easy to get a table at 5:30 on a Friday night but it was very crowded by 6:30. Our steaks were a bit overcooked - we ordered medium to medium rare - and they were well to medium-well. They were still tasty, just a little tough. Everything else was delicious. I need to say first that we had great service. Logan was attentive, polite and friendly. The food was was cooked perfectly. Our issue is the enormous prices. We are in the bar. The drink prices were over the top. A drink (admittedly it was a double) was $17.50. A 9 Oz glass of very mediocre Chardonnay was 13.50. The entrees were privets as well. Never been to Outback but judging by the reviews this location in Reno is consistently good! We've come here twice in two weeks and both times were superb. Good service, the dining room never seems too busy, and great food. Brussel sprouts and battered mushrooms. Blooming onion. And of course steaks, cooked perfect. One of my new favorite restaurants in Reno now. I've only taken one photo of the mushrooms and that was when we were halfway through them, you get tons of mushrooms! We like to eat them with the steaks. Very happy with our experiences here so far. They also offer a military discount, 15% off which was great, but our second visit was 10%. Outback Steakhouse has been a staple in my life for the better part of the last 25yrs. It's my Mom's favorite place to go. From the excellent service to the warm bread a butter. You cant really go wrong with any dish here and I have tired most of them, steaks always cooked to perfection. We arrived at the restaurant at 2pm on a weekend, so the restaurant only had a couple of customers. Strangely, it took several minutes for the staff to even notice we were there waiting to be seated. Service was otherwise fine after that. My sister and I were celebrating our birthdays. The server provided us with complimentary ice cream sundaes which was a nice surprise! I had the appetizer seared Ahi tuna which was so very delicious-melt-in-your-mouth tender and cooked rare as I liked it. The outback goes back a ways as in age and has gone through many changes good and bad over the years. I haven't tried it since the pandemic and this is the first time I've been back in years. I know about 4+ years ago they had some issues with food quality but today they seemed to have conquered those issues. We went here for a dinner and with the capacity limits we had to make a reservation for 530 sat night. We were seated near the bar and all staff followed Covid requirements. Our waiter was also the bartender and he was excellent. I ordered the sirloin 9oz with a lobster tail. Food was quick we waited less than 5 min. Preparation was well and food was warm and fresh. COVID-bust! Good luck knowing whether you are actually going to be seated or not. We accessed the waitlist 45 mins prior to leaving, and it said "No wait! Come one in!" We checked again up arrival, and it was a 5-10 mins wait. Sure, no problem. Checked in and received 2 texts immediately. The first one confirming our addition to the waitlist, and the second one saying "they could not fill our request at this time." I went in for clarification, and the hostess said they had no open reservations for 2 more hours. When you're explained the messages we received from their online waitlist platform, she said, "yeah, our online system just isn't reliable." So......thanks for nothing. We went here yesterday 03/24/2023. We ordered two appetizers and four meals. Two of the meals were the Alice Spring Chicken. One was eaten there and one was for takeout. The dinner eaten in the restaurant was tough in the middle, so my wife just ate around the outside and left the middle. The one we took home turned out to have melted plastic in the middle. So it turns out the one in the restaurant had plastic also. We spent a total of $175 for the dinner and the two chicken dinners were $44. I called the restaurant and talked to the manager. He all but called me a liar, he didn't believe me. I told him several times what happened and he kept twisting my words. I didn't ask him for anything, I wanted him to know there was a problem. Came into dinner last night with my fiancé for his Father's day dinner, (He worked Sunday so we celebrated on Monday...) we were sat immediately and our server, Chelsea, asked us what we wanted to drink and ran to get them. We studied our menus that have some new, moonshine BBQ sauce additions... which is out of this world by the way, the BBQ sauce itself I mean. Chelsea returned quickly with our drinks and some warm bread. I love their bread, however my stomach has been acting up lately, therefore I was only able to eat 1/2 a loaf of the stuff instead 4 or 5 rolls all by myself LOL! Ok, I don't eat that much, but this bread is different than most restaurants. It is a honey wheat bread and it is out of this world, so I usually eat more than I should! It took some serious litigation and debating, however we finally came to a decision on what we wanted to order. I asked Chelsea about the grilled Salmon, things like what cut was it, (fillet or steak) and how many ounces. She told me it was a steak and it was around 7 or 8 ounces, and while the size was correct, she said it was a salmon steak...I was given a fillet, which is in my opinion, being that size, an even better cut of salmon! So getting that nice big Salmon fillet on my plate was a pleasant surprise! It was cooked absolutely perfectly, not a dry piece in sight, perfect diamond grill marks, and the veggies were buttery and delicious!!! Over all my dinner was simply AMAZING. The fiancé ordered one of their new combo plates consisting of three ribs,(Very meaty by the way) a chicken breast, and bacon wrapped shrimp with French fries, all smothered in their moonshine BBQ sauce! Quite honestly, they could slather that stuff on a shoe and I'd eat it because it is just that tasty! Towards the end of the evening, I even discovered a very good, old friend of mine working there named Sheldon. He walked by our table and I stared as he walked by LOL..."Sheldon?" I quietly yelled as he walked by praying it was really him (I haven't seen him in years) with the back-up plan of hiding in the tall backed booths if it wasn't him! It was, and it was nice seeing an old friend! Chelsea was a great server and our night was awesome, but I will be asking for Sheldon anytime I come in now, because we go way back...and he is hilarious too!! If I could give 10 negative stars I so would!! Thank you so very much for ruining Mother's Day!! Ordered at 5pm for a 640pm pickup time. My husband got there at 650. We kept calling because he didn't want to get out since there was a lot of people. We were both calling for over half an hour. He finally gets so frustrated he gets out and finds a team member. Other people were waiting for almost 2 hours!! He finally gets our food and brings it home which is only 10 minutes away.... Steaks were ordered medium, we got them seared on the outside, still alive on the inside. Mashed potatoes looked like a half portion. My lobster tails were cold, tough and shrivled. The food was sitting for so long, the 1 teaspoon of butter I got for my 2 lobster tails hardened. My coconut shrimp was also cold and soggy. My 3 year olds cheese burger was hard and her fries cold and soggy. And to top it off she never got her Apple juice either. Wish i could call and get a refund for this horrible food but they don't even know how to answer the phone. If my phone didn't die from calling over and over, I would've took pictures of this massacre of a dinner. And I know it's Mother's Day and it's busier than usual but if your FOH staff can't keep up with orders, you shouldn't take that many orders! read more

I went to Outback Steakhouse, Reno, NV this evening because the menu sounded great and I was in the mood for a steak. I chose the prime rib that is seared on the grill with some spices. It tasted okay, but I would not get it again. I prefer the customary type of prime rib. About 45 to 60 minutes after I left the restaurant, I started having pretty intense abdominal cramps followed by diahrrea. I have not had such a bad experience in a long time. I will not go there again. My rating is one star because of food poison. read more

I have never eaten at this location. My review is strictly on the experience I had tonight with an employee and manager. I went in tonight to pick up an order and waited in pick up area (I guess) but peeled around the corner and saw my order so I stood next to it with my 10 yr old son with my phone open as sign said they needed to verify my order. An employee comes up and right away is talking to me in a very rude way which is immediately making me feel akward. Long story short apparently we weren't supposed to wait next to order even though it was ready and we were only there seconds. Ok! I get that. My bad but after I told her Sorry, I didn't know and took the food and started to walk away, I heard her say F-ing B$#@&. I said excuse me? But she had walked off and thinking maybe I heard her wrong I asked my son did you just hear her call me something and he said yeah F-ing B. Wow! Are you serious?I didn't deserve any of that and especially in front of a child. Called manager immediately. He did apologize and also said he'd be investigating what happened even though I just told him and WHY she said that to me. What do you mean why????? Is there any reason she should have?? Outback is Outback, been around forever. Not the best steaks but quick and affordable. I have had good and bad experiences coming here lately. Last time I was here and the steak was perfect!! This time around not so perfect, I always order my steaks medium, but this one was still mooing and the rub they had on it was way to spicy for me and I like spice but this, nope! My sister ordered the Chicken Salad which was also so spicy she couldn't eat it. Bread hasn't changed in years and that's a great thing cause it's my favorite!! Our waiter was super nice and I know he didn't cook our meals but he was kind enough to comp a dessert for us. The establishment is always clean and not too noisy. I think most Yelpers don't really do a lot of reviews on chain restaurants. Sometimes they are just what you're in the mood for. Outback Steakhouse is a pretty consistent chain with generally very good food. The Reno location has been consistent over the years, but recently we've been revisiting it and very happy with our experiences. The filet is good quality, about medium rare is perfect, the baked potato is fresh and a good quality, the brown bread was perfectly cooked and they are always nice salads. We split the entree and get an extra salad, still plenty for us. The wine list is fairly priced and fine, like the Shiraz or the Pinot Noir. Our server Cameron tonight was excellent, attentive, and engaging with a nice sense of humor. Thanks for adding to the evening Cameron, excellent job! We have been making regular visits to the Outback after church on Sundays. We have had excellent service every time. The staff is friendly and gets the order correct. I have dietary restrictions and they make sure my needs are met. The food is always hot and service professionally. I really enjoy going to lunch and knowing I'm going to be taken care of. The steaks are very nicely marbled and thick and juicy. The ribs are oh so yummy with lots of meat on the bone! The chicken is really good too. I haven't tried very many things because it's all so good not sure if the other items can match up to the steak and ribs. I'd imagine the pulled pork would be delicious too. It sure looks yummy. I'm trying it next. Their house salad is so good! It's big and has all the fixings even hard boiled egg in it. We love coming to this location in Reno on Virginia Street. The service and food are always consistently great! My husband and I came in on Saturday, July 30th for lunch.
