    Outback was busy last night. We were however seated immediately. Elias our server checked in with us right away. We ordered our drinks while studying the menu. We ordered the blooming onion, shrimp on the Barbie and wedge salad while enjoying the complimentary bread and butter. Elias was great. Checking in on us regularly. The food is always great. We shared the items but still didn't have room for dessert. And their desserts are epic. The staff was very friendly and welcoming.

    Out on a dinner date with my husband - Decided to go to Outback. It has been a while since we had been here. The restaurant was busy but there was no waiting to be seated. It was a quiet evening. We ordered drinks...blueberry desert pear burst, and smoked old fashion And for food we decided to share a dinner since we don't eat as much as we used to and we wanted to try one of their desserts... So we got the ribeye and grilled shrimp combo With a salad and loaded baked potato The ribeye & shrimp were cooked perfect and the baked potato was delicious as well. The salad was nice...need more tomatoes. I prefer hard boiled egg & shredded carrots-no cheese instead, but it was good. We had room for dessert so we tried the Chocolate Thunder from down under...it was melt in your mouth yummy!! Our server was great- Bri! Thank you for your kindness and help in making our evening enjoyable.

    It's been a couple years since I've been here. So many options in Reno. It's hard to revisit some places. But my wife and I had a wonderful evening. Bree was our waitress . She was extremely nice and entertaining. Sometimes you go out on a date night with your wife and you want some privacy, sometimes you want some entertainment. Bree seem to realize that we wanted some entertainment lol. What we ordered: Smoked whiskey, old-fashioned Castaway cocktail Ribeye steak with a baked potato Salad Chocolate thunder under down under The food was out pretty quick and I gotta tell you for the price. It is one of the best steaks around. There was a time when outback was the most expensive place to eat, but post Covid. They did not raise the prices as much as other places so now it is a cost-effective place to go for dinner. I highly recommend this place and ask for Bree as she's a great waitress

    One of very few restaurants open till 10 PM! Was perfect after our late event at the convention center. Sat in the bar area and was able to order quickly. We had the baked potato soup, wedge salad with ranch dressing, grilled salmon with rice and mashed potatoes and also the mac & cheese. Everything was beyond delicious and Logan P our waiter was very attentive and excellent! They also have easy kiosk at the table where you can order more items as well as review your check and cash out quickly. Everything was fabulous and hit the spot and would definitely recommend!

    It was nice and calm when we entered as it was so early. Place was very clean Our waitress was really sweet. I forget her name. Went and tried the new steak & cheese dip. Its actually ground steak which I loved. Was full of flavor. Love the tomato's and green onions added on top.. This is 1 I would come back for again. Hubby enjoyed a house salad with double ranch. Of course the bread and a couple adult beverages. Absolutely love this place.

    Value and Excellent Service coupled with great soups & salads makes it a perfect lunch spot. I tried the coconut shrimp and it was perfect. Aaron is an amazing server with a sense of humor, but he only works lunch.

    So I decided for 2026 that I wanted to revisit some of the locations I hadn't been to in a long time. Today we decided to revisit the Outback steakhouse in Reno, located off of South Virginia between Moana and Peckham. There is ample parking both in front of the restaurant and a large parking lot behind it. Upon arrival we were greeted by the hostess, who quickly directed us to our seat, the service is very good as our waiter was attentive to our needs. We ordered the Ahi sashimi appetizer, unfortunately not pictured. She ordered the teriyaki steak skewer, medium rare and mashed potatoes along with the potato soup. I ordered the Delmonico ribeye with baked potato and French onion soup. Everything was has expected, the food was good, cooked as ordered. We both commented that it really hadn't changed since the last time we were there which was many years ago, it was nice to see the consistency. The ambience is Outback, that is the same regardless where you go. At the end of the day if you're looking for a reasonably priced and good quality product this is a place to try.

    Service with a smile is an understatement here. We loved our time from the moment the host greeted us right up until we walked out the door, and it's all credit to the exceptional staff! We came in last Friday around 630, 3 adults and two kids (3.5 and 6.5), and the little ones were famished after a long day at school. Sensing this, the host offered some crayons and kids menus and engaged the kids in a coloring contest and they took to it! Shifted the wait from what would've been intolerable, into enjoyable! Our server was also incredible from the start. She was smiling, seemed genuinely happy to be serving and providing guests with a great experience, and she was authentic in her approach and engaged with everyone at the table. I went for the coconut shrimp and sirloin. The 9oz was a bit much after the wedge salad and famous brown bread, but they cooked it very nicely and the marinade is sweet and tasty. Loaded baker was a good choice for the side and I liked the salted skin. Kids had cheeseburger and mac n cheese, both slightly above average in quality, and both enjoyed by the boys. Overall a better experience than I expected. Food ok but service really sets this place apart.

    I ordered the secret menu Aussie 3-course meal, and it was perfect. Everything was well made and exactly what I expected. The place itself is a bit old, and the restrooms aren't the nicest, but the staff truly makes a difference. The workers are very kind, attentive, and welcoming, which really elevates the experience. Because of the service and consistency, I always come back.

    The food and the service was 10/10! Our waiter was super friendly and came by often to check on us. The food was tasty, came out to order and we had no complaints. The restaurant was clean and had plenty of seating.

This is a good place to go if you're looking for a nice steak at a fair price that won't suck your wallet dry.

We ended up going somewhere else later that evening to actually get some food we could eat. I'm really sad that this meal went so poorly when we were trying to celebrate a birthday. We will never be going to this restaurant again. Additional after the fact, the sign outside that advertises the business has been broken for months. One would think that if you were a serious business that you would want to fix that. It reflects on your image. It makes me sad too, because they are right across the street from the Peppermill and they could be getting so much business.

I got mine with caramelized onions, baked potato, and fresh veggies. We both got it medium rare. She got hers topped with Point Reyes Blue Cheese crumbles. Her daughter got Filet of Petrale Sole Meuniere. First came a basket of bread. But, two of us are gluten-free. The Waiter made a point to check with the kitchen on all our meals. The steak came out smelling like garlic. It looked so much better than the picture I posted. It was so tender it cut with a butter knife. The color of the steak inside was perfect medium rare. The flavor on the taste buds is what dreams are made of. Some meals we remember for a lifetime. Because every bite is just that scrumptious. I can still almost taste it by just thinking about it. For dessert, we got the classic Bananas Foster, which is made tableside. It is dinner and a show. Bananas Foster is such a decadent treat. The show begins with the melting of the butter, and the aroma will still your breath away. Then add in the brown and white sugars. Several alcohols are used. I believe they use Banana liquor as well as rum. Then a fire is lit in the pan. It sparks when the cinnamon is added. Then the bananas are cooked ever so lightly. Sometimes, too much liqueur is added, and the flavor is off. However, on this night, it was spot on. The sugars and liqueur create a caramel sauce for the bananas, and vanilla ice cream is added. The ice cream that was used tasted like a French Vanilla ice cream with little flecks of vanilla. Each bite was a walk on a cloud. My friends had never had Bananas Foster before. I think they will be back if only for the Bananas Foster. The bananas and caramel with a kiss a vanilla ice cream just send your taste buds to heaven. Each bite will have you desiring more, even if you are beyond full. Each bite is so divine. It tastes so decadent that your mind will be blown that it is bananas and vanilla ice cream. It wasn't until I asked if we could just sit down and we would wait for the service even if they were behind at that point, they allowed us to sit at the bar and we were waited on right away with no issue. Adrian knows us and we are very good customers there. I think some things changed in management, Kevin the waiter who has been there since it opened is no longer there and you could feel a different vibe going on in the restaurant. The happy hour menu has changed and my husband's favorite Chardonnay is no longer included, but Adrian bought him a lovely Cabernet Sauvignon Blanc which was very tasty for $8. Adrian is a wonderful bartender and we enjoy his service! Sad to hear Jenna moved on too! Why is it all the good people leave, but then you have Quincy at the chandelier bar yelling at customers, not serving customers, telling you he won't serve her until it's convenient for him. The eating area is very spacious and commodious. Though this place has a casual vibe, the presentation of the food is totally fine-dining material. Each dish, especially the Citrus glazed salmon, is served as a piece of art. I've been here around three times before I installed yelp, and am excited to finally leave a review. The short rib, was absolutely amazing. The short rib was so tender, and each brussels sprout was a literal flavor bomb. The brussels sprouts I've had at other places have flavor only on the exterior, whereas the brussels sprouts here play a different game. The short rib is served in a really big portion. Though it may look dark from the photos, there are actually three big pieces. I loved loved loved the sauce; there's a sweet tangy taste to it, though it reminded me a lot of BBQ sauce. This short rib was a win. Chefs kiss. The truffle lasagna was terrific; so much sauce in between the lasagna layers. I could absolutely make out the truffle flavor in this dish. However, I recommend eating this dish quickly, as the lasagna stiffens really quickly. Thirty minutes after it was served, I went it to take another bite, and it wasn't as good anymore. The ceasar salad +beef is a great choice for a light but filling meal when you're currently on a healthy diet. Each dish here comes in giant portions, but even after you finish this salad, it won't feel too heavy on your body. I think it's because Washoe is really light on the dressing levels; perfecting the amount so it doesn't overtake the fresh flavor of the greens or leave the salad bland and insipid. However, the beef was a bit too well done and on the firmer side. Our most recent visit was dinner to celebrate our 47th wedding anniversary. It still maintains it's casual atmosphere. The entrance has shifted to the Ridge Street side of the building. A good decision. It always felt a bit cramped to check in in the bar area especially when they are busy. Dining area is now mostly in the back room. While the setting is casual, the food is upscale - including the burgers. They offer game meats, elk, kangaroo, venison, and wild boar, in addition to high end beef and a small selection of seafood. They also have a few vegetarian/vegan options. I had the Citrus Glazed Salmon with root vegetables and squash. It was very good. The salmon was fresh and and flaky and perfectly cooked. My husband had the Rock Candy Short Rib. He deemed it "acceptable" Mine was paired with a light dry Savengon Blanc. Service was good and our satisfaction was checked. I debated between a 4 or 5 star experience - I decided on 5 mostly due to the quality of the meal. Return visit? Yes.
