Had the most pleasant experience at Outback in Sunrise, Fl the other night June 6th. My boyfriend and I chose to sit at the bar, our usual go to spot for our dining experiences. While he arrived before me, the bartender was quick to get started with his drink order, appetizer and a round of bread and when I arrived a couple minutes behind, the bartender greeted me and speedily got my drink as well. We started with the steakhouse Mac and cheese bites which were melt in your mouth delicious. For entrees we selected the bone in rib-eye with loaded baked potato and mushrooms and the new Tasmanian lobster and shrimp Alfredo. Our server/bartender made sure to double check if we were okay with the spice since it was a spicy meal, and even went ahead and brought over a glass of water with the meal just in case. But we like spice so no issues with that. She was attentive and provided excellent service to us both even while having tables in the surrounding section as well. Restaurants need more staff members like her and we appreciate the pleasant experience. Overall the restaurant wasn't super busy, being as it was the last hour before closing but it did have a laid back atmosphere which just made dining out a more relaxed and enjoyable experience. I went to this location tonight with family and friends and had an issue with my bill so I asked to speak with a manager. Substitute manager KRISTEN came to my table for about 20 seconds and only said there is nothing I can do and walked away before I said anything. It's not about the money but the attitude I received from her. I paid the bill and left but did call the location hoping we could have a conversation. Nope, KRISTEN finally answer my call after five attempts just to hear her say. No customers have left my restaurant unhappy tonight and hung up on me. Placed a Togo lunch order and received an email stating it would be ready between 12:25-12:30. I arrived 12:28 parked for out and walked up to the Togo door to see a sign saying "do not enter due to social distancing. We will be right with you." I stood there for about 7mins no one came out and I didn't see anyone inside the restaurant. I walked to the front doors and they were locked. Didn't have a lot of expectations for outback but everything was really good! Husband loves the blooming onion. I wanted to skip it just because I know we were going to get so full and I wanted to eat my dinner. You get a lot of bang for your buck here you will leave stuffed! A review of an Outback Steakhouse? I know. But hear me out: The cut of Prime Rib you get, for the price, is phenomenal. I'm surprised Outback has Prime Rib of this quality and size. Each time I come here I order it and it's always been excellent paired with an order of their sauteed mushrooms. Seriously, Prime Rib. Do it. Hubby picked up dinner from the Outback. I ordered online - it was easy. They offer additional items ( think crab cake, sauces, lobster tails, etc.) for nearly everything. It was effective (I added a crab cake and onion petals because of their upselling)! Hubby picked up the food that was promised at 7:08. They were 18 minutes late in delivering the meal to his car. But the order was complete and packed well so they get points for that. They are well-practiced in packing orders to go and delivering it to your car. Their curbside pick up service lets you just pull up to the front of the restaurant and wait in your car for your meal. I just felt that the food is mediocre. It tastes like institutionalized, processed food. The Great Barrier appetizer trio had soft, bready coconut shrimp, mushy almost-fishy crab salad with very fresh avocado and see-thru slices of tuna tataki that was sticky and dehydrated. We ordered the 12 ounce prime rib "wood-fire" grilled and mid-rare. It was good. Not juicy and it lacked jus but it tasted good. Yawn. We ordered the rib eye "seasoned and seared", mid-rare. It too lacked juiciness and the end of it was cooked to medium temp so part of it tasted gray. The onion petals were likely bits of Bloomin Onion that fell from the onion base during cooking. They were just meh. The mac and cheese was good, as was the baked and mashed loaded potatoes. Just nothing was better than good. By good I mean it didn't taste bad so by default it was good. Frankly, I think mediocre is more accurate. But not the carrot cake. That's delicious. Go here for that. read more

Service was very good. Staff polite and efficient. Our server Jeff was helpful and patient. Two of us had the Special with four courses: soup, salad, steak with a side, and cheesecake for desert. My potato soup with bacon bits, scallions, and more taste delicious. The lettuce wedge was dressed with blue cheese dressing and baby tomatoes. Crisp and delicious. A perfectly cooked nine ounce sirloin paired with a loaded sweet potato was the worthy main course. The small slice of cheesecake drizzled with caramel was the perfect ending. I would recommend this to any friend looking for an enjoyable meal. Two years later, we had a series of less than wonderful meals. The service was still good but the food quality declined. I have some friends that have talked about how bad the service has gotten at this particular location for some time and they kept trying it, but now they have sworn if off & refuse to go here anymore....I now see why. Dear Outback Corporate you might want to take a look at this operation and see if you can give it a facelift ASAP. I have lived in Plantation for many a year and I remember when this location opened. When I was little, for "special" occasions we would go here to eat... I even remember I used to get the Alice Springs Chicken no mushrooms. I digress. We went last week, it was my mother's birthday eve, and b/c it was in a convenient meeting location I decided to meet the rents for dinner. My parents were up at the bar when I walked in (around 6:35 pm) and were interested in grabbing a first-come, first-serve table by the bar. I sat down and waited a bit to be greeted by a bartender (and by a bit I mean like 5 mins) I asked him what kind of red wine they had by the glass...or what would he recommend...or what he had opened that day. He didn't know...he didn't know what kind of red wine they had, he rattled off a couple that were no longer on the menu, and had a hard time giving me a suggestion. Now I get it, but it's a steakhouse...you should know your red wine...especially when there's only 6 selections on the menu. After about 15 mins I figured nobody was getting up so I might as well grab a beeper...I was quoted a 25 minute wait on a Wednesday night with clearly open seats towards the back of the restaurant. I thought to myself "they must be in the weeds"...and they were. Our table was finally ready and we sat down. Pops ordered another beer, moms ordered coffee, and I sipped on my second blah selection of red wine. We looked around the restaurant and there wasn't a single server to behold, in fact nobody that worked there was on the floor, it was the oddest thing I have ever seen, all tables sitting down, no waitstaff? huh? Our waitress finally arrived, she was very nice, she was definitely in the weeds, and needed help. We had to inquire about their "special" 3-course menu which this location obviously hides from you. The special menu has a salad, a meal, a side, and a dessert for a set price...it's great! We ordered our salads and a bloomin onion to share (see pix), ps- Dad got the wrong salad- but it was better than ours, and when the salads were finally delivered we inquired if we could have a loaf of their famous bread. After a bit, bread arrived, and we were able to place our orders. I ordered the $19.99 prix fixe meal, with prime rib, dad ordered, mom ordered... we were happy. 5 minutes later (it's like 7:15 now) waitress comes back and informs me they don't have any prime rib, I'm thinking she means the cut, but NO she means NO prime rib at all. WTH? no prime rib :( booooooooooo. Now I am sad. So, Outback down sold me from the $19.99 meal to the $12.99 Outback special....way to go! I used to come here all the time, but over the past two years I always found myself aggravated and disappointed when I ate here. The steak portions had gotten so small (don't they have a scale if they can't figure out what 9 or 12 ounces looks like?), the prime rib was ridiculously fatty, and the meat was rarely cooked correctly. I basically stopped going. Last month, my nephew wanted to eat at Outback to celebrate his graduation. He is a freak for the warm bread. We ended up having a great meal. I was shocked. Five stars that day. Food and service were great. Three of us had the 12 oz prime rib. The portion size was correct this time, with the appropriate amount of fat too. All three meals were also cooked as ordered - 1 medium rare, 1 medium, and 1 well done (ugh, a sin for prime rib). We also had 1 filet mignon (seasoned and cooked great) and 1 prime rib dip sandwich. With our Caesar salads, a Bloomin' Onion, and cocktails, we were all happy. It was a great meal. Yesterday, I was craving Outback's Bloomin' Burger. I've had this cheeseburger with Bloomin' onion pieces and the dipping sauce on top a few times before and enjoyed it. Ordering online was simple and quick. Their website is good. It said my meal could be picked up curbside in 35 minutes. Great! I arrived 30 minutes after ordering (5 minutes early). There was one car in line and they got their food right after I pulled up. Cheery Outback staff came out to my car right away. I paid the bill and they said it should be ready soon. My food came out 10-15 minutes later, and I thought no big deal. I was home in under 2 minutes. Pulled out my burger to find it was completely cold. Huh? Cheese not even melted. I cut it open and found it super well done. Definitely not the medium, tasty and warm burger I was expecting and had paid for. I was so disappointed. Again. One star day, and that is only because the curbside staff was friendly (and seemed efficient at the time). The burger was grossly overcooked, and clearly sat somewhere for at least 10 minutes to be completely cold when I got it. To sum up, this Outback is inconsistent. I am glad to know they offer a smaller version for those who do not want to get overly stuffed on an appetizer. Last time I went I got a bone in rib eye which was cooked perfectly and was to die for. My girlfriend's sirloin steak was also very flavorful and juicy. Another thing I would like to point out is the quality of their featured cocktails. I had placed a delivery order since right now I am recovering from a fractured knee and other health problems. Since I am a Dine Rewards member, I was supposed to get a bonus free Bloomin' Onion. When my order arrived both my steak and my husband's burger were not well done as ordered. Also the Bloomin' Onion was missing. I called the restaurant and was told that I would be contacted back. After not being called back in a few days, I again called and spoke to manager Haley Jacques. My experience was uphill from then. She sent me cards to allow me to order again for no charge. She also said I could call her personally when I was ready to order. I called her today to order and she assisted me so thoroughly. . Ordered takeout this past weekend and it was terrible. Typically expect more from outback but after this past weekend won't be going back. Ordered the bloomin' onion which was beyond greasy, almost inedible, chicken tacos which which were gross, and a buffalo chicken sandwich which left a lot to be desired. The chicken in the tacos were overcooked, chewy and flavorless, two of the three tacos didn't have pico and the one that did didn't have lettuce/slaw. The chicken sandwich was all breading and the fries were soggy and undercooked. Very disappointed with our experience. Update: Finally gave Outback another try and it was better, but still not great. Ribs were good; they were juicy and fell off the bone. Should learn my lesson with the bloomin' onion, never good for takeout it's all oil. Also got the No Rules Pasta with chicken and shrimp, which came on the side not mixed in. Ended up throwing it away, was bland and tasteless, along with the fries that came with the ribs. read more

Great location but has not been updated since 1990. We went December 3 for our nephews birthday . The staff and Manager were excellent but the kitchen staff was not up to par . The food ordered came out a little at a time. Some food was delivered after others were done Steaks ordered medium were rare , salads were all incorrect and soft drinks were not carbonated The Manager did give free birthday cake because of all the screw ups. I almost forgot to use my complimentary card we received at our Yelp event for Outback! I sat at the bar and Bill was the bartender who served me. He was very friendly and accommodating not to mention pretty popular with some of the regulars! LOL As much as I wanted to try some new items on the menu, I just had to treat myself to a "surf and turf" for New Years eve! I must give props to Outback for their new menu items. Many of them sounded very tempting. I especially like the part of the menu that explains the cuts of meat and how they're cooked! This is the best feature I've seen in a menu in a long time. Every time you go to a restaurant and order steak you just never know what you're going to get and how they gauge medium/medium rare/well. So it's great to actually see a picture and know exactly how it's supposed to look. Great idea Outback! I've always loved the Bloomin Onion but it always seemed like too much. Bill recommended the half order which I never knew they had, and it was perfect! I chose the loaded baked potato and a side salad to go along with the sirloin and lobster tail. They have recently renovated and the place looks amazing. We went in on a whim and we were not disappointed. The server David was so polite and attentive. The food was amazing. I have been to so many Outback's and usually have good quality food. But the food was cooked to absolute perfection. The bloomin onion chicken was so moist and juicy I was shocked at how good it was. David said good things about the over the top brussel sprouts and they were slamming. But they have a kick so if you're sensitive to heat don't get peppers. It's a shame that the quality control in the kitchen at this location fell through the cracks. My wife's steak ordered medium was as brown as the potato skin and my 13oz Rib Eye was served on tiny appetizer plate. The wait staff disappeared after bringing the food. I ordered Outback curbside takeout yesterday, and I was incredibly impressed by the quality of service. Not only was my food ready exactly when the online ordering told me it would be, but the take out employees were incredibly friendly and helpful. They greeted me upon entry, gave prompt service, and even asked me about my day. The best part was that the employee helping me asked if I'd like to go over my order with him to make sure everything was there, which made sure that I was leaving with everything I ordered! I've been satisfied every time, problem is Longhorn is to far away from my house.
