This is the first time I tried out this chain. The restaurant seems to be an attempt of Australian theme with the kangaroo and koala bear pictures in sight. It was lunch time and it was not very busy. There was not a big selection of drinks besides alcohol but I came here to eat so that is not a big deal. I ordered an "Aussie"-tizer of the wings and then a lunch combo. The wings were actually not bad and the salad I had was pretty delicious. Another person in the group ordered some Aussie fries and I got a chance to try some. I'm adding this because the fries were nothing special with an over-glorified name. In terms of the lunch menu, the selection is not too great. I did not have heavy expectations but it would be nice to have some healthier options besides salad. On the positive side, there appears to be a gluten-free option for anyone who is big into that. As mentioned before, there is not exactly something particular you would go here for. The food is cookie-cutter as it gets from this place. I would not mind going there again but there are better options for the price. read more

5 meal! Hot was very hot, cold was cold. Bread was warm, all condiments included. It was marked in red, no garlic--allergic, in multiple places. Steal was super tender, like butter. No fat on steak, which Filet mignon never should have. Also, steak was perfectly medium rare, no blood on plate! I ate it all! Oh, and take out containers can be used AGAIN. Bonus! This restaurant has Steak in the name, so you think they could cook a steak. We each ordered the 8 oz filet, rare, but they were both barely darken on top and were cold to the touch on the outside like out of the refrigerator cold. Disgusting. I wouldn't normally go to an Outback restaurant , let alone to a chain restaurant, but they have such a catchy jingle. I think it wore on my consciousness. We went there a few months ago for the same reason, the cheesy song that wouldn't leave my head for weeks. We were probably the only ones waiting 25 minutes for a table who were not going to be indulging in a juicy piece of red beef. We were there for the chicken. My boyfriend likes the 'Alice's Spring Chicken', it's topped with bacon and cheese...super tender. I had the 'Chicken on the Barbie' last time and it too was very tender and tasty. This time I tried the scallop skewers, and was pretty impressed. It came with grilled veggies and some rice pilaf. It hit the spot and I wasn't uncomfortably full. So if you are ever on a road trip or in the Couve and want to dine at a mock 'down under' restaurant filled with Americans who love to eat, go to the Outback. Went to an Outback Steak House in Orlando, FL, last summer. Tasteless food. Saw this one in Vancouver Mall, WA, decided to give the chain another chance. What a difference! Coconut shrimps ($9.99) for eight big prawns, puffy and deep fried just right. I could have just this appetizer (or 2, but don't think I could finish both) for dinner. 22 oz rib eye steak ($29.99) with two sides is enough to share. Cooked just right, and tasty. Baby back ribs so tender the meat fell off the bones. Great dinner. Renew my confidence in an Outback in our city. Got to try that again. read more

Went on a Wednesday night and it was pretty slow. I was arriving in a separate vehicle from the wife after a hard days work at the golf course. There might have been 15 people in the restaurant total at about 8:00pm. Upon arrival I found the family and waited about 10 minutes for the waitress to arrive who took our drink and appetizer orders. Appetizers took about 30 minutes to come out and the drinks came after the appetizers. After that it was all down hill from there. My steak was slow to come out, was cooked wrong, and it was pulling teeth to get a second loaf of bread to keep the kids quiet. I've eaten here a couple of times in the last 6 months and would say this place is going to hell. It's overpriced, the food is substandard, and the service is terrible. Avoid at all costs! read more

Went here last night for the first time in many years. We were starving and ordered the bloomin onion. When it arrived at our table, I commented that it looked like a dead onion. It was so completely deep fried and soaked in grease, the layers of onion were all flopped to the side and shriveled. We did eat it but it was nothing compared to billigan's great onion. Boyfriend got the crispy chicken sandwich... came out soaked in grease, as well. He is a BIG eater and only ate half of his food because it was a "gut bomb." I ordered side salad (no complaints) and a side of seasonal veggies... The veggies had to have been frozen because they were so completely mushy. I have only ventured into the steakhouse a few times and keep getting something other then steak! I love the cyclone pasta (I highly recommend it!) and bloomin' onion of course. The prices are average to a little spendy depending on what it is you are looking to eat. The reason this location only gets 3 stars is because the staff. I have to say, we had not been into an Outback in some time, it's just not one of our usual spots. On a whim I decided to take my mom to dinner here and I have to say I was incredibly impressed. The floor plan is open and well lit but still has a nice cozy feel. The service was incredibly prompt and several different members of the staff came the check and make sure everything was ok and if we needed anything. Our severer, Scott, was absolutely amazing! Engaging, funny, very attentive and made sure everything got to us and was being enjoyed. I will definitely start frequenting Outback again!!! Thanks for the great dining experience!! read more

This Outback location has been going downhill as far as its customer service and quality of food goes. I purchased the lunch special: Outback burger and added cheese for $1.00 extra and upgraded the salad to a wedge salad for .50 more. The cheese was gross, tasted like Velveeta, and the salad was disgusting because table salt was literally dumped all over the salad. I couldn't choke down the salad it was so disgusting but I did eat half the burger. So ultimately I just complained about the salad having tons of salt on it. The server came back and told me they would take four dollars off the price. However the salad alone goes for $6.50. With the extra cost for gross cheese and the salad the total came to $13.50 for lunch and the burger was not worth $9.50 alone (no fries). I felt bad but this was reflected in the tip, I always give 20% even if the service is marginal. Management never came by to apologize and I've never experienced that when something has been wrong with the meal. I'm definitely going to skip this Outback in the future. read more

One of our parties food was delivered several minutes after the others. Food was mediocre and to finish off out night, we waited half an hour to pay our bill. Not their best showing. I want to give it a 4 stars during our first visit. For our 2nd visit I want to give them 2 stars. Food was great! Server was kind of rude. After ordering our appetizer, she didn't even bother to come back to ask us for our main entree. She walked passed us several times and didn't even bother to ask if we are ready to order. I am a fan of Outback. This one was easy to get to and it had a lot of parking. The ribs were fantastic. The steak was a little more rare then what I usually like, and the potato was a little dry. After deciding it was time to try another restaurant in the area, we settled on Outback Steak House in Vancouver Mall. It was the Friday evening dinner rush when we arrived, but we were still greeted quickly and it was a very short wait before we were brought to our table. Our server was Melody, and she was pretty good. She was at our table to take drink and appetizer orders shortly after we were seated, and the drinks came shortly afterward. The appetizer took slightly longer - as expected - but was well worth the wait (we had the crab and avocado stack... delicious!). The drinks were done quite well, with the margarita surprisingly tart (which for us was a good thing) and the pina colada sweet and smooth (also a good thing). When the food arrived, everything was plated nicely and looked good on the table. He was ecstatic that they served authentic Australian lamb, which is pretty rare to find in the states. I had the steak and shrimp. The steak was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth divine! The prices are a bit on the expensive side for me, I tend to like my meals a little less expensive. But when it comes to an experience like we had last night, it was definitely money well spent! We will absolutely have to come back again. read more

Both times i had dealbreakers. the first time the blooming onion was literally soaked in oil, and my baked potato was chewy dry. the second time they outdid themselves. my steak tasted like seasoned burnt match-heads. This is by far the worst outback that I have visited. My husband and 3 kids ordered the sirloin with lobster. I ordered the minion with lobster. The way the cooked the minion made it taste exactly the same as the sirloin. Everyone of us agreed that i paid for a sirloin not a minion. I have had alot of minion and I love the tenderness of the beef. It was lacking of that. The served mac with lobster to one of the kids and reg mac to the other??? Which way is it suppose to be. The girls said that was dried out. Even know I am normally a fan of the outback I would not recommend this exact location. Good steak, hit-and-miss sides, confused service. Went here early on a Friday evening, and was told there would be a 5-15 minute wait. Had the pleasure of watching two parties that arrived after us get seated before us. When I asked the hostess about this, she informed me that my party had already been seated, and was genuinely surprised to then discover we had not. She did apologize and quickly get us a table. The drinks (the Rita Trio) were absolutely fantastic, but took FOREVER for the first round to arrive with the waitress apologizing a couple times for the bar being backed up. We never received our second rounds of drinks, order about 30 minutes before we left. Bloomin' Onion is always fabulous. Last few times I've been to an outback, the meat was way over-seasoned, so we both ordered our Porterhouses with their new "Wood-fired" option, and received tasty, well cooked steaks, though my garlic mashed-potatoes were apparently liquefied in the mashing process, and rendered inedible. If I'm in the area wanting a steak I'll probably return, but will not go out of my way to do so. read more

So bad. Haven't been in a couple years and we went last night because Red Robin was a 45 min wait. We love steak and this place used to be one of the best ones around. Not anymore. We started with the traditional must get blooming onion. The batter was heavy and greasy and the bottom wasn't fully cooked and caked with raw flour. We ate the top and that was about it. We all ordered sirloin. My husbands came out like a flat hockey puck. He was like this is mine? Over cooked. Slapped on a plate like it had been warmed up. Kinda looked like a school lunch. No juices flowing no garnish just a dry steak and a baked potato that looked like a fast food one. Pre baked and heated up with bright red bacon bits. The rest of the dinners were the same to follow. Although cooked better, presentation was the same. Everything was very salty. My mouth was on fire from all the salt. It was just so bad. Our server was great and she made it right even though we didn't ask to. Also the place was a mess. Our table wall had stuff splattered all over it and the floor had food everywhere. Spending so much time in Omaha, I rarely get steak back home. Enjoying Valentine's girls night without the guys, my friend suggested Outback. I cringed, but I was hasty in my judgement. Not an Omaha steak house. Not even close with the children, mall atmosphere, and people dining out in sweat pants, but the Valentine's special for two was actually quite a surprise. It was just fun and the service, though very mall dining generic, was rather excellent this night. The massive onion thing is frightening and should be avoided at all costs, but the salads, cocktails made perfectly to my picky request, and the meal perfectly timed to quickly turn that table was actually a fun experience. The people watching was like a flavorful condiment to the meal. Now that was entertaining. Family dining is my best descriptor. read more

My husband and I went here 2 weeks ago, One of our friends said it was good, so we took a chance. Major disappointment! I ordered steak and asked for it medium and I even said thats slightly pink right? Server said it was. Well, steak came and it was red, so freaking gross! Unfortunately, despite that the service was kind of slow, especially considering I was the only one sitting at the bar and the restaurant was not particularly crowded. It's also kind of pricy especially considering I was the only one eating. I grant you that I did order an expensive item but the amount of food received for the price was pretty bad. just want to say first off the food was amazing. Go chef you rock. The best steak i have ever had. I the surf and turf it was fantastic. I wish yelp had a separate section for customer service. I have been an executive chef for years ran restaurants, and now i am an area manager at a big restaurant establishment. So my issue is, I was there around 4 oclock on 2/22/18. This amazing server was helping someone at the bar. Then he came to me very friendly. I sat there for 10 minutes before he could get to me. I was thinking he was the bartender, he was not he said he was helping the bartender that she was on brake. And i thought 4 oclock no bartender interesting. He did an amazing job. So the bartender finally showed up. No enthusiasm at all and checking her phone before she even talked to the server that helped me and the other guy. She didnt say welcome. Hi or anything. And then she disappeared. There were other people at the bar that other SERVERS had to help she never came to check on us or anything. To me is seemed as though we were a problem at her bar. She neglected everyone. Cusomer service is # 1 she has non and i am sure there has been complaints before. I drove all the way from sedona Az had to crash at a hotel room for the night and i was getting my food to go, maybe that was the problem in her eyes. I was excited to have a good experience at your store. The food the servers are fantastic. I wish i got her name but she was never there. I still tiped because i know how things are. I have been to this location a few times sadly it has went down hill more each visit. First off,we ordered an appetizer it came at the same time as the salads and was cold two onion petals both extremely brown and not even warm. I have always loved the chopped salad sadly it was tasteless like the dressing was watered down and here wasn't much of the pecans cheese or crunchy things it was more lettuce than normal. All of the steaks were extremely salty to the point one of our party couldn't eat theirs . The French onion soup was decent but more beef broth than onion flavor . A quesadilla was extremely salty as well. Quality has definitely diminished although the wedge salads were good everything else was lacking. The place wasn't full so I don't get it.
