I only come here when they have unlimited shrimp, because it's bloody unlimited shrimp, son. Other than that, this place is pretty meh. They cook a decent steak, and have pretty delicious fries, but everything else is petty darn average. I don't come here often, like I said usually only for unlimited shrimp, but it's a decent place to come when in the area. It's also somewhere I like to go when somebody else is paying. I wish I could give negative stars. Most of the time, there's only one server during lunch which is unacceptable. It took our server nearly 45 minutes to bring out bread, which was cold. I asked for water and received a soda, which I was charged for even after telling him I just wanted water. I also had to go back to work before our food came out. I get an hour lunch. I rarely write a review but after 2 bad experiences in a month, I had to. First, the good. The steaks are flavorful and delicious and the Ahi Tuna appetizer is my favorite. The new remodel looks great but it seems like the place has went down hill ever since the remodel. When we went there about a month ago, after being seated, we waited for about 15 minutes without a single server coming to our table and it wasn't even that busy. We ended up finally just getting up and leaving. The really sad thing is that I don't think any of the staff even noticed we left. Well, we decided to try it again last night. Service was slightly better, though still slow. The Ahi Tuna appetizer my wife and I shared seemed slightly different than usual though I couldn't put my finger on it at the time. I found out this morning though when we both woke up with severe food poisoning. Now I'm in bed bemoaning the fact we went there and swearing to myself I won't give them a third chance. I went here on a Friday night when it was busy. There was a 45 minute wait for a table of 2 so we went to walk around the mall for a little. We were very hungry so we decided to go try to find a seat at the bar instead. We found two seats at the bar top so we decided to eat there. It was very busy so I understand that it may take longer than usual, but every one around us was getting their order taken and we were ignored. It took about 10 minutes to get waters and another 20 minutes for someone to take our order. I asked both bartenders if we could order food and they said they would come back in a minute... Yet it was about 10 minutes later. I believe that because we were the youngest couple there is why we were getting ignored. We have been to Outback many times and have never been treated with disrespect like this last time. We haven't been here for about ten years, but we were given a gift card that needed to be used. We were greeted promptly in the barely busy restaurant, taken to our table, and proceeded to wait about 8 minutes without any greeting from our server or any kind of contact with anyone. We almost got up to leave as we were already having doubts. Finally our server arrived, with no introduction. She was pleasant but not personable at all. We ordered the Bloomin Onion, as we had never had that. About 10 minutes later, our server came back with water and bread (the bread is dry with flavorless butter, not their best feature but a nice touch). At that point, she took our order for food and drinks. Our onion app came about 15 min after we ordered it and the ranch we asked for came 10 minutes after that. Our salads came relatively quickly but our main course took about 30 minutes. When we got it, my steak and potato were cold. My husband's wasn't as bad but his was lukewarm at best. I did say something to the server and she took it back. I got it within about 10 minutes, steaming and just the way it should've been the first time. But my husband was already done eating by then. In addition to the appetizer, which wasn't really that tasty, we ordered two 6oz steaks with baked potatoes and lobster tails; with a wedge salad and a blue cheese pecan chopped salad. The chopped salad had way too much dressing and could only be half eaten, but the wedge salad was great. The lobster tails were solid as well. Once my steak came hot, it was good and I appreciate her effort to fix it. But it had obviously been sitting there for awhile and considering how little service we actually got, it makes sense that she let it sit there. The restaurant looks nice with the new remodel, and my skinny margarita was fantastic. But the service, while polite, was lacking in attentiveness to both us and our food. The person who brought out the fixed steak was way more attentive, checking on us a few times, although I have no idea who he was. Just don't think we'll be trying out this place again anytime soon. This is not the review I would ever guess I would write about an Outback. The salad and the broccoli were the best parts of our dinner. We've been going to Outbacks across the country for years. We've always experienced the good steak and seafood that the prices suggest we would get. Not at this visit. The service was slow, but I noticed our server seemed to have more than ten tables, so not her fault. Never got drink refills offered, now that I think of it. The food was not well-prepared (except for the salad and broccoli). The fish, lobster, and steak were all overcooked. Seriously overcooked. I think they probably started out as good pieces of fish/seafood/steak, but things went downhill fast in the kitchen somehow. Also, the brown bread was cold. We ordered cheese fries and they were dripping in grease (ok I ordered cheese fries and I understand it's a greasy food but these were super greasy and limp and sad). Again, the salad and broccoli were excellent. I did let the server know that things were wrong with our food and the manager adjusted our ticket appropriately. I do not feel so confident about this spot for steak and seafood. Would probably return though for drinks and salad. read more

I come here 2 or 3 times a month. I can not comment on the food, since I usually pony up to the bar. Drinks are WAY spendy, dependent on your bar tender. And even when the crowd is minimal, you may have to wait for your bar tendress to finish yucking it up with co-workers to replenish your beverage. Today, 9-29-2010, I waited 17 1/2 minutes while miss happyhour was talking to friends, "AND NO ONE ELSE WAS IN THE BAR!" I have no idea what the food taste like. Went for my birthday and only giving 3 stars because of mixed feelings. --Entry: The seating hostesses had to be all of 18, over-makeup'd and snotty. They didn't emit warm feelings at all. The guy manager that walked around was extremely nice and you could tell he was on top of things. --Food: our coconut shrimp appetizer was fabulous, ribs were tender and super-meaty, my blackberry sangria was yummy but awful small for the $8 price tag, my sirloin was supposed to be medium but came out medium-well. Some times a business meeting can be something to be worried or nervous about, but with endless shrimp! There are no worries! Three plates deep already and the waitresses are discussing which one is going to come an ask if I still want more. The salad was decent, a tad big for a side salad but it all made sense when my 8 oz steak showed up. With out the endless shrimp I don't know if I would recommend the steak and shrimp. We always enjoy the Outback. It was very busy, a few days prior to Christmas. We met our Nephew and his wife for a some good food and conversation. We ordered drinks which came fast. We had Coconut Shrimp prior to the meals, and enjoyed salads, a steak with lobster, plus a chicken dish. All were very good, however the shrimp were just a little over cooked. Service was good and most of all we were able to have a conversation.....not too noisy. While it was pouring down rain outside, it was easy to find parking in the large parking area, without getting soaked. We will return. read more

We have been two times within the last few months and both experiences have been not so great! First time it was a busy Saturday night and they said it would be about 20 minutes...after about 35 minutes of watching people walk in and get seated we find out that they crossed our name off the list! I gave it a review of 2 based off the staff. The food was a 0. Prime rib cut was full of gristle and fat that could not be chewed. My wife had some wings and ate one. Blooming onion was loaded with grease that puddled up on the plate. This is the last trip to an Outback as this seems to be the same experience every time. The staff was great. Had a large gift card that I was given. Drove by last weekend - was packed so we made a "reservation" for this weekend. Showed up at 5:50 for a 6PM reservation. Was not seated until 6:30. Numerous tables with the same party size were seated before us. Of course we got seated at likely the worst possible seat in the back next to the kitchen and bathroom. Waiter we got was better than many restaurants, but that's about it. Medium and medium-well were both served rare, which wasn't great, so I can't say good things about the cooks they had on shift. In the future I would rather refuse a gift card than deal with this place again. Reservations a week in advance apparently mean nothing to this company. read more

The restaurant has recently had a facelift and it's been done very well. Service was slow'ish and orders not quite right. It took 15 min just to get our drinks and it wasn't that busy. Food, as always, was decent. Nothing exceptional. A safe night out of pretty good food. If they could raise the bar on quality of food and improve their very slow service, this could be a gold mine. I really enjoyed my prime rib but one of the ppl I went with ordered the ribeye and said it was the worst he's ever had in a restaurant. Once seated the waitress took our order it again was taking a VERY long time. We seen several couples walk in and wait by the door so long they literally just said "screw it" and left. 2 other tables were seated when the host finally appeared. Once again more couples walk in and the back out once he disappeared again. After still waiting close to a half hour for soup and salad only we left. Never seen a manager or food other than the soup. This is the worst Outback I've ever been to. They don't serve the food the way it's described on the menu, despite being a franchise. Alice Springs Chicken is served with honey mustard as it's clearly described on the menu, but at the Vancouver location you have to request it, it has been like this for years. I went last night after a couple years hoping their penny-pinching ways had changed, nope. If you want the Outback food that's described on the menu, drive to Portland. Our food took forever which was consistent with the length of time it took to be seated. We waited so long for our table that we read the menu and ordered all of our food and drinks the moment we were seated, it still took forever. They brought my daughter the wrong dinner but we didn't dare send it back because of how long it took for them to screw it up the first time.
