Prices have definitely gone up over the last few years (not surprised). 6oz filet mignon with 2 sides is $21.99....I highly recommend getting the added garlic butter to your steak for $1 to give it more flavor. Also 4 pieces of broccoli does count as a side here. I'd rather pay more for a steak at a restaurant with better service and atmosphere though. Go here pretty often but this time was not too good. A little disappointed. Had the prime rib which was good but about 25% of it was gristle. The rest was good. Waited until I was almost done with it to get my horseradish even though I asked twice. My wife and daughter both had Filets. Asked for medium and medium well. Arrived rare and medium rare and sent them back. Came back better but there were still parts of the medium that were almost rare. Asked for mushrooms and garlic sauce, never got the mushrooms (they ended up on the bill and had to be removed $4) and finally got the garlic sauce after asking a second time. This is Another chain that is on their way down, Way Down. The prime rib used to be good but on this trip it was actually tough and full of fat. It looked like a winner but taste and texture a joke. It's become sort of fashionable these days to crack on Outback for being generic or mediocre or whatever. I saw someone on Twitter call Outback "the Olive Garden of steakhouses". Maybe some of them are crap, I don't know. I couldn't tell you why this has become "a thing," but I can tell you this: the joke is on them, because this place is spectacular. The Outback on Bolsa Ave (Westminster Mall parking lot) is bright, airy, and clean. The food is fantastic. On my last trip, my girlfriend got the ribeye (medium well), and I got the prime rib (rare) -- both were delicious, and cooked to perfection. I cannot count the number of places I've been in my life, even so-called steakhouses, that could not plate a properly cooked steak. You ask for rare, you get medium rare, etc. Not here. At Outback, they have a picture right on the menu -- a scale of meat in various stages of doneness -- and they adhere to it with a conviction that borders on religious. The sides are excellent as well. Another rarity in dining out is to find a place that can do a baked potato well, where it's cooked to the same consistency, all the way through, every single bite. No problem here. The service is also superb. Our server was friendly, attentive, and got everything right. From what I saw of other sections, there were no other tables that went wanting for anything, either. Even the owner of the place was up and around, greeting and chatting with diners. We decided to share the 13oz classic seasoned medium rare ribeye with garlic mashed potatoes, blooming onion, aussie fries, and blue cheese pecan chopped salad. Way too much food between the two of us. Our eyes were defintely better than our stomachs... Over ordering always happens when we go out to eat :( LOL, everything came out together, which was what we had asked for. Christine brought out new drinks for us everytime we were getting empty, didn't even have to flag her down to do so! Our steak was really good, cooked medium rare as requested. I hate when I order medium rare steak and it's over cooked.. But this was great! Of course you can't compare the steak to the fine steaks of Ruth's Chris, Flemings, and whatnot but it was better than other restaurants. Blooming onions are always a favorite of ours, especially when it comes time for OC Fair. Boyfriend called this a pre-OCfair blooming onion, haha! We both weren't a fan of the overly mustardy sauce that came with the blooming onion, but that was easy to fix by asking for a side of ranch or ketchup instead. Aussie fries were okay; we know to pass on this next time. It's just a plate of fries with melted shredded cheese and bacon I believe? We had the choice of getting a half order, but being the hungry couple we were when ordering, we got the full size lol. Garlic mashed potatoes were good, not overly salty or bland. I really really really enjoyed the blue cheese pecan chopped salad. I love yummy salads with different flavors and textures and this definitely hit the spot! Glad we decided to come here. Honestly, pretty mediocre. I had a $50 gift card, so 5 co-workers and I went for lunch. Food and service were fine but nothing great. I checked in on Yelp for the free bloomin' onion, but something went wrong when the waitress tried to enter it. She said it was fine and that she would comp it anyway. We checked the bill back at the office, and it had not been removed. We called and were told we'd have to come back to get credited. It wasn't worth the $9 to deal with it any longer. Yup im giving Outback a 4 star! Now the last time I went to Outback, I was about 20 yrs old and I hated it(Long beach location.) That was good and my mom chowed down on that major :p My sister ordered a clam chowder. It wasn't super thick but not super watery either. Definitely had great flavor. I'd order that for myself :) For the main course I did the chopped steak with lobster tails added. I forgot what moms ordered (hey this weeks ago, I forget lol) Rachel ordered the chicken bbq quesadilla and cheese fries with bacon. After waiting a bit , our food finally comes out. We looked like some major pigs because we filled up that whole table lol. I started grubbing and my mouth becomes instantly happy. The chopped steak was crack ! It was juicy and very flavorful. The mashed taters were seasoned and also tasty. The green beans were cooked perfectly but needed a lil seasonin salt :) The lobster tails looked mad wack, almost looked the same size of some jumbo prawns. I had loooooow expectation for those, until I started to taste them. OMG these itty bitty lobster tails were BOOOOOMB. Damn I want 4 of them next time! I tried my sisters food and great appetizer bar food. The servings were HUGE! My mom enjoyed her meal as well. I forgot which dessert we ordered haha. When our server came and asked how was our food, we told him it was ok but just a little bit overcooked. Our server apologized and had decided to replace our Blooming Onion.
