    We visited this Outback on a Sunday night and were seated quickly. Our server was very friendly! The dining room was fairly quiet but the food was a little slow to arrive. Our meals hit the spot. The food can be a little pricey but it's expected.

    TL;DR: this location is great for lunch! We had a change of lunch plans today and mom and I decided to pop in here. Firstly, it's very close to my office so convenience was perfect. Second, there is a plenty of parking available (especially for lunch). We walked in and were immediately sat on a random Tuesday afternoon. The lighting is dim but not too dark at all. And they have free WiFi which I found out when I randomly needed to look something up. Our service was great. It was not very busy which in my experience can be a double edged sword - meaning, sometimes you are forgotten OR sometimes it's so slow that the service is excessive. It was perfect. We were checked on at a good pace and our food came out fairly quickly and was good! Our server was also extremely pleasant and friendly. I didn't know that Outback had lunch specials so yay for that! Currently on their menu they have $7 cocktails all day every day (if I read that correctly). If I didn't have to go back to work, I would've participated and been calling an Uber Mom and I had a great time!

    5 stars for the food!!! Simple and delicious. This is first time in a while I got my steak cooked perfectly, exactly how I asked it to be cooked - medium well done - it was with light pink meat inside. Loved it. Lobster was really and mashed potatoes too. I loved their strawberry lemonade. Jack was our server and he was really nice and provided outstanding service to us. Inside was clean and comfy. Definitely a place to comeback to.

What I order every single visit: Salad with house dressing, it's honestly one of my favorite dressings anywhere. Loaded Buckskins - You have to get these. Think a cross between a steak fry and a potato wedge, loaded with cheese and bacon, addictively good. Petite strip steak - Perfect portion, cooked and seasoned just right every time. Simple, consistent, and exactly what you want. They also bring out warm brown bread with your meal that just hits, and a side of applesauce that I've come to think of as the perfect little palate cleanser, such a simple touch, but it makes the experience feel even more classic. This is one of those places that feels like home. No frills, no trends, just really good food, great people, and decades of consistency. This will absolutely be a staple for me as long as I live in Sanford.

We started with some drinks and apps... coconut shrimp and jalapeño poppers. Came out hot and tasty! For mains we had the grilled chicken breast, rib eye, filet and the strip steak. All the proteins came out perfectly cooked, sides were delicious! The homemade peach cobbler was great, I wish it had some more peaches but other than that it was perfect! The service was amazing, our server came back to check on us several times and kept the drinks topped off! I am so happy we stumbled in and I can say we will definitely be back! It was a great meal, good vibes and full bellies!

She stood there while my wife cut into it, revealing it was still basically raw/red inside. We politely pointed it out and reminded her we'd ordered medium well. Her response? "I know what medium well means." When I asked her what she thought it should look like, she snapped back with, "I'm not the one eating it." Seriously? That level of rude, dismissive attitude from a manager is unbelievable. No apology, no ownership, just pure sass and zero customer service. I told her I'd be leaving a review about this mess, and she casually mentioned she'd already "informed" her boss, the managing partner Rachel. Guess what? Rachel never bothered to come to the table, check on us, or even pretend to care. Not a single attempt to make it right. We've given this location so many chances over the years, but tonight was the last straw. Inconsistent cooking (they can't seem to get medium well right), terrible attitudes from management, and zero accountability when things go wrong. If you actually care about getting a properly cooked steak and being treated like a paying customer instead of an inconvenience, avoid this location at all costs. They clearly don't value regulars or basic respect. One star is generous--save your money and your patience somewhere else.

Today, though, I noticed them selling Japanese Wagyu as: Sake Infused Dry Aged A9 Kobe Strip. This is a very scammy way of selling a product. First, meat is graded broadly on three scales - USDA (choice, prime), BMS (beef marbling scale - common in Aus), and the Japanese grading scale. (A1-A5, with most high end steaks being A4 or the gold standard, A5). https://meatnbone.com/blogs/the-clever-cleaver/meat-beef-grading-system-understanding A9 doesn't exist. A BMS 9 could be an A5. But this is mislabeled. They have also used the term A11 in their instagram account. Maybe they are confusing BMS for A-scale, or maybe they are intentionally trying to make their product seem better than competitors. Furthermore, not all Japanese Wagyu is Kobe beef. Kobe beef refers to Tajima cattle raised in Hyogo Japan. The export of this beef is highly regulated to only certain restaurants and purveyors, who will display a seal and certificate certifying the origin of the beef. It is rare, expensive, and most importantly, Bush Brothers (Local Butcher's wholesale purveyor) is not certified to sell, nor do they use in any way, the term Kobe Beef. So it is incredibly likely that this product is mislabeled. This isn't illegal (Kobe beef doesn't have a TM in the US), but it is disingenuous. https://www.kobe-niku.jp/en/contents/certification/index.html https://instagram.com/bushbros Next, "sake infused"is incredibly confusing. Is it referring to the myth that Kobe cattle are massaged with sake? Is it referred to the use of koji (fermented cooked rice) which is often used as an aging accelerant? Or did they really take Japanese Wagyu and infuse (inject, soak?) with sake? And why on earth would you do that!? It would be like making sangria with a bottle of DRC. This product is likely a A5 strip loin (which Bush Bros. does carry) that has been aged. Market price would be somewhere around $175-185/lb. (An unaged cut would be around $150/lb.) When I asked for more information on the most expensive cut of meat in their shop, I was treated with disdain and a dismissive attitude. Neither member of the staff could answer my questions other than to say "It's the highest grade of Kobe beef." To charge $215 dollars for a grade that doesn't exist, for a steak that isn't from Kobe, with an aging method that seems dubious at best, is disingenuous and plays on a lack of consumer knowledge. If The Local Butcher themselves don't know the differences here, they shouldn't sell this product. If they do, they should be ashamed of themselves.
