    Artisanal Cheese Board

We chatted, sipped Pinot Grigio and Chardonnay, enjoying local night specials, and small Burrata. This place is our go-to for relaxation in Napa, thanks to its warm atmosphere, friendly staff, and excellent wine and cheese.

    Perfect to eat with pickles!

So many great cheese makers in the Sonoma and Napa area that you can find here! It's fun to visit the spots but the cheese shop makes it easy with all of the spots in one shop. They also have other cheese from other destinations! Like the mustard cheddar I bought from Wales! It was amazing with sweet pickles on a cracker! So many delicious looking cheeses that I'm sure I'll never run out of something new to try! You can even grab some things for a small cheeseboard and eat it out on the markets picnic tables.

They have so much here and it can be a bit overwhelming. I'm a cheeseboard girl and I got an ugly, stinky cheese and it was fantastic! I got some others that I haven't gotten before. I like that they have the soft cheeses in one bin and the hard ones in another. This place is super busy, but that allowed me time to sift through their offerings to see what I wanted and there were some true gems. I love that I can come by for a cheese plate and enjoy some wine and look forward to doing so in the future. But right now, I have a sack with four kinds of cheese, a wine, and some meat and I'm going to enjoy a proper snack.

    Bon appetit!

The wife and I stopped here during our month-long road trip. When in Napa, you gotta do a little wine and cheese. This place has a wide variety of cheeses and the staff are very friendly when helping you make a selection. They even had one (Midnight Moon) that my chef nephew recommended we try sometime. Anyway, wide selections of cheeses, wines, and the accoutrements that go with it. It is set in a large open market with other venders to peruse. THIS IS A MUST TRY!

    Just the soft cheeses.

An exquisite selection of cheese, local and international, but best of all, friendly, knowledgeable advice. Cheese newbies, budding cheese aficionados, Wisconsin cheeseheads in for the big game, and all others, will enjoy a no-judgement, non-intimidating, holier-than-thou attitude from Oxbow Cheese. How refreshing! A relief from the poser establishments, $100-bottle wine shops and boutique B&Bs you have all over Napa.

Our cheese mongers did a great job explaining their inventory and recommending excellent pairings. The noise was appropriate for the public market setting, but not too loud

As you enter the Oxbow market, the staff stop you for temperature checks on your wrist. Interesting, wrist checks! Once we got in, we headed to the far right and grabbed a few drinks while waiting for our table at Hog Island. Transaction at the bar was easy, bartender was pleasant, and although there wasn't bar seating indoors, there were "Reserved" hi tops outside for people who purchased drinks at Oxbow Cheese & Wine Market. For a Sunday afternoon, there wasn't too many people, but still a lively patio. I got the Spooky Sangria. Wasn't anything super crazy (or spooky), but simple and tasteful! It came with a festive Halloween straw and a few drops of pomegranate seeds at the bottom. It wasn't strong, and I usually prefer fruit chunks in my sangria, but it still tasted good and was a good start to the beginning of our night!

The cheese merchant was knowledgeable about the wines and cheese pairings. We ordered off the menu and was able to sit at the bar where we were received great service. We ordered the wine below and given a merchants choice of 3 cheeses because we don't eat pork salami or prosciutto. The purple cheese was infused with a grape wine, 2nd cheese an Italian similar to an aged Parmesan, and 3rd a smooth Gouda cheese however I prefer smoked but this was ok. The market is busy with sections of vendors selling various items from the market; items such as fresh produce veggies, to pasta, wine, desserts, chocolate, other food items both cold and hot. It's a nice open market with a chill vibe. I think this is a must in Napa to be able to get various selections of cheeses from Sonoma and cheeses from out of the country. I recommend going just be aware it may have lots of people depending on what time you go but there is plenty of parking.

Great wine and cheese shop at the tail end of Oxbow next to Hog Island Oyster. The employees were friendly and helpful. We got a small platter of cheese, olives, and nuts to pair with a bottle of their wine for an afternoon snack. Everything was delicious!

The Local with added charcuterie. Add some wine and you have the makings for a nice afternoon to catch up on life with your bestie.

I'm excited to try the new items. It is nice that they have dried Porcini mushrooms and morel mushrooms you can use in their bean soup. This weekend, my cousin brought my aunt, who loves chocolate, into the shop. They stood by the display and attempted to ask questions about the chocolates. The employee repeatedly responded from behind the register that she "couldn't hear them" and refused to walk over to assist. Feeling unwelcome, they decided to leave. When they told me what had happened, I went over to the counter to understand what was going on. There were no customers waiting, and I calmly explained that my family simply wanted help purchasing chocolate. I asked if she would be willing to apologize and rectify the situation so my aunt and cousin could continue shopping. Instead, she repeatedly said she didn't want "anything hostile" and wasn't looking for "problems," even though the conversation remained calm and respectful. When I asked to speak with the manager or owner, she picked up the phone and offered for me to speak with someone. When I asked if it was the manager or owner, she said she was calling security. I was stunned. At no point was anyone aggressive or disrespectful. We simply wanted service. She then pointed to the Pride pins on her apron and shared that she had been bullied by others because of them. I made it clear that no one in my family was bullying her and that we only wanted assistance buying chocolate. I've spent many weekends in Napa and love Oxbow Public Market. This interaction was completely out of character with the hospitality I've come to expect there. Calling security on customers who are politely asking for service and requesting to speak with a manager was unwarranted and deeply disappointing. I sincerely hope ownership addresses this, because no customer should leave feeling unwelcome when they simply came in to buy chocolate.
