DISGUSTING / BAD SERVICE. I came in here yesterday around 6pm it was my first time trying out this place. I ordered the crunch roll since that's my usual at sushi places, I receive it and notice they put mayo just straight up white mayo on the rolls along with another brown sauce. I try the roll and it's disgusting. the after flavor was really gross I don't know how to describe it, at first I thought it was the sauce so we called the server over and explained how we didn't like it but wasn't sure if it was the sauce or the actual imitation crab. she says she'll be right back (took forever and we were just waiting there). then the older asian lady comes up she's another server and asks what's wrong with the food and I explain the same thing, she starts being really rude saying how that's how it comes with the sauce and made it seem as if i'm lying about how bad it taste? then I just ask if I can just order the Gyoza instead. she didn't even answer and walks away. then they come with another roll without sauce? I try it and it still taste bad. then they're watching us from a distance but refuse to check up on us. I ask again about the Gyoza and they bring it over and that taste like trash as well. either the oil they cooked it in or the way they seasoned the chicken inside. The older lady was so rude and she still charged me for the roll even though I ate neither? this place is disgusting and the customer service is horrible. if I could i would give 0 stars. I'm currently having a late lunch here on a Thursday. The service was great! Super friendly and sweet servers but the sushi chef is terribly unfriendly and rude. It's just a typical sushi bar with nothing authentic. They play that obnoxious music and cater to that crowd that wouldn't know good sushi if it hit them in the face. I asked my server if I could order a spicy albacore hand roll, she said she would ask the chef. Well, the chef had to ask which table it was for and said no. I ordered two types of Tempura rolls, both were fried in old and stale oil which made the fish taste horrible. I won't be coming back. read more

Recipe for food poisoning! Cooks don't wash their hands, touched their clothing & face, then continued to touch the raw fish. Cook also was NOT wearing a mask, while during the reinstalled mask mandate, that's just gross. I don't want your breath or germs on my food, esp. with cross contamination being so present right in front of me. Men in the back, (waitress said dishwasher) did not have masks on. Unprofessional & disgusting. Walked out hungry during my birthday dinner. Still charged me 56$ to be grossed out. UPDATE: I do wanna say that the food here is good, we have enjoyed are prior visits & their service is good. Manager refunded our money very kindly, and that I appreciate. Waitress (Lexi I think she said) was also very sweet. I am disappointed that I had to walk out on my dinner bc I do genuinely enjoy this place. Went a few weeks ago for lunch, the first thing I noticed was how dark and DIRTY it was. Dirty floors, tables, menus and dishes. Thought I'd give them another try... Went again on Monday (Presidents Day 2/21/22), We order our food just for the waitress to come back and say, the manager?? said they are not doing their lunch/dinner specials today because it's a holiday. Who does that anyway? Either you let people know when they walk in the door that there's no specials that day (so they can choose to stay and eat there or go somewhere else) OR you don't have it on the menu at all because it's a special and it should be any day regardless of a holiday! I will never go back here again and support this business. Also, (even though our young waitress was nice and is the one who served us both times) make sure the waitresses are looking around/paying attention to their tables that they're supposed to be serving for refills etc. read more

My husband and I are always on the lookout for a new AYCE sushi place and he found it on yelp and we decided to try out this place. Ambiance was okay but too dark and outdated dor my taste. The lighting gave me a headache while eating... not a good combination Servers were quite attentive to your needs and requests and friendly too! Food... now we're talking... the sushi rice doesn't taste like sushi rice... too heavy!! All you can taste is a lot of rice. I wish I have pics to show. Sushi rolls are too big due to thick roll of rice. However taste was good but a little heavy on the eel sauce. Their miso soup tasted sour... don't know why but it's our first time to taste one. The mixed tempura, supposed to be my favorite appetizer was heavy on the batter and was bland to taste. Disappointing to eat here and won't be coming back here at all! Came back to Ozeki sushi and was really impressed with their quality and AYCE deal! Huge improvement from about two years ago and I must say is a top 5 sushi spot in the area. Hospitality is a bit weird but most sushi spots are. Definitely recommend to those who are huge fans of sushi! read more

Horrible experience with the waitress named Luisa, after waiting 10 minutes I called her and asked her if she could please take our order and annoyed she said no!! that she had to take it who had seated us or wow in the end she and she told us that it was late to serve us. Use to love this place. This place is a scam! All you can eat sushi is not worth it!! The first round of rolls brought out in two waves, the first roles double rice wrapped. Then they'll bring out the rest. The menu states you have to eat all the rice. Second round of rolls are normal. however you are too full from rice to enjoy them. Pre-covid they valued they costumer. Ozeki is my local sushi restaurant where my friends and family and I go for sushi. Prices are very fair! There sushi is on point!!! They have the traditional sushi plus the sushi tempura style which are so delicious!!! My children love the golden California and one called the lion I love the popcorn lobster omg can you say bomb!!! read more

We rented the private room for a birthday party. Fits 25 people comfortably and we had the room for 4 hours. The service was great and the platters were beautiful. Had all you can with my family and I, and was very happy with the service as well as the food. We got all of our food at the same time to make sure everyone at our table ate at the same time. Even though it took a little bit to get our food I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, because we were a big group. Overall, the food was great and service was excellent. I'd like to enjoy this place as much as my friend does, but unfortunately I do not. It's good don't get me wrong, but it's just not the best. One of my main concerns is that the eel (no matter what the dish) seem to always have bones in it. Other places I go to don't have this issue so I'd say that is a big deal for me especially since I love eel. Another problem in my opinion is that their sushi rolls, although abundant in choices, are at best good. I'd really have to go here more to try all the different kinds of sushi rolls until I found something really good that stood out, but that won't happen since I rarely go out this far. I didn't particularly like their nigiri, but I still think it was good enough. Overall, in terms of taste I think the place deserves a 3.6 but Yelp doesn't allow that kind of a rating so I'll give it a 4. read more

The quality of the sushi here really surprised me. I always passed this place and never gave it a second glance until I decided to try it since it's a block away. The inside is really cool and modern, a totally different vibe from what the outside gives off. The service is fast and super friendly. We got AYCE on a Saturday at around 7pm, ordered about 6-7 rolls and got out of there within an hour. Service is fast! The food was delicious and was presented with high quality. My husband and my favorite AYCE sushi place in Chino / chino hills area! We're often the only Asian when dining here, feels like we found a hidden gem, but maybe because it's quite deep in Chino. This place is Korean owned so don't expect perfectly authentic Japanese sushi. We appreciate their sushi portion and their speedy service (most of the time, we avoid Friday dinner rush). Per person price is better than Chino Hills area. We enjoy their rice-free rolls. They don't have uni or sweet shrimp as part of AYCE. Sometimes they have beer specials but not always. Terrible, I have ate there twice since the new management change. During the first visit we didn't get our drinks till the second round of sushi which took like (30) minutes to get the first round. My Fiance and I have been coming here for about two years its my absolute favorite sushi place not only is the quality and taste amazing but the customer service has s incredible I've never had a bad experience there, I brought some friends who came from out of town and they were beyond impressed! They've changed management several times over the years. This review is based on our dinner service this week- horrible. Six of us ordered AYCE and after two hours had only received our first round of sushi. It was completely ridiculous. Looking around the restaurant, no one else was getting food either. They were only half full and had two sushi chefs. I couldn't believe how slow it was. The manager on duty was also very unprofessional. After we complained, she started yelling and reprimanding staff in front of the restaurant. Also they are not honoring their advertised deal of 50% drinks after 6 pm- only on Fridays and Saturdays. This was my favorite spot to get sushi but the past good few months there survive has gone down. They dont check up on you. You can sit there for 30 mins without them refilling your glass. Just the other night I wanted to give them one last time and as soon I we got there the wait was 10 mims. No big beal short wait but my son had just fallen asleep so I asked it I can sit in a booth while i wait since one 2 booths where being used and the host told me no. DO YOU WANT TO STAND FOR 10 MINS WHILE HOLDING YOUR HARVEY 2 YEAR OLD. NO! SHE WAS RUDE AND NOT UNDERSTANDING. I WILL NEVER GO BACK AGAIN.
