We love going during happy hour because they have a great discount on the beer/win and sushi. This place was really good. The fish tasted fresh and their soups are also really good. I liked how much variety they had as well. It was pricey but worth it. This used to be our go to sushi place in Foothill Ranch but our last experience has left us disappointed and hungry We came last Thursday and ordered our food to go. 2 very simple orders, we waited 30 minuets for the order to come out and when it did it was wrong, they took the food back and said it would just be a few minutes to fix. Another 30 minuets went by and I had enough, I went up to the counter and asked them to go check on it. Apparently it was sitting on the sushi bar counter for a long while. The rolls were falling apart the fish was warm and the soup was cold. The wait staff was rude and didn't seem to care that we had been waiting for over an hour and they dismissed us like we were bothering them. Very disappointed all around, won't be returning there for a long while. read more

Second time here, service staff was very rude today, it was not even that busy in the restaurant but the host or server or who was working the register was literally yelling at customers waiting to order. I stuck it out because last time the food was decent. But just got back to work with my ramen order only to discover they use store bought 99 cent ramen packs for their noodles.. just disgusting, and not to mention they charge over $10 for this not fresh garbage. Won't be back . As a restaurant opertaion consultant I will give this place some advice, quality and service are the only reasons people will become patrons. Ozen has always been one of my local favorites. Small and cozy and friendly staff. It can get busy early on a Friday night. We try and hit up the spot at least once a month. A good sushi place in my honest opinion is to have legitimate sushi chefs and daily fresh seafood. There "spicy tuna" was really good and of course fresh and the "unagi" was really tasty. They do have happy hour so if you plan on going, go early and take advantage of that. Cozy place and they do have a decent size sushi bar and it's also good for kids and small groups. Went for a little bite to eat. Saw the dinner specials, asked about them, ordered it and then added the seaweed salad and the cucumber salad. They brought salads first and then we waited a half hour for the rest, but somehow they did not understand we ordered the special and so we had to wait a little bit longer for our dinner. Sort of a downer, but it was pretty good. I loved the different American type sushis on the menu! Very clever. One word, Wow. Stumbled in here before a movie, so good. We were here during Happy Hour. We had 4 orders of Yellowtail sushi, 1 tuna roll and the Salmon Lemon Roll. The yellowtail was like butter, the tuna and salmon were very tender. We were shocked by the size of the tuna roll pieces, at least silver dollar with a lot of tuna in them. The Salmon Lemon roll was very different, in a good way. Lemon ponzu sauce on top was delicious. We can't wait to go back. Happy Hour S-Th 6-9p and F-Sat 8-10pm. read more

This place has good sushi however the customer service doesn't reflect it. In house service is decent but if your placing an order over the phone be prepared to wait. I called and was asked if I can hold on, I waited for 10 min with no reply. Finally hung up and then called back several times and the line was busy. read more

I went to grab some sushi this past weekend and ate it outside, I was so excited to try this place after reading the reviews but it was shocking, the food was terrible, my friends tossed most of theirs in the trash, the person that took our orders had the worst attitude! Happy hour here is the best. We usually go to Zen Sushi (same menu) in Aliso Viejo but was in this area and stopped here. We didn't realize it was the same owners till we saw the menu. The happy hour menu had every thing on it that we usually get, so that was a plus. The service was great, which we are not used to at Zen in Aliso. We will definitely keep going back. read more

This is a great place for the family. My son ate 8 orders of salmon(16 pieces) and my daughter ate 6 orders of it(12 pieces). They said it is the best sushi they have ever eaten. I've come here a few times as I live in the area. This place used to be AYCE but Is not anymore . I give 3 stars because the sushi is just okay really nothing special and can be a little pricey. What knocks down a star is that the servers / hostesses are RUDE every single time. I got laughed at for asking for extra soy sauce because they thought I got enough. I had to ask 3 times and she kept saying I already had 2 packets. It doesn't matter if I want extra, I should get it with out question or being laughed at.
