And they are speedy with a ton of employees helping out with the amount of people they are serving! Decor is super bright and open. They have many seating options a which is nice. I love the variety of offerings they have on their menu! And the menu is quite large. I ordered a freshly squeezed OJ and the VEGGIE omelette (Seasoned guacamole, mushrooms, baby spinach, roasted red peppers, scallions and goat cheese) but subbed cheeses and added pesto. As I write this now, they forgot the guac. The OJ is fine (I prefer more pulp) but a great start to the meal. The omelette is huge! I am not kidding, this was 3 meals for me! It comes with a very small portion of their potatoes which were fine but not warm or crispy. You also get two slices of toast but there is a sub charge for sourdough (again - based on their website, they don't have sourdough but brioche so we got that). I got the pesto philly steak skillet and a mango drink. My friend got a coffee and pancake. Service was pretty good. My steak skillet was not bad but it would be better if there was less pesto. Portion size was big. I was surprised that they were not busy the last time I showed up. I remember when they first open there would always be a wait. Note that this location doesn't have free parking. They do have a paid parking lot downstairs. The decor of the place was nice. All Pür & Simple have the same or similar layout and design. Went for breakfast at Pur and Simple on Main Street in Vancouver this time. The place is super busy especially at the breakfast hour. It has now become my go to place whenever I am looking for filling yummy and healthy breakfast options. I really love the French toast and it's one thing that I always order. Simply delicious. Also tried veggie omelette this time. It had stuffing of variety of veggies and mushroom with guacamole, bread toast and fried potatoes on the side. We really loved it as well. Very fresh and healthy. Service was great and the ambience inside restaurant is nice as well. The portion size is really good and fair for the price as well. I always say this place is like Cora's but better quality. A Sunday classic in my eyes. The coffee is 6/10 but I think the quality of the food is great for the price. This was one of our fav places to go for brunch, for the waffles and smoothies. Food was very good, not outstanding, but a great place to go with friends and family. I haven't been there for a couple of years and I was shocked at how it changed, and not for the better. There were a lot of people waiting and inside there were so many tables just there, dirty, nobody taking care of it. The service was terrible, polite, but terrible, the waiter never came by to see if we wanted more coffee, brought the food but did not clear up to have space to put the plates, and it was very hard to understand. The once awesome potatoes were soggy and the portion was half of what it was. I ordered avocado toast and it was disgusting. They didn't toast the bread so it was all soggy, I just ate the tiny egg on top and the one tiny piece of tomatoe. The coffee was bad, the service was bad, the place is dirty, and on top of all that got massive stomach ache afterwards. I bet they don't even follow basic hygenic rules. We ordered just prior to a rush of people however the 10 people seated after us received their orders before us. We were a party of two who had simple orders so we asked our waiter to check on things and he LAUGHED at us, saying it's busy. I was shocked. I've never had such abysmal customer service. We waited 45 minutes for food (while watching the people who came in after us eat) and when it finally arrived it was incorrect and room temperature, hard to believe it hadn't been ready sooner. BEWARE OF FAKE 5 STAR REVIEWS! Apologies for the lack of pictures, I wasn't planning on writing a review until the server came around with the bill - she gave us a small card with a QR code and wrote her name in Sharpie. She said that if we wrote a 5-star review on Google AND specifically called her out by name in the post (which was written on the card), she would waive the coffee off our bill. I was pretty surprised because I've been here once before around the time they opened, but this happened only on the 2nd time I visited a few weeks ago. I'm not sure if this is a regular restaurant tactic, but I've been to places that would give incentives for an 'honest review', which I don't mind, but this was quite blatant demanding that it MUST be 5-star AND we must use her name in the post. Story time aside, I'll also give an honest review of the food: RAY'S EXTRAVAGANZA ($19.50): Pretty decent Hollandaise sauce, the potatoes were not as good as the first time I came (it was a bit soft). Very filling as it's a huge portion of potatoes lining the skillet with some bacon, ham, sausage, peppers and tomatoes on top. 6.5/10 NORWEGIAN BENEDICT ($22.25): My second time getting this, and it's pretty standard, you can't really go wrong with it. Again, lots of squishy potatoes, smoked salmon and I like the capers on top. I got spicy Hollandaise, which isn't really spicy. Get some hot sauce on the side if you'd like a real kick. 7/10 WAFFLE & FRUITS ($17.75): Absolutely horrible, the waffle was very soggy and doughy. Came with a handful or fruit such as blueberries, bananas, and strawberries. Very disappointing waffle, probably the worst one I've had ever. 1/10 The wait wasn't too bad (20min) on a weekend around 11am. I like the location as it's right next to Metrotown, so there's plenty of parking around. The atmosphere is quite nice, and large washrooms. There's not a whole lot of nice brunch places in Burnaby, and this place is just okay to save you the wait. My friend calls Pur and Simple her little hidden gem brunch spot-- she absolutely loves it, has come many times & finally brought us here for her birthday. After trying out their brunch, I can absolutely understand why she adores this place so much! This was the east van location! I walked in and immediately felt at ease with how spacious & cutely decorated it is inside. Our waiter was amazing & super attentive. He gave excellent recommendations for a first-timer like myself! He was also quite chatty, which I appreciate and thinks it's adds to the overall experience. Granted, the place wasn't busy at the time (since it was a weekday) and I assume that's why everything felt more chill and relaxed at the time. What I like about their dishes is that they have a good balance of both sweet & savoury in one plate and the price is good for the big portions that they offer! I'm very confused by the bad reviews. I have ordered from here a few times online and been in person and I've never been disappointed. I would definitely suggest going in person in stead as breakfast food can ALWAYS be iffy ordering in especially eggs but I've still never been upset. (Definitely should have a shredded hash brown option tho although theirs are still good I think they can be improved or have options. I really wanted to love this spot more. The ambiance and location can't be beat. Parking may be a little challenging in the area but free parking is not available if you're willing to walk a block or two. My 3 stars is based mostly on the foods. I would almost go as far as it's only deserving of 2 but the attentive (almost hovering) service redeemed another star. From the point we walked in, we were greeted warmly. Our full party took almost 30mins to arrive but we didn't felt rushed to order at all. The space was really bright and spacious. It never really filled up during my visit. Our coffee order was brought over promptly and refills for drip coffee came by often. Three of my friends ordered variations of the avocado toast. It was beautifully presented but really lacking in the avocado department when it should be one of the stars in the dish. My friend spoke up after eat one slice of toast and they came back with two side dishes of what looks like guacamole. Even though the menu does say guacamole, that's really not what comes to mind when you order avocado toast. However my friends were happy with the guac and finished their plates. My other friend ordered a classic eggs benny. One egg was poached soft, oozy yolk just as it should. However the other yolk was rock hard. My friend didn't say anything and left the yolk behind. Pretty disappointing to say the least! My breakfast skillet was served with a soft poached egg as requested. It didn't have as much meat as I would like but because of all the potatoes, it was a very filling plate. I would say the portions are fair for the prices but not overly generous. What started off as an ok experience turned into a very disappointing brunch. We went to this new brunch place and in the beginning everything was good. The servers were nice and our brunch choices were decent. I am usually lenient on stars if I enjoy the service. But while we were finishing up (still had food on my plate as did my wife) the server came by and asked us if we were finished and would like a to go box. I'd given no indication we were done so I said we were still working on our food. At first I was confused but I let it go. A few minutes later the server brought a box that I hadn't asked for and said "just in case". At this point it was evident they were in a rush to clear our table as tables beside us were empty now they were probably waiting to seat a big party. We had two tables (seating for four) but that's how we were seated. Then the server was more or less standing near our table waiting for us to go. My wife was finally finished and went to use the washroom. At this point another server/bus person came and said I was more than welcome to stay at my seat but could they get our other table ready. Wow, rush us some more. This was totally unacceptable. Now if we had been finished and we were just sitting there talking I might understand. But to rush us while we were still eating then not even wait to clear our tables, well you definitely lose a customer. read more

We were a large table, roughly 11 people and this restaurant could not keep up. The food took a tremendous amount of time. It was noticeablely long especially when you have to be back at work. Without any explanation, a different server seemed to take over our section. We made him aware of these issues and asked for separate checks. When he brought our check (all together) he said he wanted to comp our entire meal but the system only let him take 15% off. We asked again for the checks to be separate which he brought back saying he took 35% off but the prices on our checks were the same as the menu. our checks were brought back the third time with 20% off. I LOVED my first dine in experience at Pur and Simple, so much so, that I told my brother that this is where I want to celebrate my birthday brunch over the weekend, making that two visits in one week. This Mount Pleasant location is spacious and bright with plenty of natural lighting thanks to the big floor to ceiling windows. There are plenty of tables socially distanced with plexiglass in between each table. Staff are wearing masks and there is hand sanitizer throughout the restaurant. For a Saturday morning, my friend and I were expecting to wait a long time as with most brunch restaurants in the city, however, we were pleasantly surprised when we got a table right away (a spacious one, right next to the windows at that!). Their menu is one of the largest breakfast menus I've seen in the city. There are options on options on option! Everything from skillets, to omelettes, to breakfast sandwiches, to french toast, to waffles, and so much more. My friend and I had the hardest time deciding on what to choose because everything looked so good! We ultimately decided to split two dishes: the chorizo eggs benedict and the ri ri crunch french toast (topped with banana, blueberries, pecans, and caramel). To drink, we each got a coffee, and I also got a caesar, as I do at brunch! Everything came out quickly and looked picture perfect. I loved every single bite. I'm very much a savoury breakfast person, so my preference leaned more towards the eggs benny (which was perfectly cooked and flavoured), but even I loved the french toast, because of how tasty it was. I was a bit surprised with how pricey the dishes were, but after seeing how large and generous the portions were, I'm not surprised one bit. Place is bright and inviting with a varied and extensive menu. We ordered the poutine, breakfast burrito and eggs benny on avocado toast. All were served with a generous portion of hash browns. The hash browns were the ultimate star of show - well seasoned, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The poutine and burrito were well enjoyed, but the eggs benny were a disaster. I've never in my entire life been served hard boiled eggs benny. Furthermore, the avocado toast was just a slice of bread with a dollop of store bought liquidy guacamole. I like hard boiled eggs, but not for eggs benny, and although I too like guacamole, it's sure a poor substitute for avocado toast. Talk about cutting corners. I voiced my concerns to our server who apologized and assured me that she'd relay this to the kitchen. First impressions are lasting impressions. read more
