Ordered a Chang's spicy chicken and it was so delicious, props to the cooks for making the perfect meal

Dan dan noodles were a total bust, but the spicy eggplant was excellent. The one thing I really enjoy is the ambiance, I always feel so relaxed coming here. Worth the over priced Chinese food. Not impressed. Our server was "On Point" but the food was blah. Spicy chicken and a bowl of hot and sour soup. we did a side of fried garlic green beans (to oily) and diatomite shrimp (reduced pieces...maybe 8 total). Over all, very sub-standard. I don't know what has happened to PF Changs, but their food has gone down in quality, and is not very good. The service was good, and the server was pleasant and helpful, but was unable to make up for the kitchen. The spring rolls were cooked in old oil, and smelled bad. the main entrees were tasteless, and unappetizing. The last few times we have visited we have noticed a steady decline in the quality of the food. Hopefully it changes, because I probably won't be back. read more

The filthy counter top which had zero patrons at the bar while the bartender was assembling setups for who might come in. Food and service were good and professional but they refused to lower the lights around the perimeter of the restaurant which was like eating at a Dennys with interrogation lights on you. Been here in the past and the lights were lowered by 25% more which makes the atmosphere 50% better which any manager should know. Years ago I ate at a PF Chang's and for reasons I can't remember, I did not like it. So I got it in my mind that I did not like PF Chang's. Over the past few months I have been to this PF Chang's several times and I have been pleasantly surprised. The food is quite good and the service is very good too. This restaurant has moved up to the top of my favorite places to eat as far as "chain" restaurants go. The egg rolls are the best I've ever had and their dumplings are really good too. Went there to watch the world series at the bar. The game sucked! The food and service were GREAT! We had wine which was not too expensive, I think $5 a glass for the house wine. And for dinner we had the price fixe menu for two which included soup, one appetizer, two entrees and two mini desserts. Price was $40 for the dinner. Not too bad as we had leftovers. We sat at the bar, therefore didn't have to wait for seating. But for a Wednesday night there were plenty of people waiting to be seated. Good food. Some dumbass I work with tried to argue that PF Chang's was just another over-priced Chinese restaurant. I found it to be a more upscale, over-priced Chinese restaurant WITH A FULL BAR!! That was the deal-maker! And, very good service at the bar as well. I will definitely return! I've not tried the PF Chang's in Fresno(closer to where I live, but I'm sure it's just as good). If your a Rice Bowl or Bill Lee's fan you may not like this food. It is fresh and flavorful without, and I need to stress this, not slimey. My wife loves the brown rice. I think they have the best Mongolian beef ever tried. The honey chicken is unique and delicious. Now for negatives, potstickers taste breakfast sausage. It is noisy. The food is good, but the hostess staff is miserable. I come in often to pick up orders and they ask your name, go into the kitchen (I guess) then come back out and completely ignore you- not even giving a status report on the order. Disaster service. Slow and missed orders. No manager visible after misses and not even a stop in. Luckily we made a reservation as we were seated relatively on time but waited nearly 50 mins for our drinks and kids food. They delivered the wrong wine because they were out and told us 5 minutes later as we were saying 'Hhmm something's wrong here'. Understaffed and slow. I went here for lunch with my husband. We tried the eggrole appetizer. It was dripping with grease, inside and out, which made I unappetizing. I ordered the honey shrimp with fried rice and salad. The salad dressing was not good. My shrimp tasted ok while my fried rice was oily. My husband got the honey shrimp, white rice, and the soup. The soup was terrible! It was gelatinous,cold, and tasted awful. My husband said the white rice was cooked well but did not like the chicken. We will not be returning! Came to Bakersfield for business decided to come here for lunch with family we had stickers, ribs, eggrolls (they were cold). Mongolian beef needed more sauce and less green onion. The chow mein was ok the crispy shrimp was over sauced and not crispy very disappointed. We just stopped in the day after christmas and the place was empty! Perfect time to go and catch up. We started out with the lettuce cups which were fine. Then moved on to the entrees: lemon pepper shrimp, spicy asparagus, garlic noodles, and sweet and sour pork which were all fine. Nothing was memorable, but just basic. This place is so amazing!! We love the atmosphere it's very romantic. This restaurant is always clean, staff is very friendly and it has made a great place for our anniversary. For the past four years we have attended this restaurant for our anniversary dinners. We will continue to celebrate our anniversary for as long as this place is in Bakersfield. This is probably one of the worst establishments i've been to in a while, on the menu it states to let you customize your meals because they know everyone's eating habits are different. yet when going to place our order we were informed that we are not able to get the kids menu portions because it's strictly 12 and under. ask our waitress to bring over a manager since it was such an ordeal and then was pretty much told by manger brian since I wasnt going to spend more money on their larger portions (that i couldn't finish ) they weren't willing to be accommodating to the fact I have a small stomach. told me that regular aged adults should be ok with these portions that they were made to share. with an empty restaurant they refused to help serve customers trying to give them our money. beyond disappointed with over all experience and will not be returning to a place where i'm discriminated against for what portion size works for me. read more

Bad service. Asked for candle to be lit twice. Had to ask for condiments (typically condiments are a part of the meal I.e. chili sauce). Our server never once checked on us..they weren't busy, so not sure what may have been his excuse. Don't order a margarita its a waste of $9 comes in an 6 oz glass with too darn much ice. How disappointing. Tonight my husband and I arrived for early dinner and the hostess wanted to seat as at one of those tables that are so close to other people. I come here very often for lunch and dinner. The food is always really delicious and service is always great. A few of my favorites are: salt and pepper shrimp, walnut shrimp, and Mongolian beef. They even have a few gluten free menu items and to top it off, they taste amazing. I have not been disappointed and will definitely keep this place on my list of favorite restaurants. read more

Love this place for dining in, lots of great choices for everyone (I'm vegan, but my family is not) however, their take out has been disappointing on more than one occasion. Last time we did take out one of the items was missing so we had to go back a second time to pick it up. Tonight our order included lettuce wraps (1 chicken and 1 vegetable) and although the girl at the hostess desk assured my husband that the order was complete, he arrived home with no lettuce for the wraps. On top of that, we had ordered extra sauce for everything, but the only type of sauce in the bag was the chili sauce...The sauce for the lettuce wraps and all the other sauces were missing. I will say that the manager was very professional and apologetic and he agreed to take the cost of the lettuce wraps off of our bill. My advice would be to dine in or check your take out order over thoroughly rather than taking anyone's word for it before you leave. read more

Very disappointed! Had a order to go and I had ordered lettuce wraps and was extremely disappointed. They use iceberg lettuce and it was brown, adding insult to injury. Went here for my wife's birthday. Excellent fast service. Sat outside and was immediately bombarded with cigarette smoke from this inconsiderate woman sitting next to me and my wife. Just got up and moved further down. Didn't feel the need to complain. Food is always tasty. This is our second time here and did not let us down. Spiked lemon tea is refreshing! Only thing i can't stand are the big ass pitchfork forks. Wtf? Oh and be prepared to be google eyed if you sit on the patio by passing cars. Not to bothersome.
