Service was so disappointing, got seated then sat for nearly 15 minutes before anyone came to the table in a restaurant that was over half empty. Waitress or manager, not even sure...apologized and promised we'd leave with a great experience....well, took our order and brought us drinks...then no one came back again, wanted to order more drinks and a dessert for my daughter...no one ever came, waiting another 15 mins post meal before the bartender brought our check because we didn't really even have a server. While on a business trip, I consulted Yelp for a good Seafood place near my hotel and found this one. As soon as I walked in, I saw the refrigerated case of poke and ceviches. They gave me a sample of the avocado tuna poke and loved it! I sat in the lounge/bar with the open air feel and ordered a drink. Bartender was friendly and efficient. Then I ordered a few seafood appetizers including the fore mentioned ceviche . Delicious on all counts. I didn't order a dinner, but saw them coming out of the kitchen and they looked sizable and tasty. Beer selection included some good craft brews, wine and cocktails also. Happy hour: we had a group of 9. The waitress was very attentive and efficient. I would give her 5 stars. Food: 3 stars. Coconut shrimp: dried, chewy and overdone. Chicken skewers: bordering on overdone. Nothing inspiring. Ribs: tasty but not a lot of meat. It wasn't fall off the bone but it was the best of our selection. Serrano poke: ok. Macadamia nut poke: ok. Both poke served with chips. Drinks: Kentucky mule: very good. Booth seating was comfortable. Nice ambiance. I love this location of Pacific Catch! The service is great and the space is modern and comfortable but also fun. I've been here a few times and they've started to recognize me and my order now. I always order the Ahi Tuna Salad. It's clean, tasty, and has a sizable portion of seared ahi tuna. It comes with a soy-wasabi vinaigrette with a nice bite that pairs perfectly with the sliced avocado and the ahi. This is quickly becoming my favorite salad! Visiting San Francisco for a business trip, and had dinner at Pacific Catch with a group of colleagues. Open table worked great and no problems with our table being ready right away. Host staff were all very nice and service was prompt and friendly. Food was fresh and good size portions for dinner. The fish dishes were a bit dry for being a white fish, which took away from the overall flavor of the food. The lobster roll was the best meal overall, with a generous portion of lobster in a Hawaiian sweet roll. Definitely would suggest visiting and trying it our for a quick local meal. read more

We love coming to Pacific Catch, mainly because the food is always fresh and portion sizes are exceptional! We always leave satisfied with the food, but our experience with the service has been underwhelming. Multiple times we have been here, we have at some point during our visit said "where is our server?" because it had been so long since they had checked on us. We are rarely in a hurry when we go out to eat, so it's not a huge deal. We just don't go here for food if we know we are short on time. I used to work at Pacific Catch as a server (at a different location a while ago) and moved to Sac where they don't have one :( So I know what its like being a server for this restaurant. This location is the closest one to me without having to go to the Bay Area, and since we were in the area, my husband, infant and I came here on Monday at around 3pm. There was literally two tables when we walked in. Service was incredibly slow. It took more than 15 min to get acknowledged, took forever to get the drinks out, and when food was ready, we noticed it was sitting under the heat lamp for over 5 min and server (Carrie) was no where to be found. While I do understand somethings happen, there were two tables only, so there should be no excuse for this. Food, on the other hand, was great. Really missed it and was glad I got to try it again, but would have been better if the server was more focused. Expand over to SAC please!! read more

Glad this place opened up in the East Bay! This new establishment is a breath of fresh air for the Tri-Valley & the region, as their trademark hails as a "West Coast Fish House" - in which fresh seafood is the main draw. Before they opened up a location in Dublin, my family and friends have been patronizing their Campbell location, which is pretty much HELLA down in the South Bay. Having been here twice for this particular location, the atmosphere & ambience is vibrant & cheerful, not to mention, lots of space with ample seating & a really near bar area w/ tv's all around. Their servers - Viri & Eric - that had helped us, went above & beyond their means to provide us an exemplary & superb customer service. We were seated promptly and had our waters/beverages served immediately. In addition, they also answered our questions regarding the menu & what specials they offer! In addition, you are able to substitute tofu in any of their entrees (salads, sandwiches, rice bowls) - which is terrific for those wanting their meals to be modified to be vegetarian friendly! You can't really go wrong in whatever you choose to order! Pacific Catch can't be beat for fresh, affordable & reasonable, healthy & a bargain for the quality of food you get! I went here to try the sushi, and went in expecting that it wouldn't be amazing because this isn't a sushi restaurant. But even then I was terribly disappointed. The sushi here is the most flavorless, boring sushi I have ever had. The only thing that had any flavor was the sauce they put on it, and even then it hardly helped. Do the chefs here even try their own food? Who would approve serving something so bland. Avoid the sushi if you come here and stick to the other options. read more

Its was a bit pricey for what you get but is pretty good. My wife and I came in for lunch and got the Poke appetizer, a beef bowl and the fish tacos. This location fully gets it... Their management and team are very attentive and super nice. The Poke selections are totally on point. The fish and chips are perfectly breaded and fried to perfection. Pacific Catch has very friendly waiters, and is very family friendly. Although the prices may be slightly on the expensive side, the food both quality and taste are phenomenal. The menu has many exotic and new foods which makes it very fun to order. This is my third time here, but I've ordered different things each and every time. I strongly recommend the 'Catch of the Day' which features different fish each day with different styles to cook them in. Overall, the food was bursting with flavor, and the experience was amazing. So, I have been pleased with Pacific Catch since they opened, however, I think the place has gone downhill. I ordered a bowl of Salmon Bisque to go. When I got home and opened the small container, it turned out to be all of about three tablespoons of bisque. I paid $9.00 for absolutely nothing! I have not gone back since. The service was terrific, the food not so much. Although the ingredients were great the actual dishes/presentation left a lot to be desired. I ordered the spicy tuna bowl, their signature dish, and while I love spicy tuna rolls, and their spicing of the tuna was good, the presentation was basically a big scoop of spicy tuna "pate" slopped onto a bowl rice and pickled veggies. It, unfortunately, was like eating spicy baby food on rice. I just don't think spicy tuna mixture is meant to be served in that fashion. Similarly the poke chirashi was had good flavors but it just doesn't stand up on its own like Japanese chirashi. I'd MUCH rather have chirashi as it was meant to be. And also let me clarify as well that ingredients--the various interesting seaweeds and pickled vegetables were all great. It was simply the principle ingredient presentation which was less than optimal, for us. The manager, in a quick response to this post, pointed out that the Wasabi bowl and the traditional poke might be more to our tastes. So if you think your concerns might mirror ours, you could consider going for those two dishes. I guess the upshot is this is a very specific type of fusion cuisine which is somewhat disguised from the outside as a more typical California fresh fish restaurant. cheers read more

I've been to the Pacific Catch in Santa Clara, so when I saw this place next to the theater, I decided to try this place out. And it didn't disappoint. I read the menu carefully to see if there are any tropical fruits that I might be allergic to, so I chose the Hawaiian Poke Trio with California style, Original and Salmon Avocado. Happily, they did not sneak in any other ingredients into the food that was not listed on the menu. I also had their special soup of the day, their version of the mexican wedding meatball soup. which was really good, especially with the rain and cold. The only thing that I think they should improve on is the AC. I don't know where the air was coming from, but I felt I was sitting under a wind tunnel. I will happily come back for more. read more
