We had one of their plumbing techs came out on Monday for a leak in our crawl space. The crawl space had water in it, so the tech came up and said we needed the space dried by professionals before work can begin. I checked my email and the tech sent a work order to have (2) 5 foot pipes replaced in the kitchen waste line. Pacific coast home services wanted $4k for this job. WTF? We put floor air movers on the space and had it dried out in 2 days. We then had another plumber come out and do the repair for $650.00 It turns out, the 45* elbow had a crack. It took literally 35 minutes to repair. I would strongly suggest not doing business with these guys. In a time of crisis, I can see how nice people can get conned and ripped off by these crooks.

Just had them come out to fix my circuit breaker. Electrical work is sooo pricey, but they were extremely punctual and professional! Dispatch gave an estimated time of arrival wast between 12pm and 2pm. They showed up at 12 sharp! (Took a few extra minutes to find my bldg b/c my complex is a maze!) They were able to locate the rare breaker switch for my unit. It was a really old model. Got me installed and back in business under an hour, including the round trip to the store to buy the breaker!

TL;DR summary : - Company extremely over-charges for replacement parts - Company does not take ownership to address customer complaints or concerns I have spent more than $5,000 with Pacific Coast to replace my outdoor A/C unit and coil over last couple of years. Recently, I called them again to check out a problem I was having with the new A/C unit. After looking into the problem, the technician diagnosed it to be a broken capacitor that needed to be replaced (unrelated to the new A/C unit). The problem is that they decided to charge me close to $350 for the replacement capacitor (see screenshot of invoice) on top of the $560 charge for the labor costs. I don't mind playing $560 for labor but $350 is extremely excessive for a new capacitor. As it was getting late, I didn't want to make an issue of it with the technician as he had been working hard at it but he assured that they were charging a reasonable market rate for it. So I settled the amount. But after the technician left, I decided to look up how the capacitor costs and it's a $10 part!! So I called back the next day asking to speak to someone about this over-charging. A reasonable markup is to be expected but how can anyone justify charging $350 for a $10 part? Over-charging was the just first step. This was compounded by the fact that no one in position of authority to address my concern would call me back. This service was done in late August 2021 and the only reason why I'm writing this in January 2022 is that I've given this company ample time to address this issue. I called repeatedly and after repeated assurances that someone would call me back, no one did. And what's worse is that every single manager that I was passed on to would ultimately leave the company. I finally was put through to the GM (Jim) who seemed genuinely interested in addressing my complaint. He promised to refund me part of the cost and I was OK with that. Well another two months passed and no refund materialized. I called back yet again and what do you know, that GM has also left the company.

Michael came out to my house and walked me through the pros and cons of a heat pump HVAC. For my home, the extra money made no sense. I really do not need central AC. We then talked about a new Carrier, high-efficency furnace. That was exactly what I needed. I also opted for the Ecobee Smart, wi-fi enabled thermostat. I am extremely happy with everything. The price was right. The installation was flawless. The post-intall QA walkghrough, by Johnny, went really well. ThenI worked with the folks that checked all the boxes post-intalleation. HERS test was easy with a pass.. Today, we passed the inspection, in under 5 minute. Every person I dealt with was amiable and professiona. The office staff always very nice. Michael Calvey was a joy to talk to. Thank you to Johnny, the project manager, and the folks from HOPSTER that facilitated the post-installation test and inspectioin. From start to finish I met with Michael on February 12th. The 16th the new furnace was intalled. February 17th Johnny did the QA walkthrough. February 18th HOPSTER did their pre-test and inspection walkthrough. The HERS test was done February 23rd. March 5th the city inspection was complete. My tenant told me AC doesn't work, I went to check the thermostat, it looks fine, then AC seem to…read moreworking again. The next day, I got another call the AC failed to work again, I replaced air filter. But the next day, tenant again said the AC doesn't work. Finally, I realized it's out of my ability. I called IRBIS to check up. IRBIS sent technician Christian Lopez to my rental house, he carefully asked the symptom from me, since I don't live there, he again asked directly from tenant to get first hand information. Then he checked up thermostat, and outdoor compressor, measured the air temp from ventilation. Finally, he told me that he believed the AC is working, even though it already has 21 years of age. Because my tenant doesn't run AC during the day, so the room temp goes too high, by the time they came back around 9pm, outside temp is low, but inside is hot, in that situation, the old AC is not able to bring the temp down. So he suggested tenant to run the AC little early during the afternoon, see what happen. The AC works so far. Christian and IRBIS are very honest and professional. I definitively recommend them if you have AC problem!
