It didn't work out for various reasons from: inability to simply schedule appropriately, to offering impractical solutions (one suggested drilling rows of holes in my ceiling..) Of my entire experience of hiring people for work I have not encountered such intense greed if it should even be called that. What I experienced from this company is nothing short of a scam. I am not reviewing their work, only their inspection and quote of the work plan. It's very near the holidays and they may feel that termite is scary and people don't have time shop around. Well I'm the type that if the price feels right and company seems professional I sometimes do not ask for multiple quotes elsewhere. Even with no knowledge of what it takes for this type of job I knew the price they quoted was beyond wild. I expressed my reaction in which they asked if I want them to ask the owner for a discount. Red flag! If you are doing honest business you will have a set price. I called another company with also great reviews and similar presence here on yelp. I was shocked that with the same exact job (spot treating termite sites around the house and repairing all damaged wood plus prime and paint) they quoted me a price about 1/5 of this company. I literally saved more than 14k by not going with this one. This company wanted to charge me $15,800 just to patch up the small wood areas for 3-4 spots outside the home which was the most absurd part of all. Do yourself a favor and don't have this company be your only quote. I'm so glad I put out the extra effort for a second quote and the other company I'm going with is even more professional than this one. Response to her reply: I might have used the wrong vocabulary which became a loophole for this snake of a company to manipulate the meaning of my review. Here is to clarify. Both companies came out to inspect and promised to replaced wood, and make new anything that have issues. Because not a whole chunk of the building has to be removed but just pieces of the wood (which both companies clearly stated) that's why I used the term "patch." Both companies spent as much time to look for termites problems spots. Not only the quoting on the cosmetics part of the job vastly contrast but also the portion of the plan for injecting treatment to the termite site was only 1/3 of the price. (For both companies, these two jobs are broken down as two separate costs). The other company in no ways is inferior to yours as your response insinuate. In fact they have better reviews with no one mentioning high and ridiculous prices. "We told homeowner this would take about a week." NO such thing was said to us. Ever. For these types of projects not only are they expensive but at the end of the day you don't see any visible results for all the effort involved, which makes it all the more difficult to pull the trigger. I found evidence of drywood termites in my house, and Pacific Termite was responsive, prompt, and provided a lot of flexibility of getting an inspector out. From there, their inspection was thorough, well documented, and options were well communicated. I did receive multiple inspections, but Pacific's made me the most confident in their ability. Sadly the inspections turned up both drywood and subterranean termites, which would require both subterranean treatment and fumigation. All the treatments were well communicated, with a lot of options provided to work around my schedule. I don't have great service during the work day but Pacific was sure to leave voicemails, texts, and emails (at my request) to be sure I didn't miss any important updates. The fumigation company they used were also consummate professionals. They arrived promptly and took the time to go over the process, took additional care with my neighbors properties that were impacted, and left everything in good order. They also found a lot of cellulose debris under the house, and provided the service of having it removed, which was non trivial when all was said and done, and again, left my property just as good as they found it, despite the debris that got pulled out. Overall, while having termites is always upsetting and stressful, Pacific made it as painless as I could have hoped for. read more
