    Fried Chicken sando
    Madeline T.

Coffee and drinks were great! We were not a fan of the fried chicken menu items ( ordered the chicken waffle and chicken sando) , both did not have much flavors go them. The chicken waffle doesnt come with syrup or any seasoning to it and the sando is just the lettuce, fried chicken, buttered buns, and a quarter of a pickle (with your choice of sides) service was nice, but beware they dont take apple pay. But the views and location is stunning!

Nice ocean view from this little cafe. You order from the counter and they bring your food to your table. Food was good but nothing special. Dog friendly patio. There's a couple of high tables inside but the majority of the seating is outside.

    Amazing view with delicious food

Great view and very yummy food would definitely come back and order the same food. Also had a great variety of drinks.

    Chicken BLAT Wrap

Stopped here before an appointment I had in the plaza for a quick bit. The staff was freely and the view is great. The patio is perfect to eat and get some work done. I had the Chicken BLAT wrap. The chicken tasted a little funny to me. It's thick cut deli cut meat. I also grabbed my favor coconut water. Great for a quick meal.

I really love coming to the Del Mar Plaza (San Diego, CA). Amazing views and awesome ocean breeze. I was looking for something quick and easy in the area (in between appointments) and ended up at Pacifica Breeze Cafe. I visited in June 2021 and tried their Wild Mushroom Omelet (wild mushrooms, spinach, brie, and herb hollandaise). Food was pretty good but the location and views were amazing! Prices are really reasonable (order at counter, pick a table, put your number down, and food will be brought out to you when ready). ENJOY!!

Caesar with Sugar - spiced Salmon and House Made Yam Chips

I can't believe I've never dined here before. I never even noticed it on my way to Pacifica Del Mar but a friend wanted to get lunch here a couple weekends ago. SO HAPPY she picked this spot and brought it to my attention. I love the casual feeling and open space environment this spot has right under Pacifica Del Mar. The view is stunning and relaxing. The restaurant is kind of fast casual. You order at a register but then get a number and your food is brought to you. My friend & I shared the yam chips. Get these! Don't even think twice. They were so good, I might not share next time. The Caesar salad with salmon was exactly what I was craving. Something light and refreshing but still super fulfilling and satisfying. My plate was almost licked clean. No bad bites! Service was fast and friendly and the downstairs lot is free for 2 hours. The perfect amount of time to lunch and even shop a little!

My sister had a gift card and treated Mom and me here for breakfast. What a treat it was! We ordered from a friendly, helpful young man at the counter. Then we sat at our table and enjoyed the beautiful view. Mom and I got the Two Egg Breakfast with Bacon and Potatoes, English Muffin for her, Sourdough Toast for me. Sis got a Breakfast Burrito with Fruit. Nice cold beverages completed our meals. Everything was delicious and lovely.

Very friendly service but the food was just pretty basic. Not much love or creativity put into it. The outdoor ambiance is nice. Fresh orange juice 10/10 Parfait plate 9/10 Breakfast sandwich 2/10 Breakfast burrito 4/10 The roasted potatoes seriously need seasoning. They use such standard ingredients here and don't even taste like they put salt and pepper on their food. It'd be nice if they stepped up their flavor game but I doubt they really care to.

    Avocado toast

Waited 25 minutes for this and paid 9$. I never order avocado and toast now I know why. Better idea go to market deli in the same shopping center

Coffee, mimosa and a great view!

Don't get beers here, they are flat and gross. The server was confused when I asked for something clearly displayed on the menu.

We went with the wine tasting flight and it was a great way to explore their lineup. I usually go for the Zinfandel, but this time the Sauvignon Blanc ended up being my favorite--bright, crisp, and super refreshing. The Rosé, "Unicorn," Zinfandel, and Cabernet all brought their own solid character too, from light and fruity to rich and structured. Perfect spot in Cedros Design District to grab a glass, relax on the front patio, and people watch after walking the shops. Super chill coastal vibe, friendly service.

Our large group has attended Sunset Trivia for 6+ years across San Diego. We are exactly the kind of repeat customers businesses usually want to acquire during weekly events like trivia nights. This was our first time at Carruth Cellars. One member of our group arrived early and specifically asked about the menu. She was told the food menu was small and that most people bring in or order outside food. At no point did the brunette woman behind the counter mention restrictions on outside beverages or that purchases were expected in order to participate in trivia. Later, one friend's bottled soda needed a bottle opener, and when my husband politely asked the woman at the counter for help, she abruptly refused and informed him outside drinks were not allowed. Shortly after that, she came to our table and told us trivia was "for patrons only." The issue is not that the business wants customers to purchase something. That is completely understandable. The issue was the hostile, reactive way it was handled after we had already settled in -- especially when there were multiple opportunities earlier to simply communicate expectations politely and proactively. What felt especially shortsighted is that while many trivia attendees there may already be established wine club members, our group represented a completely different type of long-term customer opportunity. We are regular trivia goers who rotate between locations weekly, and businesses that create a welcoming atmosphere naturally earn repeat food and beverage purchases from us over time. Instead, rather than making new customers feel welcome and encouraging future spending organically, the interaction immediately made us feel scrutinized and unwelcome. Had the experience been warm and inviting instead of confrontational, there is a very good chance Carruth Cellars would have gained a recurring trivia group willing to spend money there week after week. One of our teammates later tried to respectfully explain that it was our first visit and that none of these expectations had been communicated upfront. The disgruntled employee responded that it was "implied" people should purchase something. Good hospitality does not rely on guests guessing unstated rules. We walked away feeling like the business was more focused on policing potential customers than creating an environment that actually encourages people to return and spend money voluntarily. The woman working on the evening of May 19th was not a positive representation of your winery, and if this is how guests are treated, it raises serious concerns about how new customers are being welcomed.

We each got to order a pot of tea, so we decided to order 5 different ones to try out more flavors together. The ones we picked were: -Jasmine orange oolong - Coconut milk green tea - Earl grey lavender - Vanilla cream -Strawberry rose champagne oolong tea My top two favorites were the jasmine orange oolong and the coconut milk green tea. The only flavor that none of us enjoyed was the strawberry rose champagne oolong tea, so when it came time for refills, we switched it to the rouge provence. For the food, there were four finger sandwiches: chicken breast, smoked salmon, cucumbers, and chopped spinach. We all liked the chicken breast one the most, and felt like the cucumbers and chopped spinach could have been combined into one sandwich for a more balanced flavor. For sweets, there was the seasonal scone, fruit tart, macaron, and donut. I loved the scone with the butter and fruit preserves, as well as the fruit tart. The service was polite, but a bit slow and we waited a while before our food arrived. There was only one person who was serving the entire afternoon tea area, so it's understandable that there's a longer wait. All in all, I would definitely come back for another afternoon tea experience!

Simple, fresh ingredients, though I think it could have been even better with an extra flavorful spread. The pasta salad on the side was super fresh and honestly delicious. I also loved the tangerine juice. The prices are pretty high, but that's to be expected in a Del Mar. Big bonus points for the free iced tea by the water station. Such a nice touch. Overall a great neighborhood spot with a great vibe. Excited to come back and try more of the menu.
