First off: the pancakes are fire! Like other reviews have named the down side of this spot is the service. I went on the Monday after 4th of July. Unfortunately they did not have enough staff on the clock to smoothly and quickly not only seat folks but to take their orders. Other then then the service the pancakes are good I got the blueberry pancakes (where the blueberries weren't inside and just in top idky) my friend got the Lemon ricotta pancakes. We both got sides of eggs and bacon/sausage. The portions are SMALL! I would advise to get a stack if your hungry since there pancakes are a bit thin and the eggs and Sausage comes in a small dish together. Very good albeit over-worked servers. The place has been packed both times I've eaten there. I had the same items both times. Issues, if there's a crowd and you're alone you might be seated at these poorly designed wall benches with a cocktail, most are not balanced. There are no back cushions on the bench, so you may hit a piece of trim square to your back and spine when you slide in. I did both times. Now the food. I ordered the Patty Melt (both times) which came with 2 stacked beef patties, melted American cheese, Russian dressing on multigrain bread with tatter tots and cucumber salad. The burgers take up 2/3rds of the bread' leaving an empty 1/3rd of thick cut naked bread. Indulged in two pieces of American Cheese, but I had to ask for a ramekin of Russian dressing and a side of grilled onions...a solid no show on the onions...both times. This is not a normal, abstract or deconstructed Patty Melt, it is an attempt to impress you with meat and fixings, just the wrong or missing fixings. It is somewhat overwhelming because this isn't what you think, it's a damn cheese burger, minus lettuce, tomato, onion and a special sauce. Although the burgers were cooked correctly, both medium rare, the lack of Russian dressing, the non-grilled, grilled onions, and the clincher, fuckin American Cheese. I asked about the Swiss cheese that was in the menu description, and was told, both times, they didn't use Swiss cheese. Wtf. The tatter tots were...tater tots. The cucumber salad was the most Devine food ever. Light, tart, sweet all in perfect balance, squarely the best salad you can get anywhere in town, it is sublime. The coffee. Never steaming hot, more like warm bath water and never a creamer in site so you'll have to maneuver adding cream to your coffee with a rocks glass. That never works. The tap water was presented in a bottle and became a welcome cool respite from strong Lukewarm coffee, no decaf available. The Pancake Social Patty Melt, $16 The Pancake Social cup of Joe, $3 I left an $8 and a $10 tip. Will I go back? Yes, with one or more friends for a basic breakfast. read more

Tried out this spot for breakfast on a Saturday morning. Definitely advise getting there early as it's located at the entrance of Ponce City Market in Atlanta and gets crowded quickly. We were able to snag a booth inside but as we were leaving there was definitely a line to get in. The place is super cute and we were greeted immediately. The service was quick, however, the taste of food was underwhelming and the temperature of food was lukewarm at best. Opted for the breakfast plate which is eggs, grits, potato pancake (hashbrown) meat of choice, and toast which can be subbed out for a pancake, waffle, or French toast. You can't go to a place called Pancake social without trying the pancake so we subbed our toast!! The pancakes and grits were pretty good though I will say that. We decided to try Pancake Social on a whim. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon right around 1pm and they appeared busy on the outside but there was plenty of open tables inside so we were promptly seated for a party of two. Our server was Arianna(?) whom was the sweetest and has a new addition on the way but that didn't stop her from being an outstanding server. For our drinks we ordered a Peach Mimosa & Mixed Berry Lemonade. Our table order was as follows; 1) Pancake Plate with Apple Cinnamon Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs and Chicken Sausage. 2) Chicken & Pancakes with an additional add on of Strawberries and Powdered Sugar. Side of fried hard eggs. Overall I rated the food a 6/10 because there was just something off about my scrambled eggs both taste and texture wise. My fiancé gave it a 8/10, it's breakfast so there's very little that can go wrong in his eyes. Our total came out to about $64 which I feel is a bit overpriced for the quality of the meal but I'm sure most of it is because of location. It is rare that I come away from a meal with literally nothing positive to say, but this place pulled it off. Put in name for table - told it'll be 20-30 minutes and they'll text us. Come back after 45 - somehow they forgot to text us. No big deal - they find us a table and seat us quickly. Table is filthy etc...but ok, lets just deal and move along (worth mention it's a Sunday morning so the place is PACKED and we're trying not to be a pain in the butt). Waitress comes over. Takes drink order. Brings coffee and milk. No spoons, no cutlery rolls, no stirring devices of any kind. Goes to take our order: we try to get the pimento cheese as an app to share - are told they're out of it (again, no big deal) but that we might, strangely, like the hot chicken instead? Like...kinda weird suggestion but...ok. Waitress then takes main course order from one party member and walks away. I guess she thought we were going to get that one order of pancakes for an appetizer? She comes back - we laugh about the mix up and she takes the orders from two more members of our party...and then goes to walk away again, leaving me without having placed an order - more or less had to flag her down so I could place my order. Kept it simple: pancakes, eggs, sausage (two party members have this, one had the patty melt, and one had the ricotta lemon pancakes). An hour. We waited a full hour for food to show up - and while I understand it's crowded, this is not exactly gourmet dining. It's freakin pancakes. IHOP can roll people in and out in a matter of 20 minutes...so really no excuse for that. But honestly, I wish it'd taken longer. Lets break down what we wound up with: Coffee - grounds in every cup after drinking. Lemon-ricotta pancakes - raw in the middle - tasted OK other than that once syrup was poured on (the wateriest syrup of all time which we also had to ask for because container on table was empty - and we had to use a lot of it because the promised powdered sugar was nowhere in sight) - oh and were delivered a solid 10 minutes before any of the other food because, of course, that had been taken as an appetizer order Side of fruit with local honey - no honey Pancakes w/eggs and sausage - they screwed up which meats came out but we were tired of waiting so dealt with it. Chicken sausage was nasty, eggs inedible after sitting under a heat lamp for lord knows how long. Pancakes were good. Patty melt - cheese unmelted, bread a soggy disgusting mess - waitress' response was 'Oh it's usually toasted'. Description on menu includes cucumber salad but that never showed...guess it's still under the heat lamp with the local honey and the powdered sugar? Water - best thing we had was the ice water. It was cold and plentiful and only had to be requested 3 or 4 times. To her credit waitress offered to have food swapped out but after waiting an hour, we were out of time. What followed was some of the most uncomfortable interaction as the manager offered to take 15% off the sandwich that was not eaten. The person who ordered it chuckled because that's honestly a stupid offer for this meal of errors - manager then offers to take 50% off the whole meal, which would have been lovely - but she then gave me the bill to pay and only took 50% off the one dish. I wasn't about to continue to awkward conversation, so I paid and we left. What I wanted more than ANYTHING was just for the awkward staring to end as they waited for us to tell them something else I guess? Oh and we double tipped because we thought money had been taken off. I actually went to the waitress specifically to make sure she saw we had left her cash - and she said "Can I just say one more thing?" - oy vey, but ok - "You should have told me the table was dirty so I would have wiped it down" - alright, now LOOK HERE missy, you're telling me you don't wipe down tables between customers? I have to ASK for that? At a restaurant with crazy watery maple syrup you don't wipe down the tables as SOON as the customers leave???? Naw fam...that was it. I'm done here. Just walked away. I'm sure the place would do better when not crowded but they absolutely CANNOT handle a crowd. Every single bit of this meal was terrible from start to finish. Fortunately I'm not from the area so odds are I'd never be there again anyway...but this meal was so bad I'm tempted to move to Atlanta just so I can intentionally never go here again. read more

So we walked downstairs to Pancake social and surprisingly and thankfully the wait was not long at all just a few minutes. The menu had a lot of options that i would love to go back and try but I felt it appropriate to try the name staple item and I have no regrets. The apple cinnamon pancakes were really good and so were the sides. I do wish the cheese added to grits were blended in and a bit creamier. I could've also done with a bit more apple cinnamon sauce over the pancakes so I could get more of that flavor and use less of the maple syrup. However that's just personal preference nothing wrong with the serving. Overall it was a good meal and I will be going back to try other things. read more

10/10, my favorite breakfast spot in Atlanta. Every time I go though, I have to get the chia seed pudding, it is just too good to pass up on... It is seriously so good but just a little sweet. The scoop of lemon curd that they pair with this just transcends the dish. I have gone with other people and have gotten to try their bacon and pancakes which are both good. I was pleasantly surprised that there wasn't a wait at 10 am on Sunday, and we were easily able to get an outdoor table. It started raining near the end of our meal, so I was grateful for most of the outdoor tables being covered. We placed our orders at the counter, and the servers were super friendly and helpful! My disappointment came with the pancakes themselves. I ordered the banana oatcakes and was confused why they didn't come with bananas on top. I ordered sliced bananas after getting my pancakes, which cost an additional dollar. The pancakes themselves tasted just okay to me, and I couldn't taste any banana flavor. I make banana oatcakes frequently at home, and these lacked flavor in comparison. The granola was a nice touch but wasn't enough to make it a particularly enjoyable dish. With the added banana slices, the cost was $13, which felt too high for the quality. Maybe if this place wasn't selling themselves on their pancakes, I wouldn't have been as disappointed. You order your food at the front counter and then take your number to a table, which is first come, first serve. The food is brought out as it's cooked. The food unfortunately was just okay, I wish it was better, I was expecting amazing pancakes but the food experience really fell flat and our eggs were really cold. Almost like they were cooked first and left to wait for the bacon and pancakes or they were from another order. Ironically the pancakes were delivered 8 mins after we'd received the other items. I arrived here with a group of 10. For those who are planning on coming with a large group please be aware of the unique setup in this restaurant. You order at the counter right when you walk in, they provide you with an order number, you find a table, and after quite a bit of time your food is brought to your table. Our group decided to have half the table order for everyone while the other half of the group secured a table. This is not always going to be possible for a large group, especially if everyone is paying separately. The atmosphere at this restaurant deserves 5 stars. The interior is so unbelievably cute. I loved the seating area as well. Only downfall is that at each table the seating is a mixture of chairs and a stools. It was kind of unfortunate for the people that had to sit for an hour on a stool with no back support while eating. The food was really good. I ordered the falafel sandwich and tried almost all of the dessert options. My favorite was the basic buttermilk pancake. It was SOO good. They were extremely fluffy and the warm syrup made all the difference. I also ordered the apple/beet/strawberry freshly squeezed juice. The beet was pretty strong but very refreshing.
