This Panda Express i like better then the one in kihei. In sorry but it's true. This one had many employees working and the staff were friendly. Walked in and was help immediately ordered what we needed and I was outta there. I ordered the exact same thing when I went to Kiheis panda Express and I paid 5 bucks more! Why is that? I will tell you why is because that lady in Kihei over charged us. I will be coming to this Panda Express from now on. Friendlier and much more honest. I love me the honey walnut shrimp. I've been craving Chinese flavored foods, and with Maui's lack in this department, I ended up settling for a dish from Panda Express at the mall one hungry day. I made the tried and true error of trying to eat 'healthy' at a fast food establishment, by picking the lower cal options (is this even possible with greasy Chinese?) My plate had an enormous serving of the dry and very lackluster chow mein noodles, and a scoop each of the chicken mushroom and beef broccoli, both fairly flavorless and hohum. Between the two, the beef and broccoli was better.... The broccoli was cooked perfectly, though the gravy was bland, I would order this again if I absolutely insist (like a fool) at an additional attempt to eat healthy here. I also tacked on a chicken egg roll and I ate it despite not enjoying it at all. All I can say is that the egg rolls from Jack in the Box are superior in every way, which by now, is where I wish I had gone to satisfy that craving. In the future I am going to go with my hearts true desire and eat a big greasy helping of the orange chicken, sans noodles, sans healthy broccoli, sans oddly flavored egg roll, and wash it all down with a large Sprite for merit! This location at the food court is clean, and seemingly well managed. One star for that, and two stars for a very mediocre meal, which was mostly my fault per my choice making. read more

Time for an update since I strayed and tried a new selection. ATMOSPHERE: This location is inside the Queen Kaahumanu Center food court. They did a small remodel a few years ago, so the look is very modern. There are lots of covered indoor and outdoor seats. NEW TRIES: Black Pepper Chicken - This dish was a bit boring as the ingredients are only chicken, sautéed celery, and white onions. For the pepper fan, I'd highly recommend it as it was very peppery but not a heat-sense. FAVORITES: Mushroom Chicken - This is still my favorite dish here. The chicken is tender, the zucchini and mushrooms fresh. I love the subtle flavors mixed with the fried rice. Egg Flower Soup - My new found favorite as a third item combo. It honestly tastes like it came out of the kitchen of a traditional Chinese restaurant. It's on the thicker side with lots of scrambled egg, peas, corn and carrots. Beef Broccoli - I'm still amazed at how the broccoli isn't overcooked at a place like this. It goes to show you that they do have standards. As far as taste, it's okay but is missing something, like possibly oyster sauce to give it a hint of sweetness. Fortune Cookies - They're always crunchy, not too sweet, with a creamy flavor. Yum. SERVICE: I'm always greeted and thanked. Sometimes I can't even get that in a sit down restaurant!? On my most recent visit, the Black Pepper Chicken wok was empty. The staff informed me of a wait and if I was willing to do so, then apologized and thanked me for waiting. See how simple good service can be? A rarity on this island. I stopped at this Panda's location in the Queen Shopping mall and was pleasantly surprise on the food quality, taste and deliciousness... I have eaten in many Panda's locations in Honolulu, Vegas, California and this one specific Maui location cuz I had time before jumping on the plane. I was pleasantly rewarded with best Grindz of the day. Based on Panda's business model, the food quality and consistently should be exactly the same at each Panda location. But this plate that I'm eating was better than any stir fry chinese food in SF Chinatown as it was fresh, hot and tasty and I could not put down my fork after each bite. Being from the Bay Area, this location served the best chinese fast food. read more

The food is okay, the service was pleasant, and pretty fast. There were 8 people in front of me, yet I believe I waited less than 5 minutes for them to receive my order. The food on the line at noon looked a little wilted, tired. When I received my 2-entree plate, the food was warm, not hot. I love kung pao chicken and love sechuawn (spelling) dishes because I love spicy food, but there was hardly any kick to it. Yes, there were these dried chili pods, but they weren't bright red, they were dark brown, so I think they are the dried kind. I don't know if that affected the spice profile. I could understand if the pods were just mixed in, for the appearance, and the food was never actually cooked WITH them. That could be it. I alsolove garlic eggplant with tofu. This version was less than impressive. There was some garlickyness, but the sauce was mostly oil and shoyu. Pretty greasy, in fact. Well, it all tasted good, and I was hungry, so I ate it all. I love the assortment of food that Panda serves, my family can each get what they like. My gripe is with their coupon system. We visited their restaurant because we wanted to use the mall coupon for one free entree if we bought 2 plates. You know how they add an extra $1.50 if you get shrimp? Kahului Pandas its okay, But the dinning room needs to be kept up clean,I got to meet some very well known franchise Reasturant owners yesterday 6/11/2019 @ around 12:45pm.They were really nice people. And another thing don't ever tell the employees when there is a big time Franchise Restaurant owner that comes into eat. Omg that particular employee walked up to the customer and asked them if they are one of the owner of Pandas? The customer totally ignored her!!!! Then she started running around cleaning the dining room. Then she walks over to me while I'm sitting next to these customers and tells they are not owners. We know who the owners are? I told her these are big time Franchise Reasturant owner. Then she ask me who am I? She has no class at all???? The girls were so nice! I have a special needs son who asks lots of questions. He was asking the girls about the Panda mascot and if he could see it. They explained to him that the mascot only makes appearances at special events and schools. They were so sweet to take the time to talk to him and answer all of his questions. My kids enjoy panda express but as a parent, service is too slow for me..which doesn't make sense when it's supposed to be fast food that's already made...I understand Pearls BBQ next door...food made to order....but come on!
