My husband and I met a friend at this Panera Bread. The restaurant was set up so that it is comfortable and inviting to meet with friends. We wanted to get a light lunch so we ordered the you pick two with the chicken pesto dippers and autumn squash soup with baguette. We were offered a half price bakery item and we got the cinnamon roll. The soup and sandwich were very good and flavorful. The cinnamon roll was decent but on the plainer side. Overall we had a good experience at Panera Bread.

    Broccoli cheddar soup

The freezing weather today got me craving for some soup and Panera came to the rescue!! The broccoli cheddar soup always hits the spot! We ordered on the app today and dined in at the local panera. I got the southwest chicken sourdough melt which was so comforting with the broccoli cheddar soup as part of the pick 2 combo. I also got an apple with it. We also got the chipotle chicken melt on black pepper focaccia which was fresh and delicious too. The inside of this panera has a cozy old school diner vibe with lots of college kids working on their laptops and studying. Best place when the cravings for soup hit hard!

    Mediterranean Bowl with Chicken

Earned a free warm bowl through the MyPanera rewards -- used this to order the Mediterranean Bowl with Chicken. The bowl comes with cilantro lime brown rice and quinoa, chicken, arugula, grape tomatoes, kalamata olives, hummus, lemon tahini dressing, feta and greek yogurt. Overall, the bowl tasted pretty good. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to eat this or really crave it, but if I happened to be in the mood for a healthier meal at panera, this is probably what I would order. Serving size is pretty big. I could probably split this into 2 smaller meals.

Wrong order, I didn't order cinnamon rolls

Greetings, I ordered online at 8:20am/8:30am yesterday morning 12/19/2023, I placed the order online to be pick up at 2:45pm, I arrived at this location early and I was on time at 2:32pm. I pull up in the drive-thru, I specifically ask this lying special young lady about my order, I repeated my name twice, the special young lady tells me that my order is correct and ready. So, I had to wait for an order that was previously called in the morning. I finally get my order? I Head home, just to pull up in my driveway, put my car in park to look in the bag to see my order is wrong. I'm beyond frustrated so I tried calling three times, no one answered my calls. So I go in to, change my clothes, I come back out and drive back to the same location. As I walk in, I see a young lady, she looks at me and she keep walking to the back, with another young kid, she begins to dance. Something I noticed with business and other businesses, all I see is babies/ kids working, I think that's part of the problem. The younger generation is out of control. Moving forward, I get there, I greet a young lady, I ask to speak with a manager. He (assistant manager) walks up to the Register/counter, rude, he didn't greet me. I spoke to him to him anyway, then I describe to him in details why I ask to speak to a manager. The assistant manager nonchalantly dismissively rudely interrupted me while I'm talking, he ask me for my name and then he comes back with this stone cold zombie look on his face and says I will give you a refund, he shows me no concerns. At this time my forehead is sweating, I'm getting more annoyed, and I say to the assistant manager is that it, then I say to him, do you not understand how much valuable time I've wasted, I then say, I worked fourteen hours today, I just want my refund and go home. The manager looks me in my eyes and tells me you are getting a refund, what do you want! He then says do you want a reward. I ask him he was serious! I then ask him, has he taken a customer service course. I tell him it's not about the refund, it's the principle. I tell him, it's not what he did, it's how he went about doing it. I tell the manager to lead by example. I ask him for my refund and I left out. The young lady who was in the drive-thru is a rude unprofessional liar, The assistant manager was rude, nonchalant, unprofessional, and he has no people skills, no mannerism, no understanding, and he is beyond ignorant. General manager Mr. Jordan, definitely not a good look. My question is, do you care about your customers? I'm reading the reviews, I'm not the first person to experience receiving the wrong order. From my experience your assistance manager needs coaching, and your special lying young lady employee needs to take a customer service course. The worst experiences that I've experienced at a panera bread business. I'm definitely not coming back. Thanks.

The meatballs were delicious, the sauce actually was very good and I don't even like mushrooms at all. The second item I got was the meat filled dumplings, and those were really good. They were actually a lot better than I thought they would be. The third item I tried was the smoked Polish sausage. I will be honest, this was not my favorite. It was not bad, but the flavor on it I did not like as much as other Polish places I've tried. I definitely want to go back and try their cabbage and noodles and pigs in a blanket. They also have desserts that I will have to try as well. They do sell sandwiches, Chicago style hotdogs, and have a small grocery store inside.

However, this place is kind of tucked away so it wasn't busy at all in the afternoon. The outside of the building just says Deli. If you like Polish food, you'll love it here. I read some people exaggerating about the wait times. It does not take long for them to help you. Like Jewel or Mariano's, they're not going to slice your meat in 10 seconds if that's what you're hoping for. Btw the staff was nice. I think the Karen's that complain about them being rude are not very cultured and only know American culture. I ordered the signature pastrami sandwich for $10.99 and it was a very generous portion size. She put a ton of meat in it. The pastrami wasn't tough, it was fresh and soft. Honestly, I had Katz's in NY and this was a really great pastrami sandwich. I also got a large cannoli and meat pierogis. The cannoli was delicious. The pierogis were good but I like to have softer skin. The meat filling was fine but the outside was a bit too tough. I've been to a number of Polish restaurants and they usually make the skins very soft to cut. I would rate these pierogis like a 4. Overall, it's about a 4.5. Prices were very cheap. I got everything for $20. I will definitely return to try more items.

I ordered online for carry out and the platform was easy to navigate. Once my husband and I arrived at the resto we were greeted by a very kind staff member. Our food wasn't ready but within 5 mins of us being there it was good to go. We tried the wonton soup and chicken dumplings app. Both were on the bland side. Normally I'm used to wonton soup also having noodles and theirs does not. Flavors were OK, felt like both dishes were missing spices. Everything was cooked perfectly though. In my experience, this signifies either the place was going to be a shithole to pass up, or it was a serious place to eat, then get out and go somewhere with an atmosphere. Happy to say J's (IMHO) is a serious place to eat. No-nonsense, direct and to the point. When I walked in, all those common chairs I mentioned were stacked upside down on the tables in the way that places do when they are closed. The taciturn fellow who worked there assured me they were indeed open, and explained they had just finish washing the floor. Please dont read any of this as negative-the best Chinese places I've ever been have looked like this-and if you've paid attention to the Travel/Food shows on the TeeVee, the joints in China itself are pretty much the same. On to the food, know this place is a Serious REAL-DEAL Chinese resto. I didn't notice if there were "Occidental" Chinese-type dishes on the carte, (primarily 'cos I wasn't looking for them). What I saw looked yum, and had a hard time making choices, even though I had read the menu multiple times and thought I know what I was going to order in advance. Confessionately, this is a chief feature for my tortured dining self-It's a wonder I even get fed in restaurants (especially the great ethnic ones), due to option anxiety. I zeroed in on "Street Noodles" for starters-wouldn't you? Then went to "Cold Beef Shank" for entreé. The Noodles were fab as was the Shank. The noodles were in a broth. with some hunks of bok choy and ground meat on top. Hearty, still light. The shank had a thin sauce complimenting but not obscuring the beefiness. One bugaboo: the Shank needed a bit of seasoning, and I wasn't going to use soy sauce, as I believed that would have marred the subtle flavors of the Beef. I asked for a salt shaker. It arrived, and I was a little taken back, 'cos it appeared it hadn't been washed in a while, and the salt inside was caked. It occurred to me this condition was present due to the non-use of said shaker. I don't think I've ever asked for a salt shaker in a Chinese resto. I pulled a toothpick out of my "Murse" and broke up the caked NaCl. Applying same to the pieces of Shank, the flavor bloomed and I was a happy boy. Bring some salt packets along when you visit "J's", maybe. The fellow who was waiter and cashier was a "western" fellow, whom I engaged and turned out to be quite an experienced foodie. some pleasant conversation indeed. Out here in deepest Suburbia, sometimes things present a vaguely Disneyesque artifice, where, if…read morethe fantasy world was more advanced, "Quotation Marks" would appear magically in the air around buildings (and, alas, people) indicating irony should be applied as a mitigating factor. This is not to imply in any way those places (or people) are therefore any less in quality or to be avoided. But I digress... I've driven past the "Paris Bistro" here, since it was established, and, unfairly thought "yeah, right". Why? Route 59 is a 1000% American Commerce Zone, rife with every franchise on the docket, and conformity is securely on the menu. And rightly so. Folks out here may have had their success, but they were raised in front of American TV, and their consumer habits developed accordingly, especially with regard to cuisine and eating habits. There are, of course, bona fide Ethnics in the general area, but those are germane to the Communities in residence. (Some FAB Chinese, Indian and Mexican places-q.v.) I am not aware of a burgeoning French settlement anywhere nearby. Around here "Cooper's Hawk" passes for "fine dining", and if you've ever fine-dined, you'll know Cooper's Hawk may parlay a decent feed, but it ain't Alinea, Bubba. In the far Western and Southwestern Chicago 'burbs, folks' Culinary tastes are as conservative as their politics. So whither "Paris Bistro"? It's a handsome suburban building with inviting signage. When you walk in, you pass a bar having an impressive array of boozes. Keep going west past the bar and you're in a room mimicking a rural setting, if a rural setting had curved leather banquettes. There's a more traditional dining room on the other side of the bar, but I didn't go in there. It was daytime, and bright, but when daylight ebbs, I'll bet both rooms are romantic. The service is reserved and accommodating-you're not going to find a wisecracking "Alice" on the staff. The menu actually is pretty accurate as a French Bistro in the USA. Lots of Français on it (in the titles), but the descriptions are all clear English. You don't have translation to fear. The menu is extensive, and features many traditional "Bistro" faves, along with select "American" choices. I was in for Brunch. Disregarding conformity, I ordered the Escargot for Hors D'oeuvre, not that I wanted to, but because I am pathologically incapable of NOT ordering Escargot if they are on the menu before me. They were yum, but I wish there was a softer bread available for sopping the buttery-garlic goodness remaining after the morsels are consumed. As "they" say, a French Chef is judged by their prowess in cooking a simple Omelette, so that's where I went. "Jambon et Gruyere" to be exact. It wasn't a large beast, but it was tasty, light, and properly prepared. No sign of the Rugby-Ball pancake-batter-enhanced behemoth omelettes you'll find in common Coffee shops. Accompanying was a (very) small salad of nice composition, with just enough fruity vinaigrette to satisfy. Also on the plate were tasty and ultra-crispy "shoestring fries". I'm not a slave to potatoes with breakfast. but these were damned good. The problem at hand (so to speak) was the transport from plate to mouth, as they were very thin and very crisp. Both fork and spoon were inefficient. I thought of using the spoon to crush them, thus rendering spoon a contender to preserve my dining decorum. In the end, I bit the bullet and just picked them up in hand, decorum be damned. I wish I had a bucket of these for movie-watching snacks at home. The coffee was a conundrum. It arrived with a strongish smell, like it was burnt and past its prime, but lacked the acrid flavor such as found in a forlorn brew. It was actually a fine, bold, cup of VERY dark roast. It's a nice, sophisticated (but not snooty) resto, dignified but not stuffy. If you need to have a business breakfast/brunch, this is a perfect place. Also, if you're not in the mood for the hustle and bustle of a noisy coffee shoppe. Prices a bit higher than you might expect, but... I quite enjoyed both the bread and circuses here, and while I never mistook myself from being anywhere else than in Naperville (not Paris), I caught the vibe, and it was nice. I am officially pissed at myself for not stopping here sooner. No "quotation marks" for this place. Throwing 4 stars (for now), and I'll be back here very soon for dinner.

That room is usually where they sit families. It was not our choice and we voiced our opinion to sit in the dining room. The staff immediately switched everything to the warm and inviting dining room. The food provided was tasty from the mini sandwiches to the tartines to the sweet treats. I have to say there was an inconsistency with sizing. Some were generous and some were lacking. They could've done a better job with consistency so we all got the same sizes. The tea service was very cute but you were only able to choose a couple teas. I've been to other teas at Suzette's and Pinecone Cottage where the tea is unlimited, as well as they ask if you would like another tasting of something that you really liked. I felt for the money this tea service was limited as well as not consistent. It was a great way to spend time with my Pilates friends, though. I could see myself doing this again if there were improvements made and they were more generous by offering an additional taste.
